My family and I evacuated to Dallas from Beaumont for Hurricane Laura. This restaurant was next door to the hotel where we stayed. We are adventurous eaters and decided that we would definitely try it out because of curiosity (we had never had East African food) and convenience since it was next door. Oh my, I am soooooo glad we did! We ordered the Somosa appetizers and decided on three entrees to get a good mix of tastes and different meat options. We went with the Doro Wot, Yebeg Wot and the Beef Tsahli. Every single morsel of food was amazing. So full of deep flavor and a perfect amount of spice. The injera was soo soft and wonderful and was a perfect “spoon” with which we scooped up the amazing entrees. I can’t say enough about home much we enjoyed our meal! I just wish I lived closer so I could experience the rest of the menu. Walking in the door instantly made me feel like I was in an episode of No Reservations with the late great Anthony Bourdain. The patio had several gentlemen smoking cigarettes and drinking beer while joyfully talking and eating. Inside I was the only person with English as their first language and I instantly knew I was in the right place for good authentic food. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Service was amazing. Music was bumpin. And food was bussin. 10/10 would definitely come back! Please give this place a chance :)
The food was so nice, service was so nice!
Friendly service and delicious food in a clean, hip new restaurant. 9/16/20 all of the dishes we had were so fresh and spiced perfectly. 4/28/21 I have to continue to promote good food! Fresh, spicy, abundant, and complex!
First time that I have eaten this kind of food and it was amazing. I have nothing to compare it to but the person I went with said it was authentic. Service was great she didn't rush me and answered all her questions.
We got the veggie combo and the tsahli beef which turned out great. The beef is on the higher side of spice while the veggies aren't, the acidity from the salad dressing makes a perfect balance. Service was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing food! We were the only couple dining on a Friday night in this packed restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly, the prices are fair, the food is plentiful and delicious. Definitely going back!
Food is fresh and delicious. Serving sizes are more than adequate! Amazing service, was able to answer our questions about the food. We weren't waiting for long, the prices are reasonable, I would 100% come back and recommend this place if you want Mediterranean/Eastern African food. There are also less ethnic options if you aren't totally interested in that.
For those of us who are old enough to enjoy spicy, and warm to hot flavors...Dallul East African Cuisine here in Dallas satisfies!!! If you are looking for something different, and something delicious...do yourself a favor, and visit Dallul East African Cuisine!

Went here with 3 friends for dinner. Food isn't much more than $20 per person, and only after we got extra stuff. This place seems like authentic African food, and it's refreshingly local. They even taught us the correct way to eat this one dish for the best enjoyment. The food I ordered was great, a spiced chicken and rice meal. But there is a very rich menu available. The staff were extremely friendly and happy we were there. Giving a comfortable atmosphere. Only thing we had to do was get attention of the server for the bill. Otherwise it was perfect, and we enjoyed it for hours. Definitely seeing if I can revisit this place next vacation.
This was my first time having East African food so I was a bit nervous walking in but excited for an adventure! I asked the waiter for advice. They were really friendly and excited to share their favorite food with someone new. They asked me questions about what I liked, and what I’m game to try. I had a large portion of spicy lamb and small portions of several vegetables. I’m not sure if it directly lined up to a menu item but less than $20 seemed fair, it was all tasty, and I hope to have some more soon!
I love this place the food is very tasty. I've eaten there 10-15 times and it is very comfortable. There are many men 'hanging out', at times. They are all friendly but it can often be difficult to get to the bathroom.
One of the best spots in Dallas. The food is amazing and the owners are the kindest people. The pasta and classic Ethiopian dishes are my favorite. We will be back!
On the occasion of our son’s wedding, the catering service provided by Dallul Restaurant and its owner, Ms. Tirhas (Titi), for more than 500 guests was outstanding—delicious, flavorful, and, most of all, prepared and served with great care for health. In this regard, I strongly recommend Dallul as the first choice for honoring one’s guests. ኢድ ይባርኽ ቲቲ ሓብትና!
We came here after a great night out in Dallas, we were very pleasantly surprised to find an African spot open after midnight. Great vibe, staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible, I had the lamb tsahli and my girlfriend had the spris, and we split an order of samosas. Fantastic experience all around, we'll definitely be back!

One of the best Ethiopian meals I've ever had. Go with friends to try a little bit of everything. I had the raw beef and it was exceptionally flavorful with a nice kick of hear

What a wonderful dining experience! I wanted something different and east African hit the spot. A very laid back dining experience (don't be in a hury) food was expertly prepared and presented not to mention tasted great. I had Awaze Tibes and the samosa.
This place was right next to the hotel i was staying on my trip. I ordered the Vegetarian Combination. The vegetable sides are good and Injera was super soft. The take out was neatly packed and the lady greeted me well and handed me my order.

I ordered a Samosa, Doro Wot, and Beef Tsahli The food was tasty; however, the Doro Wot was two drumsticks in sauce with way too much bread. There wasn’t a boiled egg and not any vegetables for about $20. A waste of money!!! Did not get the Samosa I ordered. I will get a refund. The Beef Tsahli was tasty but too much bread( injera) These businesses have to do better.

Honestly It only got 1 star because the coffee was really good and the food and prices/portions were decent. This was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had. The interior was underwhelming and it smelled really bad of smoke, despite “no smoking” signs posted every other foot. somehow it was dead inside but we still got the worst service ever. Our server took forever to take out food order and instead talked to some guy at the bar for 20 minutes. Also, another table twice out size came in, got their order taken, and finnished their food before we could even place out food order. They also ate all their food, payed out, left, and had their table cleaned again (about a 40 minute experience) befor the server ever acknowledged us again. We were very clearly done eating by then and had to walk up to the computers to finally pay out and leave. I don’t know what all the good reviews are for but I’m literally from east Africa and can tell you there’s better food out there and there DEFINITELY is better service literally anywhere else.
