The food was incredible! The service was fine...our waitress was brand new (1st day by herself) but she did a commendable job. If she didn't know the answer to a question she would get the answer. We were there right in the middle of their lunch rush but the food still came out quickly. It was my first time eating at a Lures restaurant and although the food held up to the hype I sort of expected the restaurant itself to be a little nicer...not that it was dumpy or dirty...it just seemed more like coffee shop furnishings. Maybe it gets dressed up a bit with tablecloths and candles for the dinner service...all in all a good experience...I will go back. I want to try their Ciopino!
Lure Fish House in Westlake Village is surprisingly affordable for a very decent restaurant inside of a business area. You get a few cuisines in this one restaurant: Italian, American, and last but not least Asian. Their fresh caught dishes are Delicious and so are many other variety of choices. My favorite so far is the fish filet dish attached to my post. If you are local you know what I mean. If you are traveling here and just hungry and want good food, try this out. Service has been warm and inviting. The place can be busy based on the time of visit. So check online or call in. You can book ahead.

i went here for my mom’s birthday last night. the food and drinks were wonderful, particularly the roasted blueberry and basil margarita. however, i want to give props to julio, our waiter. he was warm, attentive, honest with his suggestions and knew the exact right times to come around. he even gave us a dessert. we didn’t tell him we were celebrating a birthday! he just picked that up- again, very attentive. thanks to Lure for a wonderful meal!
We had reservations for 9 guests plus a baby on a Friday at 6:00 PM. OUR WAITER WAS A-MAZE-ZING! Bread basket to start nearly killed me! Sooo addictive and delicious! I had sea bass. Yum! Hubby had white chowder and salad. Everyone in the group was satisfied and that really led back to that young man. He’s a keeper! Forgot to take a pic of my food but did take a pick of my friend’s oysters.
Lure continues to be my go to spot whenever I'm visiting Malibu and surrounding areas. Best seafood in Agoura Hills. Oysters are delicious. Their weekday happy hour is the best. David always delivers exceptional customer service.
One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. Everything we ordered was excellent: preparation, plating, temperature, and of course, taste. Add to that a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and Lure Fish House is the place for high-end meals. Is it expensive? Yes, but well worth the price. Also, ask for Cortni – she’s the best! One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be difficult to find close to the entrance, especially during busy times. More parking is available in BFE if you don’t mind walking.
We didn't have a lot of time but wanted to stop at our favorite small chain of Fish restaurants in and around Ventura County. This was our first time at Lure in Westlake and they didn't disappoint us. They got us in really quick even though they were busy. A server that I stopped to ask were our server was, because we were in a hurry, was kind enough to stop what he was doing and take our order. Food came quickly and really hot. Their fish, shrimp, and fries is fantastic. While you wait they serve the best hot sourdough loaf with butter. They don't wait for your server to bring your food from the kitchen. They have anyone that is available bring it to your table so you get it nice and hot. All the staff was super nice and went out of there way to get us back on the road and to our destination.
Decided to stop by at Lure for lunch today. We got the Rock Shrimp Appetizer (I always get the sauce on the side) and it was delicious. We both got the lunch special fried fish sandwich with fries. The fried cod at Lure is always delicious. The fries were perfect, I order them extra crispy. I didn't love the coleslaw on the sandwich as it had chunks of pineapple in it and was too sweet for me but if you like sweet slaw, you may enjoy it. Their tartar sauce is really good so next time I'll get the coleslaw on the side..and always an extra side of tartar sauce to dip the fries in, too.
Lure is our to-go for special events. We came this time as a group of 6 for my father’s birthday. On a Tuesday night, we had about a 20 min wait. I had ordered the Almondine trout with roasted Brussels sprouts and cilantro corn. The food was very tasty and is my all time favorite. I loved the dim light ambiance. The server was very helpful and constantly checked in on us. They were very accommodating to my parents diet restrictions and did low salt for their fish entree. They also did something special for my father’s birthday with ice cream. We will definitely come again soon!
Had a good experience here when my networking group met there for lunch on 9/26/25. Our server was prompt, friendly and helpful. The bread was warm and everyone was pleased with their food. I got the ahi poke bowl off the lunch menu. The only downside is the parking can be tricky bec the lot is shared with two other restaurants and a hotel.
I’ve been to the Santa Barbara Lure and the Westlake Village restaurant did not disappoint. The beach-themed decor makes the place feel cozy! Food was amazing. We ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon and Fish/Shrimp and Chips. Both are perfect and tasty. The fish/shrimp batter is thin and crispy. They have an ample selection of drinks. Our server Sara was attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back!
Lure Fish House reeled us in and impressed with a dazzling experience—a sumptuous meal, refreshing drinks, and tremendous service. As delightful as the food was getting to know our server and bartender Brittney, who has worked at Lure for many years, and is well respected in the Westlake community. We started our meal with cocktails, a roasted blueberry basil margarita for and the Lure Sangria for (made to order—Sean’s was a white sangria with peach purée, raspberries, and roasted blueberries). Sean loves raw oysters and was impressed with the freshness of the Kumamoto oysters from Baja California. I prefer oysters baked. Lure’s charbroiled Evening Cove oysters from British Columbia with parmesan were addictive. We also enjoyed a colorful ceviche with a variety of seafood, and a highlight was the miso glazed sea bass skewers—which combine sweet and savory and smoky flavors. Make sure to order that appetizer! For our main course, we enjoyed shrimp tacos, lobster ravioli, and Sally’s sand dabs. Served with a choice of sides (we chose sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts), the wild caught sand dabs were delicious in Lure’s lemon caper sauce. Our favorite was the lobster ravioli. Lure provides a generous portion, baked to perfection. Nestled between Los Angeles and Ventura, Lure Fish House is a great place to stop for dinner when visiting the area or passing through. It was a lovely day trip for us through the Malibu canyons from the coastal chill to the relative warmth of the valley. The restaurant is spacious and is a lovely spot for a date night that can also accommodate larger parties. There’s a lovely patio area with both water and fire features. We enjoyed hanging out at the bar after dinner and got to meet some of the locals who were very friendly.

I ordered the Shrimp with Scallops, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Clam Chowder was rich and creamy, a true delight. We paired our meal with a bottle of wine from their well-curated selection, which complemented the seafood beautifully. The ambiance was inviting, with a coastal charm that made our visit memorable. Highly recommend for seafood lovers.
I love seafood and this place had very good seafood. Little bit on the pricey side, but the food was well worth it. This place also had some delicious bread. We got the seared sesame tuna and the swordfish. Both were divine, though we both agreed the tuna was better. I would definitely recommend getting the parmesan potato cake as a side! Service was friendly and atmosphere was good. We sat outside on the patio and they had booths out there which was awesome. Definitely would recommend this fish restaurant if you want some fresh fish.

Walked in and waited for a booth to be cleaned for us. Host very active in securing us a spot. Waiter very attentive and our wine brought promptly to the table. Order placed and food arrived in a timely manner. Seasonal salad with salmon were both done perfectly. Fish, shrimp, and chips were good. Fish a bit wet inside the fry though, but still tasty. Chips were actually skinny fries, but tasty as well. Coleslaw really good with a touch of pineapple. Great match for the Chardonnay from Monterrey. #stevensleavin
We had a very positive experience here on a Sunday evening. The service was great, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant and not too noisy. For a party of five, our wait was only about 15 minutes. The daily specials, including the swordfish, rockfish, and salmon, were all excellent, as was the Trout Almondine from the signature menu. The sides were also a highlight—we particularly enjoyed the sweet potato fries and pineapple coleslaw. The only item I wouldn't recommend is the clam chowder, which was average. Parking was also a breeze in the large shared lot.
Good place to get some decent seafood and a fairly clean restaurant. The food is fresh and hot. Just hope the services a notch better to keep the glasses filled with water and soda without customers asking.
