Every time I've gotten food here, it was amazing. If you want mouthwatering goodness, you come here. The only thing is that they're the only Chinese place in Geneseo, the next place being in Lakeville.

Food was amazing. They said a 10 minute wait, but it ended up being only like 5! Though there was a pair of flip flops on the floor. Not bad or anything, just odd and kind of funny!

Main Moon gives you exactly what you would expect for some takeout Chinese food. They have an extensive menu so there are options for everyone. I’m a big fan of the Boneless Spare Rib Combo and the Fried Pork Dumplings. It is a family business and the prices are more than fair. Delivery is quick and the food is always hot. If you’re in the mood for some takeout Main Moon is a great option.

This is my favorite Chinese food place in Livingston County NY... I'm from NYC and Ive tried them all. Their food is good and made to order. The resurant has had limited access for a few years so everything is take out.

However next time I get fried rice I’ll skip on the chicken and just get plain because the chicken is questionable and chewy. Was nervous to try based on all the 1 star reviews but it really isn’t that bad.

It's Chinese food, but it's about as bland and basic as you can get. It's not bad, just completely not spectacular.

I eat this slop weekly because it's the only Chinese food nearby and I am disgusted with myself every time. Learn to THICKEN THE SAUCE. You can't just mix the ingredients together and throw them over chicken, you have to apply heat! If they did that, maybe they could disguise the fact that the chicken is barely fried. 3/5 because the family that runs it is nice.

The food wasnt terrible. It also wasnt what we expected from frequently ordering chinese food along the east coast. We ordered two general tso's extra crispy and extra spicy, they werent spicy at all. We also ordered szechuan beef that was interesting but again not what we expected.

Truthfully I like the chinese food, But in some exceptions. I will say it all depends at random times you go. I've had some hard chicken from either general tso's or sesame chicken. I dont recommend this place. The food just isn't good or worth the money they charge. No flavor. Not cooked right. Just disappointed.

Used to get great food and fast delivery. Now it seems like the more we order from here, the more rude they become. The food had also gotten slowly worse. My boyfriend always got egg drop soup, the last few times he got it, it was disgusting and gooey. The woman who answered my call about using my credit card was impatient and rude. She hung up on me after getting my credit card number before I could say anything else. Needless to say, I'm debating on taking my money elsewhere.

Sesame chicken was ok , chicken lo mein was the worst I've ever had in my life, it's white like spaghetti, thin chicken slices had the appearance of being uncooked (even though it was probably cooked).The dish didn't even have that' lo mein flavor,the dish was just bland.

Although the staff was very nice, the food was a total disappointment. The Mei fun was extremely salty, the beef in the lo mein was fatty and the chicken in the General Tso was hard and dry. Nothing was flavorful and all of the noodles were way too soft, soggy and overcooked to the point of breaking apart. Tables were not very clean. Won't be eating here again when in Geneseo.

Really awful “Chinese” food - and the worst bean curd you can imagine. Sauces are thin and watery. Everything is bland and tasteless. Only edible if you’re baked or drunk and you’ll be all too aware you’re eating one of the worst meals you’ve had in recent memory. (I gave this place 3 chances)

First, they charged us for a combo that we said we no longer wanted, which wouldn't have been an issue if the food was actually good. Next, all of the food was bland and dry. The general tso's and orange chicken was dry, very thin sauce, had no breading so it wasn't crispy and had absolutely no seasoning. We asked for extra sauce on the lo mein because we saw the pictures of it online, and it was still as white as me. We added mad soy sauce packets and it was still just bland noodles. We also tried their crab rangoons and they tasted old, like day old, as if they've been sitting out and reheated for our order. They also had a sweet and sour sauce, the one the use for the chicken, instead of a sweet chili sauce like most places downstate have. Staff was nice but it was such a terrible experience and a waste of money. Will not be going back and do not reccommend to others!

Dinner portions very small for high prices

Wasn't that great b4 now with covid-19 just the absolute worst. Everything was very old hard crusty or full on soggy. Not the first time for me at main moon but the last. Avoid this place just a matter of time till someone gets food poisoning.

I don't usually write restaurant reviews. I'm not a food connoisseur, but I felt compelled after I bought some take-out kung pao and sesame chicken. The only good thing I can say was that the rice was delicious. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the chicken was fried yesterday. In both cases, it was as overcooked and as hard as a rock. It was tasteless. Find someplace else.

I just ordered take out from this resteraunt today and I was so disgusted that I instantly had to write this review. I spent 50 dollars and got straight garbage, they burnt my shrimp toast, the chicken was not even edible and everything tasted and looked like it was 2 weeks old. I just tried to call for a delivery order I'm just passing through I'm staying at a hotel here in town. the man I spoke with told me he'd understand what I was asking for all I wanted was steamed mixed vegetables with shrimp. he told me he didn't know what I was talking about and he kept using the words what do you want. I apologize and said if I'm bothering him I can order from somewhere else . he said you go ahead and do that and hung up the phone on me. How do i start? Well my girlfriend called and they told her that they don't deliver in leicester unless it's a 25 dollar minimum which is understandable if they would've taken the order first and saw that we were over the minimum in the first place. Gave her attitude throughout the whole order. When she asked for fortune cookies the guy said it comes with two and hung up before telling her how much it would be. My girlfriend has been in the service industry for a long time and you don't piss her off so when he got to our place for delivery I asked how much it was and he yelled "29 dollar" which pissed me off so i gave him 29 exactly and he says "NO TIP?". I shut the door in his face and we will never order from these hacks again. Food was disgusting and under cooked. Egg rolls were full of grease. F!%k you main moon. Coming from NYC to Geneseo has had its good and bad traits. The worse is eating from Main Moon. The food is sooo expensive and it’s so bland. The gravy for the shrimp and broccoli is so watery and flavorless!! The general tso chicken is extra crispy and I don’t ask for extra crispy and they are extremely cheap with the duck sauce. Which might I add you need to had some type of flavin to the food. And yea I let it be known I’m from Brooklyn we love our duck sauce. Oh boy that was the wrong thing to say. My daughter was told off about the difference between the price and the location. So with all this being said if you want dry over cooked and flavorless food go ahead an order here. Might I add they gave us the most stale fortune cookies omg such a disappointment. I will be making my own Chinese food at home!!

What happened? Can I give this zero stars? I used to come here all the time 6 years ago and it was awesome every single time. Exactly what you'd expect from a Chinese place in a small town. Now, zero flavor, zero sauce, General Tsaos that could be Sesame Chicken, could be made with Tabasco? Who knows because it doesn't taste like anything. Same with the Sesame Chicken minus the hot sauce issue. Thank you for being open on Easter but what's the point if you're just gonna be making tasteless food?

We ordered sesame chicken and vegi-lo mein for takeout and the sesame chicken was very dry and it looked like there was pork in it. Much of the chicken chunks were tiny. The vegi-lomein was basically salty spaghetti with very little vegetables. They didn't even put any fortune cookies in the bag. We got a couple vegi rolls and they weren't very flavored. I was very disappointed as was my family. We had a negative experience with the food there a few years ago and figured we'd give them another chance. All we got was another disappointment.

This was the first and last food I will get from this place. The egg rolls were tough, so tough they couldn't be chewed. Ribs were black, dry. Felt like wood slivers in my mouth. Tasted horrible. Couldn't eat the food, a waste of money

Purchased Beef Egg Fu Young, one of my very fav dishes. Got it home. Took one bite, spit it out and threw the entire container out. That was my first and last experience with Main Moon. If you want good Chinese food, go to Avon, China Garden. I was totally depressed as I was so in the mood for the item I purchased.

Sesame shrimp was burnt and the batter was all soggy. The shrimp were way overcooked and tasted like burnt oil. I couldn’t eat them my shrimp eggrolls were way overcooked They were dark, brown and hard and crunchy. My daughter, sesame chicken was also dry and tasted like burn oil all in all we threw out probably $60 worth of our Chinese dinner. I called they said sorry but that was it. I will say that the owners if that’s who they were inside were very nice and pleasant when we’re there, but the food was terrible. I have never thrown out Chinese food before. Usually the leftovers are just as good the next day I couldn’t even eat it the first night.

Absolutely DISGUSTING. the sesame chicken?!! i have never seen or tasted anything like what i consumed, chewy, smelled rancid, the “sauce” i don’t know if it could’ve got any more water like…EW. I ordered 2 meals one was French fries with chicken wings for my husband and the other was an order of plain fried rice with chicken wings and both meals the chicken had a sour smell and taste to them... NO I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN!!!

Beyond disappointed. I've never had Chinese food taste so bad. The sesame chicken tasted like nothing I have ever had before. Even the egg rolls were bad. Only Chinese place in geneseo.forsy and last time ordering unfortunately.

The chicken was either over cooked or old, it was tough and hard to eat. The crab Rangoon was horrible. My son and I ended up throwing it all out and it wasn't cheap for the 2 of us was $50. Won't order from there again.

The place is not clean and smells, the food is frozen food I seen them open the box and microwave it then serve it. the price is mad expansive for no reason. at this point if you want food get Walmart frozen food it test batter and its cheaper.

Sesame shrimp was burnt and the batter was all soggy. The shrimp were way overcooked and tasted like burnt oil. I couldn’t eat them my shrimp eggrolls were way overcooked They were dark, brown and hard and crunchy. My daughter, sesame chicken was also dry and tasted like burn oil all in all we threw out probably $60 worth of our Chinese dinner. I called they said sorry but that was it. I will say that the owners if that’s who they were inside were very nice and pleasant when we’re there, but the food was terrible. I have never thrown out Chinese food before. Usually the leftovers are just as good the next day I couldn’t even eat it the first night.
