It'll never be known why these places aren't packed, while we instead prefer to give our money to dreadful fast-food chains. We discovered "La Buhardilla" on a typical foggy night in Xalapa. We walked in and were surprised by the warmth of the place, the friendliness of the host, and above all, the menu: simple yet generous. We ordered a calzone (absolutely delicious) with artisanal chorizo; the host gave us some chimichurri (secret recipe), incredible; we also had a Bolognese pasta, very subtle and carefully prepared, with a unique homemade flavor. They have a wide selection of national and international beers. The sarsaparilla sweetened with honey is a must-try. For dessert, they gave us truffles. What more could you ask for?

Great. To start with, the sanitary measures are very good, which many establishments have stopped doing. They take your temperature and disinfect your shoes before you enter. The customer service is great, which is greatly appreciated. The place was practically empty, but I've been to places where even if they only serve one person, they aren't as attentive as here. The taste of the food and drinks we ordered was phenomenal, highly recommended! I would give more stars if I could.
