Opiniones de Tacuba Albans
The food here is so fresh and amazingly good! It is eclectic, Mexican food. I had the Octopus & Chorizo tacos and were amazing! The drinks were perfect...I had the house margaritas...not too much alcohol and not too sweet. We had the churros for dessert and was a little disappointed as they were a little too hard. But nonetheless, still a great place for great Mexican food. My favorite in the area so far!
Wow, I really wasn’t expecting this place to be THIS GOOD! great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and the food was great! Big shout out for the La Brujita Mezcal Cherry drink. I loved it som much I had three! The queso fundido (with mushrooms) was a winner on our table. We couldn’t get enough of it… until we ate it all, sadly.
GREAT find! I went to Tacuba for dinner with a friend, we were looking for a great mexican restaurant in Hell’s kitchen. As we walked in we got surprised of how spacious it is!!!! Food was delicious, carnitas course was on point, pollo as well. I will definitely go back and recommend it to people!
Delicious brunch options and friendly service, surrounded by modern mixed with forties Mexican decor. Brunched here with 8 friends on a Sunday, and had a great time catching up without feeling rushed. The menu was varied and had great Mexican twists to American Classics like their lime pancakes 🥞 with hibiscus 🌺 syrup 😋. I had an excellent traditional Chile Relleno (pictured), a must-have aguas de sandia 🍉🥤, and finished with a really yummy cinnamon tamarind tart 🥧! Please go and enjoy yourself!
My overall experience was great. The waiter was attentive and very friendly. I went on Friday in the evening and it was pretty busy. The food was good and the deserts as well. I ordered the crepe dessert which wasn’t my favorite but it’s just personal preference since it is served cold and I initially thought it was suppose to be warm.
Ample outdoor seating, polite staff and best Mexican in HK. We had guacamole, Aquachile, Pulpo y Chorizo & Carne asada tacos which were all flavorful and filling. Needed more chips for the overflowing guac! Meal paired perfectly with a bottle of inexpensive, but quality Campo Viejo Cava Brut and a few Altos tequila cocktails. Definitely will be back!
A great choice for Mexican in Manhattan that leans slightly gourmet but is on point with all the basics. The margaritas are solid and the guacamole and chips definitely started the meal off right. We also had the queso fundido, tostado pulpo, and chorizo and pulpo tacos. Yes we like octopus when well cooked which this was and those tacos were probably my favorite dish of the night. They had several tacos plates (they come in 3) which looked really good so I’ll definitely be coming back!
Every time I’m in NY, I am always looking forward to visiting Tacuba! Their mezcal selection is amazing and their food is so delicious! My favorite dish being their Octopus, it’s simply cooked perfectly and super tender! Service is extremely friendly and efficient, love their atmosphere and even their music selection is pretty awesome. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in NY quality of the food is worth every penny🌮 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely love this place! My friends and I had a great dining experience. The ambiance, music, service and food were all amazing. I don’t think you could go wrong no matter what you order - but their frozen margaritas and tacos are to die for! The staff is friendly and attentive. Will visit again! 🙂
Best mole ever. A little hotter than most, but just enough to deepen the flavors. The octopus was cooked perfectly; it was tender and the seasoning was spot on. The chili relleno was like no other. The fees tomato salsa over three roasted and stuffed pepper - great. Finally, the churro desert was perfect. The small sticks were small enough not too get doughy.
This place is a most in NYC!! As a mexican, I Can definetly recommend this place, tacos were 10 out of 10. Excellent service as well, bar tender, Sofia, made the best margaritas in town!!! For sure I will come back on my next visit
Food was great! We got the ceviche, rice (side), brussels sprouts (side), chicken tacos, guacamole, cheese dip, and various drinks. The hibiscus cocktail was excellent; the picanto picante cocktail was also great; and we tried the pineapple margarita that comes in a pineapple. Really strong and pretty sweet due to the pineapple juice. (We added extra limes.) Fun atmosphere. Would come back.
Came for dinner on a whim around 8 pm Thursday night. Walking in, the place was extremely packed, there was barely space to move. Large space with great decor and high energy. The hostess was very helpful, there were no tables available, she helped us get seats at the bar which took only about 20 minutes. While we waited for the seats, the bar tender was very attentive and handed us menus as soon as we walked over, though we were standing behind a group. Our first drink was a sort of margarita punch bowl served in a pineapple. Great detail and attention put into the presentation of everything that was served. After being seated the bar tender continued to be attentive and very helpful. Extensive list of delicious drinks and food. My boyfriend insisted we try the grasshopper tacos. Though mentally, I do not think I could eat it again it was interesting to try this once. Our entrees were delicious! I ordered the steak (medium) with fried rice. The meat was a bit over done but had loads of flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Most amazing service, atmosphere, and food. Authentic and personal. Menu was small but comprehensive, and everything tasted like it came straight out of the personal kitchen. I recommend the Carnitas and the Carna Asada plates. This is on our must return list and if you are looking for Mexican food in Manhattan and don't visit Tacuba you definitely missed out.
We had a great night out at Tacuba. First and foremost, the service was professional and kind. The waiter helped us pick dishes from the menu and gave us great service. The food was excellent, rich in taste and done smart. Overall, I would recommend this place if your into Mexican food but looking for a bit more up scale experience.
Reserve last minute for three and not dissapointed. There varied Margharitas with mezcal options was great. Our waitress was very sweet and gave excellent advice. We enjoyed the nachos, street corn was superb, veggie tacos excellent, spicy guacamole excellent. The chips were the only negative as were stale. Atmosphere was lively and decor was very nice. Highly recommend
We went to celebrate our cousins mini baby shower. Fernando was amazing. He was so kind and patient. My son has celiacs disease and he was so attentive to his needs. He was truly amazing and helped to make our night an awesome experience. The service and the food was superior. The birria was absolutely delicious. We had a great time and they let us enjoy with games. It was such a joyful and relaxing night. We could not be happier. Thank you again Fernando and everyone at Tacuba!!!
This is great place after work and on weekends. Great atmosphere and drinks and food to match if you enjoy seafood and cerviche, this place for you. The seafood cervical cocktail called Siete Potencias is in my opinion the best seafood cerviche in Manhattan at an amazing price of $18.00. I have spent twice that around town for seafood that did not cost the owners $5.00. Here you will get a goblet loaded with quality seafood. The octopus Toscano is loaded with octopus and a deal a $20.
This place is fantastic. The drinks are really good and well balanced. The atmosphere is so mature and welcoming. Food: I had the Carne Asada and it was sooo flavorful and juicy. Great combination of flavors for sure. A friend ordered the Enchiladas de Pollo en Mole and he had nothing but good things to say about it. Another friend ordered the Carne Asada tacos and he loved those too. Drinks: We order the De La Casa Margarita, the Refrescaritos, and the Frozen Margarita....all great choices. Strong and balanced properly. Service: Fernando is superb. I will come back to a restaurant or bar because of the service and he really enhanced my dining experience. I didn't know what to order and he understood what I was looking for which I appreciated. And he was nice! It may sound weird saying that but I'm NYC, you will run into a very cold and dry waiter and it sucks the life out of a night out. He was the opposite. Big fan of Tacuba. I have seen other reviews about the service not being great but that wasn't my experience. I recommend this place.
Stayed nearby, so stopped in for happy hour and appetizers. The bartender was great, and served up some delicious margaritas. The chicken nachos were also tasty. The vibe was chill with the front windows open for a nice refreshing breeze, and the music was perfect with great Spanish throwbacks playing!
We decided to try Tacuba this weekend after reading reviews online. Overall nice restaurant ambiance and food was good. I took off 1 star for service, cleanliness in bathroom and the response from wait staff. We came here on one of hottest nights in July after making reservations on yelp. They gave us a table of 4 in the corner where there was no AC vent or air flow. Literally we were sweating and using menu cards to fan ourselves. When we asked our server if they can give us a different table (mind you there were a couple empty and no one seated there) his response was right away nothing is open. Then when I pushed more he said he will check with the wait staff and never got back to us. Very disappointed with the attitude and service on this front. We made reservations and expected a decent table after we were shoved in the corner. To add, we had to also ask for water refill. No one came around to top off our glasses. One of the girls in our group went to use the restaurant and it was disgusting with pee all over the floor. She came back shocked. You would expect such a reviewed and rated restaurant to keep basic standards high. Hope management reads this and changes few things. I am definitely not going back as for the money 4 of us spent, we can get better service and cleanliness at many other Mexican restaurants. About the food, everything was good. We got cocktails, guacamole, chips and salsa, shrimp platters, chicken tacos and corn on cobb. No complaints there.
Great food, nice atmosphere. Drinks were great along with dessert. I had the popcorn Flan.. never had that in my life and it tasted amazing. For food I had something with shrimp lol forgot the name but it was kind of like a stew with shrimp and corn grits and potatoes. Will be going back for a 2nd time.
I gotta say that it’s a nice place. Located in Hell’s Kitchen, it serves great Mexican food. Very good servers. We were super hungry but we got seated promptly( thanks to the fact that we reserved it in advance) please reserve before u happen to go on a weekend or on a Friday. We got their famous pina drink which comes inside a pineapple. It’s a tequila based drink- well made. Perf for two ppl to get drunk on it. I got fish tacos which I must say was really good. The guac was on point-very tasteful. Overall had a good time. Tuna ceviche that we had, in my opinion, could have been better.
Tacuba is a safe bet. It's a top choice for my girlfriend and I. She finds the 7 potencias ceviche (shrimp, octopus, oyster and fluke based ceviche) sublime and I can't get enough of the enchiladas de pollo en mole (chicken enchiladas). Our favorite appetizer is now the tostada de pulpo (octopus tostada) it is delicious, savory and refreshing. The starter really sets up your palate for the rest of the meal. When you've have finished up your main course I suggest ordering the churros and the ice cream. They pair very well together. I like dipping the churros in the ice cream, it takes the dessert to the next level. Overall this is a great date night spot. I expect to be returning soon!
Went here with a group of four. The cocktail I picked — La Venenosa — was very good and had a nice hibiscus taste. We split an order of guac and queso fundido and then each followed up with an order of tacos (truly appetizer size, we were left a bit hungry). I got the vegetable ones; my boyfriend was a bit more adventurous and tried the grasshopper! Would probably just go back for drinks and apps.
I’ve held birthday celebrations, holiday parties and been here just for regular dining, or having a drink at the bar. Love the cocktails in this place, the margaritas are absolutely delicious. They have certain plates that are amazing, and certain that don’t stand out or fall flat. The quesadillas de calabaza de flour are tasty, however at times the cheese overpowers the flavor of the flower which is the point of the plate, but they’re still good and unique and their mole enchiladas are very tasty as well (my favorite). Their tacos de pulpo and chorizo (octopus and spicy sausage) are their best tacos on the menu. The staff is very attentive. Bartenders as well. I once lost my phone there and the staff went above and beyond to help me relocate it.
Really great service and food/drinks. We got the Guacamole, nachos and carnitas along with the mango margarita. For dessert flan which was so rich and creamy and beautiful flavor. The drink was nice and strong and had lots of flavor. Food was really good and they gave us a few salsas which ranged from mild to very hot. Would def come back!
Came here for dinner and the food was good. However, order a bit more because the portions are tiny for the price. I enjoyed the tacos and churros - the rice dish I ordered was only so so though. Service was great although it was a bit slow - not the wait staffs fault as they seemed understaffed.
The service was very attentive. The food was very tasty and plated beautifully. We tried the saudero and pulpo and chorizo tacos which were very good but on the small side. We also tried the Japones Ceviche which was really really good. The restaurant itself was very beautiful with lots decorative details. I would reccomend and I will be back. Near Broadway...great dinner spot before show!
My husband and i went there late in the evening and the front was noisy and warm. I asked for us to be seated in an air-conditioned area... and the back which was huge... was pretty, chill, and had good service. I tried some foods i had never heard of but my husband thought i might like. It was all very good. We found this restaurant by accident and decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did and i hope to go back.
I have been here a couple of times and it has always been a wonderful experience. The tacos are delicious, although ones I had tried a sandwich which was good too. The seating is really good for family or date. On a sunny day there are seats outside as well as conditioned tables inside. I prefer the ones near the entrance, cool AC and open doors.
Went for taco Tuesday . Service was exceptional. Veggie Nachos were amazing . We took the fish tacos, shrimp tacos and chicken tacos - they comes in threes and you can’t just get one taco of each . The tacos were good. Not the best I had though. The shrimp was probably my favorite. The churros for dessert was not great and we would have skipped it if we had known .
I may have gotten the wrong thing since I thought my food was pretty meh for the cost. The rest of the people at my table really enjoyed their meals but everyone was still hungry after and didn't want to spend anymore. There's better places to go for this kind of food. Also the presentation of the $9 churros was hilariously bad
We only ordered the suadero tacos which were very good and the skirt steak entry, which was a little tough, and the red snapper with trumpet mushrooms special of the night, which was very good. The staff is attentive and the ambiance is that of a typical NYC restaurant. The bar is fully stocked, so if you want a good selection for drinks or a good margarita I think this is the place to go to.
Food is amazing but the main course bbq beef is a bit small for American size as shown in the picture - the One with carrots and sweet baby corn. Drinks are great and deserts was excellent. One thing I need to mention though is the ‘manager’, I think . He’s the guy stood next to counter and telling staff what to do. He didn’t come across as friendly and welcoming. No welcome or thank you for coming. We were seated near the door on a hot day. The door was wide open so even the air con was on, It was still hot. Should have closed the door. Wasn’t comfortably seated. Love the food but not a great experience.
The restaurant looks really good aesthetically and is a fun place to eat but the let down was really the food, prices and service. The food was quite over priced for small portions. The taste of the food was great though. The service was just a bit lacking but not bad, although our order was mistaken. Really too bad that a Mexican place doesn’t being chips and salsa while you wait considering the price point. Drinks however were prices well and looked interesting. Overall won’t be coming back unless to get drinks but just a few things getting fixed can make this place really good!
With all these great reviews I had higher expectations and left disappointed. The food was fine but for the price it was nothing special. I’ve had better for less expensive. Guacamole was average. Enchiladas were just old. Avocado fries - pass on those. Environment was great and staff were friendly though!
I hate to leave a negative review but this one is necessary. The food quality and portion sizes were not commensurate with the price. The carnitas were extremely dry and the portion was very small (attached is a photo of the $26 carnitas, there is barely enough to fill one small tortilla). The tortilla soup tasted like Campbell's tomato soup, and the quesadilla was a melted mess with no flavor. As a long-time resident of the neighborhood, I am passionate about supporting local restaurants. However, my experience with your restaurant was unfortunately not positive. I hope that the restaurant will consider improving the quality and portion size of their food in the future. However, I am not optimistic that this will occur.
Okay I do understand that Mexican food is spicy but I had fish tacos in better places and at this place it is way too spicy and they don't even mention it on the menu not even the server warns us of how spicy it will be. Anyways to make the story short. Guys there are better Mexican places than tacuba. With a better price and please don't order the white sangria is terrible. Everyone at my party tried it and they all agreed. We did pay the bill we didn't complain the food wasn't all that. Prices ridiculous. We tip very well but for us it's the last time we ever go there. And for the management please check your menu. And try the drinks . Cause that white sangria was terrible.
⭐ 1 star I came to Tacuba with my partner and we ordered food and drinks. We waited about 20 minutes — then only one plate of food came. When I asked the manager, he said we didn’t order food, which makes no sense. He was very rude and unprofessional. How can I order food for just one person when we were two? Terrible experience. Not recommending this place at all.
