Beautiful place with a lot of history. Great if you want to try the local drinks. We took Bicerin and Marocchino- two traditional hot beverages and baci di dama + Bunet as dessert. The best lunch I had when I was recently in Italy. Fantastic ranges of Italian dishes and the restaurant is spacious and one can sit comfortably and enjoy a meal and desserts as well.

Ho fatto un ottima colazione, cappuccio e brioche, il 01/01/26. Gentilissima la signora alla cassa, pessimo il personale dietro al banco, uno addirittura si lamentava ad alta voce mentre preparava i caffè. Peccato che non ti diano il classico sorso d’acqua che solitamente accompagna il caffè/cappuccino anche in bar di minor fama.

Abbiamo aspettato circa 15 minuti prima di sederci a causa di un numero consistente di persone in attesa. Il cameriere è estremamente gentile e disponibile, anche con clienti che si sono presentati maleducati e verbalmente aggressivi. I prezzi sono eccessivi per quanto si può consumare per una colazione: due bicerin (bicchierINO di cioccolata con caffè), un dolce e una brioche: totale 32 euro. La brioche ci è stata portata vuota nonostante avessimo chiesto la crema al pistacchio. Non abbiamo voluto segnalare l'errore per non mettere in ulteriore difficoltà il personale. Il locale è complessivamente elegante e curato, frequentato da molti locali.

Ambiente favoloso e locale storico. Abbiamo preso solo 2 bicerin (che peró erano ottimi). Non do 5 stelle solo per il personale un po’ sbrigativo ma sicuramente dovuto alla mole di clienti che viene ogni giorno.

Ambiente molto bello e caratteristico. Il personale che ci ha servito era molto gentile e professionale. La grande pecca è stato il cibo servito: siamo stati li nel pomeriggio e abbiamo preso due brioche palesemente vecchie, dure e stoppose, cosa vergognosa visto il tenore del locale e soprattutto i prezzi per nulla a tutti accessibili

Fantastic place with an unbelievable atmosphere inside. One of the iconic cafès of Torino right in front of the central square. The food is good (tried on separate occasion) and it gives justice to the local tradition and high quality standard. Our last visit was shadowed by a very bad service. From being ignored and not even being acknowledged (even when saying hello at the entrance) up to not being able to buying or taking anything to go. Apparently, everything has to be done by the waiters and they didn't seem to have any will of actually being there, let alone serving new coming customers. After waiting at the tables outside (as instructed), we left after some time has paseed, feeling as if we needed to beg for a service.

Such a beautiful place, shame about the food and the service! I am not sure if it is because they are paid a really bad salary or because they have the Italian spirit?! Then, the little food that comes with the €17 aperitif is old, dry and scarce! We were 5 people, including a child that was charged a€ 8 for a iced tea, without any aperitif food. The waiter was rude, tiered and bored. He treated us like second hand citizens. The tablecloth was dirty and stained. Beautiful place, but never again!

Friendly, delightful, smartly dressed staff. Beautiful building and an incredible array of sweets. They were incredibly kind squeezing us in for lunch. With the look of the place and how wonderfully we were looked after I expected more from the food. I had the omega 3 salad. Tinned tuna, very dry crab which I'm pretty sure was a shredded crab stick, tinned sweet corn, finely chopped celery and some julienned smoked salmon on top of crunchy iceberg lettuce. Such a shame.

We ordered two Bicerin, an egg sandwich and some bite size desserts/pizzas. The drinks were good but the food was nothing worth to mention. I came and sat down in a table outside, we waited for 10mins and no one served us and we were confused how the order. I finally had to walk in to the shop and tried to ask some help. One waiter finally took care us and helped us to select the food. Not highly recommended but if you have to try the Bicerin, this is one of the oldest cafe which located in the center of Turin.

Ottimo locale storico, con un ambiente elegante e bello! Il cibo è buono (caffè e dolci), ma non direi eccezionali! Il servizio è pessimo: pur gentili, il cliente non è prioritario. Un‘attesa di 30 minuti prima di ordinare é minimo, ma può arrivare anche ad 1 ora non agli orari di punta. Sembrano inoltre abbastanza disorganizzati, che si nota dal fatto, che più camerieri chiedono se abbiamo ordinato e di aspettare “un attimo”. Questa qualità di servizio è fortemente in contrasto con tutto il resto.

Sicuramente un locale che era meraviglioso in una location stupenda, ma allora perché 2 stelle? Si vede chiaramente che il locale vive delle glorie del passato, ma tutto ciò che è recente è fatto malamente, si vedano i bagni al piano di sotto, le crepe sul soffitto sopra la scalinata al fondo del locale, o il fatto che dal lavandino del bagno delle donne non esca acqua. Tutto ciò si addice a un bar della stazione ma non a un locale di gran classe dove i prezzi sono in linea con l'eleganza e le glorie passate ma tutto ció che è contemporaneo è fatto in maniera economica, un gran peccato.

This place exists because it's on the piazza and has a pleasant view. Otherwise the staff is rushed, rude, and even a simple request for a coffee was messed up. Unless you absolutely have to stop there, I'd avoid it and go elsewhere.

Sono stata a Torino il 13 / 11/ 2025 e ci siamo imbattuti in questo bar per fare la colazione …. Abbiamo fatto una classica colazione prendendo 2 cappuccini 2 cornetti un biscotto ed un caffè per un totale di 29,50… innanzitutto servizio pessimo locale non molto pulito … tutto quello che abbiamo mangiato era di pessima qualità e abbiamo lasciato anche qualcosa nei piattini ed infine il conto lascia davvero allibiti …

siamo stati questo pomeriggio, non aspettandoci di vivere una brutta esperienza. abbiamo ordinato due caffè e due baci di dama, e successivamente abbiamo chiesto al barista due bicchieri d’acqua, poichè eravamo in due. ci risponde “l’acqua non l’avete pagata, non c’é sullo scontrino”, a quel punto gli rispondo di esserne a conoscenza e che, come precedentemente chiesto, volevamo solo due bicchieri. scocciatissimo, si rivolge al collega borbottando anche ad alta voce. noi gli facciamo notare che se fosse mai stato un problema servirceli, ne avremmo fatto a meno. ce li serve, ma sempre con quel fare annoiato. inutile dire che il personale è davvero pessimo, mi sono letta un pò di recensioni per capire se la mia esperienza fosse l’unica, ma noto che ce ne sono a bizzeffe. peccato, perché con un pò più gentilezza da parte del personale, quel locale avrebbe molto più successo.

Sabato 29 novembre 2025 ore 12 ci sediamo ad un tavolo siamo in quattro aspettando qualcuno che venga al nostro tavolo vengono servite tre persone accanto a noi dopodiché tocca a noi . Invece vengono serviti due tavoli occupati dopo il nostro. Non si può accettare un servizio cosi scadente per non parlare dei tavoli sporchi, comunque ci siamo alzati e ce ne siamo andati . Un bar rinomato in piazza San Carlo oltretutto molto caro,non si può tollerare un servizio cosi pessimo

Buonasera,faccio il ristoratore da piu di 30 anni ,lavorato un molti locali lussuosi di Torino nei anni '90 è questo che sto per raccontare a noi non era permesso....oggi le mie figlie (di 20 e 17 anni) si sono recate in questo storico locale, attratte dalla sua fama e dalla splendida location in Piazza San Carlo. Purtroppo, l'esperienza si è rivelata estremamente deludente a causa di un servizio inaccettabile. Nonostante il locale non fosse affollato in modo critico, le mie figlie sono state completamente ignorate dal personale per un tempo prolungato. Erano sedute ma nessuno si è degnato di prendere l'ordinazione o anche solo di rivolger loro uno sguardo. In un caffè che si definisce "salotto elegante" e vanta una lunga storia di "servizio impeccabile", è inammissibile che due giovani clienti vengano palesemente non considerate. L'impressione è stata di una profonda mancanza di professionalità e attenzione al cliente. Dopo aver atteso invano ed essersi sentite a disagio e non benvenute, hanno preferito andarsene senza consumare. Un vero peccato! L'eleganza degli arredi e l'atmosfera storica vengono completamente vanificate da un servizio che non è all'altezza del nome e del prestigio del locale. Spero che la Direzione prenda seriamente in considerazione questi episodi per formare adeguatamente il personale. L'educazione e l'attenzione dovrebbero essere garantite a tutti i clienti, indipendentemente dall'età.

Abbiamo preso due cornetti pessimi in questo posto. Ci hanno fatto sedere a un tavolo sporco, che è stato pulito davanti a noi utilizzando il menù. La qualità dei cornetti era scarsa, paragonabile a quella di cornetti che si possono trovare in qualsiasi supermercato. I prezzi sono eccessivi per un locale di così bassa qualità.

Siamo entrati in questo bar storico in piazza San Carlo in Torino alle ore 22:30 . Appena varcata la soglia d’ingresso ci assale un odore nauseabondo molto persistente ma la cosa più inquietante la figura del barista dietro il bancone alla macchina del caffè letteralmente scazzato e molto infastidito della presenza di clienti a quell’ora della serata nonostante la chiusura fosse alle 00:00 ,sinceramente ho pensato che mai più entrerò allo storico CAFFÈ TORINO e premetto che ho lavorato per più di 40 anni nel settore dell’alimentazione e sapevo che il mio lavoro mi impegnava nei giorni di festa o notturni ma un sorriso e un minimo di accoglienza verso i clienti era il mio modo di lavorare.. Purtroppo Al CAFFÈ TORINO dí Storico é rimasto solo il nome ,ahimè che tristezza e che bruyfigura ho fatto con i miei amici …NAI PIÙ

Esperienza molto negativa in un locale che vive principalmente di fama storica. All’arrivo veniamo fatti accomodare a un tavolo senza alcun accompagnamento o spiegazione, creando confusione su quale fosse effettivamente il nostro posto. In sala altri clienti si lamentavano per lunghe attese e, purtroppo, anche per noi l’ordine viene preso dopo circa 35 minuti. Ordiniamo due marocchini e chiedo un bicchiere d’acqua frizzante. Al momento del servizio arrivano i caffè, un bicchiere d’acqua e una bottiglietta da 25 cl da 4€ che non avevamo richiesto. Facciamo notare che avevamo chiesto solo il bicchiere e che, non essendo stato specificato alcun costo (anche perché ad altri clienti era stato portato senza richiesta), non avremmo ordinato la bottiglia. Ci viene risposto che la bottiglia “sostituisce” il bicchiere, con la differenza che il bicchiere è incluso mentre la bottiglia è a pagamento. Chiediamo quindi di rimuoverla. Poco dopo sentiamo un commento poco professionale da parte del personale, pronunciato ad alta voce e chiaramente riferito a noi, situazione decisamente spiacevole per un cliente. A quel punto abbiamo pagato e siamo andati via. Da segnalare anche che la qualità del marocchino era sotto la media rispetto ad altri bar torinesi. Un vero peccato per un locale storico: servizio disorganizzato, poca chiarezza e scarsa attenzione al cliente. Esperienza che non consigliamo.

We stopped here for a coffee and what a HUGE mistake. After having walked through a rainy day and wanting to sit for a water and coffee bicerin, we thought we would try this place without having researched reviews. We should have done our research because they are not wrong. Overpriced water, cold coffee, when we mention that the coffee was cold we were brushed off as if we didn't know that the cream on top was cold.....um we actually had a proper bicerin from the original cafe two days before and it was amazing, served hot with cream on top, oh and double the size. So please don't waste your time here, no smiles, terrible service and very expensive, go to the original bicerin cafe, wait in line if you must - it's worth it!

Cafe Torino is an absolute disgrace of a restaurant — hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had, in Italy or anywhere else. I ordered tagliolini alla Nerano with ricci di mare. What I received was a crime against Italian cuisine: overcooked, dry pasta drowned in a repulsive watery green sludge from zucchini, with not a single trace of ricci. I sent it back, hoping for a fix, but what came out of the kitchen the second time was even more disgusting. This wasn’t just badly executed — it was inedible. Coming from Naples, I know what Nerano pasta is supposed to be. This was pure mockery — a dish that no serious cook, let alone a “chef,” would ever dare to serve. Honestly, my toddler could put together something more respectable. My husband’s lamb with spinach? Equally pathetic, bland, and uninspired. Overpriced cafeteria food would have been better. The waiter was kind, but it doesn’t matter when what comes out of the kitchen is this insulting. For a restaurant in such a prestigious piazza, this is a total scam. We walked out with a massive bill and me essentially unfed, because there was no way I’d pay for that disaster. Cafe Torino is nothing but a tourist trap, serving garbage at premium prices. A complete humiliation for Italian cuisine and the city of Turin. Do not waste your money, your time, or your appetite here.
