Love this place! The servers are so attentive, efficient and kind. I have been disappointed by anything I've had there and I always get a pancake no matter what!
My dog and I were on a stroll and found ourselves sitting in a comfy, sunny seating area in the front. The service was great! And the food was exceptional! While waiting for my order one of the staff took their time to pour some fresh water in a dog bowl for my dog. (Scored major points to me on how awesome this gem in the city is.) I hope they continue to have great success and maintain their well above average standards.
What a gem! We dropped off family to SFO early in the day and were very hungry! I searched for a breakfast spot along our route back to Sactown and saw this place with high marks. Boy, were we literally blown away! First, the parking situation can be a little challenging. The cafe is within a residential area, so hope for a spot close enough. Next, we were sat down to our table (we chose outdoors) pretty quick. We were immediately provided water and orders taken, which is great coz I hate it when you have to wait just to be able to ask for water. Our food came pretty snippy. We ordered their Benedicts - salmon and crab cakes plus a side of French toasts. The benes were some of the best ones we've ever had! What made them stand out are not just the mains but also the sides of potatoes. They were tender, crisp, and flavorful! The hollandaise sauce on top of the benes were perfect! We are now looking forward to driving some 2hrs to drop off family to SFO and have an excuse to come back to this cafe!
Checking in online made the wait a lot easier! As breakfast places are always a packed. The restaurant has a nice feel and it’s clean and the staff are warm and welcoming. It’s bigger inside than what you see from the outside. The service was good and attentive. We came as a party of 4 on a Sunday at 11:30am. Drinks came out quickly and food came out in about 10 minutes, not a long wait at all. Overall it was a good experience and would recommend Doyle Street Cafe.
I came here for brunch and ordered the Ultimate Benedict. It was so good. Never had a Benedict with mushrooms before and it was amazing. Not to mention their house-made potatoes, SO GOOD! Got the organic chai which was ok, more like a holiday drink without much chai but overall flavor was good. The service is great. Highly recommend this place.
Found this cafe in the neighborhood where we were visiting. Quite a surprise that we’ve visited Emeryville before and never knew of this gem. We were a party of three and were promptly greeted at the door. I had a great breakfast experience and will definitely be going back next time we are in Emeryville.
I came here for brunch and order the Classic Egg Benedict. The bun is soft style and the Hollandaise sauce is chef kiss! Not to mention their house-made POTATO, SO SO GOOD! It was packed but the service is amazing. Their staffs very attentive, they serve you water when you got your table. And always make sure everything’s okay and is there anything else you need. Highly recommend this place.
I love this delicious gem! Their eggs Benedict is so delicious! You can try either or, the classic or the mushroom avocado one, and they are both divine! And the staff is amazing! Attentive, friendly, with memorable smiles. 💖 They have a beautiful outdoor seating area as well. Next time I will sit outside on a nice day. I look forward to trying more dishes next time . Thank you Doyle Street CA!
Omg I loved the food, everything from sandwiches to eggs, to the pancakes and even the French, toast, everything was cooked to perfection. Also, don’t forget to try the buttermilk pancakes, they are amazing and the owner/host was very kind and very hand on. He actually was very kind to my little brother who was seven and engaged in a nice convo with him, and actually acknowledging him and taking his order. Hands down, this place is amazing to unwind and just enjoy the experience.
I've been going to Doyle Street Cafe for over 20 years, and they have been consistent in selecting the best ingredients and prepares the resulting dishes in a manner that creates a harmonic balance flavors that delights the eyes, mouth, and mind. The owners have also invested heavily in keeping the restaurant freshly designed with cues that make the restaurant very inviting, whether dining alone, with work colleagues, with friends, or with family. There is also outdoor seating that allows you to enjoy the Emeryville sun while enjoying your breakfast or lunch. Another thing about the owners, they are always active in the business. They are always helpful, and they are always courteous. You would think that these attributes would be the rule and not the exception. However, we live in the real world, not the land of Should-Be-Ville. If you find yourself in Emeryville for work or shopping and you want to enjoy a great meal, be served by attentive staff, and vibe in a warm, welcoming, and all-around, well executed restaurant... check out Doyle Street Cafe!
Been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and it did not disappoint! I got the home fries heaven and the stuffed french toast; both of which were absolutely delightful! The home fries paired perfectly with the chile habanero hot sauce they had at the table, which is a must try if you are here. Not pictured is the freshly squeezed orange juice which was both wonderfully refreshing and sweet. The wait wasn't too long, but I recommend joining the waitlist on yelp if you are able!
Amazing brunch, really special place indeed. The hollandaise sauce absolutely blew my mind. When it came down to ranking the eggs benedict, the crab cake and smoked salmon tied for first place. But the potatoes were absolutely incredible. The seasoning in EVERYTHING is so on point! The coffee was amazing as well. Great service, will definitely return!
Classic American-style family-run diner serving hearty portions. I cannot stress how delicious their home-style potatoes are. They are thin slices similar to hash browns and cooked well. While their menu doesn't have any food items that are exceptionally unique, you cannot go wrong with any of the choices. The servers are nice and more than accommodating. Since there is no jam on the table for the toast, they'll happily provide that upon request. On weekend brunch time, there is usually a wait, but they have plenty of indoor and outdoor dining seating in a rustic, open-air environment
I have been going here for years now, and it never gets old. This is one of those true 5/5 restaurants for me. The brunch here is PHENOMENAL, I've never had a complaint about the food here, and it always comes out quick, hot, and full of flavor. I highly recommend the Egg Benedicts (pulled pork and salmon), French Toast, and my recent favorite, the buttermilk pancakes (so fluffy and perfectly made). The potatos are always crispy and well seasoned, and my gf absolutely loves the bacon (with 0 regard to my bank account). The inside seating is nice but we usually sit outside when the sun is out. I love introducing people to this location it's one of my absolute favorites. Stop reading this review and just GO! (Food is a tinnyyy bit pricy but it's so worth it for the flavor/portion/service/ etc.)
Love this place. The food looked and tasted delicious. Server was friendly and the food came pretty quickly. Had the stuffed French toast, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, but we got there too late and they were out of the cornbread. Must be delicious too. Relaxing ambiance, perfect brunch spot. Five stars.
Huge portion sizes that are worth the price I think. The farmers omelette is my favorite. The weekends are very crowded for brunch, but weekdays are pretty mellow

Cute little brunch spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. Prompt service & friendly servers. We started with lattes, and got the smoked chicken chorizo scrambled eggs which came with potatoes and cornbread & the pancake combo with chicken apple sausage. My favorite was the pancake dish, I loved it! I’m a bit picky about how eggs are cooked in general so it’s hard for me to find the perfect egg dishes and they usually end up feeling mediocre. I’d love to try a different dish next time!
The vibes are great for brunch. The lattes we ordered were really good. The BLTA and fries were good. The breakfast burrito was decent. The service was a bit slow but overall staff were friendly.

I have been there several times and usually enjoy the food. However, our brunch today was a letdown, specifically regarding how a kitchen error was handled by ownership. We ordered the corned beef hash, scrambled eggs, and the special lemon ricotta pancakes. The pancakes arrived wet and doughy inside—not just moist from the cheese, but actual raw batter. To their credit, the server immediately flagged the owner, and they fired a new order. The second round arrived dark on the outside but unfortunately still raw in the center, likely due to the heat being too high in an attempt to rush the fix. Mistakes happen in the kitchen, but the service recovery was lacking. Despite sending the dish back and leaving it uneaten, the owner seemed hesitant to remove the item from the bill. I ended up paying for it to avoid escalating the situation, but as a chef and former restaurant owner, this was disappointing. If a guest cannot eat a dish due to preparation errors, it should be removed immediately without hesitation. I hope they can adjust their griddle temps for these pancakes and, more importantly, empower the team to make the right call on the bill next time.
For how long the wait was (over an hour) I expected Doyle street cafe to knock my socks off. It failed to do that. The food was good, but it was a far cry from the best brunch I’ve ever had. I did appreciate how big the space was and to operate both indoor and outdoor seating, but there should have been heaters at up for all of the outdoor seats. It was freezing but outdoor was the only seats available after the long wait.
Doyle Street Cafe was easy to locate. Parking was challenging. We were seated ONCE all our party arrived, even the person parking the car. The waitress was lack luster. She appeared to be bothered. We all ordered. Two of the four orders were wrong. Management corrected it by making one plate again and leaving the incorrect order at the table. The order was incorrect. We left it as well. The food was pleasant enough. We like the atmosphere and our company. We still left a tip, in hopes the waitress would treat the next people better.
This is for lunch with a party of 7, where the presumably manager deliberately made me repeat my orders several times because I asked if I can have the cornbeef hash and replace the cornbread with either extra egg or french fries. He definitely attempted to make me feel bad in front of my non-Asian, non-POC colleagues. When he eventually said "I can change it but it will cost extra", to which I responded "no problem", he came over to collect the menus and whisper in my ear that "you will still get the cornbread". To not be wasteful of food, my non-POC ate it instead. Servers generally don't really plan to refill our soda unless we asked for it. Of course, this business "smart" enough to top out an empty glass with ice first before fill it up with our diet soda. A server took away my clean napkins when I'm still eating my fries after finishing my cornbeef. Which means I have to wipe and clean at the bathroom. Note that each person has only 1 napkin. Why did this serve from away mine while I'm still eating is beyond me. This isn't the first time with poor services. In addition to other reviews from other customers, I twice went there with colleagues (party of 4, party of +20, respectively) and when I asked them which dish has the most meat proteins, the response i got was "they are all the same". Again, the owner/main guy is a pale, 50s, 60s years old man with facial hair. This kinda service would normally get a 0 stars from me.
