Opiniones de Tower Diner Albans
I love this place. Out of all the yummy restaurants in Vermont we ate here twice on a long weekend and we were staying over 1/2 hour away. Bacon waffle is amazing. Chicken Salad is so unique with grapes and walnuts. Turkey open-faced sandwich delicious. No one, I mean NO ONE, does maple cream pie like they do. Always pleasant staff, reasonable prices, and huge portions make it all even better! My only complaint is they don't have it near where I live. If it was I would be there at least once a week!
The maple sausage biscuits and gravy were out of this world! It’s a huge portion so be prepared! They were short staffed and still the staff had a great attitude! I’ll be going back again! Thank you Courtney, for a great experience!
Great diner! They have classic countertop seating as well as traditional tables. They offer a variety of food choices. I had a delicious burger topped with 3 mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce. So good! I will for sure return!
Maple city is our favorite place to go. Our server, Ashley, was very nice and attentive. Food was great as always. Always clean when we go in, even when it's very busy.
Hidden gem in a small town we happened upon just south of Canadian border. Classic diner fair but wow!.... lots of attention put into the quality. Breakfast all day (bonus!) and they serve some of the best home fries I've ever tasted. Amazing selection of homemade pies, too!
Great food, great service and quaint little diner! Best onion rings I've had in a while! Yummy dessert choices! Too full but had to take one home for later. I got the strawberry cheesecake pie slice and it was really good!
This is the second time I am being to this Diner. Fox and Friends actually broadcast from there in March or early April. They pick great diners with great food and friendly staff. The food was abundant, we ordered breakfast and the table was covered with food, delicious food. Highly recommend this place to anyone, I believe they serve breakfast all day long. They have prime rib specials on Fridays and other specials during the week. Stop in if you have a chance it's quaint kitschy and fun
Great food, and speedy service from a terrific staff. Came at peak breakfast time and the wait was reasonable.
Nice diner, friendly servers.
Food was very good. Waitress was awesome, even tried some Moxie with us.
Every dish we had, we loved. It was all prepared and presented well. Meat loaf, club sandwich, blue burger, Ruben, and summer salad all A+. Service was A+. Even the drinks were delicious.
Shook out some cabin fever and went to Maple City Diner for lunch. Today I decided to give the hot turkey sandwich a try and it did not disappoint. My husband got a masterpiece of a blt and luckily shared his onion rings. As always, great meal and great service. This place is a gem.
Nice diner, comfortable. The service was very good, we showed up with a party of 17, and they accomodated us very well. I had the open turkey sandwich that was very good. No complaints from any of the others. I would return anytime.
Located right at the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail trailhead, the Maple City Diner was the perfect place to start and finish our 4 day/150 mile bikepacking adventure. I Fueled up with the Irish Eggs Benedict on the way out, and finished up with a decadent Green Mountain Skillet at the end. The food was very good, and the entire staff was delightful! The deserts looked awesome, but I was too full to try one. Plus, for you cyclists out there, they have a nice big, clean restroom that was perfect for changing in and out of cycling clothes.
Great breakfast stop! Food was fresh and portions were generous. I had the flatlander and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. 😀. Left with bag of baked goods for the road. Highly recommend!
Everything on the breakfast menu is great! And the Maple Cream Pie is AMAZING.. I was so disappointed they didn't have it when I went for breakfast this morning. I always try and take some home with me. I'll get it next time :)
Friendly atmosphere very clean price was rt and great food. Bring your family and friyhere!
I'm from Saint Albans, but moved to Texas. This past week we took a trip back to Saint Albans. My husband and his Mom were with me, and we ate. Extremely friendly staff. My mother in law got an omelette but they gave her the wrong one, in which they swapped it out, and it ended up being free for the mess up (it was honestly not that big of a deal, but thank you!) Awesome coffee, awesome food, and will definitely be back when we head back that way again. I think our waitress was Ashley, she did great, very grateful for the tip, and very sweet!
Delicious biscuits and sausage gravy, hot coffee, and super friendly staff! ☀️
My family and I are here in Vermont on vacation. My wife is from St Albans and she mentioned this place. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. Our server, Ashley, was the nicest server we have had on this trip from Fort Worth, Texas. She did go above and beyond for us so we really appreciate that. The only complaint I have is people staring at us since my family (except my wife) are Hispanic and I guess there are some in St Albans who don't like outsiders coming in even when you are on vacation or they just don't like people of color. That is fine, that's not the diners fault. I will be coming here again next time we take a trip up to Vermont. Thanks to the restaurant for serving us and feeding us.
This is one of the best places I have ever eaten. The portions compared to price were spot on. The waitress was amazing and remembered everything with out writing down our order. Food came out all at the same time and Exactly as we ordered. Full of flavor very fresh. This is one of the few times everyone at our table finished their entire meal. ( does not happen often.) I give this a 10/10 and it will be remembered when passing through again! Beyond impressed. Taylor is awesome!
Little bit of a wait to get in because there was only one waitress that night besides the host. But it was well worth it the food was great the waitress was awesome. The host kept apologizing because of the wait. For 3 of us to eat with desserts and the tip it cost $66 definitely going back
Delicious meal after a hard bike ride. I was impressed. Waitress was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I got chicken breasts with mushroom sauce the chick was cooked perfect and tender and the onion rings were just how I hoped crispy till the end even when they cooled off. Have been craving good onion rings but they are hit or miss. Hope they're this good next time. Thanks!
I love this place….. wish I could go more often. The biscuits & gravy are the best. I also love to see the waitstaff so down to earth. You could tell she loved/enjoyed her job!!! Everyone else in my party really enjoyed their food. As well as the waitstaff & family friendly environment. It’s a great place for families to make great memories. That I hope will last a lifetime.
Food was good. They forgot my mozzarella sticks initially but didn't charge me for them after which was pretty awesome of them. I've always liked their food and service.
The experience was friendly, quick and delicious! Loved the biscuits. Ali was an awesome server! Thanks again!
Best Reuben sandwich ever, girls were very friendly, and cute little diner. We went again a month later and had haddock dinner so so good, and hubby had prime rib and it was cooked to perfection but was the toughest prime rib ever. I’ve never had a tough prime rib before so have no idea why, but she gave him a complimentary dessert.
Good food, good service... Highly recommend
My husband and I had a wonderful time. Our food was excellent and our waitress was amazing. As a diner, it is expected to have a local atmosphere and we feel part of the community every time we visit.
Great service. Fun local atmosphere. Was busy and volume was loud but atmosphere was fun and pleasant through out. Great place for home cooked style meals, a nice slice of pie, or even sit down at the soda fountain and have a soft serve cone or a milkshake.
Our favorite local spot! Favorite food options include: the fried pickles and onion rings, they are SO crispy! The breakfast poutine is amazing, sandwiches are great and they have a lot of creative specials. The bloodies are delicious and they'll spice them up if you ask! Apart from the food, the service here is always fantastic and friendly and I especially appreciate how clean every inch of the space is, it really shows a lot of pride.
Food was awesome cooked to order and tasty. Taylor was my waitress and she was very good and attentive to my needs. What I really like about the Staff is they are friendly and most of them take your order with out writing it down. Have not gotten my order wrong anytime I have ordered!!
Very good food, but slow to get a table as some was already clean and ready...
Excellent food, whether for brunch or lunch. Maple syrup and a hint of sage in your sausage and gravy. 😊
Fantastic little diner with reasonable prices and great service.
Great Diner for the St Albans area, and I recently started going back there to have their amazing Eggs Benedict, and Omlets.
Always have amazing meals here. The maple creme pie is great!
A very friendly welcoming place to eat. Food was good and servers were fast and friendly.
Small wait to be seated. Service and food were great!
Amazing milkshake and service! The hungryman skillet was perfect for this hungry man.
We've been there three times now and, we haven't been disappointed yet. They have wonderful chicken n waffle dishes, which is our favorite and it will fill you up. The staff is cheerful! Which provides a cheerful atmosphere. Great place to get breakfast!
Just a darn good all American dinner. Big menu and fun people. If you go must have the maple cream pie!
We love Maple City Diner! The vintage diner vibe and great food and friendly service have made this a favorite breakfast/lunch spot. Try the mozzarella sticks, country fried steak, turkey club, and onion rings! Next time I’m saving room for a milkshake.
I was very pleased when we walked into the diner. It was bright. It was clean. It was friendly. The food prices were Good and they gave you a lot of food that tasted Great
I live about 35 minutes away from Maple City Diner, but stop for lunch there at least once a month. The food is great, reasonably priced and it has an extensive menu. Breakfast all day, appetizers, sides, sandwiches, wraps and hot dishes like roast beef and mashed potatoes. Desserts are freshly made and also available to buy at their counter. Friendly staff, never had to wait to get a seat. Plenty of free parking.
Very delicious breakfast menu, they also have lunch options. The service was good. It's definitely popular because there was a decent line in front of me. But I was able to take a seat rather quickly. Fresh brewed coffee and a nice subtle background noise of everyone enjoying their time there. It's definitely worth the visit for anyone not from the area it's located in.
Erica, thank you so much for accommodating us on Father’s Day with our party of 7. You are amazing! Didn’t hear the waitress’s name but she and her other co-workers were amazing! The food was outstanding and the Boston Cream Balls were a must have! Went here to spend time with family while in town for graduation! Can’t say enough great things about the food and the service! We’ll be back next time we’re in town!
Maple City has it all. The food is fantastic, and the staff is friendly, attentive, helpful, and so fun to chat with! The dining area and bathrooms are always clean and kept up to the highest sanitary standard, while at the same time being open, cozy, and homey. Beautiful desserts greet you in a display case as you walk through the door, and on chilly days a fire burns in the stove to chase the cold away. Seriously, I'd eat all meals here if I could. Oh, and the Brown Cows and milkshakes are amazing 👏
First time in St. Albans, VT. for the Vermont Maple Festival, and at the opening ceremonies they mentioned several local restaurants were participating in a maple taste contest. We heard them say the Maple City Diner, and went for lunch. Everything was exceptional including the service. We had the Maple City Burger with maple and the Maple Cream pie. We gave both items a perfect score on the festival grade card. Wonderful place. Great big parking lot, and a wheel chair ramp right to the front door.
Absolutely wonderful experience today! This was our first time eating here and we could not have asked for more 💯 The Maple Poutine was amazing, as were the chicken tenders 🤤 The Philly was also just incredible 🤤 Autumn and Courtney gave outstanding customer service and care 🥰 Can’t wait to return for the Prime Rib next Friday!!
By far, my favorite diner ever. The food is amazing, the owner and her wonderful crew are incredibly friendly, helpful, sweet, and generous, and will do everything in their power to make sure you leave full, happy, and satisfied. The restaurant is always spotless, with a comfy and cozy atmosphere. The desserts are to die for. Don't miss out on this gem!
Had a delicious, casual, after-ski dinner with the family. Kids liked their milkshakes and husband and I really enjoyed our boozy milkshakes! Rail Trail fries where delicious, fried pickles were made just right and my husbands mac&cheese with pulled pork was delicious. Ate leftovers for breakfast this morning and it was all just as good. My son told me I should go work at a diner to learn to make pancakes like theirs!
Fresh, scratch menu. Breakfast all day! Try the Vermonter Bowl- crispy diced potatoes, caramelized onions, fresh green apple, bacon chunks topped with two fresh eggs maple- drizzled and a side of toast options. Dinner options are fresh, timely and big servings, with options for those who want something different and those who want to trust their burger will satisfy. Bar service, and still family friendly. Leave room for dessert. So, come hungry. Really.
Service was great, food was fantastic. Even when busy, they kept up very well. Meals were solid and tasteful. American classics with great quality ingredients. Recommend their Maple Poutine (Don't knock it till you try it. Thank me later) The Monster-ella Burger was savory and filling. The Chicken and Waffles done with a solid crisp along with a sweet fluffy waffle. The breakfast poutine was definitely a winner. Im sure the Canadians won't be disappointed when they taste this dish south of the border here. Perfect diner for a small get together. And their counter booth or table options are abundant. Repeated visits for sure.
Service is always good here and the food is always amazing! A good place to take your kids for a delicious meal, or perfect for date night. My favorite hear is the breakfast, everything is simple and delicious. The Homefries are my absolute favorite hear and the best place to get them. Been going here for years and it's still just as delicious.
Maple City Diner, what can I say? My wife and I love you. Why aren't you closer? We stopped in, for the first time, on our way back from Montreal. Nice little diner, very friendly service (Danielle rocks), super casual, simple decor, awesome tunes (50's and 60's) and most importantly crazy good -no, delicious- food. I ordered gravy & biscuits, Martha got the corn beef hash. Best damn white gravy sauce I've ever had. It had just a touch of maple syrup sweetness that made it for me, a good compliment to the maple sausage. The biscuits were tender, soft, lightly buttery, and perfect. Martha's hash was so good I got a side order of it. We both very much enjoyed the gently spicy-sweet homefries. We will be back Maple City Diner and we already know what we will be getting. Happy New Year!
Ok, I'm BEGGING the owner/cook whatever to bring back maple glazed pork chops lol. I came weekly for them. The desserts are plentiful and yummy! Food is always good. Wait staff is constantly changing it seems. But usually friendly.
Great food and great staff. There’s sometimes a longer wait than we would like but that can only be because it’s so popular. We find we spend a little more here than other places so it’s not our go to for breakfast.
After reading the vastly conflicting reviews about this diner, we were hesitant to go there but decided to take a chance. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, hot, and served promptly. We will definitely return and get the maple parsnip soup for sure.
We had a lovely dinner. Loaded poutine with maple syrup was awesome!!! Mash potatoes I personally wasn't a fan of but steak was great and cooked exactly how I asked and like.
The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and quiet. I ordered the milk chocolate pancakes and was a little disappointed that they were just chocolate chip pancakes. That's on me though for not asking about them first. The pancakes were okay, but nothing to write home about. The potatoes were excellent though. I'd give the diner another try if I'm ever up that way again.
The food tasted great but the service was really slow to get the food. For 2 hot dogs with fries, a chicken wrap and 2 pancake orders it took them 35 minutes to get to us and there was another table that was seated after us that got their food before us.
Staff was very friendly and we were seated promptly. A bit of a wait to get our food, but not too long. Plates were well served and food was good.
Just what you would expect for a diner, although I was disappointed that the poutine is made with shredded cheese instead of cheese curds.
A very homey atmosphere. Great large menu. Always serves fresh maple syrup! A wide variety of pancakes and eggs Benedict. The corn beef hash is hearty and not salty. Would definitely go back
Food was good, many different things on the menu, service was excellent and if you can't eat dessert there you can buy one and take it home. I would recommend this place, prices are good and there were no complaints from anyone that was in my party, some of us got breakfast and some of us got dinner, everything was excellent.
The food was pretty average and the tap water tasted like pond scum. Overall, it is a basic diner with nothing special about it outside of the drink options.
Had fish and chips. Portion was huge but the fish was cooked too hot as the middle was mushy. Fries could have used a lower temp and fried longer as some were still al dente. Overall it was a quiet atmosphere and quick service.
Great place to eat, I was very impressed. The food was so good and the choices were amazing. They seem to serve breakfast all day but I had a Maple City burger with delicious fries. Our server was so sweet but I forgot her name. They tease you with these amazing desserts as you walk in. I was way too full to even attempt to have dessert. I did take half of my burger and fries home and it was still good for dinner (oh and the bun, yum yum) Obviously, I didn't try all the listed suggestions down below but I bet they are amazing, too. I went with my mother in law that day because her daughter had brought her there earlier in the year, so she wanted me to try it. I highly suggest Maple City Diner, thank you.
It was just ok. We had a good waitress though.
We walked in on a Sunday for lunch needing a table for 9, they dont do reservations so I was concerned it would be a little bit of a wait but they pushed two tables together and had us seated within a few minutes. The food was good, the atmosphere was a little loud at times but that was just because someone was celebrating a birthday. Overall I was satisfied with the experience
Come for the pancakes & leave with left overs because they are massive. Their prices are good especially for the area. Staff were friendly. Service was fast. Everyone in our group ended up getting blueberry & chocolate chip pancakes. The pancakes were definitely the size of the plate and absolutely loaded with toppings. My only knock was with being so close to amazing maple syrup the syrup was just ok compared to the top quality that is around the area. Overall if you want a delicious stack of pancakes this is your place.
Diners: friendly, home cooking, fast, cozy, pies....pies! Maple City has all the fixin's of a hometown diner. All-day breakfasts, open faced sandwiches, burgers and full plate dinners are highlights of the menu. The entry is adorned with all sorts of fresh baked goodies. The wait for a table usually is fast or none at all. It has an expansive dining area and a small but comfortable diner bar service. I only have one big problem with Maple City, the food is just not that great. It's got great portions and quickly served but the food is just not that satisfying in taste. On occasion the club sandwich is good and I'll sometimes get a satisfactory omelet but generally the food just doesn't hit the mark. They have a take out service but it is paltry compared to the food I get at their tables. I can't recommend it highly but if you go you will get great service and quick food...and you might like what you get. But from my experience, I can't guarantee you'll love the food. Maybe stick to their pies? Maple cream is my favorite.
If you order the home fries with breakfast, make sure to let the server know to tell the cook to go easy on the salt on the potatoes. Mine were over salted. Server never asked me if my food was all right. Served food and only came back once to refill my coffee cup.
Husband and I have gone a few times and the staff is excellent. Corona procedures are in place and enforced. The food, however, is never quite right. Asked for eggs over medium and got eggs with under cooked whites. The eggs benedict were over poached and the hollandaise was made with mayonnaise and mustard! Their skillets are quite good though.
First time I ever ate here the eggs benny was great, this last time the service was very slow and not very friendly. The eggs benny was over seasoned and very salty. Hoping if I return they can be more consistent with their items on their menu and improve some of the waitstaff customer service skills.
I understand being short staffed and busy I truly do. But may I offer the suggestion that someone at least acknowledge the people standing in line at the door. We waited a solid 10 minutes and no one even looked our direction. Doesn’t make you want to come back, nor did we continue to wait which we may have done if someone had just said “sorry but will be with you in a minute”.
Made reservations for the prime rib meal. I asked for med rate and it was well done. But I couldn't say anything because it was the last prime rib !!! BUT... it did taste good. The sweet potatoe fries were delicious!!! The maple cream pie was delicious. We loved our waitress too.
Usually enjoy going here for breakfast but lately you don’t get greeted by staff, wait minutes to be told there is a wait for up to 30 after waiting to get told about wait. Hard to believe when there is empty tables there is a wait. Will miss going there because there are some good waitresses not sure if it changed ownership!
I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, the food was overpriced and mediocre. My country fried steak was a frozen packaged one smothered in sausage gravy, and the over medium eggs were slapped haphazardly on top with both yolks broken when they arrived at the table. Probably won't be back
The restaurant is super cute. Staff is decent. The food tho was a little disappointing. The coffee is weak... The potatoes are SALTY SALTY. The sausage gravy was entirely to sweet for what we are used to. The waffles were ok, definitely didn’t taste like real maple syrup tho more like artificial. But over all a cool place.
It's been a long time since I've ordered food from a diner and decided to give this iconic Saint Albans stop a try. Being extra hungry, I ordered two sandwiches. The first was a classic cheddar cheeseburger. It was excellent. The bun was soft and delicious, and the burger was cooked perfectly. The second sandwich was a Philly cheesesteak. The grinder roll was superb, but overall this cheesesteak was bland, though still enjoyable. The fries the sandwiches came with were simply awful. They reminded me of Burger King fries...absolutely not the in-house freshly cut fries I have enjoyed at other Vermont restaurants. I do recommend this restaurant as their staff and service are great and they have a wide variety of offerings...including rave reviews about their corned beef hash and prime rib...just skip the awful fries.
We didn't wait long for food I had eggs and rye toast , the food was okay just this is my second time in 2 months I have eaten in Vermont, I love rye toast and both places only serve one toast seriously that is disappointing........ so if you like two toast ask cause your only going to get one!
Food was good, the two of us had open faced turkey sandwiches with gravy and mashed potatoes. My wife asked for some cranberry sauce, which was very sweet and from a can. When we got the bill, they charged us almost four dollars for the cranberry. I asked the owner why they did not tell us about the $4 charge and she just said " We cannot give away product".
It was ok. Not much hash on the plate and wasn't crunchy at all. English muffin on the Bennie wasnt crunchy either like it had been sitting. Homefries are awesome seasoned very well and pancakes are amazing. Service was great and waitress was beautiful!
Poached eggs should not be well done, first note to the cook, and when a customer orders bacon it would be pretty neat if the bacon from the bill was in the box. Enjoy the $10 tip, I never regret tipping. Just hope this was a one off. Overall food was lackluster at best.
Way over priced and all that was there with us were disappointed at the food quality and taste. Most of what we ordered was warm as if it sat for awhile before yhey served us. Will not ho again. Sorry.
Waited 20 mins to be seated . Ordered food sat there quite awhile then started noticing other diners who got there long after us getting there food . Tried getting waitresses attention and after sitting there for almost a 1 1/2 hours after we ordered , a different waitress comes over didn’t apologize but tells us they lost our ticket and would take our order again . Promptly left at that point. Usually have breakfast there every few weeks not sure I will go back . That would be 0 stars
