It's our FAVORITE family restaurant, and we often go to it. It's in our neighborhood, which makes it even more special. We love going there; the service is great, and the staff are the best. My little son loves this place so much🫰🏻 The prices and the size of the rolls are perfect, I like it.✨
Great place to go for a date night in San Francisco. Fresh fish and super friendly staff. From sashimi too rolls they are all deilishious. We will be back for sure!!
Here for dinner last night. Very fresh and creative specialty fish dishes in addition to traditional sushi offerings, friendly and attentive service, lively and attractive room; they also have three private rooms for party/group meals and karaoke. Reasonably priced and they have $1 oyster nights (not sure on when these are offered). Recommend.
A different dining experience! Our children love this place. One needs to take off the shoes before being seated. Good food, good ambiance. But it was hard for older patrons to get up from the floor 😁. Also, one of our orders didn't arrive on time, so we took it to go. Recommended!
First time at the Clement Sakesan. Came for happy hour and was not disappointed. Very good pricing for the quality of food. Extremely attentive service that always has needs in mind. Takoyaki was solid, roll with unagi hit the spot and the mackerel was fantastic. Seated in those sunken tables for the most fun experience.
Went on a Saturday at 7p and there were plenty of seats. Sesame sauce in the spinach was incredible. Sushi was great. Some of the best prices in the city.
Been here once after hours of playing basketball. Upon arrival, the ambiance was modern and entertaining. Didn’t wait much since I knew someone that worked here and was seated almost immediately. Was seated at the tables were you take off your shoes and cross cross your legs which made it a very authentic experience. I don’t usually eat raw fish but I did here and enjoyed some sake along the way. I highly recommend this place to anyone that loves to eat, drink or just to have a great time with their laid back type of vibes. Definitely will be back!
Can’t wait to come back and try more asap! So nice it’s open later too and amazing vibe, delicious!

honestly one of my favorite place to get sushi in sf. they usually play good music and have really cool traditional style Japanese seating.
been meaning to come here for awhile and it was definitely worth it! the prices are reasonable with a wide array of options on the menu (it’s lowkey overwhelming but great to have options!). i shared a couple smaller dishes with my partner and they were all delicious. we got a few sushi rolls, the kastudon, and skewers. all of it GREAT!the service was great too. would totally come again with a bigger crowd :)
Tasty Japanese restaraunt on Clement. Great prices during happy hour4 pm-6pm and 9-10. Very fresh ankimo and sashimi’s

First time visiting this restaurant (opened for dinner only). Definitely one of the better sushi restaurants in Bay Area. Customer service was excellent, very friendly and attentive! We were most impressed by the sushi. Very good quality fish, fresh! We loved the salmons (e.g. Salmon Belly, King Salmon, Salmon Tataki, etc.) The tunas were also excellent. The tartare dishes are worth a try. The rolls were okay. I thought the California Roll, although sold by all Japanese restaurants, could be better made. We tried the skewers, and thought they were mediocre. We also tried the lamb rack, which was on the chewy side, but taste was good. Desserts were delicious, especially the Yuzu, and Uji Matcha cheesecakes. Must try! I wish the pieces were bigger, haha. In terms of the drinks, we loved the smaller-than-average-size water glasses, and that there was no ice in the water. The green tea...we tasted better ones elsewhere. We didn't like that the tea came warm; we expected hot tea since the weather was getting cold. We liked the decor, but disliked the somewhat loud music. We thought it was unique for the restaurant to have Horigotatsu-like seatings. It would be perfect if they could add some seat cushions. Despite all the imperfections, I highly recommend this restaurant.
They reopened after a renovation, it’s very nice inside with plenty of Japanese style booths to sit in. The food was good, we got chirashi, beef don, chicken gizzards, oysters, and a yuzu cheesecake. They were all satisfying, it was just the gizzards that were a bit too charred. The prices were great as well, affordable compared to other Japanese restaurants nowadays. Service was quick and they are very attentive. We had a good experience and will definitely be back!
The food here is fantastic! Some of the best Japanese food and sushi I've ever had. I highly recommend the Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver) especially with how reasonably priced it is during happy hour. What's more to love about the food here is the price to quality ratio. Very reasonably price, yet so very delicious. You will not be dissapointed for how much you spend in relation to the enjoyment and flavor profile you'll get from your meal. The service on the otherhand, is comically poor. It's as if you are interupting their day by arriving at the restaurant with the intention of ordering food from, y'know, the restaraunt 😅 There's a sense that they're upset and perturbed to be serving you. It's nearly impossible to get smile from anyone or get any sense that they seem to be engaged or at least content in their work. Perhaps they are family members of the owner(s)? Anyhow, they do not seem to be happy to be there or happy that you are either. I only give the atmosphere 4 out of 5 due to the quality of the front of house staff, as I find that to also be a factor of the "vibe" of a place. Other than that, the simple, minimalist vibe with low seating in the front is quite fantastic!
Overall a nice place to grab a meal, very clean and inviting interior with decent to good value for SF ~ Solid Chicken Teriyaki Donburi for $16 roughly Okay Philly Roll for $8 And Overpriced Bonfire Roll for $18 ~ highlight of the orde was the open flame on the plate, NOT the dish itselfl

This place has a few hole in the floor tables tables, a few more 2 tops and private rooms for big parties(karaoke) The vibe is nice and the service is good too. The menu has a lot of options. I got the green tea wich is $1 with refill. For appetizer i got the takoyaki which was flavorful and just delicious. In addition, i got the Lion king which i felt was lacking flavor and a crunchy roll that was good.
I was disappointed with their nigiris -- my friend and I each got a 5-piece nigiri omakase, and the fish was gummy. We got Amberjack, Red Snapper, Mackerel and Chu Toro I think (I forgot what the last one was). Some of them were gummy/chewy, and the rice tasted either old or undercooked (likely old -- they've hardened a bit). We split an Inside Out roll and it wasn't really anything special. I did like that they have private karaoke rooms in the back which looked fun, but yea definitely don't expect upscale omakase quality

I recently visited Sakesan Sushi & Bistro and left feeling pretty underwhelmed. The atmosphere was actually decent, comfortable enough for a casual meal, though nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the service was a major disappointment. It felt inattentive and disorganized, and the overall experience suffered because of it. As for the food, it was average at best. The fish quality did not meet expectations for a sushi spot in San Francisco, and the flavors lacked freshness and refinement. It wasn’t a terrible meal, but it certainly wasn’t one I’d go out of my way to repeat.
Yeah the food is good, but I was served scorching hot miso soup with no warning. I did my normal spin and blow of the soup so it wouldn’t be hot, but it still burned my tongue to a second degree. Made the food enjoyable and couldn’t drink the rest of the soup.
Sushi omakase is fantastic, but the skewers are the exact opposite. Chicken skin is too salty, felt like they only added the seasoning after grilled. Scallops are disappointing, overcooked and are too dry–I don’t feel juicy and the sweetness it should have. Basically no service, one waiter even took our plate without asking if we are done with it (I know it’s an empty plate, but at least ask before). I’m glad another waiter asked us how the food was, and we gave her our honest opinions. Hopefully yakitori here can get better in the future.

We came here today, just two of us, and it was a terrible experience! Some Google reviews claim their sushi is “A+++” — do NOT believe that!!! The oysters looked cheap and tempting, but they were absolutely not fresh. All the sashimi was the same — not fresh at all. After the meal, both of us ended up with diarrhea. This was one of the worst dining experiences. Never coming back and I would never recommend this place to anyone!
The prices are amazing and the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately the food was below mediocre and I got stomach flu from the oysters. Please do not get the oysters.
