My sweetheart and I rented a room for the night in Marmora, a quiet place overlooking the main road that leads to various villages or starting points for beautiful hikes. The inn is run by a helpful and kind man, and the room we rented is clean and comfortable. Of course, don't expect a grand hotel (I go to the big cities for those!), but for the necessary adventures, what this inn offers is up to par. Cleanliness, comfortable beds with pillows and duvets where you can sink into the arms of Morpheus during cool nights, and the super wholesome breakfast in the morning are the strong points of the place, including, as mentioned previously, the location of the inn. A downside, but really if you want to be picky, are the several flights of stairs leading to the rooms, not exactly convenient for people with disabilities or other issues. Something we can't comment on, and the food, which we didn't use or enjoy. As for us, we had a great time: the price was reasonable and the location was perfect for visiting and experiencing the surrounding areas, just steps from the inn. Would I return? CERTAINLY! 😉 Enjoy!

Livio, the manager of the Gentil Locanda, is a kind and very helpful person. First and foremost, it's an organic inn; the food is vegetables from the garden, organic juices, organic yogurt and jams, and cakes made by the inn's mother, the cook. His cuisine is a crescendo of deliciousness: standouts include the bean soup, the meatloaf with peppers, the spiced sausages, the appetizers, which are often savory tarts made with zucchini also from the garden, the strudel, the sbrisolona, ​​and the cakes with organic jams. Livio is quick to respond when you ask him about excursions and places to visit. He taught us a lot about the valley's agriculture. His is a historic inn with original floors. We were in a room overlooking the woods, and in the evening we could see fireflies!

A pleasant place, tasty cuisine, and a family atmosphere Highly recommended. Lunch for a group of 16 friends with considerable experience dining out and particularly demanding. The atmosphere is welcoming thanks to the helpfulness and friendliness of Livio and Chiara; the food is prepared with care and with genuine ingredients; the local origin of the cheeses is evident (try the Castelmaira), the handmade ravioli prepared by the legendary Ezio are superb, as is the roaschina (onions, red wine, and cream); the juniper roast is tasty, well-cooked, yet soft on the inside: compliments to the tender Margherita, a multi-starred chef who reminds us (not because of her age but because of her culinary skill) of grandmothers of yesteryear; to the delight of our chronic sweet tooth, we were enraptured by desserts such as the sbrisolona, ​​the soft hazelnut cake (a Langhe recipe!!), and the lavender flan. Excellent value for money, a food experience worth trying....we will definitely be back!

We spent a week here in July. The rooms were cozy, clean, and functional. The home cooking was excellent. The hospitality and courtesy were genuine. The owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Livio recommended a day trek, and his father acted as our guide in the valley. A sincere thank you, and see you soon.

We were with 8 motorcyclists doing a tour of the Alps normally staying for 1 night. One of our bikes broke down and we had to get a spare part. The family running the hotel/restaurant helped us enourmously and without hesitation looking for the closest garage nearby, ordering that specific part. . They are the definition of kindness and hospitality! The restaurant is typically Italian and the mother does the cooking. The food is excellent!! The rooms were freshly renovated,, authentic looking and clean. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic place, with so much attention to detail in the decor. Large outdoor area for shaded dining, beautiful interior rooms with original stone ceilings. Delicious dishes; I asked for a vegetarian option and they were completely satisfied. Everything was five-star, from appetizer to dessert. Very helpful and kind. Highly recommended!!

On our Turin Nice Rally this was the most friendly and welcoming place. In the pouring rain they served us a lovely lunch and supper with jugs of red wine. They put is in touch with the right people to solve our bike problems and because of the heavy rain, let us sleep in the restaurant. I hope I can go back

Non è la prima volta che ci fermiamo a mangiare, ogni volta riscopriamo delle cose semplici ed ottime! Sabato sera abbiamo cenato con, tra l'altro, tagliatelle al sugo di cipolle cotte nel vino, una bontà! Sempre molto gentili a conferma del nome!

Lovely place and excellent food. Very kind staff. Only flaw: we stayed a week and initially they put us in the new rooms that had just been renovated but in reality still to be finished for various aspects: as soon as we pointed this out they remedied it by moving us to the classic rooms and then applying a discount on the invoice for the days involved. Really good food (the menu is sometimes a repetitive lunch but...) and very nice waitresses.

I showed up at 12:00 to completely empty tables. I asked for a quick bite to eat, and I would have given them my table very quickly, given the expected crowd. Some guy, I don't know who, literally kicked me out... rude and terrible welcome... I'll definitely go straight on my next motorcycle trip. More service than expected is probably not appreciated at this place.

Shocked. The menu was limited and not particularly interesting. The polenta was inedible, and the stew contained only five pieces of meat. By 8:15 pm, half the dishes were sold out, even though the restaurant was half empty. A tragicomic experience.
