La Casa de Julia Woodside Reviews
We went to Casa de Julia to celebrate my friend’s engagement and had such a great time! The place was fancy, the dinner was delicious, and there was a lot of fun entertainment. They even had karaoke night, which made the night even better. Definitely recommend!
I loved everything about this place. It felt like being back home in Mexico. Food was amazing, I had the Pozole, best I’ve tried in Phoenix. Drinks were great and the Despechadas night was amazing. DJ and host did a great job with the music selection and so did the singer that night. Our waitress Claudia was great, they said our food and drinks would take long but they were actually out pretty fast. Thank you Casa de Julia for bringing the Mexico party environment to Phoenix.
This place was amazing. Everything from atmosphere, cocktails, entrees , and dessert! It doesn't show up on Google when I search top rated restaurants so I'm glad that I stumbled upon it. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.
Delicious food with authentic modern Mexican cuisine flavors, great "Sason" in every dish very tasteful, I order the Mole enchiladas with chicken and my wife got the grilled octopus, they were big portions. Service was great we made a reservation, and our spot was ready when we arrived, they had live music (saxophone) witch added a special touch for this evening. We will definitely return for more.
What a delicious and elevated Mexican culinary experience! To start, the bartenders were very knowledgeable and pointed us in the right direction of which cocktails best suited our preferences. The drinks were creative, gorgeous, and delicious! For food, we had the pork belly on guacamole appetizer, grilled octopus, and braised short rib with a side of corn. Everything was so well executed - the octopus was prepared to the perfect texture, the short rib melted in your mouth, and the accompanying sauces brightened each bite. Between the two main courses, my husband and I could not decide which one we loved more. My only regret was not getting dessert! Next time, though :)
This restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made ordering easy and enjoyable.
Incredible experience. Lauren was our server and she was very humble, energetic, and kind to us. It was our first time here and the food was 10/10 and completely unique flavors. We will be returning.
I loved it so fun and the food is amazing u need to come try it !!!😛😛😛😛 plus Claudia our server was so sweet and nice
Girls night Thursdays! Had a great time, good music and vibes. Food was okay, Shrimp was a little undercooked and service was a bit slow due to how busy the night was but overall a fun night
I had so much fun for my Birthday on “Noche de despecho” the food was great and the music was very fun to sing a long.
Casa de Julia is such an incredible addition to downtown, and they’re doing everything right! We stopped in for cocktails, and loved it so much, we came back the next morning for brunch. The attention to detail is unmistakable in the food, drinks, and the space. Cocktail-wise, we’ve had the Ojos Perdidos, the Paloma, the margarita, and one other that I can’t recall the name of. Aspen, the mixologist, is an expert at her craft. Food-wise, we had the chilaquiles with both red and green, the seafood chicharron, and the pork belly chicharron. Everything was vibrant, delicious, and visually appealing. We look forward to working our way through all of their menus. Casa de Julia is, without a doubt, a home run!

OMG!, Everything we got was Amazing. We started with Chicharron Pork Bell as an appetizer which was delicious. We also got Corn Ribs. Also delicious. We got a Caesar Salad, and to our surprise the Caesar dressing had a unique taste, which was probably the best Caesar dressing I ever tasted. As a main course we got the 16oz Ribeye. Mind blown!!! I highly recommend this place. Excellent place to before an event at PHX Arena. We will be back even if there is not an event.

Me and my spouse went to Casa de Julia for dinner, and unfortunately our experience was not what we expected. We made a reservation in advance because of all the hype, but it didn’t live up to it for us. When we arrived, there was nowhere to park and we ended up paying $40 for parking for no reason. We ordered a steak, and after about 45 minutes we still hadn’t received our food. When we asked our waitress what was going on, she said there was a large order ahead of us, even though there were only three tables seated and all were small parties. At the end, we had to leave because our order was never fulfilled. It was disappointing, and it felt like management didn’t care, because no one came to check on us. This is definitely not the way to build long-term success. Update: I received a call from the restaurant manager, Aaron, and I have to say I was impressed by how he handled the situation. He genuinely cared and acknowledged what happened, which means a lot. The restaurant is less than a year old, and I hope they continue growing into the hype. Because of his professionalism, I’m changing my review and will be giving Casa de Julia another try.
If you're looking for a place where the food is top-tier and the atmosphere is even better, this is it! Usually, restaurants with great music sacrifice the quality of the kitchen, but not here. The food was incredible, but the real highlight was the playlist/live setup. I spent half the night eating and the other half singing my heart out. It’s impossible to stay in your seat when the energy is this good. 10/10—my voice is gone, but my stomach is full and happy! Our server Heli was the BEST!
We decided to go to Casa De Julia, we were celebrating a special occasion. Didn’t disappoint, food was amazing. Our waitress Brianna gave us an excellent service, the manager Aaron was hands-on, ensuring our experience was flawless. And to the chef, all we can say is that your food is delicious we will be coming back soon.
Such an amazing karaoke dinner experience! The food was delicious, the drinks were on point, and the atmosphere was so much fun. The song selection had something for everyone and the crowd made it even better. The staff was friendly, organized, and kept the night running smoothly. Perfect place for a fun night out — we’ll definitely be back!
Casa de Julia is truly a gem. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and genuinely cared for, which immediately set the tone for a great brunch with friends. The service felt warm, attentive, and personal without being overbearing. The food is what really stood out. The flavors were rich, authentic, and full of heart. It felt like true Mexican cooking that honors the culture rather than trying to reinvent it. You can tell a lot of care goes into the menu, and every bite reflected that. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, making it easy to relax, enjoy good conversation, and take our time. Overall, it was a great brunch experience, and it’s definitely a place I’d recommend and return to.
Our experience at Casa De Julia was amazing! Our server Brianna took care of us immediately and check in to make sure we had what we needed. Such a great atmosphere and food is incredible! Totally recommend!
Food was authentic and made with care and our waitress Brianna was fantastic. Everything about Casa de Julia made me feel like home. Loved the karaoke on Thursday’s ladies only night. Will definitely be coming back.
Food was AMAZING and our waitress Brianna was phenomenal always making sure we had beverages, food on time and checked in on our regularly. Plus the karaoke was on POINT! Loved the vibes. Will definitely be back.
We were there to celebrate my mother's birthday, excellent service very accommodating our server Brianna made sure my mom had a good experience. Food was excellent and the cafe de olla very good. The mariachi were also awesome. She had the best birthday! Thank you.

Went to Casa de Julia for dinner with friends and had a really great experience. The staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. The food was full of authentic flavor and tasted like it was made with intention and heart. Every dish felt comforting and satisfying. Perfect spot for a relaxed dinner and good conversation.

This is a small restaurant in downtown Phoenix. I went there because I heard they make great drinks. While I was there also tried their food, I had their short rib mole, which was delicious! They had some unique drinks which were also very good, not overly sweet and very visually appealing I went on Friday evening with a couple of friends and sat at the bar. They had several gluten-free options and I decided on the Short Rib mole, which had a little bit of a kick to it and it was delicious! At that time there wasn't many people there, so I can't speak for the atmosphere much but I like the decor and we had a good time!
I was excited to try this place since I’ve seen it on social media. My friends and I decided to give it a try on girls night. We went for restaurant week recently and ordered the three course meals. We ordered 3 appetizers which was the queso asado, the chicharrón, & the aguachile. We couldn’t decide on which one was better! The entrees we ordered were the asado de puerco, enchiladas, and the chicken mole. These were disappointing and almost inedible. The asado de puerco was tolerable and so were the enchiladas, but the mole was honestly one of the worst things I’ve ever attempted to eat! We ordered a few drinks and they were amazing and strong as they should be. For dessert we all had the tres leches cake and it was delicious! The atmosphere was beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The service was okay, they did serve two of the entrees first and the mole took forever to come. The wait staff was very nice and had great drink recommendations. We agreed to return for drinks and appetizers but we will be avoiding the entrees. We spent almost $300 for all 3 of us.

The food was alright, I would give it a 5/10. This is just a one time try place. The waitress kept upselling us without actually telling us the addition costs of things. She made it seem like she was offering complimentary items to our meal without letting us know how much. The drinks were too expensive and she got them wrong the first time. The atmosphere was nice and the music was good but overall would not come back.
We ordered (5) palomas & (3) appetizers one of them being the chicharrón (delicious) which came with 4 tiny store bought tortillas. I was disappointed with the tortillas because last time they were handmade maiz azul. 2nd appetizer was Aguachile De Ribeye and sadly it was cold. Lastly the birria mini tacos were salty. This place has a cool vibe and the waiters are amazing! I paid $183 w/ $40 tip and I don’t think I’m going back.
Small restaurant which made it nice, they did have a sax player that night who was very good. The waitstaff seemed light as they were not very attentive. My son and I both had steak which we should have known not to get at a Mexican restaurant. The steak had good flavor but because it was a ribeye they probably shouldn't have put cheese sauce on top of it. It made it very difficult to eat with the traditional fattiness of a ribeye and because of this the cost seemed high.
I was very excited to try here and unfortunately I was severely disappointed. The atmosphere is amazing but the service was lacking. They didn't know the spirits at the bar and seemed confused on the menu . The food looked decent but the ceviche was still raw and shrimp was just above gelatinous. The ribs were sinewy and full of cartilage. The short rib was tough. I took clients there due to the high rating and had to apologize to them for the subpar meals. I know they are new, but I would wait to go there. With such a small menu, you would think they would perform well They didn't and I was very underwhelmed. It ruined the kickoff of the business trip.

Food was fantastic . Our waitress acted like she couldn't be bothered. It wasn't busy we were 1 of 2 parties. I couldn't get a refill the entire time we were there. Then asked for 4 separate checks and the waitress ignored us brought us one then blamed it on her manager. The chicano music was so loud you could hardly hear each other. If you want to be a bar then be a bar don't represent yourself as a restaurant. We travel here frequently for business and will not be bringing clients here again.
