La Joya Mexican Cocina Wylie Reviews
I would sincerely like to thank La Joya for the hospitality and a tasty dinner. We went out, for what we expected to be just a dinner for my daughter Liberty's 17th birthday. La Joya and our waitress Megan. Went above and beyond since we where the last family dining that evening. We where able to enjoy a cake, sing happy birthday. Megan even handed my kids the tablet, that controls the music. Allowing them to pick there own music. ( It's the little things that count❤️) Thank you & God bless Sincerely Juan Meza @ Nextdoor Handyman Company 🏆 & Family
Excellent local place serving all the Mexican and TexMex favorites! I had the brisket tacos and let me tell you, they did NOT scimp on the meat. I was brought 2 HUGE tacos, plus rice and beans. Side note: believe it or not, these guys have the best burger around!!
I ordered tonight from GH and had it delivered. The driver told me they didn't make it until he got there, bonus!! I haven't finished eating and I wanted to write this review. The queso is top tier for me. And I'm picky. We ordered barbacoa gorditas and a chimichanga. The gorditas are fabulous. A little greasy but so tasty! The refused beans are spot on. The Mexican rice was moist but not wet, it was perfect.
Wonderful!! Full of flavor!! We loved everything - hot sauce, fresh chips, Gloria plate (chicken and cheese enchiladas) and the Brunch Enchiladas (cheese or beef enchiladas with 2 fried eggs on top). We will be back for sure.... *We went back on a separate day, and had the much hyped hamburger and the chicken soup since it was a cold day. The hamburger does deserve all the hype! It was full of flavor and delicious. The soup was perfect for a winter day. It was fresh, full of flavor, and just what I needed to warm me up. Another great meal here!
Stumbled upon this hidden gem tonight during boo @ the Ballard, Once inside it was very busy, But we were greeted immediately by the lovely Vanessa, she took our order, Gave us good recommendations on what to try, I had the chile relleno with steak , which was so good & authentic . steak was very tender, we had margaritas here too and they were delicious, My husband had the burger and it was a good thick patty, Food was good, service was amazing, Me and my family will definitely be back, & if you were thinking about trying it, give it a try!
Took my pops for breakfast and as a first visit I was impressed. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and our waitress was friendly. We both ordered huevos rancheros and received home made corn and flour tortillas. Reminded me of being back in San Antonio. I’m so glad I finally tried this spot out.
La Joya is great Mexican food always. The nachos are super delicious but you have to eat them there. My daughter loves the macaroni it's freshly made delish. They definitely have the best hamburgers and pancakes. The staff is very nice. Blanca the manager is great. Aurora is the best Server ever we just love her. Oh the enchiladas are also a must my daughter gets the shrimp 🍤 enchiladas with salsa Verde and sour cream on top super delicious. Im sure any you decide you'll love ❤️. Great restaurant with great people. They also added a bar which is great I love it and the beer is cold 🥶.
I have been coming here for over 10 years and this place never disappoints This is an amazing place to get great food, service is impeccable and now they have a small bar with draft beer and good drinks! I ordered the ranch water and it is so delicious! The liquors are top shelf and the drinks are so refreshing! 10/10
Very good food and portion size. Waitresses are friendly and attentive. Lacks a little ambiance. I would suggest some plant stands with succulents or some Mexican themed items or art displayed. Perhaps a new coating of concrete paint.
This place serves more authentic Mexican dishes vs Tex Mex. They have both. Very good food and prices accordingly. Good value.
Really enjoyed our first experience here. The staff were very welcoming, and they practice “self-seating” here. The salsa and chips were decent, just needed a little salt, and they were good. We ordered the beef fajitas and the tacos al carbon. The meat was tender and again just needed a little salt to be taken to the next level. The rice was flavorful, but the beans again needed a little salt and then were great. We will be back, just knowing that the food may need to be seasoned a little bit at the table unless they add more when it is prepared in the back. Give them a try.
I have tried many items on the menu here and have never been disappointed. A couple of standouts are the migas and chilaquiles con bistek. The fajita chicken has a good flavor as well. Also, they do have a really good burger, ha. I have a couple of standouts in downtown Wylie, and this is one of them. Update: the Enchiladas Michoacanas, so good
Service is a bit slow for my liking and I think it’s a part of their business model. Positive note food is good
We were not impressed. The server was nice, but seemed to be over worked. She was trying her best!! Service was slow. There were 3 employees, one of the employees did not seem to be doing anything but running the register 🙄. She could have helped with chips and salsa, refills or cleaning. The food was okay. Not bad, but just mediocre
This review is my opinion, coming from someone who loves Tex Mex and has been eating it for decades. Friendly service that was pretty good. My water glass ran dry and it took quite a while before it got refilled. The salsa was not interesting or flavorful to me. Chips had a good texture and were crispy but had a sort of burned flavor. The chalupas and the taco shells were the same as the chips. I did not find the beans or rice interesting or attractive. My enchiladas tasted pretty good. The taco meat tasted like unseasoned ground beef. The food came out with a pretty warm temperature which is what I like. The prices were decent and reasonable, but I do not think this restaurant is going to be on my favorites list.
It's not bad, but it is average. Nothing really stood out. I mean, we'll still go back. I had Green Enchiladas and wife had a beef fajita quesadilla.
Went in for dinner because Frankie’s was busy, should have went to taco Bueno! Megan was the waitress and she was so out there. She only had 4 other tables at most and she acted like it was a full house! Good margaritas bad service all around. Won’t be back. Only received one basket of chips, requested another, never got it. Took along time to get our waters. We had 3 margaritas. They weren’t even busy!
