Wow what a amazing dinner. Keith🚀 our server and Ray are chef were amazing and we couldn’t recognize this place higher in that highly enough. I definitely recommend coming here for the 5 to 6 happy hour. They have a Omakase for $120. that’s amazing and the drinks are top-notch. They had fortaleza reposado which is my favorite tequila and very hard to find. my wife had a honey allergy and I were able to accommodate us in the service and ambience is next level. We’ve been at a place in Dallas and we cannot be happy enough what an amazing experience thanks Uchi

We did the 9-course omakase for my bday dinner. So delicious! We did end up ordering a couple happy hours items outside of the set menu, because we were still a bit hungry. However, overall, the happy hour menu is a fantastic deal. I really recommend it.

Lively atmosphere with great Japanese food! Our server Quon was extremely kind and made our experience great. Attentive to detail! Parking can be awful but there’s valet out front (Luckily we did street parking for free). Everything we ordered was phenomenal - appetizers to sushi it was all great and was perfect on timing. Sushi definitely has a twist to it and I loved the different flavors. This isn’t cheap sushi, so everything tasted extremely fresh and well prepped. Total bill was about $400 for two so come prepared to spend (forget to take pictures of few more items) I highly recommend it and we’re for sure to return.

Uchi expectedly delivered its utmost service, impeccable food and overall decadence. We were well taken care of by "Uche'," who was so detail oriented, friendly and effortlessly wonderful. So when I suggested to my daughter who is visiting from Austin, TX, to have dinner at Uchi, her smile was enough of an answer.

Had an awesome experience at Uchi West Hollywood. From the moment we sat down, the service and attention to detail stood out. We sat at the bar and ordered progressively as we got hungrier, letting the team guide us through different dishes and experiences. Connor, our server/chef, and Davis, our drink server, were both fantastic — super knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. They asked about allergies and preferences up front, which immediately made us feel taken care of, and there was never any pressure to rush or over-order. The pacing was perfect, the food was consistently excellent, and the ambiance is beautiful — relaxed, elevated, and inviting. Everything felt intentional without feeling stiff. I drive by Uchi all the time and somehow never realized what I was missing. I’m so glad a friend suggested stopping in for sushi — it was exactly what we were craving and more. Can’t wait to come back.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Uchi during DineLA! The restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside, with a beautiful, spacious patio that’s also pet-friendly—a huge plus for anyone dining with their furry friends. Service was exceptional from start to finish—friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. Our food came out lightning fast, but still thoughtfully plated and perfectly prepared. Highlights from our meal included the sushi, pork belly, and white fish—each dish was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. While the dessert didn’t quite hit the mark for us, the savory courses more than made up for it. Overall, Uchi delivers on both quality and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Fantastic experience curated by chef bobby. Food was paced well and maintaining balanced texture, flavors, and temperature. Would recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If only Google allowed 10 stars!) My family has been loyal Uchi Austin customers for over 12 years, and we were thrilled to find out they have a location in LA! We tried the tasting course, and every dish was absolutely amazing. The service from Tyler was friendly and attentive, and the space felt chic and trendy — making the overall experience truly delightful. Highly recommended !

I have visited several Uchi locations throughout the country but this week, I dined at the West Hollywood location for my second or third time… We ordered a ton of dishes to share, which was a great strategy. We ordered several of the chef special cuts of nigiri and dishes. The dry aged fish was unique and unlike anything I’ve tasted elsewhere. The hospitality and service at Uchi is top-tier. If you enjoy unique and high-quality sushi, this is a must try while in Los Angeles. It is a beautifully designed restaurant, we often sit outside, but the inside is beautiful featuring tons of wood finishes.

It may not be as great of an experience as the original Austin Uchi, but it’s fantastic. Love the sushi, but in truth, the surprise best parts of our 8-10 dishes were probably the veggie dishes. Expensive and Incredible! Get the squash dish!!

Oh my gosh this was one of the greatest dining experiences I’ve ever had! Keith was an INCREDIBLE and attentive server - was super on top of my gluten allergy & made the best recommendations. I was ecstatic that I was able to eat most of the menu, with or without substitutions, including the chicken karaage!

Excellent! Have visited a few locations, and this W Hollywood spot did not disappoint. We let our server walk us through the menu, sharing about 15 dishes between our group. Each bit was 5 stars. Only slight disappointment, we were sat outside, not inside as expected--not bad, but a bit sterile and did not really get the full experience (metal patio type tables, not quite the $600 dinner experience). Overall, excellent food and service, will be back (but not unless we are inside)!

The best nuggies (fish) known to man. I WOULD ORDER THESE IN BULK IF I COULD. Their other stuff is really, really, really good too. Happy hour is strong value.

we tried their $55 dineLA 10-course omakase menu and although it leans closer to a tasting menu, everything was so delicious! all the fish dishes were our favorites as the ingredients tasted so fresh and flavorful. the unique combinations, the array of flavors, and the quickness and care of the service to make sure we had our next dish ready was phenomenal. this was such a delicious and fun experience and I love that we didn't have to break the bank on this one. can't wait to come back and sit at the sushi bar. it was pretty packed for a monday night so highly recommend a reservation!

We had a birthday celebration and they gave us a private room for our group. The waitress was lovely and helped us with everything we needed and also made amazing recommendations. We ate so many things and it was a taste sensation

Amazing food! So delicious , the foods are savory and the drinks are delicious. I had mock tails and they were DIVINE. Jessica was our server and she was sweet knowledgeable. All the other servers that come with the food were also really nice. Everyone was just so nice :)

I rarely leave reviews on here, but I have to make an exception for Uchi. Where to begin? Firstly, the restaurant atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous. Modern light wood and lots of greenery — stunning. The food was also extremely delicious. Every dish was plated perfectly and the dish was fully described upon being served. Not a single bad dish the entire night. Sooooo delicious Unfortunately, my steak took a bit longer to make due to the kitchen deeming it not quality enough to send out. Upon asking about it, the manager apologized, personally served the dish, and took it off the bill. As a business owner, I highly respect this level of customer service. These days, loyalty is extremely important and I’m happy to see Uchi understands the concept of it. I will absolutely be back! Thank you for everything.

Loved Uchi! Visited for happy hour; it's short (5-6) but great. The espresso martinis are only $10 and they have a large variety of bites. We had several of the hand rolls and a hot item. All were excellent; the wagyu roll was our favorite. Sat at the bar; both bartenders were amazing! Already looking forward to our return trip.

Had an incredible time at happy hour! Coming from Austin as a longtime lover of Uchi and Uchiko I had high hopes for the West Hollywood location, and it did not disappoint. Everything was incredible and the team was amazing as well :)

✨ Flawless dining experience at Uchi West Hollywood ✨ Every dish was a true work of art — from the perfectly sliced sashimi and melt-in-your-mouth nigiri, to the exquisitely crafted hot dishes, each bite delivered a sophisticated explosion of flavors. The blend of traditional Japanese techniques with modern touches turns dinner into a captivating sensory journey. Service was attentive yet discreet, and the refined atmosphere set the perfect stage for a memorable evening. The balance of delicacy and intensity in every flavor reaffirms why Uchi is a true reference for high-end Japanese cuisine in Los Angeles. An experience that elevates omakase to an entirely new level. Perfect for those who appreciate quality, refinement, and an unforgettable dining experience.

Uchi was an incredible dining experience. We had been meaning to go when we were in Austin but never got the chance so as soon as we heard an LA location was opening we had to try it and were glad we did. The staff was amazing and helpful in navigating the menu. The sushi was some of the best I’ve had but they also have incredible non-sushi items. The zero sen and the hama chili were great. We actually had the quail on special which I did not expect from a sushi forward restaurant but highly recommend. Don’t sleep on the dessert either, their fried milk seems to be the signature dessert and no question as to why. We sat at the sushi bar which was an awesome experience but it was VERY tight in shoulder width and a little loud. You also can’t see them making the sushi through the case but can talk to the sushi chefs who are amazingly helpful in choosing food. We didn’t have anything we didn’t enjoy and can’t wait to go back. They have valet as WeHo street parking is exceedingly difficult. There are some meters if you have the time to find them.

We had an AMAZING experience with Trevor. So knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything on the menu. Truly an incredible dining experience. He customized our experience and served us with a huge smile. We sooo appreciate his impeccable service!! Thank you, Trevor!

I’m from Colorado and frequent the Uchi location in Denver so when we found out they had this new location we had to check it out. The quality and customer service of this food group is unmatched! This isn’t your average sushi spot, chef Cole and his team put so much thought into the flavor combinations. Be prepared to have your taste buds ROCKED!!

Hot and cold tastings are amazing, and the dessert is to die for. Don't necessary come for the sashimi or nigiri as that's not my thing (but would also say that's not necessarily their thing) First tried in Houston and was blessed they decided to open a bit closer to home!

Had Uchi for the first time in Denver and it was AMAZING! We've been waiting for Uchi to open in Los Angeles and it finally did in WeHo! Had a date night and the atmosphere of the newly opened location was perfect! Great staff and even better food! We went a bit crazy with the orders but it was all so worth it! Had their Uchi G&T which reminded us of our wedding signature cocktail. We particularly enjoyed the Cool and Hot Tastings, specifically their classic favorites the Walu Walu and Hama Chili, though they are on the pricier side. But so flavorful and the fish was yummmm. So totally worth it. Our waiter Kris was definitely on point with his recs but I'm sure you could eat and enjoy anything on the menu. Rolls we had and really enjoyed were the Spicy Crunchy Tuna makimono with white chili aioli, the Gyumaki makimono with a kimchi emulsion sauce, the Zero sen makimono with a sweet soy sauce and chili oil on the side. Definitely can't wait to have those again. Also REALLY loved the unagi and gyutoro nigiri! So very delicious though the gyutoro is definitely on the expensive side. We thought our Hirame Flounder nigiri was OK and the Negi Toro Maki special was pretty good. And of course, the food item that brought us there in the first place: The Jasmine Cream (cilantro granita, pineapple, jasmine cream, and honey crumble) dessert! So unique, so colorful, and so delicious! It was the perfect place for date night and can't wait to come here for years to come! Oh, and definitely make a reservation ahead of time!

Had dinner at Uchi for the first time tonight and everything was perfect. We had several dishes and they were all really creative. The hama chili is a great appetizer. The service was excellent and Ray and Keith are both awesome!

Oh man! I don't even know how to adequately capture in words the wonderful experience my husband and I had at Uchi. First of all, I went to the original location in Austin over 10 years ago. The Weho location may be better. I don't remember being as blown away as we were with our recent dining experience. Hubs and I went to celebrate our birthdays. We were seated right away at the specific table we requested. The inside of the restaurant was bright and beautiful. Our server, Kris, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We tried a bit of every category. Every single item we tasted was exceptional. The flavors were complex and unexpected. I don't say that lightly. We are still reminiscing about the Nigiri. The fatty tuna, black bream and grouper were NEXT LEVEL! Softshell crab roll was surprisingly delicious and the flavors were perfectly layered. The banana bread and fried milk desserts were so good. They didn't do anything special for our birthday, but it was a wonderful experience anyway. That said, this place is pricey ($450 for 2) so I imagine we'd only come for special occasions. But our experience was worth the pricey tab. So good.

I arrived about 15 minutes before my reservation. We were there to celebrate a pair of birthdays in the family. The valet was polite and helpful. The area in front of the restaurant was clean and unencumbered. We stepped inside and were greeted with smiles 😃 We were seated immediately. The restaurant was busy but it is not over crowded or excessively loud. Our server (Quan) was patient, informative and very friendly. He had many suggestions and they were killer. Everything that we ate was so delicious 😋. At some point in our meal the general manager (Alfred) came over and had a conversation with the group. He seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. This was an extraordinary experience ✨️ We are all ruined for any other restaurant of this ilk 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

WOW! Is all I can say I was blown away by the experience, ambiance and food!! We sat at the bar and Raul was the most attentive, kind and experience bartender and server I have ever experienced! He recommended dishes and laughed with us he was so kind and made the dining experience so warm and welcoming!! The service was so amazing but the food was even better! 😭 The oysters are to die for and the fish nuggies are so comforting!! I recommended UCHI to anyone looking for a nice warm atmosphere with great food and great service!

I have dined at Uchi a few times and this most recent time was just a 10/10. I made a reservation for what I thought was a same day reservation, at check in I realized I had unintentionally made my reservation for the following night. The hostest who had pink tipped hair (she was amazing), was beyond accommodating and by the looks of the dining room they were booked! The hostess reassured me that she would seat us. I was genuinely expecting to be out of luck, I felt so bad for my party and for the staff. However the staff was so welcoming and kind at no point did I feel rushed or a burden. The waitress I think her name was Jess was spectacular I truly can't explain how thoughtful and attentive she was. I always liked Uchi but this experience just pushed it over there edge. O and the valet was so sweet! So from start to end 10/10.

I don’t tend to leave many reviews, but this restaurant has been such a great addition to the West Hollywood area. Everything they bring out is like a little piece of culinary art. Everything taste delicious including the drinks. Some of the sushi is hands-down the best sushi I have ever had. The Wagyu sushi was unreal and it creates such a fun experience how they set everything up and present the sushi to you. Highly recommend. We absolutely love it.

Thank you Loan and the Uchi team for going above and beyond!! We came in last night to celebrate my birthday, and was initially pulled in for Dine LA Restaurant Week, and everything was so special from start to finish. I must say it’s truly hard to find a place, especially in Los Angeles, where one can come in for great service, feel welcomed, and honored as a guest. Sure it was my birthday, and you might say that’s not special because we all have one… however, that didn’t seem to matter. They cared throughout the entire experience. I have a feeling that even if it wasn’t my birthday, the attention to detail would still be the same. At the host stand upon checked in, they wished me happy birthday, and had a birthday card sitting for me at the table when I sat down! We put in our order and throughout the meal, we were gifted a couple extra bites from our server and the chefs as an extra birthday treat. They even brought out an extra amazing dessert, which I didn’t know I had any more room for, but still ate it all because it was so delicious. During the meal we mentioned that we had just recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary and visited Japan last year for it. The tempura broccoli that we had reminded us of a special meal we shared in Nagano Japan, and we made sure to tell our server how happy it made us to eat. When it came time to leave, they stopped by with one more gift, an Uchi cookbook signed by the entire staff. At first, aside from being completely blown away by this gift, I thought it might be from some stack of books that are pre-signed for people, but no… it was custom signed to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary that we had just mentioned a few minutes before. Now I don’t know if this is standard or not, or what we did to deserve to feel so incredibly special, but I felt like their attention to detail was top-notch from start to finish. Even the basic things like clearing a finished plate as soon as it’s done, and not letting water in our glass dip below the halfway mark… the entire team all worked together to make sure the experience was truly enjoyable. Often times I find when you go out for a restaurant week, you’re not treated as well because you’re not typically spending as much as a regular customer, but this time I truly felt like a VIP. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts, we’ve already told all of our friends to come make a visit and we will definitely be back soon. Sam & Sarah

I cannot speak more highly of a dining experience than Uchi. First off, the food was incredible. Best omakase my wife and I have ever had. Secondly, our server was amazing. He took our likes and dislikes and turned it into a memorable dinner. Lastly the vibe is on point. Don’t skip Uchi. Hope to see you in NYC sooner than later.

We've been a few times over the last year and a half. Consistently great quality and wonderful service. You can tell the staff enjoy their time there. Tonight was our first time in with our little dog. The staff welcomed us for our reservation on arrival based solely on our little one. Great attention to detail! Kennedy and Andy made our dinner extra special and memorable! Thank you so much!

Love the unique flavor combinations and creative menu. Yes there are better sushi/ nigiri places in LA but I love coming here for the vibes & food quality. The service is also amazing here & I’ve never had a bad meal.

This restaurant is the BEST restaurant in all the greater Los Angeles area and has the BEST Omakase dinner for 2. The food is superb, the service is implacable, and the atmosphere is magical. Thank you, Alfred Esqueda, the General Manager for always making us feel like VIPs. Your suggestions were AMAZING! Looking forward to the next time we visit this great restaurant. We live quite far from LA but like to have a special dinner before our Pantages show. Arie Carmelli

Kwan was our top notch server. He ordered for us, stayed within our budget, made sure we enjoyed our tapas meal. We sat at the counter watching all the chefs in action, each focused and precise in their preparation. Delicious food, staff friendly and welcoming. Was it expensive? Ok yes but worth every penny!!! Try it if you’re in West Hollywood!!!

*Dine LA experience My friends and I got together after we finished our book club novel and met for dinner during dine LA. A few of us had Uchi on our list and was excited to try. We all ordered a range of cocktails and NA beverages. Everything was crafted well with a lot of yuzu notes. We all participated in the set menu curated for dine LA. Everyone’s favorites were the Hama Chili, the yellowtail was marinated in a tangy ponzu chili sauce and the mandarin oranges were sweet touch. Pork belly was another favorite and we were full at the end of our courses. We were all a bit underwhelmed by the dessert and most of us didn’t finish it. The white chocolate shell was a bit sweet and hard to eat. The yuzu filling also was polarizing for the table. The service was spectacular and the waiter even gave us a specialty salad hand roll on the house due to a longer wait time than usual. I notice that some servers treat Dine LA patrons differently but at Uchi the staff was attentive and friendly! Would come back especially for their happy hour. Each person’s tab after everything was about ~$95

My friends hyped up this place as some of the best sushi they've ever had, and brought us along. We did Somakase (not omakase), where we picked our preference for King salmon, Shima aji (striped Jack), Ootoro, Scallop, uni, and others, as well as our desired $ amount per person (we were ready to drop some $$ that night). They didn't have any shellfish. From all of that, we really liked: scallop, ootoro, dry aged steel head trout, and Shima aji with brown butter + potato chip. For dessert, I really liked the fried milk. Cocktails were good, but I can't think of any I'd recommend. Overall, the fish quality was high, but I've had tastier cuts from other reputable sushi restaurants in SoCal. The arrival pace of the dishes was a mystery; variable. And we didn't question it (Omakase by definition), but we later realized we got doubles of some dishes, and caviar, which didn't really elevate the experience. The final price tag for a party of 6 was $2.3k, which was ~$52 more per person than we had requested. Overall I had higher expectations, and I won't go back.

Food is creative but also kinda falls into a certain pattern if you try a couple more dishes. Cocktails are actually worth trying. Service is great. Friendly responsive staff. Kinda loud indoor. Hard to talk.

Had an absolutely wonderful time dining at Uchi this evening! We tried alot of fun dishes out of my usual wheelhouse under the recommendation of our wonderful server, Keith. He knew the vibe we were going for and took us on a flavorful journey through the menu. He was super attentive and my water glass was never empty. The sushi was delicious of course but the experience was made special because Keith took such good care of us. Will definitely be back!

Been here twice. The food amazed me the first time but the second time when we had the happy hour menu it wasn’t as good.

This is a Japanese fusion restaurant in WeHo. We were there to celebrate a girl friend's birthday. For the price we paid per person (4 pax), I expected a lot more from this place. Sadly, the most memorable are the Wagyu nigiri which is perfectly grilled and melts in your mouth, and two desserta (Jasmine Cream and Citrus Eclair). My girlfriends enjoyed the Zero Sen roll. The rest were average. Tyler, our server was great and did a great job at recommending dishes. While the hostess said they don't do anything special for guest's birthday, Tyler brought out a dish that was on the house to celebrate my friend's birthday. The restaurant has zen feel to it. Finally, street parking is precious and valet parking is $20.

Visited Uchi West Hollywood after dinner for some warm sake and dessert. Once you move past the snobbery from the hosts, we ordered the fried milk, banana pudding, and lime dessert. Honestly, I had high hopes for the fried milk because I’ve heard so much buzz about it, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The other two? Really great, especially the lime topping. The atmosphere was perfect, and the service was excellent. Just a heads…they don’t do birthday candles, which was a bit of a surprise, but they’re still very nice! Overall, a solid spot for dessert, just maybe lower your expectations on the fried milk. Just saying!

J
Jasmine Yang

Come for the vibes, but not the sushi. There’s nothing spectacular about the sushi. The flavor of the fish is often masked by “innovative”sauces and flavor combos that don’t always make sense. The nori on our gunkan Ikura roll was soggy by the time it was served. The rice to fish ratio in our nigiri also felt off (too much rice). Uchi felt like fusion cuisine (done poorly) to me. The ambience and environment is very nice though! And the drinks and service was excellent. I’d come again and maybe just get some drinks.

C
Chuck Griffith

Cafeteria vibes here. No sake pairings with omakase feels like a miss. This feels like just another chain restaurant and lost its way from the OG in Austin. Many many better places for sushi in the area. Overpriced and overrated.

A
Armen Tatiyants

Got there on time. Valet said, we are full. If you have parking issues and you make a big deal about being on time, you may want to mention there are parking issues. Overall the food was OK, service was good. But for the price point, I dont want a cut roll for my omakase. It was also pretty loud in there.

J
James Swim

Only come here if you want to waste your money on mediocre food and subpar service. I don’t mind high-dollar restaurants even when the food isn’t great, so long as the service makes up for it — and it did not. Not all Uchi locations are created equal, and this one misses the mark in a big way. The food took forever, multiple items had to be requested more than once — including drinks — and there were missed orders and sheer inattentiveness throughout. At one point we wanted to order more food and found ourselves just sitting there, waiting, hoping our waiter would eventually circle back. He didn’t. The food itself was dressed up as artisan sushi when in reality it was closer to grocery store takeout quality — served on decorative plates with extra ingredients thrown on top to appear visually “fancy.” If you’re looking for quality Japanese cuisine, you won’t find it here. If you just want the West Hollywood vibe and don’t care about the actual quality of the food or service, then sure, this place is for you. But for everyone else — save your money. Uchi West Hollywood, take some advice: invest in training your staff, and maybe take a trip to Japan to learn a thing or two about what preparing sushi actually means. Absolutely appalling.
