Decided to try this out on a road trip after seeing other reviews/photos about the halwa puri. It did not disappoint! The food was very simple (in a good homemade way) and flavorful. Would highly recommend! The aloo sabji was slightly too oily for me, but I would still visit again. The family running this restaurant was very kind and welcoming too.
it's a small, cozy, family-owned restaurant, and you can feel the love in every single dish. I had a feast that was nothing short of perfection: the halwa puri was warm and comforting, just like something from a Sunday family gathering. The samosa chaat was a masterpiece of flavor, and it's clear the ingredients are prepped with care and a deep understanding of what makes a dish truly special. The fried chicken was a surprise hit. crispy, juicy, and packed with that authentic spice blend you only get from home-style cooking. And of course, the lassi was the ideal finishing touch, thick, creamy, and made with a personal touch. The whole place has a lovely Lahori Punjabi vibe, and you can tell it's a labor of love. It feels like you're being welcomed into someone's home for a truly fantastic meal. If you want delicious, authentic food served with warmth and hospitality, this is the place to be. Samosa Hut is a true family treasure.
I finally got a chance to try their Halwa Puri. Walked in a few minutes after they opened so seating wasn't an issue on the wkend. Puri wasn't drenched in oil and fresh. Chole were true to breakfast style and had great seasoning, usually a lot of restaurants will make chole they can use for entrees and serve that for breakfast as well, there's a distinction. Halwa was good, not too sweet and good consistency. Coming from Jersey where we have tons of choices for halwa puri breakfast, this one did not disappoint as I've tried a few in CT. It'd be even better if they opened a bit earlier on the weekends.
Tried their aloo paratha, channa chawal, anda paratha, samosas, and halwa poori. Everything was excellent with well balanced spices. Really surprised and delighted to find authentic Desi food in Connecticut. Even better than Desi food in Queens NYC. A must try!
Love every bit of this place!! Owner is so nice and welcoming. Food is extraordinary and priced really well! No other Pakistani/Indian Restaurant in this state makes my money’s worth like this one.
Newly opened gem. Tried their makki roti and saag, and dahi bhally.. Trust me when I tell you it's just like what we have back in Punjab. Absolutely lovely place and auntie gee make auntentic dishes. Will be coming back to try all items on the menu.
Went there on a weekend specifically for the aloo paratha and halwa puri, and they were both 10/10!! Service-wise I found it a little slow, but that could be because it’s a small place and pretty crowded on the weekends. Nonetheless, I’ll definitely still be going back for the food ☺️
Loved the food. Keep up the good work guys 👍
We had a really nice experience there ,good food and ambiance . A must go place for chaats, samosas and chai ! The saag makai was on point !
What an amazing place! Already want to go back. Best gol guppy I had for a while! Paratha was truly homemade. Makai ki roti and serson ka saag was to die for! Good service and welcoming family!
Such a great experience every time we visit this place! Food is amazing and delicious ❤️👌👌🏻 Perfect spot for snack time and beautifully decorated area to sit 😍😍 it really connects us to our roots 😍👏

Really great food, it came out fresh! The staff was so nice and the restauraunt was very clean. Would highly recommend their halwa puri on the weekends.
Just went in and picked up the Puree halwa and mukeee roti and sag best ever felt like a home cooked meal like your mother made it at home friendly atmosphere great customer service did not have to wait line at all. If you are in the area stop in and try it out you will not regret it Thanks 🙏🏼
We went to this place, and the food was absolutely delicious! We ordered Halwa Puri, Kashmiri Chai, and Samosas — everything was incredibly tasty. It honestly felt like I was in Karachi, enjoying Puri. This was my first time tasting food that truly reminded me of authentic Pakistani cuisine. Highly recommended! The staff, the owner, and everyone working there were so kind and welcoming. Most importantly, the hygiene was excellent — everything was neat and clean. And to top it all off, the prices were much more affordable compared to other desi restaurants.
We had an excellent experience at Samosa Hut! The food was exceptional - especially the Makhai roti and Saag! The owners made us feel very welcome and really catered to some food restrictions that we had which we hugely appreciated! It’s a wonderful homely space too! We couldn’t recommend it more!
Ordered a Zinger Burger combo, Chicken Over Rice, Veggie Samosa, Chicken Samosa, and Mango Lassi. Fries were fresh, hot, crispy and lightly salted. The Zinger Burger is definitely one of my favorite Chicken Burgers in the Hamden area. The Mango Lassi was also made fresh and was delicious. The chicken and veggie samosas with the chutney sauce were crispy, seasoned perfectly, with the right amount of spice and the sauce is a very nice pairing. The chicken over rice was fresh, delicious, well seasoned and the rice was prepared well with a healthy amount of white sauce. 5/5 and I will definitely be returning to try more!
I'd just finished getting a manicure in the area, and walked by Samosa Hut. Decided to stop in for lunch, and oh my goodness, I'm so glad I did. I ordered the Chana over rice, and 2 chicken samosas. Everything came out fresh, hot, and very tasty. I'll definitely be back.
We went to Samosa Hut today. The dahi bara chaat I had was amazing, perfectly spiced, tangy and crunchy. My husband had a chai which he thought was a bit light on the chai color but it sure was freshly cooked and very hot as he likes it. The environment was great. The music, the wall mural and the decorations were delightfully eclectic. It looked like a great place for friends to come together on a weekend afternoon.

Samosa Hut is a hidden gem! Whether you’re craving Indian street food like samosas and chaat, or something more Western like burgers and fries, they’ve got it all. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The fusion menu is creative, and the variety makes it a perfect spot for families or groups with different tastes. Excellent customer service and a super clean place. The staff is friendly, and the food is prepared with care. Whether you want desi street food or a quick American-style meal, you’ll leave satisfied. Big portions and fair prices.👌👌
Worth the drive ! Great food and ambiance! Small but a mighty spot with great potential just because their food was great !! Samosas and halwa puri was spot on . I only wished they did have mango pickle on the side too. 4 stars; only because I asked if they had mango pickle and the young guy who took my order to go for halwa puri & samosas said yes they'll put it in the parcel !! My bad I didn't check before leaving the shop. Was disappointed a bit when I opened but food was good and worth it to visit .

Disappointing experience. My samosas were barely warm, one was actually cold, and ridiculously greasy. They tasted okay I guess. The steak and rice was good, the Tikka masala was okay but the butter chicken was really bad. The price was okay but some of the food was wasted because nobody wanted to eat it. I don't think we'll be back.
