Opiniones de Red House Kitchen Albans
Simply the best croissant on the planet. And an impressive assortment of other baked goods and pastries. It’s incredible. I mean it. I’m not exaggerating.
As someone who eats A LOT of pastries...this is hands down the best bakery in Vermont. Not only that, but they source from local farms as often as possible and employ the kindest people. It's always a good day when it starts at Red House (plus they share space with Catalyst Coffee Bar which has delicious drink options!!!)
We are so grateful to have Red House Sweets in our neighborhood. Their Maple Cheesecake is a particular favorite of ours and chose it as our wedding cake! Make the drive. Try something different. It’s always worth it.
Phenomenal food and quick service. It’s adjacency to the coffee bar makes this the perfect place for a drink and breakfast or just a sweet treat. They also have a great selection of breads and savory goods.
Red House Sweets and Catalyst Coffee Bar are by far the ultimate combo - if you’re looking for some of the BEST pastries you have ever tasted as well as the best coffee anywhere in this whole area of Vermont, look no further!! Both places share the same space with separate counters, and you’re going to want to get things from both. Red House Sweets has an amazing selection of pastries and desserts, and many gluten-free options as well! I absolutely love the orange cardamom croissant - I don’t know what they do to make it, but it’s definitely in the top 5 best single pastries I have ever had in my whole life. I also love their kouign-amann as well!! These are both must-trys if you’re looking for something sweet. Honestly though, everything looks incredible. All the croissants, the focaccia, cakes, tarts, and so on would be so worth trying. I guess I gotta keep coming back to try it all!! Also, I want to give a special nod to the person working behind the counter. She was so upbeat and friendly and made the vibe of the place so much better. This place really is something special and I highly recommend visiting next time you’re in St. Albans!!! EDIT: We finally came back after waiting a whole year to come to Vermont - Red House Sweets was just as good as we remembered! Absolutely phenomenal place - this will be a tradition for us every summer! Maddy (I think that’s her name) was still there and still as awesome as she was last year. You need to come here!!
Finally got to go in this hidden gem of Saint Albans. Friendly and very lively staff. She got all excited when I told her it’s my first time. Lots of choices to choose from. Nice atmosphere. Definitely a must try if you’re in town.
Truly incomparable, not just for Vermont, but really anywhere. We don't live in Vermont, but have a lot of ties there so do end up spending quite a bit of time in Saint Albans every year, and Red House Sweets is a must stop for me every time. I get so excited just thinking about the next time we can stop in. The pastries are impeccably made and gorgeous. I haven't found a croissant I enjoy more than the ones from RHS. My most recent visit introduced me to the Kouign-amann, which might be my new favorite pastry. The bread, the quiche, the danishes, the muffins, the rolls, the desserts -- you will not go wrong with anything here. Their partnership with Catalyst Coffee next door is genius, because the only thing that makes these baked goods better is being able to enjoy them with a coffee.
How in the world does this place only have 100 reviews? My friend lives nearby and knew I had to check this place out when I came to visit. She was totally right. The selection of pastries, pies, cakes, quiches, and other baked goods was amazing! However, she said I HAD to have the breakfast galette since they don't have them every day and sell out pretty quick. The galette was not only delicious but a MONSTER as well. It's filled with potatoes, onions, peppers, and topped with an egg. The crust was nice and crunchy on the outside too. I was absolutely stuffed after having one. I only wish I lived closer so I could try all of their goodies!
This is my favorite bakery OF ALL TIME!! I bakery/coffee shop hop a lot and this one takes the cake. The food is incredible, whether you are eating in or taking out! My go-to is one of the many flavors of quiche, with a maple cinnamon bun! My husband' is obsessed with the maple cheesecake and the chocolate and cashew tart. ALL so good! But I have made so many different mouth-watering choice over my time spent here and it is all absolutely incredible. And then there is the staff!! Maddy is the single kindest and warmest human being in all the land. I have never once been met with anything but a huge smile and a chipper "Hello!" They are excellent at their job and truly go the extra mile, heating up items to eat there and even walking them over to the attached coffee shop (Catalyst Coffee Bar, see my wonderful review about them too!!) for me. When I dine here, I feel so welcome and taken care of. I will keep coming back forever and always! The cozy wingback chairs next to the window have my name on it while I do my classwork, or work on a project for work (see my picture of me creating a flannel board piece for storytime while I eat my fav quiche, haha)!! Now.... breakfast sandwiches? ;)
beautiful place, amazing croissants and super friendly service! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is a great place to get croissants. I've been several times and they are consistently good and the staff are helpful and friendly. They just introduced a chocolate almond croissant, which is welcomed because I don't like choosing between the two. Only thing with the chocolate and chocolate almond that I might change is the chocolate drizzle on top. The drizzle looks attractive but it detracts a bit from the buttery flavor and might make the top slightly less crisp. I haven't tried their other baked goods but they also look good. For reference other places I think do croissants well are Almondine in Brooklyn and Function Coffee Labs in Philadelphia.
Red house sweets never disappoints. Everything I’ve tried so far It’s been super tasty 😋 and good. Staff is friendly and they always greet you with a smile. They kinda share a space with Catalyst Coffee Bar which is great! ☕️
Our eyes were much bigger than our stomachs but I’m glad we ordered a lot because everything was delicious. Yum!

10/10 — A Must-Visit for Any Pastry Lover! From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted by the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked bread, warm yeast, and just the right touch of sweetness in the air — it's pure heaven. The baked goods here are simply out of this world. The macarons literally melt in your mouth, delicate and perfectly balanced in flavor. The croissants — no matter which variety you choose — are flawlessly layered, buttery, and crisp on the outside while staying soft and airy on the inside. They're a true testament to skilled baking. Not only are these pastries visually stunning, but the taste and texture deliver on every promise. It’s clear that every item is crafted with care and precision. And the service? Absolutely top-notch. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They make the whole experience even better — the cherry on top of an already perfect visit. Highly, highly recommend. I’d give it more than 10 out of 10 if I could!
I have tried their quiche a couple of times when I’ve forgotten lunch and can only imagine how well baked their pastries are. The crust is perfectly buttery and flaky while the rest is a custard, textured by veg, full of rich flavors. Their tarts are picturesque. I hope to try an almond croissant soon!
One of the best run business in VT. In my opinion they get everything right- a pleasure to visit. And the chocolate chip cookie croissant is the most impressive culinary achievement of our age.
A place where the only thing that could be more delicious than the product are the persons. This is a truly unique bakery, not just in the northern part of the state but in the state as a whole; other places have their distinct flavor, but few seem to have mastered so many flavors under one roof. They do savory as well as sweet, sugar as well as spice, fruit as well as vegetable, meat as well as cheese. And speaking of unique flavors, the flavor of kindness shared by those behind the counter is as unique as what they make. More than just smiling faces, the people at Red House are funny, personable, and genuinely friendly in a way that's scarce in customer service. If you've been good, treat yourself (perhaps an apple pie croissant?). If you've been bad, indulge a little (it's looking like a fruit tart kind of day!). If you're hungry, you can't make a better choice. Did I mention their lunch options?
Staff are consistently kind, hardworking, and professional! I love spending my days eating their pastries. They have a large variety of sweet and savory options and complete the town of St. Albans. Thankful for the coffee next door as well 🥰

Red House Sweets is exceptional. Some of the best breakfast food we've had in awhile. The quiches were amazing, and the sweeter treats were also to die for! It was honestly hard to choose because everything looked so good and there was such a a variety. Wonderful that it was connected to Catalyst Coffee as well. If you are ever in St. Albans, make sure you get here. You won't regret it!!
Great little spot in St. Albans for any pastry need. The croissants are so good. I've had several and never a bad one. The service is friendly and helpful if you have trouble deciding.

The pastries can be hit or miss, especially in terms of texture, but the maple cheesecake is so exceptional it is worth making a special trip just to try.
