Nice dim sum with big portion, however, one waiter is quite rude when we ask for menu of congee. Not good service and attitude

I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years now. I believe when they first open BAC when I just don’t remember but ever since then I’ve been regular customer. So my recommendation is the popcorn chicken and I also fever that garlic green beans to die for . Thank you for participating.

OMG this food is still so fricken good! New: they have these "White Pork Buns" that have a crunchy outside, like a Dutch crunch roll. So delicious!

Took my neice that is visiting from NY out for an excellent Chinese dinner. We ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pea Shoots in Garlic Sauce and House Special Fried Rice and the Baked BBQ Pork buns (3 per order) hot tea and husband ordered a small Sapporo. Everything was absolutely delicious. Super fresh ingredients, all the veggies had a bit of snap to them and we will return with friends so they can enjoy the best Chinese dishes served in Alameda. Can't wait to try other dishes...This place is a true treasure.

Great for takeout! We order here almost every other week. Won Ton noodle soup, minced shrimp tofu, sesame chicken, and vegetable chicken. Great service, friendly staff, food is usually ready in 20 minutes, which is enough time to walk from my house and pick it up. Must try!

So good. Been all over China and this place not only feels authentic, it tastes incredible! The basics are fantastic but the unusual items (like duck jaw) are even more mind-blowing! Ask the waiters for their favorite exotic dishes, and wait for a wonderful surprise. The owner Timmy, is quiet but very, very knowledgeable about the food he serves.

Very delicious! Convenient parking lot. Not at all busy. We stopped in for mother's day as the east ocean and chefs wok were jammed. The food was excellent. Good portions and similar pricing. Very fresh ingredients! Some variations which made their rice noodle rolls, wu gok, and beef balls different and tasty!

The food was exceptional. The chef/entertainer was talented, had a humorous edge and prepared the food to each of my party as requested. My grandson and my son each caught a broccolli floret in their mouth as the chef tossed it to them. It was great. We were the last to leave. Will be returning soon.

Delicious food, good service, friendly local owners. Chinese cauliflower, shelled prawns, battered shishamo are a few of their tasty dishes. Some outdoor seating. Easy take-out.

Their Chinese food are excellent, portion are large, prices are little high, but it is worth it. Service is good! We have went there more than 20 times.

Had the dimsum here and it is very good, so we figured dinner was going to be just as good 👍 and we were right! The salted fish fried rice is literally the best I’ve ever had! Clams were yummy and the beef with chow fun is very good. They had these chicken wings also that were very good, crispy but drenched with this flavorful sauce! Really good spot :)

This place is amazing! My spouse and I picked up our toddler from school and decided we were all starving, so we headed in for an early lunch at this nearby dim sum spot on the corner of Buena Vista and Webster. The staff seated us immediately, and brought us a menu, tea, and cold drinks. We had duck, with chow mein, bok choi, pot stickers, salt and pepper chicken, chicken feet, shrimp and pork, Chinese donuts. Huge portions, so much food! When the bill came I could not believe the entire meal was only $70. Energy in the restaurant was very relaxed and happy. Staff are super friendly and kind. 100 percent will be back soon. Very much enjoyed our meal.

Fresh seafood. They have really good food. This place is small but they have made a patio area for outdoor dining. They started as one of the few places to sell Chinese style roast duck, chicken and now they have expanded the menu with fresh seafood including crab, shrimp and lobster. We have stopped by over the years and they offer affordable dishes and also good for parties and takeout. They have free parking on their lot as well as ample street parking. Off busy Webster street in Alameda. It’s a solid place for takeout and a quick bite. Not a place for a fancy date. Just a place for good authentic Chinese food. Recently we ordered roast duck, charsiu roast pork and few dimsum dishes to go. Siu mai steamed dumplings, and sticky rice wrapped in fragrant lotus leaf. Yum!!

Definitely a go-to in Alameda for Chinese food, dim sum and especially their xiao long baos (soup dumplings)! It's so hard to find XLB's that tastes just like DTF. The food was delicious! Oh! I forgot to mention the crab! It was fresh and they seem to make it differently than other restaurants. It was scrumptious!

Shrimp dumpling and radish cake are the best dim sums compared to the nearby dim sum restaurants. Other dim sums are average quality. Great staff, great service.

We take out, as it's incredibly convenient. Food is 2 times more expensive as prior to Covid, but we like the wonton noodle soup and Chinese broccoli & Dim Sum

Sometimes I really need Dim Sum. The other restaurants in Alameda stop serving Dim Sum around 2:30 or 3 pm. Kitchen of Alameda still has a limited range between 4 and 5, thank goodness.

Came here to have some Chinese cooking. This place is solid. The food is really authentic and huge portions. The servers were very friendly and efficient. I am allergic to all seafood which includes oyster sauce The server listened to my concern and was very accommodating. She told me that she would ask the chef to use soy sauce as a base for my beef and soft tofu dish. Now that's excellent customer service!! They have their own parking lot and serve dim sum during lunch time. I saw Chinese rice clay pot served at another table. It looked like it had a crunchy bottom. I gotta order that on my next visit. Drool....slurp...🤪

Authentic Cantonese cuisine, great dim sum served fresh and hot. Spacious, with outdoor seating, excellent service. Live fish, crab, and lobster in tanks, roasted ducks and barbecured pork hanging up. Overall very good!

Food was excellent especially the extra crispy salt & pepper pork chops. My only critique is that the place was very noisy even when it was not crowded or busy. It was more the staff talking loudly! My friend and I were sitting right across each other but could hardly hear ourselves talk because of the noise level. Maybe we'll order to go next time 🤔

I came for dim sum an hour before their break at 2:30 pm, they reopen at 4:30 pm for dinner. Service was quick and attentive. I dined alone, and after I ordered, the waitress said, "Please move to the bigger table😂". They have a good selection of dim sum. I ordered roast duck. It was crispy, juicy, and leaner than most places, served with plum sauce. Overall, the food was good and came fairly quickly. I will come back to try the dinner menu.

Right between east ocean seafood and chefs wok on Webster Ave in alameda, the kitchen is a good choice for those not wanting the "higher end" Chinese seafood restaurant experience. This restaurant is much smaller but in terms of food, the selection is just as good. Service from the waitresses was friendly and efficient. We had the oyster and roast pork clay pot, whole crispy chicken and a dish of stuffed tofu, eggplant and peppers. All were good. There was a decent amount of Oysters (the waitress specifically noted they're bottled) and roast pork in the claypot dish. The crispy chicken was crispy outside but not Dry inside and the stuffed eggplant, tofu ,pepper was unique and quite good Good flavors all around, not too greasy and light on the MSG . They have an outdoor dining area and a small parking lot in the back. I think The kitchen caters to locals but don't hesitate to give it a try if you're in the area and want a nice authentic Chinese meal. Go where the locals go.

Cantonese style restaurant famous for its pigeon dish. You have live seafood and authentic Cantonese steam soup. The food quality is good, a bit on the salty side. The portion is decent. You are looking at 5 dishes for 4 people. The average is about 40-50 per person if you don’t order alcohol.

Delicious Cantonese restaurant! The staff are so welcoming and make it feel like you are eating a home-cooked meal. Super generous portions and always leave feeling happy and full! Barbecued goose, steamed oysters with garlic, and clay pot dishes are a must.

Solidly good food with highly attentive service (I see others have different experiences but ours was fast and friendly). It is a little pricey compared with other dim sum but they have a big out door dining patio!!! This will be our choice for as long as we are doing pandemic dining

I remember 20+ years ago, this was the location of a KFC. They do have a back parking lot on Buena Vista which is convenient vs trying to find parking on Webster St. They have ample classics and Chef's specials which is good for a comfort meal fixing. Their Hot and Sour Soup is good, and a great starter to warm up the taste buds. We opted for a couple of classical family style dishes. The Salty Fish steam pork and the Bitter Melon Eggs both great with white rice. Another one of my favorites (and not many place has it) is their XO style Duck Chin (it's the Duck's bottom beak). this is more of a appetite and a delicacy for those with this type of appetite. The Lobster E-Fu Noodles was on sale for $38,99 and this was done just right. Overall this was a good dining experience worth repeating.

Great place for authentic Cantonese dinner. Dim sum is also great to enjoy as their pastry is absolutely delicious. My go-to with friends for dim sum if I'm ever out that way. Service is friendly and easy to wave down if you need anything. Place is medium spacious, maybe a few large tables inside. Outdoor seating in back. Parking lot on site helps with parking stress of alameda.

Fill the food was good the dining experience was not that great they gave us a plastic spoon with hot mustard and chilies to dip ask for soy sauce it came in package form only and our food came bits and pieces we didn't get it all at one time I would like to try to go only and see how the food taste that way

The waitress put a pot of tea on my table and walked away. I didn't ask for tea. According to their menu, they serve 4 different types of teas. The price of tea wasn't expensive, but it was a blunder of service on their part. The glutenous rice wrapped in leaves was good, but I’ve had better ones elsewhere. The tofu skin roll with pork and shrimp was salty. I didn't taste any pork or shrimp. The thousand-year egg in puff pastry was not anything special. I wouldn't order it again. I came for shrimp and pork wonton noodle soup, but it wasn't on the menu.

Good food everyone seemed very nice and friendly, except for our waitress, today JUN 26 2024. She was 3/10 :( At the beginning we ordered only one plate to share, she didn't like that I guess anyway we were just trying the place for the first time and we were planning to other another entre as we told her, we ended up ordering the same entre again because it was so good 💕

Food was decent. Service was not bad. Nice decor. Atmosphere was good. Overheard people at the nxt table say it was overrated, but I thought for the price the portions were great! Qlty was good not spectacular, but I didn't order any of their specialties, so I wasn't expecting more than what we got. Decent place. I would go again. There are so many places in Alameda I have yet to explore. I had a show around the corner. Entertainers weren't allowed a +1, so we opted to eat together.

I've had really good meals and not so good ones at Kitchen of Alameda. Last night I ordered pick up and had someone pick up the food. Food was mediocre and very disappointing. The BBQ pork was very dry, and they got my order wrong with beef chow fun. I have had good and bad experience -- I really like their Hainan Chicken, BBQ duck, etc. but some of the noodle soup I had there were not up to par.

Visited this spot on a Sunday for duck noodle soup, coincidentally during dim sum hours. The outdoor seating under a canopy and the convenience of their own parking lot were big pluses. They have some small and big tables inside for various party sizes. The duck noodle soup, rich with egg noodles and plenty of duck, was the highlight. We also tried the chicken feet and pork spare ribs in black bean sauce. Both dim sum items were meatier than usual and seemed freshly steamed, though they took a bit longer to serve. The jasmine tea, at $1.25 per person, was a delightful, albeit not free, addition. On the downside, the dishes were a bit too sweet for my liking, and the prices were higher compared to other local options. While the food was good, these factors might make me reconsider a return visit, especially with similar, more affordable choices nearby.

Overall: 3.8 *** out of 5 — solid dim sum with some standout bites and friendly vibes Dim sum hit the spot here! Highlights were the delicate ha gow, silky shrimp rice noodle rolls, crispy taro dumplings, savory tofu roll, juicy roast duck, tender Chinese broccoli, comforting preserved egg and chicken congee, golden sesame balls, and the crispy fried dumpling with a tasty pork filling. The shumai was a miss—oversized and lacking depth—and the tofu with gravy didn’t quite land. Service was warm and attentive, which made the experience even better.

This relatively new addition to the Cantonese and Dim Sum options to Alameda used to be a Kentucky Fried Chicken during my childhood. It remained empty for many years until Mama's Chicken Noodle (a Chinese soup restaurant) took over the space. So Mama's didn't last - maybe about 10 years - and Kitchen of Alameda has come to be. It features Dim Sum and Cantonese dishes. I went here for my birthday and the Dim Sum was decent, not spectacular, but good. The flavors are distinguishable from each other - the same cannot be said of Mings Tasty in Oakland. I still prefer East Ocean as they have a high turnover of customers, but Kitchen of Alameda will satisfy those who crave Dim Sum and don't want to wait forever - as is the case at East Ocean - to be seated. The restroom - as usual in Chinese owned establishments - needs some work. The servers are generally hands off, don't bother me types, come to think of it, none of the staff were considerably "friendly" but I'm used to this kind of service since I've been a youngster. So in total, it's a decent "shut up and eat your food," old style Cantonese experience which may be considered "rude" to non-Chinese.

Cozy local Asian food place. A little remodeled toward the front. Food is always very flavorful and prompt. Drawback is that it's a little on the pricey side. WOW, $12.00+ for wanton soup...ouch!

Food is reasonable, but the service is a joke. High prices, similar to their competitors East Ocean and Chef Wok, where service details are much better. Their specialty are roasted Duck, Queen chicken, roasted pig. Fresh striped bass, rock cod, Dungeness crab, Maine lobster, catfish.

It’s not as good based on the price it’s more like fast food quality. We order all their specials about 10 dishes , cost? $550.00 which is fine for supposedly their best but it turns out nothing close to what the price was. If you want to eat there just order basic and common dishes do not order what they suggest. For instance their scallops egg whites fried rice does not have wok smell another word it does not smell or taste good at all. Soup , we have crab meat with fish stomach and it’s too chewy and tasteless I can go on and on but this is my honest review.

I ordered chow mein and asked for celery to be added and the guy was like no and then he said he said OK. And of course, when I got my order, there was no celery included. Then I find out he overcharged me the boot so I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again, even though it’s very convenient. I hope the person that took my order gets fired for being a jerk.

This place does not deserve any stars if there were an option. If your not these people's race, they will treat you as if you were bottom of the barrel. You can say they are racist as this has been my 3rd visit. Food is okay not the greatest. They seem to always have big parties and serve them as a priority vs your the option. The server we have had is a tall male server with black side swept hair. I’ve provided a picture. The times I visited with my family he’s given us the stare down as if he is profiling us. We are Hispanic and he always mentioned the price of the plate as if we cannot see it on the menu lol. Long story short, I tip based on service and if your service is lousy best believe I will not tip. Mind you this particular server does not refill our drinks , does not check up on us on how we are doing and lastly we need to fetch our own bill to pay. So basically why tip? Well last day I came here once we payed he said we are not welcome here because we did not tip. I did tell him I tip based on service and apparently as you can tell your service was not great you should take note on why you were not tipped. If your begging for tips it’s not our fault your position does not pay well enough and you shouldn’t be in the business if you are going to harass your customers for tips. CHINA VILLA is the place to go just in case other customers have experience this nonsense.
