Opiniones de Cafe Espresso Albans
A hidden gem in Saint Albans. I love their white chocolate mocha. The live music they host every week is top notch. Such a great addition to this community.
Great environment to meet friends and have nice cup of coffee. Their sandwiches are excellent. The staff very hospitable and pleasant.
My boyfriend and I are switching away from Starbucks and we tried this place out. They were so helpful with helping us find our new favorite drink and they were so kind. I love this place and will be returning.
I was visiting WV From NC and looked up some coffee shops online. The pics looked great so I went around 15 minutes out of my way to find Coal River Coffee. I enjoyed the hospitality, the great coffee, and atmosphere. I even bought a pound of Wild and Wonderful coffee to take home ( which they roasted) and that has been so tasty as well. Thankyou!!!
Good Coffee... Reasonable prices... Some tasty snacks...Very friendly staff. Usually a line and don't expect fast - that is part of the charm. Looks to be adding live music. Saint Albans sorely needed a place like this. Worth the stop.
We stopped in for some tea and coffee, the tea made by the young lady Ashley was exceptionally amazing! The coal miner mocha my husband got was also wonderful! The two young ladies working were very nice!
Very welcoming and cozy place. They have a wide selection of coffee drinks, food, and even wine and beer. They also feature artwork from local artists for sale on the walls. Their cold brew is delicious!
Best coffee I've had in West Virginia so far... The baristas are courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. I will definitely bring friends back here for coffee. (but they need a cribbage board and cards).
Repurposed Olde Main historical store front on Old Main Street, St. Albans, WV. Outside appearance is bare-bones minimal, and you may miss it if not paying close attention. Inside is nicely done - exposed brick walls & hardwood flooring, with an eclectic assortment of chairs, tables, & other furnishings. The owners are super-friendly & super-helpful (got a history lesson on Americano vs. brewed coffee, very interesting). Today's drip was Guatemalan, which they buy straight from the source and roast freshly. Gotta admit, one of the best cups of java I've had in a good, long while! And the prices are very fair & reasonable! Folks, if you're driving out of your way to drink corporate coffee (Starbucks), save yourself the time & trouble and support your local coffee houses. The quality & personal touches really do make a difference!
THHHHHEEEEE BEST COFFEE SHOP! If you haven’t been here, then you need to go NOW! The coffee is delicious, plus THEY HAVE THEIR OWN CRAFT BEER AND LIVE MUSIC EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT! They added a great addition to their team with the new barista, who is very knowledgeable about the menu! KEEP UP THE HARD WORK AND SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES! 😄
I like my coffee more of a medium/dark roast and highly recommend Ugandan roast if you're like me. Smells and tastes amazing. Definitely a great local place to visit.
My fave coffee shop in the entirety of Kanawha County! Such amazing coffee and food PLUS the staff is always so so SO kind and fun! Love it here!!!
Hidden gem in the heart of DOWNTOWN. St.Albans. wonderful staff and the absolute best coffee. (Try the Cold brew)🤗. Highly reccomend.
Great coffee shop right on main Street. Good place to stop after a paddle or float on the coal river. Awesome food with fresh local ingredients including gluten free options.
I truly love this place. The coffee the food and the atmosphere is phenomenal. If you have not been here you need to go and get your coffee fix.here you will be treated like family.
One of the best bagels with lox (salmon) and cream cheese in the state. Always a pleasure to visit for great coffee, enough tables to go around, and inviting ambience.
Great coffee. Wonderful atmosphere. A strong sense of community. It's so cozy you'll never want to leave. This place embodies the heart and soul of St. Albans, WV. Highly recommend.
I love this place! Plenty of gluten free options and the staff are so nice! Good products. Hate that it's in a conservative area but the staff are amazing either way!
Coffee was very good. Had a black and white which was excellent. Service was very slow compared to another time we visited. Was a long wait.
It's a comfortable welcomed change in the world of fast food and fast pace. You can tell they sincerely care about the customer as an individual. Fantastic coffee and grilled cheese!
Great service and very friendly people. The coffee is locally roasted and amazing. A wonderful local place! We will be back if we are in the area again.
Wonderful! Lexi is always on top of things, even let me in a little early this morning. The Ugandan brew is excellent. If you haven't already, check them out!
I have not been able to try yet... I have delivered there several times times, tho....and everyone is so nice it's a great atmosphere...
Cold brew was strong and solid while the almond butter and apple toast was a perfect balance of flavor and textures. I could eat that toast all day. As a side note the paleo pumpkin muffin was phenomenal, It was like eating a pumpkin pie without the artificial sweet, simply perfect.
It was great!!! Had a frappe and it was delicious. Just a nice place to go to sit and relax, talk to friends and enjoy a nice afternoon. Nice people work there too!!!
Super cute spot and everyone is always so nice there! They spotlight local authors and art and have plenty of seating if you have the time to hang around. Of course the coffee and the food are great…just a nice casual cozy kind of vibe!
I stopped in for a coffee & cookie on my way to an AirBnb. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the products I asked about. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious as was the decaf Irish cream latte I ordered. As an added bonus, I found 2 books I can’t wait to dive into in the used book section. Thank you for making my day a little sweeter 😁
One of the best coffee shops I’ve been too. Tried something new and chose pistachio coffee. It was amazing. Cute little books shelves and atmosphere were great. Employees the sweetest to my kids. Would give more than five stars if possible
Quaint, quiet little coffee shop with excellent options and an interesting IPA menu. Great place to sit and enjoy the ambiance or browse the used books. Has live music, sometimes too, which is always good.
Stopped here for breakfast on a road trip, and the food and coffee were amazing! We got a bagel with smoked salmon and a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, and both were filling meals. We also got a Queen Bee iced latte, which I would highly recommend. On a side note, it was difficult finding the prices for things when ordering. The staff were friendly and quick, and the atmosphere of the coffee house is soothing and relaxing. Will stop here again if we're passing through!
Such a fun place to stop for a drink! I stopped by this past Thursday to join the open mic and fell in love with the place. Friendly and welcoming staff. I got the Mocha Frape, and everyone wanted to try it and bought their own afterwards cause I wasn't giving it all away! New favorite spot
Love it. Regularly go and work their and get a gluten free, dairy free baked good and coffee.
The best atmosphere around Saint Albans! The coffee is always amazing and it's such a cozy place to sit and relax
Coffee was great but try the cinnamon roll coffee cake it made my eyes roll back in my head it was the perfect treat! It was so yummy!
One of the best local coffee shops in the state. The coffee is always fantastic, the shop is always clean and the staff are always super helpful and super polite. I return as a customer every chance I get that I'm in the Saint Albans area. Thanks for another great experience today.
By far the best coffee I’ve had in my life! The creations they come up with , amaze me! Hannah is amazing and always upon request makes me her own creations. This beats Starbucks anyday. I only wish they had other locations, I’m from Kentucky and everytime I’m in town for awhile I come here everyday that I am! It’s just that good!
This place is wonderful and Michael and Hannah were amazing. We were there for a few days and got to know them a little. On our last morning at we left Hannah wrote on my cup a message for safe travels. Talk about service! btw, the coffee and Chai tea were both excellent. Sorry we only had a few days in St. Albans. Will definitely stop in the next time we are in the area.
Christmas cookie latte on a cold morning, doesn't get much better! The staff is friendly, the space is eclectic and cool with great local art on the wall, and they make amazing coffee! You've gotta stop in!
Was going to get a latte, but decided to ask the barista to surprise me. Boy was I glad I did! Fantastic fall-themed latte. Ended up getting a sandwich too which was NOT disappointing. My friend got a breakfast sandwich, and the bacon was SO GOOD. I like my coffee strong, and this mug had just come from the gym, swole up! People were great, service was stellar! - Jimmy Couragethen
Excellent atmosphere. Fabulous service and delicious food and drinks. Offers an array of seating. Used book sales. West Virginia artistry available for purchase. Adult beverages are an option. Regularly there are local musicians performing adding to the delightful ambiance.
Great atmosphere and just all around wonderful place to spend time with family and friends! Such a great variety of coffee, specialty drinks as well as food and yummy baked goods. So glad we have this great little shop in our town!
I have worked at another local cafe for a year and have yet to find a coffee shop that could compare to our coffee. I got a white mocha raspberry iced latte and it was so good! Definitely did not disappoint at all. The staff was friendly and I got one of their suggestions. I would definitely go in more often if I wasnt far away!!
Had several breakfast options this morning. The apple, gouda, and turkey sandwich was amazing! Everything was amazing! The breakfast sandwich was a hit! That cheesecake brownie did not disappoint! Highly recommend and we will be back soon! Very helpful and friendly staff. 😊 great prices! Food was so fresh even after a 30 minute car ride lol
Very good coffee, service, and professionally ran. There's plenty of parking in the front and back of the location. Overall a very good cup of coffee and great place to just hangout and enjoy the great city of St Albans. I did try my daughter's beverage choice, the unicorn and it was amazing!!
Cute, local, coffee shop in historic downtown St. Albans. Coal River Coffee might be the best coffee in West Virginia, and can compete with the best anywhere. The service is friendly and the shop has an eclectic mix of tables and chairs where you can relax or chat with locals, visiting river paddlers, and on many days, the mayor. The best surprise for me was the small collection of books and souvenirs they sell. I came for a coffee, and stayed for a second with my new books!
Both my kids love going in there, weve only gone in a few times since noticing it in that plaza there. I just love that its an evironment for my kids too. They have the coolest lego table my son enjoys, I ended up making one for him at home. My daughter and I love the peanut butter mocha frappes. The wall that reads "pay it forward" is so inspiring and encourages kindness. The place is filled with kind people too. Its now my fave place to go for coffee.
I love this coffee place. The London fog is delicious!!! They also sell used books at a great price too, so if you know any coffee loving book goblins this is a good place to go. I haven't tried much there food wise, but I can tell you that the smoked salmon bagel is addictive. This is my favorite coffee place and the prices are lower than most coffee places around here but far better flavor
This little coffee shop is so nice! I grew up in florida and it gives the vibes of our little indie coffee shops. I love that they support local artists by selling their items, and having mic night, comedy night, etc. I can definitely see us becoming regulars!
I just had a delicious Brie and Fig grilled cheese and an incredible Americano!
Great coffee shop, very wekcoming, good coffee. Very nice staff
Amazing local coffee shop! When I’m in town, I always make it a point to stop by!
Great LOCALLY owned coffee spot. Bring your laptop and make use of the WiFi or check out their Facebook page to see when local musicians are playing. Great family atmosphere owned by outstanding community oriented owners. The food is gluten free and your coffee and light snacks are all well-marked for all allergens of concern. The staff are all polite and friendly.
It was a great experience to have a conversation and a coffee here. There was a super adorable Australian shepherd who came in with his owner! They had live music playing and I spoke to the musician who had told me he plays every Wednesday. Cold coffee hot coffee beer and wine and hot chocolate were the drink selections and they had some brownies cookies, and bagels. They may have had more than that but that’s just what I saw.
Campfire Frappuccino - a medium is under $5 and it tastes like smores it's really good and its alot cheaper then Starbucks It has Dark chocolate and toasted marshmallow flavor. Blended with coffee, milk and ice. Topped with whipped cream. Would have posted it fuller but I drank some before I took the picture The grilled cheese was ok but they were out of sour bread dough bread and I guess the cheddar cheese got the Colby jack on it it was alright but the chocolate chips cookies are amazing The price wasn't to bad with the grilled cheese, a chocolate chips cookie and a medium Frappuccino was $12 something
They have local beer if you aren't in the mood for a coffee. Comfortable couches and Gary Hayes on guitar was a wonderful treat
Very knowledge and friendly staff. Can't wait to take the whole family back.
super cute little cafe with large amount of options and fun breakfast options. The two baristas were very friendly, and they whipped up the drinks for our large order quickly and skillfully. We had like six drinks and a bagel and they were super cool about it. Nice sticker selection as well. Highly recommend!
This is the COOLEST little place in town ran by some amazing people! Today was my first time stopping by. The pumpkin bar was DELICIOUS beyond words, coffee was amazing, service was amazing. What a great place to stop by and read a book. I WILL be back ♡ they have a place to donate books and you can even sit and read their books or bring your own - how cool. My new favorite place!
We chose the Red Dragon Lattes! The Barista said it was like a Red Velvet Latte❤️🖤 of course that was our choice! Excellent place to chill & enjoy! We placed my Dads Bench outside their door! #hometowngirl support this locally family owned small business❤️🖤 Worth getting off the Interstate! #supportinglocal
Best coffee in town. They can get busy but you'll understand why when you get your order!
Lovely coffee shop and the employees were helpful. They roast the coffee themselves. We stopped in and took our coffee and food out. The shop is nice and they have tables and a couch. We also bought some of the West Virginia blend coffee grounds to make at home. The coffee is amazing. Definitely recommend people stop in.
I had house drip coffee and coffee cake at my most recent visit. The arrangement is nice for small group conversation. Not fancy; lots of repurposed furniture (that's a plus in my thinking). This business supports the community with stand-up comedy, local musicians and special events. Friendly staff and customers. Limited pastry selection.
Fantastic coffee shop in St. Albans. I got the iced chai latte and a bagel. Perfect on all counts and a great staff!!!
I was here for Pest Control Services and it is the first time I’ve ever been inside this beautiful place. I was offered a coffee from one of the two sweet girls up in the front, which I kindly declined because I had already went through Wendy’s earlier. I had a few more stops for pest control and one brought me close to Coal River Coffee Co. again. I walked back in and decided to get a coffee and the service here from those ladies is phenomenal. They absolutely love their job and their work ethic shows it. Great hospitality, great coffee, great people. If you haven’t stopped here, you need to. Simply a blessed business!
This place is so welcoming and the staff is so friendly. Everything from the selection of coffee, tea, food and pastries was perfect. The aesthetic here is so Awesome and fun. I came in to town from Ohio to visit my aunt and found this coffee shop on a whim when looking on Google. I'm so glad I did. I highly recommend. Love it!
Place is rustic with furniture which i love. Obviously a coffee shop but also sell IPAs (beer) nice curveball. The two ladies working the counter sweet and full of personality. Overall phenomenal vibe!
I was gifted a specialty coffee for Mother’s Day and had to return it to be ground. I didn’t eat while there, but the food being served looked outstanding. The crowd there for lunch seemed pleased. The staff was so sweet, welcoming, and the atmosphere there was so cool and quirky. I will absolutely be going back there for a planned lunch. By the way, the coffee I received was so delicious!!! In fact, I’m drinking double my normal morning Java because it’s so yummy!! Cool place! Check it out!!!
Every town needs an independent coffee shop like Coal River Coffee Company. It has all of the charm I want in my coffee shop. I like the aesthetic. Great place to chit chat with a friend or get some work done on the laptop. The options are vast and they have every flavor imaginable. I’ve never had a bad experience in my 5 or so visits. I think this is a good addition to the main drag in St. Albans and I wish some other shops would come in and follow suite. They do good business here and I will help support them in the future when I’m in the area.
Our first time here as we are heading towards home to Rock Hill SC from vacation. A beautiful little spot for some coffee, non coffee, brunch or healthier options. I chose the Turtle Mocha and my husband decided on London Fog. Very nice atmosphere with music playing and if you need a book to read, they have that too.
Great little place in the heart of Saint Albans. Warm inviting atmosphere, with fantastic live music. It is filled with books, which make a great way to relax and enjoy a meal, or coffee. The barista, Allie, was such a delight! She was knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome! We ordered white mocha beverages, frappe and over ice. They were delicious! Definitely will be going back to Coal River Coffee Company!!!
Today was the first time we've tried Coal River Coffee Company. Their store is a nice, cozy, comfortably lit place with a good amount of seating, a book section where you can chose from dozens (if not a couple hundred) books to enjoy while you sit down for your coffee, as well as a few stickers and other souvenir-type things to buy. I tried an iced decaf pumpkin latte, and it was very good, great flavor without being overwhelming with pumpkin, and smooth. Service was very friendly and fast. I'd definitely recommend giving them a try if you're in the area and craving a coffee.
Very welcoming staff and owner. We both got hot chocolate, yum, made with coconut milk. I order the grilled cheese and we got three of the the baked goodies. I cannot complain about one thing. The baked goods were flavorful and moist! Oh, the restroom was clean, I don’t know about you but that’s important to us . Please support tho local shop and spend local! It goes a long way.
National Coffee Day Stopped by a small-town coffee shop to celebrate National Coffee Day! Coal River Coffee Company did not disappoint... I have the in-house roasted ‘Almost Heaven’ blend with three beans from three of the most famous coffee regions. Great & friendly customer service... wish I was going to be in town longer to enjoy this gem.
Really nice space to sit and have coffee. We had errands to run so we got ours to go. We arrived during a morning rush and the co-owner and employee were calm and pleasant. We both ordered the coal minor mocha. This is the reason for four stars. The menu said "espresso shots" but we really couldn't tell there was coffee in there. If were back in town again I'd ask how many shots and add one or two more. They recently opened so they deserve some time to work out the kinks! Post Script - Dear owner, thanks for the response! We are not from the area so we may never be back but I bet your customers will appreciate your policy!!
Five stars when it's the man making my latte. Only been there twice so far but plan to go back. Only giving four stars this time bc I paid for my latte when the girls were working. I told the girl working the register and making drinks that I was in a rush with work and I had to run across street then I'll be back to grab my already paid for latte.... When i got back, she told me it slipped her mind and she still started on another person's drink. Just a little aggravating.
Good coffee but they don’t open till 7-8 that’s just late to me
I arrived in the middle of a festival (believe me I was as surprised as anyone) and it was exceptionally busy. That being said, the service was quick and efficient. The coffee is beyond phenomenal but the sandwich (apple and Gouda panini) was just ok. Definitely going to try them again on a day that isn’t as busy.
Coffee was really good and fresh. Our lattes were hot and delicious. Just the right amount of syrup, so not sickingly sweet like some coffee shops. I had ordered the almond butter toast, which said it came with sliced apple, honey, and cinnamon, but was only given toast with almond butter. I didn't say anything, but it was a little pricey for just toast and almond butter. My kids enjoyed their brownies, though.
No sugar or stir-sticks available. Pretty basic stuff lacking, sadly. But the dairy-and gluten-free food items are very good, and very much appreciated!
Had a Mango fruity Lemonade w/caffeine. It was delicious! Nice spot to sit & chat. Can't give 5 stars since no Coke Zero.
This place has a nice atmosphere, is clean, and has good service. The Coffee isn't consistently great, and sometimes I get a dud. It's worth a visit, and bad coffee can usually be salvaged by some cream and sugar.
What a gem. We're not often in St. Albans but it's so pleasant here we intend to visit more frequently. Gotta amend the rating from 5 to 3 stars. Being closed on Sundays is not bright. Close on a weekday when fewer people wish to linger with a specialty coffee and food. 🙂💜
Love the atmosphere, but 3rd time we've had coffee here, and its just terrible. Just a bunch of pumps of syrup in a cup!
Short redhead was very rude, wouldn’t help me get my order together & rushed me. I go in here mostly every morning & this morning was the worst.
Was going to get a latte, but the steam wands looked disgusting. Ended up just getting a sandwich which was disappointing. We also got a breakfast sandwich, and the bacon was so over cooked, it tastes like charcoal. Coffee was not strong. People were fine, service okay.
