Uncle Julio's Dallas Reviews
That was our first time in this location . We loved the food and the margaritas. Cherki was our sever and he recommended the flight margaritas great suggestion. He was very attentive with the refills all time great job.
Amazing food, Alyssa was my server, she was amazing too! Efficient, took care of my special requests with suck kindness! Great place to dine!!
One of the best places in the area for Margaritas and fajitas. We had to try the habanero shrimp recommended by our amazing server Cherki he did a great a job taking care or us . Highly recommended🤍🤍👍👍
Started with a couple of really well made Mojitos. Then tried the Jalisco fajitas. They were amazing. Jumbo grilled shrimp with dipping butter, tender steak and perfectly cooked chicken. It came with a side guac, sour cream and cheese. Three kinds of grilled peppers and onions. With a generous portion of freshly made flour tortillas. For dessert with tried the chocolate pinata! Large chocolate pinata that we got to crack open and out spilled crispy churros, fresh pineapple and fresh strawberries. With mounds of fresh whipped cream and chocolate dipping sauce on the side. This dessert is fun and delicious. Service was great. And manager circulated throughout restaurant making certain all were happy. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend!
It was all out first time here, and it was my cousins birthday. We called ahead to see how we would from reserving for a party of 11. Lady was very nice on the phone, and she even gave us a set time of 9:15pm when we would be seat it. I just figured it was a guess on the time. When we arrived, we waited until the time given. Next thing you we are getting seated it at 9:14pm. Our waiter was on point with everything, I wish I remembered his name. He was great to us. Food was good, and what we loved the best was the chocolate piñata. Definitely amazed to when we got to do our paying part. It was like a mini tablet, and we did everything there, you can even use Samsung pay on it! We will definitely be back.
This place always delivers and the service is consistently good. Highly recommend eating here and the food isn’t the only good thing the atmosphere is always great. Alyssa is a hard working kind server who won’t disappoint.
Good place for foods and fajitas, the salsa could be better but the service is great. you will definitely enjoy it with my favorite server Cherki. Keep the smile
Was here for a corporate dinner event and the service was fantastic, despite there being about 20-30 of us and there only being one server and one server helper. Some of the best grilled chicken tacos I've ever had though. In particular the chicken was delightfully flavorful. Definitely would recommend!
We had the cheese enchiladas and the Tex Mex. The beef enchiladas with the agave queso sauce was a surprise. A good surprise. After taking a bite, I had to look inside the enchilada to see what I had ordered. It was super good. Definitely recommend. The sauce makes it. Recommend 10/10. The queso was OK. The beans were seasoned really well and tasted good. The rice was nothing special but it didn’t taste bad.
Mayra was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The service was quick, the food came out just right, and she made the whole experience so enjoyable.
I didn't eat there but my friends car broke down at 6 pm on a Thursday in their parking lot next to the front door. The tow truck took about an hour to hook the car up and move it. The whole time it blocked about 8 parking spaces. The staff never came out to complain and hurry us up. Thank you Uncle Julios
A perfect spot for a quick, good lunch and service at Uncle Julio’s. Myra was great and very friendly. You can tell she’s a leader in the building. The whole team was on point. Still a staple on Lemmon.
I have been in different uncle julio locations, this is one of the best. Great fajitas and margaritas. Our waiter Cherki went above and beyond and made our nite spécial .
Foods are okay but the atmosphere is great and the service is excellent. Cherki one of the best sever I have ever had. Super nice and professional.
The food was very fresh and delicious. The chocolate pinata was divine! What a fun experience. Parking was the only problem we encountered. Over half of the parking lot was for valet parking
Me and my boyfriend tried this place because I had been here long time ago and I kind of forgot what it tasted like or what type of menu they had. Omg, we loved it! The steak, shrimps, lemonade, I mean, everything was so good, even our server was so kind and always constantly asking if we needed everything. I love when work is done when you do it with love even in hard days, God bless those who try to put a smile even when yours is not going well. 🥰
We celebrated my daughter s birthday and we had great time.we liked the fajitas and drinks are spot on. Cherki our server was very sweet and gave us the hall attention. We will be back 😊
Freddie was our server on Friday night. He is the best. He was patient, hard worker and has a great attitude. He checked on our table several times. Will definitely be back due to his great service!!!
The food (fajitas as queso) was delicious. Our server, Cherki, was so friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations! Will definitely come back when we come back I town!
Fredddie is excellent service i love this location. Celebrate my friends birthday. The GM Marcelo was excellent I spilled my el jefe Celebrate birthday replace without asking. 3 time returning to the location.
First time going to this location and the experience and waitress was great! The tableside guacamole was delicious (my first time eating). Birria tacos were great, enjoyed the spice, beef enchiladas, kids grilled chicken, beef fajitas, chips and salsa, EVERYTHING was good. Served hot and correctly prepared! The swirl and strawberry margaritas were delicious as well.
Went in for lunch and ordered some chicken fajitas and enjoyed some flour tortillas with queso. We had a great time. Our server Mayra made sure our drinks were always full and constantly checked on how we were doing. A+ Customer Service
We have been to this Uncle Julio’s quite a few times over the years and we are NEVER disappointed. The food is ALWAYS yummy and the service is always GREAT! Mayra has been our server both behind the bar and in the dining area and the service is never less than EXCEPTIONAL!! Her experience in serving and customer service really shows!
It's been a while since I've been to an Uncle Julio's (my last time at one was in Fort Worth in 2021), but I'm glad my mother and her friend took me here in mid-August. I decided to order the quesabirria, and scrumptious it was! I'd happily go for it again even in spite of the price, not to mention it isn't what I usually order (my visit here was my first time ever indulging in the dish), but it's definitely not something you want to have every evening or even every week. I'd just hate to lose appreciation for something so special in a way similar to why I don't eat a steak every month. However, on the back of fine and caring service along with an inviting, well-decorated, well-kept restaurant that was even willing to remake a dish that Mom wanted to pick up several hours after we ate our meal, I heartily recommend Uncle Julio's if you're in the northwest Uptown/Oak Lawn area, and I'm eager to try many more dishes in the future.
I don't give very many 5 Stars but this place definitely deserves it. The food is very good, very fresh, and authentic. Prices are reasonable for all that you get. The guacamole is some of the best. Service here is outstanding, very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place if you want authentic Mexican food and a great dining experience...
I took my daughter here for her birthday. We ordered el jefe margaritas with salt and pepper on the rim 😋 My fajitas were sizzling. I always get full off 2 tacos. Rice and beans were pretty good. House guacamole and habanero honey bacon wrapped shrimp for appetizers. Order the chocolate piñata 🪅 that was fun and enjoyable experience. Yall did an awesome job thank you. The manager came to check on us 2x. Which was nice.
We had dinner Sunday for my dad s birthday . It was a busy nite for the restaurant and my kids were a mess but we really enjoyed it and Cherki was very patient and passionate . I wish if the fajitas were more hot and sizzling but over all was a nice dinner .
Ate at Julio’s not too long ago and order my usual, carne asada add bacon wrapped shrimp and a swirl. All of it was good as always but the best experience was the service, attention and hospitality from my server Mayra!! She is absolutely amazing and you can definitely tell that she loves what she does and cares about making every guest feel welcomed and satisfied. You don’t get that kind of service anymore so it was very rewarding to experience it again! Mayra is the best! Make sure you request her as your server next time you visit.
Went to have brunch with my sister in law and it was perfect. We had a lot to catch up on and this was the perfect place with a good queso and chips 😋 I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and it was delicious. Thanks to Mayra who attended us and took care of all of our needs. She’s beautiful inside and out ❤️ Thank you for making sure everything was going smoothly.
1000% will be coming again the next chance I get! I Drove out to Dallas to watch the cowboys and commanders play, and happen to pass this by on my way back to my hotel, and though why not give it a shot. I’m from New Mexico and was curious how other states did Mexican cuisine. Needless to say this place did it perfectly, everything was cooked and spiced to absolute perfection! Customer service was amazing and my waiter Cindy was amazing, timely, efficient and very sweet!
You know the brand, if you don't you need to try it. Step above Mexican food. Great taste, good flavor, old favorites and some unique plates. The staff her is friendly and knowledgeable. Manager stopped by the table. Clean and comfortable. Have you ever tried the chocolate piñata, next time you have a big group try it. You will always want to take a group just to eat it. Parking can be a challenge, front door is not where you would expect it. None of that takes away from the food and service.
Our server at this restaurant was exceptional. She took the time to ensure that everyone got exactly what they ordered, answered all of our questions and made sure that we had a great dining experience. There are really only two vegetarian items on the menu, but this is typical of Mexican restaurants. I had the quesadilla, which was good. Would go here again if I'm hanging out in this neighborhood.
Go see Alyssa! She's the best! Her outgoing and pure energy make the food, drinks and atmosphere even better than they already are. New menu items have been a hit as well. Rest of the staff are always helpful. Worth adding to your routine rotation.
Uncle Julio's is one of my top 5 date night locations. The atmosphere is intimate, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. Cindy, our server was friendly, gave us great recommendations and was attentive. If she's your server for the night, you'll definitely be taken care of. The margaritas were delicious, the fajitas were hot and seasoned perfectly. I loved my experience there and am sure others will too!
I’ve been to Uncle Julio’s multiple times, and every visit has been fantastic—the food and service never disappoint! I especially want to highlight Mayra, who always goes above and beyond. She’s incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming, greeting guests with a warm smile that immediately makes you feel at home. Her service is consistently excellent—she anticipates what you need before you even ask and makes sure every detail is perfect. It’s rare to find someone who brings that level of care and positivity every single time. If you're visiting Uncle Julio’s, I highly recommend asking for Mayra. She’s a big part of what makes the experience so special!
My family had an amazing experience here, and a huge part of that was thanks to Freddie. From the moment we were seated, he was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great time. He struck the perfect balance between being professional and personable. He anticipated our needs, offered us lobster with our meal, and checked in at the right moments without feeling intrusive. His energy and care truly elevated our dining experience. If you’re dining here ask for him. He’s an absolute standout and a true asset to the team. We will definitely be back because of him!
Took hubby for his Birthday and we enjoyed ourselves very much like we always do when we go to Uncle Julios. Been coming here for yearzzz. The service is always good, the drinks perfect, the servise amazing. Not to mention the Piñata, our favorite part when celebrating Birthdays. Will definitely continue to celebrate Birthdays at Uncle Julio's.
Uncle Julio’s on Lemmon Avenue never disappoints. I’ve been coming here for decades, and this location has been a Dallas staple for what feels like 35–40 years—for good reason. The service is consistently warm and attentive, the atmosphere inviting, and the food reliably excellent. My friend ordered the classic beef fajitas, which remain a standout: incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I started with a side of guacamole—fresh, vibrant, and made just right. The green smoked salsa that arrives at the table is exceptional, easily among the best salsas you’ll find in Dallas, with a subtle smokiness that keeps you coming back for more. For my entrée, I chose the enchiladas rojas with barbacoa. The roja sauce was rich and balanced, and the beef was flavorful without being overly salty, complementing the sauce beautifully. The Mexican rice was spot-on—clearly made with care, using proper ingredients and a thoughtful blend of cumin, chicken stock, onions, and tomatoes. Our server went above and beyond, attentive without hovering, and genuinely kind. Uncle Julio’s has never let me down in 35 years, and this visit was no exception. Thanks for stopping by. Yours truly 🙂 Hollenbeck to Nowhere
My family and I visited Uncle Julio's last night and received phenomenal service from our waiter- Freddy Gonzalez! His expertise, friendliness, and calm demeanor was OUTSTANDING!! The restaurant, had a nice vibe, very clean, and all the staff were great! The Taco Bar and drinks were very delicious.. Will be going again soon..
Mayra, my server...Outstanding and attentive to everyone at the table. Made sure that we had everything without anyone having to ask..... The GM, Marcelo, never have I seen management personally go to from table to table checking on each patron insuring total satisfaction with all. Outstanding example of leadership. Best service I've ever had. Anywhere.!!! Definitely will be back.
Recently visited Uncle Julios on Lemmon and had the best experience thanks to my server Mayra. I absolutely loved her food recommendation (honey chipotle salmon) and omg she mentioned the flight margaritas were just added that week and we’re definitely worth the hype. I will definitely be back and requesting her to be my server again.
My mom and I flew to Dallas on a day trip and ran into this wonderful establishment. We were greeted by Marcello and we were seated immediately. We were again greeted by our server Donnell, very pleasant! We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. Everything was delicious and hot!
Visited on a super busy Saturday. We skipped waiting an hour for a table in the dining room and snagged one in the bar area. After bussing our own table, our waiter finally arrived and all was good after that! I wish I caught his name because he was the hardest working person on staff that night (2/22/25). He bussed, grabbed waters and chips for multiple tables, took our orders (which came out so quickly), and smiled the whole time. The food was fabulous! I went simple with the shrimp salad, but those may have been the best shrimp I've ever eaten. The salsa was off the charts tasty. I've never seen entire bar covered with dirty dishes on a Saturday night with a lobby full of people looking to enjoy themselves. The chaos happening didn't appeal to me, but I'd come back if our waiter was there!!
Dined here for a work lunch with supervisor and peers. The chips and salsa were both fresh. I ordered the taco salad with fajita steak. It was very good. Seasoned well with a hearty helping of avocado and sour cream. Our waiter was attentive and polite. The host and the manager had great interpersonal skills.
Today we did delivery for lunch for 7 people. Everything was packaged well, and arrived without any food items moved or mixed during delivery. Food was still warm, had great presentation and food arrived warm. I ordered the Chicken Quesadillas, they were very good, chicken was moist and not overcooked. This location is great and have always had a great experience here whether delivery or dine in. We decided to go here today to dine in for 4 people. We went at lunch time, got right in and seated. Waited came by within a couple minutes and took our drink order. 2 people ordered from the lunch menu, the 2 others ordered from the regular menu. I ordered the combo fajitas, beef and chicken. They kept us stocked up on chips and salsa before our food arrived. From the time in the door and to get our food was pretty quick, about 16 minutes. All food arrived hot with great presentation and taste. Everything was as ordered. Our waiter did not let our cups get half empty, he was on it. The manager on duty also stopped by our table to make sure everything was good. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and eat too much, no left overs taken from this lunch. Great food that you can get from most Uncle Julio’s, so it’s pretty much the customer service that separates them, and this one is one of the best customer experience that I have had! A++ Uncle Julio’s!
First timer at this restaurant it was a great experience food and drinks were amazing, also there the customer service was outstanding especially Mayra, all at the location off lemon ave.

This was my first time visiting and it did not dissapoint. Arrived around 8:30p on a Friday night and was promptly taken to be seated. The chips and salsa were great; they don't have verde salsa …
Very delicious enchiladas and salad. We received an excellent service from Mrs. Joy. Very kind and helpful person. Meals are at very good prices.
Second time going, surprised my mom for her 60th birthday! When we first arrived, it took them forever to get it together so I could decorate. Everyone arrived and wait on the waitress who was phenomenal by the way. The dip and chip was definitely nasty, the first time we went it was delicious. Now unto the food, mom ordered the beef enchiladas dinner and she said was nasty. My food was good, the only complaint my pinto beans was not fully cooked, they were hard. And it did take them forever to bring our food out as well. Oh yeah they homemade their tortillas and they were not tasty at all. Please fix that, because my meat was very favorable, but put together with the tortilla was not a great taste. But other than that, everything was good about the atmosphere.
The food was good, the service was great but the parking was a little tight - it seemed like it was between a very limited self park area or valet so we had to park a ways off and make the walk. We don't have anything against valet but when it's for a casual lunch, we just want to eat and run so it didn't fit the vibe. Other than that, the people were great and the bowls were delicious.
Great place to go for special occasions. We were celebrating my friend's birthday with a chocolate pinata. If you go it's a must have. There were 3 types of fajitas - vegetable, chicken and beef. I'm not a beef eater but this was good. I had chicken enchiladas they were pretty good. I love the freshly made tortillas. Try them. The table side guac preparation is awesome.
Decided to get a little lunch with a fellow associate and enjoy the lunch hour specials. My visit was a little close to 1 pm on a Tuesday, so it wasn't crazy busy. My party was quickly seated. The food was served hot and my margarita was tasty. Although I normally like an attentive person serving my table, I do believe it's best to read the table as well. My colleague and I were enjoying a great conversation and clearly hadn't got into our meal. There's not a need to check on us every 15 minutes. So what's not great? I'm not big on suggested tips especially ones that start at 25%. Like really? I don't do less that 15%, but I tip based on service. And keep in mind we split our ticket, so that's 25% per person versus 25% for the total table. Other than that... I'll visit again.
Came with my mom for lunch and we were seated quickly with an attentive waitress. I ordered a guacamole appetizer and frozen strawberry margarita. I did enjoy both of these items prior to our food arriving. For my meal, I ordered the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas and with charro beans, rice. The fajitas came out sizzling, nicely cooked, and the charro beans had good flavoring to them. I can say their salsas (they have two) were very spot on and enjoyable. My mother did say she enjoyed her enchiladas. I do look forward to returning to try out other food and drink items.
Pros: Food was awesome. Had the fajitas with a mix of skirt steak and chicken. At first the skirt steak came out medium rare, which I was not a fan of. Told the waiter could they grill it up to a medium well. He did so and it came back awesome. Nice and tender, the steak and the chicken. The tortillas made on site were fresh. Guacamole was fresh also. The darker salsa had a hint of roasted tomatoes that was unique. And the black beans were and upgrade from traditional black beans. Our server was polite and and checked on us frequently. The atmosphere was modern but bland. Cons: The parking was terrible. Self Parking in the front is limited and tight, especially if you have a large vehicle. There is parking in the back, but it's valet only. Which I thought was ridiculous because it was on a rainy Sunday afternoon with very few patrons inside. Overall, food was fantastic. Atmosphere was adequate. And the parking is horrible.
Uncle Julio’s is consistently a solid choice for Mexican food in Dallas, especially when you’re looking for a reliable spot that delivers on both flavor and atmosphere. The fajitas are a standout and easily one of the best items on the menu. They arrive sizzling, well-seasoned, and cooked just right, with generous portions that make them perfect for sharing—or not. Whether you go with steak, chicken, or shrimp, they’re consistently satisfying and a big reason this location keeps people coming back. The drinks are another strong point. Margaritas are well made, balanced, and not overly sweet, which makes them easy to enjoy more than one. The bar program feels polished without being pretentious, and it pairs nicely with the bold flavors coming out of the kitchen. The Lemmon Avenue location has a lively but comfortable vibe—ideal for business lunches, casual dinners, or meeting friends. Service is typically attentive and efficient, even during busy times, which adds to its reputation as a dependable go-to spot. Overall: Uncle Julio’s on Lemmon Avenue earns its reputation as a Dallas staple. Great fajitas, solid cocktails, and consistent execution make it a place you can confidently recommend and return to again and again. 🌮🍹
The sizzling fajitas and their signature Swirl margarita hit the spot, and the fresh chips and warm tortillas were great. Service was friendly but uneven, with a long wait and a noisy dining room that made conversation tough. Prices creep up for what you get, but portions are generous, good for a casual group night if you’re not in a hurry.
Came for an early dinner and it’s been quiet, like this slow and the service is not bad. Highly recommend the Ceviche w Shrimp and cod, it’s really great 👍 If you like sour taste, definitely that would be the must try!! First time try watermelon Margaret Cocktails, it’s just so so but not regret to order it , at least it looks good loll. Still like Patron Margarita better but it looks not pretty 😂 BTW, plenty of parking lots makes it easier for getting, will be back soon
This Uncle Julio's location was overall solid and a pleasant Thursday dinner. They were very understaffed this day so we chose to sit at the bar, where the service was excellent. Drinks and food came quickly and were tasty. My main gripe is the increase in prices and smaller portions across recent Uncle Julio's trips. Good food, a bit hard to validate price wise.

My uncle and I came here for lunch. We both had the chicken enchiladas. We thought the entrees were delicious. The service of the staff was great. We may come back again.
Went here after a trade show with some customers for a dinner. We ordered drinks that were tasteful and delicious. My only down side with this place was the actual food. I ordered some enchiladas that when they came out, looked phenomenal. The taste however was something to be desired. I was disappointed with the taste, especially after how they looked.
The place was packed for a Friday night the parking is terrible(unless you valet), I initially parked across the street at CVS, and I saw a spot outside and decided to chance my luck by moving my car before someone else took it. Sure enough the spot was taken, but two more were open. Went back inside, the seating was comfortable for 11 people. We gathered to honor the memory of My bestie son who would have been 29 and to clebrate my bestie birthday early, she was surprised with a PAID trip to Jamaica. We sat and ate, I ordered the Chicken Caesar salad (had to ask for extra dressing it's a small container with a lot of salad)the kids had nachos. I hate they don't offer a variety platter, the menu was filled with stuff I really don't eat. The waitress forgot my drink, she told me they had to make another one because it sat at the counter too long it wasn't a new drink she brought me the same melting frozen drink. My drink was no hint of alcohol at all I don't trust drinks sent back, I like living,I took that L especially when you can't see the bar) the food was GREAT for a salad. All in ALL it was a good night. I won't be returning too big of a headache with parking.
It was okay, service from waitstaff was the best part. Chips and salsa were excellent, taco salad not so much. Lettuce was extremely bitter and not edible.
The service was slow and not that friendly from the hosts to the server. My food was lukewarm but looked good. The interior is showing it's age, and tables and chairs were looking beat up. It was ok, but I'm not rushing back anytime soon.
The service was spectacular, the ambience was great, and the all the staff were extremely friendly; the food however was subpar. The problem is that that good, cheap, Mexican food is easy to find, and this restaurant charged way too much for ok quality food. The $27 salmon was overcooked and dry.
The food was average, not worth the price. Our server did not seem too interested in our party. He pulled a table away from a large party that had reservations in an hour and implied we had an hour to eat. The atmosphere was nice.
Overall, we left disappointed with our dinner choice. For the price, neither the food nor the atmosphere met expectations. The dishes lacked seasoning and were charred on the outside while still undercooked.
My boyfriend and I visit this location and this time we had a horrible experience!!! From the beginning to the end! Our waiter rushed him from the time we sat down. Her name was ANAID she was terrible! After being rushed and dismissive she kindy talked and took her time with the Hispanic couple next to us! The food was lukewarm and mediocre. In the end she asked was it cash or card and we told her cash. She showed us the total on the screen which was $126.36 it seemed too much so I asked for a paper receipt. My boyfriend give the waiter $130.00. I talked to a manager(Mr.Spencer) and asked to see the total of the bill we paid he informed us it was no record. We get the paper receipt and come to find out she added gratuity before showing us the total when it was just two of us smh. We would not have been concerned if we had good service!!!! The manager was so concerned and nice and respectful he went and talked to her and gave us the $24 back and apologized. Smh it’s so sad we had to go through that on top of bad service
Our 1st time and they Sat our party of 12 between two others big parties. We were so close that the back of our chairs touched. We were squished and uncomfortable.. I was surprised because half of the restaurant was empty. Our server was forgetful and had to be reminded multiple times for items.. the food was mediocre and the only thing special about the entire visit was the chocolate piñata.. They don’t recognize the birthday guest and I was just very disappointing overall.
My date selected this place for us to have dinner and socialize. I thought it was perfect being that I had never patronized any Uncle Julio's and it was in my area. From the hostess, waiter to server the friendliness and welcoming etiquette failed. I started with a request for water and a frozen margaritas swirl. Compared to others I've had it lacked the zesty taste. My dinner, Ceasars Salad with fajitas beef made me not want another salad ever. Later leaving my stomach in knots. This first time experience for me was good. Walking across the street would have guaranteed me and my pallet the service along with authentic taste. But the ambiance and my date was great! SN: H2O back means a glass of water with the alcoholic drink. Chips should be fresh and WARM!! Salsa......🤢 Uncle Julio"s isn't related to me! 😡
Staff don’t know what gluten free means. They suggested chicken fajitas with no butter and brought us flour tortillas. Butter is gluten free and flour tortillas are not. Charged $2.50 for 3 corn tortillas after they initially brought us flour tortillas.
I have been to the establishment a few times and I will have to say this is the first time I walked away utterly disappointed in the food. I ordered the queso, and guacamole for appetizers. The guac had I could tell all fresh ingredients but there was absolutely no salt or lime added to the guacamole so it was quite bland with huge chunks of vegetables. The queso was very salty. We were given a bowl of chips that was very greasy. We later realized that the same grease they fried the chips in was the same old grease they fried the churros that we ordered for my cousin bday dessert. They were terrible. Greasy and could smell the grease on the churros. For my main dish, I ordered their version of a chimichanga. It was 3 small/medium chimis , drowned in a bowl of chilli con carne and then drizzled with some kind of overly limey tasting sauce. It was terrible. So limey that I couldnt even eat it. Had two bites and that was all I could eat . when my cousin mentioned to our waitress that the chips and churros are greasy and had been fried in old grease that you could taste and smell and needs to be changed she quickly agrees and says she will mention it to the cooks but she never went to the kitchen or to notify a manager. I probably won’t go back to eat, but I will go for a cocktail. Bartender did a good job on our cocktails.
The food was very good, I had queso, guacamole, barbacoa fajitas. Everything tasted great the food was awesome. But then 4 hours later I felt an uneasy feeling in my chest and rapid heart rate. That's when I realized I have ingested MSG, I will never eat at this place again. If your sensitive to the effects of MSG don't eat at this location.

Bartender sent a "frozen" swirl margarita to the table that was already 90% melted. That means it had been sitting behind the bar for a significant amount of time.
We usually eat at the Allen location but had some business in Dallas so opted to eat at the Lemmon location. Big mistake! \nAfter waiting for nearly 10 minutes for anyone to even ask for our drink …

Service and atmosphere was nice. The staff were friendly. Unfortunately since being bought out in December(same company that owns taco bueno), the food quality has gone completely off the rails. Cheap tasting and unappetizing all the way around…..all just to save the parent company a buck. The steak fajitas were anemic. No color, no seasoning, no flavor. Looked like rubber. Uncle Julio’s used to be a top spot for good Tex-Mex food, no longer seems to be the case. Extremely disappointing.
Well I'm back again with another review and this one is going to be a doozy. We had ordered a beef fajita quesadilla with light cheese and chicken enchiladas. The quesadilla had so much cheese in it that there was more cheese taken out on the plate than sour cream. There were only small squares of fajita meat, but yet they charge premium prices. When we needed more tea we asked the waitress as expected, but when none was brought we asked again. The waitress then pointed at the pictures of tea sitting on the ledge. At that point she told us which ones had sweet tea and unsweetened tea. I soon grabbed them and proceeded to serve ourselves with tea. I forgot one more thing that my wife just reminded me of that I would like to share. The person that was putting the dough in the machine for the tortilla was blowing the tortillas with her breath to keep them from getting stuck. I don't think the audience would have wanted to see that on video. The moral to this dining experience is, if you feel the need to serve yourself at a restaurant, stay HOME. Happy Eating.
We have gone to Uncle Julio’s for over 20 years, we went yesterday 12/28/25, new menu, chips were gross, salsa tasted like chemicals the tortillas were mini. So sad as it was a family favorite, we took out of town guests there. Now … nope so dissatisfied and disappointed that’s it’s gone corporate.
Disappointed, placed an online pick up order on superbowl Sunday. Several items from the order missing. An apology was offered. A gentleman offered to make the order again and have me pick it up, but was already at event. I shouldn’t have to make a second trip. The same gentleman offered to do something nice next time I visit? That doesn’t fix an issue that was paid for that day. Not the end of the world but will hesitate or go elsewhere next time.
This was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Uncle Julio’s changed their menu and the restaurant may not survive, if this is their concept going forward - I doubt they will be open a year from now. The salsa has changed. Queso was runny and had a vinegar aftertaste. Ceviche has been removed from the menu - but they still have shrimp available, so you can make ceviche. The tortilla soup tasted like unsalted dishwater. The marinade for the fajitas has also been changed, which left a bland and flavorless. Sad - very sad.
This was my first time at this location and probably the last time..The manager John Eastwood was so rude when he came out to check on the order my friend made..he was so unprofessional by slamming the plate on the table telling her that the platter was correct. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE FOOD AGAIN. He should have tried to make to right but Instead he had an attitude..
I arrived at 824pm for my 830 reservation. Then had to wait for about 20min b4 we were seated. I didn't even know the waiter's name. He was slooooow. The drinks were weak, we got our orders late and one or two items at a time by him have to go back to get this, that, and the third. Once we got our food I felt rushed. Just as long as the Birthday Girl and my Family was content and Happy. Who, I don't think I will return to this location!
So we celebrated my best friend’s birthday here on this past Saturday and everything besides our server was horrible! I ordered chicken fajitas did not come out sizzling and to watch other tables receive hot food was horrible. I was so disappointed and our party had about 15 people. A few years ago I really liked this restaurant but cold food and isn’t acceptable. Beans and rice, cold. I don’t know but someone needs to go back to the drawing boards with Uncle Julio’s. I actually asked for my ticket and paid, I wasn’t expecting anything but to pay and leave. 🫤
Leaving this location today with the worst experience I’ve had in my many years of patronizing this business. I am aware of the menu being revised but the nachos I ordered today did not look very appetizing to begin with but due to eating here many years I still gave them a try. Definitely not what I expected mainly due to the nachos being packed excessively with cheese possibly because I asked for no beans 🤷🏾♀️. Upon my arrival, there was only one other customer being served but the customer service that was received wasn’t what I expected as well. The server had a very warm & friendly spirit but he was not as attentive. I ordered the nachos along with a side of rice but I had to remind the waiter the I ordered rice and didn’t receive it with the nachos. At this time I also asked for plastic utensils as well a spicier salsa. When the waiter finally returns with the rice, no plastic wear in hand and the waiter is only serving one other person at this time. After waiting for the things requested to enjoy my meal, my nachos weren’t as warm as I would like them but I figured they would still be delicious as I had recently ordered the nachos the same way at this exact location about 2 weeks ago (without the excessive cheese). After deciding to take the rest of my order to go due to it being cold now, I had to signal the waiter to come to the table for services such as requesting a to- go container, salsa and paying my ticket but there was only one other person the server was assigned to serve. This is kind of ridiculous in the serving industry to receive anything but good quality customer service when there is no one else to serve. This experience was very unsatisfying.
TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! We went there today (2/15/26) at 3pm. It took them literally 55 minutes to bring one drink from the bar. My glass of water was never refilled by our waitress. I had to go get the manager for a refill for my water and that still was my last glass. Their tortillas are very small now, I have been coming here for years, so I know what they use to look like. We ordered chicken and beef fajitas for two and got 3 tortillas! …we also got “set up” for one. The “bowl” of queso was $12 and looks like a “cup”. This place has changed over the years, kinda sad what’s happening to the service industry. Everything is over priced and now you get tiny portions.
So I went for lunch and sat at the bar. Took a long time to greet me and take my order. When I finally put my order in to the waitress it took almost 30 minutes for my food to come out for the “lunch special”of 2 fish tacos nothing complicated. The restaurant wasn’t even busy at all , very few guests. Just very disappointed at the overall welcoming of the staff and the wait time for my food. Should not have taken that long for a very simple order.
I’m giving this location one star based on how my friend was treated tonight. My friend ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp, which clearly stated on the menu that it included cheese inside. When her food arrived, there was no cheese. She politely brought it to the waitress’s attention and respectfully asked to speak with a manager. The manager, John Eastwood, approached the table but did not introduce himself. Instead of calmly addressing the concern, he immediately began arguing with my friend and even put his hands in her food while saying, “Do you want something else? Because you’re not getting the same thing again.” He never introduced himself, never apologized, and made no real effort to correct the issue. To make matters worse, he slammed her plate down on the table. Everyone at our table was shocked and uncomfortable watching how the situation was handled. As a manager, professionalism and customer service should come first, regardless of stress or personal matters. His attitude and behavior were completely unacceptable. There was no apology from him at any point. However, I do want to acknowledge that our waitress returned to the table and genuinely tried to make things right, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the manager’s conduct overshadowed the entire dining experience.
Terrible. This is not the same Uncle Julio’s that existed years ago. I know times change and new people take over but man, this place has completely gone downhill. The fajitas had a plastic taste to them, almost as if they were reheated in the microwave - the rice, ok - used to be the best, and the charro beans tasted as if they were coming straight out of the can. There’s nothing I dislike more than spending money on food that taste horrible. This experience made me think we could’ve gotten better tasting food at the Taco Cabana down the street. The execs need to stop cutting corners, bring back the high quality ingredients. Such a shame.
When we arrived, it looked nice not too packed... broken pieces of chips were brought out, along with salsa that looked used. I ordered a watermelon margarita and it was not good... watered down alcohol and pieces of watermelon and seeds that kept getting stuck in the straw... it didn't even have watermelon flavor... then we ordered the fajitas for two... I'm so mad that all of the food was bland! The rice was not good and looked old... for the price we paid, it was nasty! Fire those cooks and get better ones!!!
