The French Cafe in Hamlin is a highly-rated spot with a Parisian atmosphere. Customers rave about the flavorful coffee, especially the Cafe Hamlin, and the variety of croissants. The service is friendly and efficient, even during busy brunch hours.
Tip: The cafe can get busy, especially on weekends for brunch, but the line moves quickly. Consider trying the croissants and the Cafe Hamlin.
This is such a charming authentic French cafe! It’s boutique style. They stand for their famous brunches and pastries. The coffee menu has a big diversity. I visited this place with my cousins and chose to sit on the patio, which was perfect for enjoying the fresh air. Our coffee drinks were the Hamlinccino and the Dubai latte, they were rich in flavor. The Hamlinccino has a spice flavor that reminds me autumn, and the Dubai has a nutty creamy flavor. They were perfectly balanced, not too sweet. We also ordered the tortilla omelette, the savory Julian’s crêpe, and the Italian panini. It was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to go back. A few highlights: it’s gets busy at some times, you order at the counter and they bring you the food to the table. My recommendation is to seat outdoor which is more spacious and you can enjoy the nice weather during this months.
I’d like to start by saying it was a Saturday morning and it was very very busy. Line out the door busy. I got in line and ordered my food. I ordered the Parisan breakfast, the Dubai latte, and 2 pastries. After ordering I was given a number and chose a seat outside. I loved the atmosphere it was busy but once I sat down it wasn’t overwhelmingly so. They brought my pastries out almost immediately but I wanted to save them for last so I took a bite but waited. My food came out shortly after. This is where I was having issues. My eggs were overcooked which is fine, it’s not what I ordered however I understand it’s easy to overcook over easy eggs. So I didn’t say anything about that. However I had also not gotten my drink yet and had nothing to drink with my food. I waited almost 30+ minutes for my drink. By the time I got it my breakfast was cold. Due to my own preferences I wasn’t a fan of the latte. Despite all of this I am not angry. Sure I was a little dissapointed in my expierience however I do not blame the company for this. That is why I am still giving a 5 star review. While I do think the communication between people serving kitchen and people serving coffees was lacking I can understand with how busy it is. The employees were very courteous to me and even provided me a refund for the breakfast as well as the latte which I thought was very kind. I’ve only come here to give an honest depiction of my expierience on a Saturday morning. My message to the staff is that I see you were working very hard and I will be back perhaps just in a less busy day. You were all very kind and accommodating to my concerns and I truly appreciate it. This is a very nice little cafe in a very nice area.
Shout out to team member Amine! Amine was lovely he seemed to always pop up the moment we needed somethin, he was really fast and seemed pretty happy about getting us everything we needed!! This place is a great breakfast//brunch place I got the southwest salad and it might be the best salad I’ve ever eaten😭😭 and the pastry’s are on point!! I’d 10000% go back if I lived here💔
Came here bc of recommendations on Instagram and it did not disappoint! My husband and I had the chicken salad croissant and the Dubai crepe to eat and they were delicious! He also had the tiramisu latte, which he said was strong, but did enjoy it. I had the Dubai chocolate latte, which was delicious! Both of these lattes are not very sweet, so if you prefer sweeter coffee drinks, I’m sure you can add sweetener to your liking. Overall enjoyed our dining experience!
I simply love The French Cafe. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the charm and style of the place. I absolutely love their aesthetic and the way everything feels thoughtfully put together. One thing that makes such a difference for me is that they have photos on the menu. It makes choosing so much easier and more exciting, especially when everything looks delicious. They also have so many food options, whether you are in the mood for something sweet, savory, light, or indulgent. They also have amazing French food options that truly make me feel like I am in France. Every bite gives that authentic French café experience, from the pastries to the savory dishes. The environment is spacious and comfortable, which I really appreciate. Even when it is full and busy, it never feels chaotic. And the best part is that the food still comes out quickly, which shows how organized and professional the team is. Amazing atmosphere, great variety, fast service, and beautiful presentation. Definitely a five star experience every time.
I had been wanting to try this cafe for awhile now and was so happy to try it today! They have a wide range of options from sweet to savory! We chose both 😆 We had a banana and Nutella crepe which was so good! We enjoyed their breakfast crossaint sandwiches the bacon egg and cheese and the eggs Benedict crossaint both delicious. The coffees were super tasty as well with a variety of options to choose from. They also have kids menu! The girls enjoyed chocolate Nutella mickey mouse waffles so fun!! Will be back to try lunch!
Love this hidden gem in Hamlin! My husband and I love coming here for afternoon lunches and morning breakfast meetings! The food is always so fresh and staff goes above and beyond. Adam was exceptional he was super attentive and had impeccable table side manner. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!
This place was awesome! Smells really good in there and the food was delightful! Our favorites were the panini and the crepe and the croissants were very delicious in the lunch items and desserts! Also had the best omelette ever here with salmon inside was 100/10! Shoutout to Marwa she was great!! our post on ig wishyouwerehere 360 will show more
Delicious food! Get ready to wait a little bit for your oder to come to the table. It get busy on Sundays brunch. The staff members still adjusting to getting orders out on time per check. It was common for part of the order to be brought put while waiting a long time for the rest. But everything else is good.
My wife and I love coming here. The food is always fantastic. And they are my favorite place for coffee in the area. I get their latte with lavender (not a lot of places have lavender and the ones that to do over do it) it hits the spot every time. Mariana always takes our order and is such a pleasure! Always kind and able to explain anything on the menu when we have questions. We always recommend to friends and family when they come to visit.
Really authentic French bakery café. Their breakfast croissants and coffee are rich and high quality. Adam and the entire staff were very nice and professional. We drove 40 minutes to get here and will definitely be coming back!
I can’t Rave about this place enough. This is legitimately a 5star restaurant! Food quality and taste is beyond what I was expecting. I’m blessed to know this place is only 15 minutes away from my home!!! Adam was our server and he was great! kind, attentive and professional! Love this place
THIS IS AN AMAZING PLACE! First of all, I'm glad I ignored the reviews and went here. From start to walking out, the experience was amazing. The cashier, the young lady that some people left poor reviews about, was nothing but A DELIGHT! She smiled a lot, she was VERY accommodating, she really did an amazing job! Let me mention that I gave her a compliment, and that made her dark eyes even more beautiful and her soul shine. So maybe, maybe, next time you expect or demand something, stop expecting and demanding and just be kind to the people who are serving your food. The servers/runners are also eager to help, smiling, and fast. The bussers are all kind and grateful if you don’t just pass them but hold a door for them. I was there with my friend, and just to be sure I’m not delusional, I confirmed with her, she had the best experience too. If you are kind and grateful, the staff is kind and grateful to you! Just get off your horse and be more open to people. And now to the food. We ordered raspberry, lemon, and peach cakes, which were FANTASTIC. Those people that say these items lack flavor might have just forgotten how to enjoy subtle flavors without overly sweet sweetness. This café is called The French Café, they’re not using tons of sugar in France. We also had a crème brûlée, and let me tell you this, I do not like crème brûlée at all, I ordered that for my friend, and typically find myself not feeling well after. BUT goodness gracious, this is the best and the only crème brûlée in the whole world that I actually LOVED. For the savory food, we had the salmon crepe, which was very tasty. The sauce they used perfectly complements the real taste of salmon. Also, a small note, it is not smoked salmon. Not that it made it bad, just so you won’t expect a smoked salmon taste. And last but not least, the onion soup. I've tried probably 70 different onion soups around the world. I have a special restaurant in Paris with an amazing soup, but this place in Orlando got me in shock. I had no good expectations, ordered it because it’s a classic item on any French menu. I'm not sure how exactly they were able to do that, but this is seriously THE BEST ONION SOUP I've ever tried. It might not even be authentic by taste, but whatever their recipe is, it’s just perfect. For drinks, we had two different teas, which were great, and a Dubai latte, which was beautiful-looking and great-tasting. Me and my friend are not social media people, so it didn’t matter to us that this place is hyped. We just love French cuisine. And this place is definitely in our top 3 places in Florida.
We messed up our order multiple times due to the pressure of other customers waiting behind us. Honestly, staff (especially the lady named Raza) made it better and serviced our tiny little issue with a smile and empathy. Customer service is beyond outstanding and food was even better. We are the customers for life due to our pleasant experience today. The cooks and baristas made everything so quick and amazing. We will be back for sure. All hype was worth it!
My visit to The French Café in Hamlin was pure magic! Alae, the manager, and her staff were absolutely amazing—super warm, attentive, and passionate about everything. The food was phenomenal; with my background in culinary arts, I can honestly say it was some of the best I’ve ever had in my life, true gourmet quality that blew me away. An experience second to none—I’ll be back soon!
The artwork on the walls is outstanding. It is all original art by local artists and it's available for purchase. Highly recommend checking it out! Juliana, Marwa and Joao were very welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu and were quick to get our food to the table. The food is eclectic and well prepared. Highly recommend!
I went there on a Sunday morning and it was packed. Waited in line for about 20 mins, ordered and fortunately got a table outside to sit. They offer variety of breakfast and bakery treats. Everything looks so good. My food was yummy. That's why it was so crowded, people love it. Staffs are so friendly as well.
Absolutely wonderful experience! French Café was truly amazing from start to finish. The atmosphere is charming and welcoming, the food was delicious and beautifully prepared, and the overall quality exceeded our expectations. The service was outstanding — very friendly, attentive, and professional. We were assisted by María and Mariana, who made our visit even more special with their kindness and great attitude. Everything was simply perfect. Without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!
What a great little French pastry and coffee shop. I found this place on Google while searching for new places to try and I was not disappointed. The fruit tarts are light, fresh and delicious. I also had the opportunity to try a chocolate pistachio cake and assorted coffees. The cake, this was a very decadent dessert. Layered chocolate cake with chocolate pistachio shell on the sides and a thin layer of pistachio butter on top. I am adding photos as well. We also chose a pina colada drink, the white chocolate frappe and a tiramisu drink. They have so many choices that you really can’t go wrong. They have art by local artists all over the walls that you can purchase. And very eclectic decor. I highly recommend this establishment.
It is an excellent place to stop and have a magnificent coffee with a croissant that I think is the perfect pairing. Of the crepes, I tried the veggie one and the savory option was delicious, but the truth is I would have preferred to choose the completely sweet option like with Nutella and fruit, it is a matter of taste. Now, if you want to spend more time and share a pleasant moment, the brunch options caught my attention, so I will return with friends.
The French Café on New Independence is a cozy spot with fresh, made-from-scratch pastries, great croissants, and a solid breakfast menu. The vibe is relaxed, and the service was warm — Susej, who attended me, was especially friendly and attentive. Overall, a reliable place for a tasty breakfast or brunch.
Went there for breakfast, granted it was on a Monday morning, not a whole lot of people to deal with, it started getting crowded after we left, plenty of seating inside and out, just the occasional people standing around and not knowing what to order, starting at the wall and menu, overall the food was great and the ambience lovely, definitely will comeback and recommend.
If you are looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch with excellent customer service, you must go to French Café. They have an amazing menu, food and coffee are delicious and the staff team creates an outstanding experience with exceptional service. Today Alae, Marwa and Abrare assisted us and they are very sweet.
This place is amazing! They have a great variety of food, pastries, and drinks to choose from. I ordered the tomato soup and the southwest sandwich, and both were delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. Definitely recommend checking it out!
This is our second time having breakfast here and it was even better than the first time. Marion’s took our order and was the absolute sweetest! She was attentive and her smile was so contagious! I am a server as well so I always pay attention to the level of service. Amine was just a darling, spreading his smile to every table. I had to mention it even though he was working other tables. His joy was hard to miss. This weekend was my son’s birthday and this was the perfect way to end it! Thank you guys for sending us home with happy hearts and full bellies !! ❤️
I had a really nice experience at The French Café. Ana was the one who helped me and she was super kind and attentive the whole time. She made me feel really welcome and made sure everything was good. The service was great. I’d definitely come back!
My girlfriend and her mother just returned from the French Cafe, and after the visit they had, I was compelled to write a review on their behalf about their experience. It was a little on the busy side, and at first there were no available places to sit inside, but the kind Juliana and Anna who work their made arrangements so that they would not have to sit outside in the scorching summer weather. My girlfriend and her mother were very pleased with the friendliness and effort of the staff. They said the food was really good and the environment was nice and welcoming. To the staff at the French Cafe in Hamlin, thank you for taking care of them and going above and beyond. My girlfriend brought me back a delicious chocolate dessert and I am looking forward to visiting the French Cafe myself.
The coffee is AMAZING! Perfect for a coffee lover 😍 The food was really good, however, It was a little cold. I ordered the classic eggs benedicts. My friend ordered the bubble waffles and they were delicious, very soft. Overall I enjoyed it and I really want to come back and try more of their menu!
Hi Folks, thanks for this amazing place. I was on my holidays here and there. I visited your state and found this Café with incredible atmosphere. I had a very nice experience, the food was delicious, not too expensive and the service was excellent. thanks to the waitress Juliana servicing our table with very good attitude. Praising her recommendations I have to say my plate was beautiful. I certainly recomended this place.
If you want to go somewhere where the customer service is amazing and the food even better, this is the place. I come here frequently to drink coffee because of just how good it is. And every time I walk in the workers always have a smile on their face. It’s calm peaceful and beautifully decorated. Our server, AMEN, is very respectful as well as always being cheerful. The food and coffee is great and I will be coming again. 💕☺️
I had such a lovely experience at this French coffee shop. The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and feels like a little piece of Paris. The coffee was absolutely delicious — rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. You can really taste the quality. The pastries were fresh and so flavorful, especially the croissants. Everything felt authentic and beautifully presented. The staff was welcoming and kind, which made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I visited The French Café for my birthday, and it ended up being one of the best decisions I could’ve made. The place has such a calm, elegant vibe, and the presentation of everything is on another level. The coffee was absolutely incredible smooth, rich, and crafted with so much detail. The cup with the pistachio rim was honestly unforgettable, both visually and in flavor. The service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt special from start to finish. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with amazing drinks and beautiful latte art, this café is definitely worth the visit. I’ll 100% be coming back.
This place had such an amazing atmosphere and delightful food. I went with my family and stayed there for hours! As soon as you enter the place you can smell the delicious scent of the coffee they prepare. In addition, the servers were extremely welcoming and attentive, especially Juliana. She was the one serving me and was exceptionally kind and understanding. She gave me recommendations of the food and made sure me and my family were happy with the experience.
I love stopping by this French café for a latte and a fresh pastry. The staff is always friendly, and the beautiful patio makes it the perfect spot to relax whether you’re catching up with friends and family or getting some laptop work done. A great place with an even better atmosphere! Merci.
Excellent french cafe. The coffee and teas are next level. They are not overly sweet and contain real ingredients versus mixes. We ordered an expresso latte and a chai latte. Both outstanding. For dessert we ordered a hazelnut crunch cake and a creme brulee. The creme presentation was so much fun!! It was literally fire. The crunch cake while good leaned a little more soggy than crunchy. My friend liked it but it was not for me. They have food and beverages you can order and also a dessert and pastries counter. They also have fresh pressed juices and milkshakes. While we were there the staff were very friendly, attentive and keeping things clean. We did not order food but saw someone ordered a salad and it looked fresh and big! The food menu is huge and we were told you can order breakfast items all day. So next time for sure! If you want a delicious and visually beautiful coffee, smoothie, fruit juice or tea I would definately check it out.
We went this morning to The French Cafe to celebrate my mom’s Birthday. We never went before and were not disappointed. One of the friendly staff members, Marwa, brought out a Happy Birthday platter with two delicious tarts on it and her and other staff sang Happy Birthday to my mom. What a lovely and kind surprise! Thank you Marwa for going above and beyond. That meant so much to my mom. We loved the thoughtfulness and friendly staff. The food was delicious! We both ordered the eggs Benedict croissant sandwiches. I also had the Dubai latte, so delicious! It was a wonderful first time experience! Highly recommend!
The French Café is absolutely wonderful! Their coffees are rich and flavorful, and the menu has amazing options for any time of day. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and delicious. On top of that, the staff is always friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend The French Café to everyone — you definitely need to come and check it out!
I visited The French Café in Florida and instantly felt transported like I had stumbled into a little Parisian corner tucked away in the middle of town. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the smell of buttery croissants, freshly brewed coffee, and the kind of cozy ambiance that makes you want to stay for hours. I started with a cappuccino, and wow… it was everything I needed that morning bold, creamy, and topped with the most delicate latte art. I also tried their Pistacchio latte and was surprised by how balanced and soothing it was. For food, I went all in and ordered the Croque Madame, which was absolutely perfect. Crispy toast, melted cheese, layers of ham, and that rich béchamel sauce finished with a runny egg on top chef’s kiss. Every bite was warm, savory, and satisfying. It came with a little side salad that was light and fresh, which balanced the dish beautifully. Of course, I couldn’t leave without diving into their pastry section. The almond croissant was flaky, soft inside, and had just the right touch of sweetness from the almond filling. And the French toast? Unreal. Stuffed with mascarpone and topped with fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup it was rich, creamy, and comforting without being too heavy. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail not just in the food, but in the service and vibe. The staff was super friendly and made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time. The whole experience felt intentional, cozy, and truly special. If you’re ever in the area and craving a beautiful breakfast or brunch whether you’re team sweet, savory, or both The French Café is a must. It’s not just a place to eat, it’s a place to enjoy the moment.
My mil, husband and I went here for lunch and we got two croissants and creme bule french toast. At first, our croissants were cold, but they quickly changed it to new ones and it was delightful! We also got desserts: pistachio cake, dubai chocolate, and chocolate tiramisu cup; and moroccan tea for sharing. I have to say the chocolate tiramisu cup is the winner! 10/10! So good and it’s definitely my fave!
The place is excellent , from its service and food quality to the short and reasonable waiting time. It has a great atmosphere for going with friends and having a pleasant conversation while enjoying a good cup of coffee. It will definitely be one of my favorite brunch spots.
Hands down, I’m thrilled I’ve found the best tart in the city! The apple tart stole my heart, it looked like a tiny tree, and you could tell how much imagination and meticulous work went into it. Like perfect texture, balanced sweetness, and the most adorable seasonal design, I loved it!!!!!!!! I have such a sweet tooth and I love exploring new places, so when I was Googling pastries and cakes, I was excited to find this spot not far from where I live. The creativity in their designs really sets them apart. The coffee was great, and the chocolate mousse had a strong, rich chocolate flavor! It was absolute perfection :)
The French Café is truly magical. I absolutely love coming here. The atmosphere, the food, and the whole experience make it such a special place. Every visit feels wonderful and memorable. Thank you, Julianna, for your courtesy and kindness you always make the experience even more special.
and we would also like to express our sincere compliments to Aynan for her impeccable work. Her kindness, attention to detail, the spectacular food, the warm service, and the care put into creating such a welcoming environment made our experience truly special. Everything was absolutely flawless."
They food is incredibly amazing and the size of the portions are fulfilling leaving you with something to take home if you wish. The drinks taste so organic and mouthwatering. Their utensils are squeaky clean as well as the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. I’d rate my experience a 10/10 and would recommend this place to anyone!
It was truly a delightful experience. I enjoyed every part of it. I ordered the Southwest Salad and it was absolutely delicious. However, the best part of my visit was the outstanding customer service. My server, Julianna, was amazing—very attentive, sweet, and kind. She helped me with everything I needed and made the whole experience even better. Shout out to the wonderful team at the French Café. Perfection all around!
I stopped by The French Café in Winter Garden and was genuinely impressed. The brunch à la brioche was absolutely delicious, and their sweet pastries were just as amazing and fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The service is incredibly fast, and everyone there is so kind and helpful. A special shout‑out to Juliana, who made the experience even better with her friendly and attentive service. Highly recommend this spot for a cozy, delicious brunch.
My sis and i came here after my endoscopy. The drinks are beautifully made , the sandwich was well toasted and stayed hot, which I enjoyed so much. The salad was delicious. The almond taste was so delicious and not overly sweet. Presentation is great and taste is great. The manager is super sweet and welcoming and i appreciate him for that. He deserves hugs and appreciation. The chai needs more spice , its not bad at all just missing that extra umphff Ya know. Over all our money was very well spent here. They serve delicious food and are not stingy. We really enjoyed our meal.
We really love this place. We come here all the time. The only problem is everybody else loves it too and so it can be super busy. Sometimes it’s hard to find a table and they might get the order wrong on occasion, but everything is so good that we keep coming back regardless. Best coffee in Winter Garden. Very unique menu items!
The food is amazing full of flavor it’s worth it , definitely a place to try a lot of options. Sadly it’s kind of small and gets packed and they don’t seat you so you have to order and grab a seat. I came in sat down looked at the menu got up to order and someone took my seat because they don’t take your order at the table. Other than that I truly enjoyed it and will try it again!
I will come back for a second chance. Today was not the best performance. I truly believe in supporting small businesses. I hope to see you all again soon! The espresso and coffee was outstanding. I hope to get an opportunity to try the food next time. Check # 398 on 2/28/26 at 4:46pm
I had croque monsour. Apparently it’s served with Sandwich only. A side order of potatoes was expensive. The sandwich was not as authentic as I expected because it had a cheddar cheese topping. I would have had a croissant, but they were cooked very well and I prefer light and crispy Ordered a large coffee in a to go cup and while the cup was large, the coffee was only about 3/4 full.
Medium sized establishment with nice patio tables under cover. Friendly staff, nice decor and a broad menu. Seems to get pretty busy so I’d suggest going outside of typical rush hours (I went at 3pm). Coffee selection is awesome, got the coffee flight and had a fun time discovering what was what but would be cool to have them identified. Crepe was delicious but as a single Braun g item it could become overwhelming. Croissant was incredible- would absolutely get it again. French toast were a bit dry but thick and flavorFul.
Went to this place following their Dubai featured breakfast items. The service is great. The food was very good. Out of the Dubai offered items I did the Dubai chocolate crepe and it was delicious. The atmosphere I gave it one star… they should consider having bar code scan where you can order sitting at the table instead of doing the big line then go try to fish a table. I went on sunday so it was busy, went with three other people and we were all on separate checks so we had to make turns to order while one guarded the table …it’s a great place to go eat but the fishing for tables can really mess up the vibe.
This could be a really great place… despite lacking actual table service. Here’s an idea you have 20 food runners on why not get your team together and provide actual table service with ACTUAL SERVERS. Lack of communication is quite obvious you guys don’t even know what you are dishing out or Not dishing out of the kitchen… never got my food! The food that we did get was amazing, however lack of service turned into a huge disappointment. TOO MANY DIRTY TABLES!!! Couldn’t even find somewhere to sit and when I did at a dirty table nobody offered to clean it off… I really wanted this place to be great 😩
The waitress didn't know what to offer from the menu; in other words, she didn't know what she was selling. The food was okay, the menu was varied, but I thought it was a bit expensive for breakfast without a special occasion. I ordered a pistachio affogato, it was ok, the presentation was amazing
My brother and I decided to try this spot as we saw hype around it on social media. The ham and cheese panini was very good and the sauce on the side complimented it well. Also the inside was pretty and clean. That was the only good part about the experience we had. I paid $16 for two of the pastries but the eclair had very dry crust and the coconut mousse cake was advertised to have reg chocolate and I didn’t taste or see any. The biggest issue was the staff. Maria clearly did not want to be talking to customers and although we thanked her 3 separate times, she said nothing. Did not acknowledge us when we were at the register just looked. The food runner/ busser with the black polo was very sweet, the only reason it’s not 2 stars
My latte and almond croissant were delicious — really enjoyed them. However, the veggie omelet was disappointing; it was overly oily and didn’t feel fresh or healthy. I also noticed the utensils weren’t very clean, which took away from the experience. I hope these things improve because the drinks and pastries were great.
You would hope a French café would have extraordinary food that is not the case here. It is average. Also fairly expensive. We enjoyed sitting outside. The weather is nice in Florida at the moment. However, this will be one. We probably won’t come back because of average food and fairly expenses prices.
As a self-proclaimed French girly, I was SO excited to try The French Cafe after seeing it all over social media. We ordered a mix of pastries, coffee, and savory items to really get a feel for the menu. Starting with the positives — the cappuccino was genuinely great. Smooth, balanced, and exactly what you want with pastries. The viral chocolate mango dessert (iykyk) was also fun. I’ve had better versions locally, but it still scratches the itch and is worth trying at least once. We also tried one of the filled croissants that comes with a pipette to inject coffee into it, which was definitely a fun concept. Unfortunately, the flavor just didn’t quite land for me. That same theme carried into the savory items. The bacon, egg, and cheese croissant was good but nothing particularly memorable. The croque monsieur was the biggest disappointment for me — it’s such a French staple, and I had high hopes. Both it and the breakfast sandwich had American cheese, which felt really off. Respectfully, American cheese has absolutely no business being anywhere near French food 😅 The croque monsieur was also cold in the middle, almost like it had been pressed earlier and reheated, which was a bummer. The breakfast potatoes were just okay. Overall, the aesthetic is super cute and I get the hype visually. But for me, this is more of a coffee-and-dessert stop than a full brunch destination. If you’re coming, I’d stick to the drinks and chocolates. The savory food just didn’t quite deliver.
Coffee awesome! Onion soup is ok but Crepes disappointed! I ordered Emily crepes that were chewy and the bechamel as topping were substituted by ranch dressing, when I asked to the waitress she told me that it comes like this but this is not how is described in the menu. Still waiting for the desserts 20 min later.
My partner and I visited for brunch around 1 pm and unfortunately left a bit disappointed. I ordered the Scrambled Eggs brunch plate, but it was not quite what I expected. The eggs were very dry and rubbery, with no cheese or seasoning, and the base was slightly burnt. It also came with only a very small portion of syrup, which felt insufficient. My partner ordered the Omelette Fajitas, which also turned out quite dry and lacked flavor or cheesiness, making it difficult to enjoy. We were also looking forward to trying the pistachio croissant, but there was only one left by 1 pm, and we were told no more would be baked for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, the one we tried was flat and not very fresh, especially compared to others we’ve had in New York. The bread, however, was nice and ended up being the highlight of the meal.
Atmosphere was fine. Staff was nice but that's about all that was good about this place. The order was taken properly at the register but something completely different came out for one of the people in my party. they ordered an American Breakfast Sandwich that included eggs and bacon. Instead they brought them a ham and cheese panini. I order the Croque Madame. It was cold, the cheese was barely melted and the bechamel sauce was grainy. How is it that the restaurant was empty, we waited for our food to supposedly be made fresh and it all came out cold or luke warm?? And wrong?? That will be my first and last time coming there.
Very disappointed after being excited to try the food here. I asked for a Belgian waffle sausage and coffee. The waffle was thin, sour in flavor and lacking. So I asked for the French toast (see picture). No words needed right. I flipped the French toast over to discover the burnt side after taking a couple bites… The girl at the counter said their sausage was either chicken or beef. I asked if they had pork sausage and she said no. Then she turned and asked the kitchen staff. They said yes they do have pork sausage?? This place seemed to be more concerned with the appearance of the food than the flavor. I work in the restaurant industry for many years. Burnt food should never be plated. I would have preferred to wait a bit longer and enjoyed the meal I paid for than getting burnt food. Very disappointing.
We came here to get a panini since the reviews online were pretty good. Their restaurant was busy, bathrooms were dirty and disgusting with water and poop. Their potatoes were undercooked, the soup was cold, and the sandwich “meal” was not worth $47.00 for 2. We could have gone to WAWA and get better food and service. We also had to return their silverware because it was dirty.
This place is overpriced and overrated! We order the banana strawberry crepe and the fruit was spoiled and the crepe was as thin as a paper sheet. The coffee is mediocre overall even though we ordered the “fancy” ones, the creme brûlée didn’t look great, it seems like the didn’t burn the sugar on the spot. I have nothing good to say about this place. Three coffees and two sweets for $50! Look at the center of the banana
We drove an hour to try this place after seeing their fruit pastries online but were really disappointed. My smoothie order was entered wrong, so the smoothie came out incorrect, and the sandwich was made wrong too they brought out a different one the first time. After waiting 30 minutes, the fries came out cold and seemed to have been reused after another 15-minute delay. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told he was too busy. For a $60 meal, the lack of service and quality was very disappointing. Save your money not worth the trip! Very disappointed visited 11/7 during lunch time
FROM THE OWNERS OF BALDWIN PERK CAFE If you’ve been to Baldwin Perk Cafe, you know that the coffee is extremely over roasted, the place has a terrible layout, and the pastries are soggy. This place is no different, but let’s break it down. 1. Coffee: Regardless of what you order and however much sugar you add, the coffee tastes tremendously harsh- it’s not even about the temperature. I had a Dubai cappuccino, and while the cream decor was nice, you can’t even drink the “coffee.” It’s so harsh that no amount of cream or sugar would take away from the disgusting taste. My husband had a regular capuchino and he had the same experience. 2. Pastries: the croissants are soggy!! It’s making them look trendy, but the flavor and texture are just not there. Not only that, but the place has no concept of hygiene - please tell me why there are bugs flying around the pastries? Take a look at the picture of the croissant for some little bug resting on it. My husband had a strawberry croissant and I had one with raspberries and blue berries - it’s literally just sweet. Might as well get Costco croissants and you have the same product. Ambiance: similar to the Perk Cafe, this establishment has terrible layout for seating areas. It’s like they put a table anywhere that they could fit a table, making it difficult to get around when it’s full. In the same theme, I’m pretty sure they must be violating the electrical code because they literally put a table in front of the electrical room!! The code is there for a reason and electricians should be able to reach this “electrical room” in case of an emergency. Just look at the pictures with the Eiffel Tower. Additionally, the business should guide a “queue” in which the people don’t loop around and cover the electrical room. The employees can barely walk through the pathway to get customers their food Lastly, the only “French” thing about this so-called cafe are the multiple France-themed “pictures” which clearly look like they were bought from TJ Maxx / Ross / Marshall’s. Calling this a French cafe is a massive insult to France. The only one good thing about this place was just the breakfast place since the amounts appear to be reasonable. Nevertheless, it was overall a terrible experience. Management should seriously consider where they are getting their beans from because it tastes like pure gasoline - literally look into European coffee such as Illy and Lavazza, or ACTUAL French coffee like Cafe Richard and Malongo. Complete disappointment, I wish I had a list of businesses owned by whoever owns “The French Cafe” and “Baldwin Perk Cafe” just so that we know what to avoid.
We were a group of 7 people. I ordered pasta bolognese as you see in the picture. Are these meatballs burnt? My wife's pasta carbonara was cold. My sister in law had one of their breakkfast, the scrambled eggs raw, onion soup I dont have a word, see the picture. We came from Orlando which is 30 mins from this place just to waste money. Not very happy. I guess we are not coming back.
