Have ordered from here a few times have never been disappointed. My wife and I decided to go sit down for dinner. Let me say we where not disappointed. We ordered curry goat, palak paneer and lamb vindaloo. They have a 1- 10 spice level so don't be afraid of it being too spicy or not spicy enough. Okay now on to my thought everything was delicious I ordered the vindaloo at a 9 spicy and it definitely delivered. It was spicy and flavorful. The goat was tender and cooked wonderfully. Palak paneer is a dish that I could eat everyday, this one was among some of the best I have had. This will be my new Indian spot. The chef here has a master of spice balance. If you aren't sure give them a shot you won't be disappointed.
Awesome spot. The service was fast, and attentive but not overbearing. My partner and I shared two entres and some naan- we had plenty leftovers (they also gave us a free extra box of rice to take with our food). The food was exceptional. Both our entres were 8 out of 10 spicy which was perfect for a kick without distracting from the flavor. I would go again in a heart beat.
I’m a Dosa Grill regular! My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant and the lunch buffet. You never have to leave here wondering if you will be hungry an hour later. The portion sizes are great and the butter chicken is delicious. It’s a family friendly atmosphere and the staff is very attentive!
We had an incredible dinner here tonight! The goat masala was the absolute highlight—perfectly tender and packed with rich, authentic flavor. We also started with the appetizer platter, which was the perfect way to sample a bit of everything. Great service and a cozy atmosphere—definitely a new favorite for Indian food!
Had an amazing experience here! The garlic naan was the best I’ve had — soft, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The dosa was crispy and delicious, and I absolutely loved the malai mutter curry — rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Indian food! The person who severed us was really nice 👍
Amazing deal with a very delicious revolving buffet. Best in the area. I no longer dine downtown, the buffets there are not doing well. Small space means it tends to be packed during peak hours. Great vegetarian options as well. Been going here since it opened.
Coming back here after years felt like reuniting with an old favorite—and somehow, it’s just as amazing as I remembered, if not better. The food is consistently excellent, full of rich flavor (I highly recommend the chicken tikka masala), but what really sets this place apart is the staff. They are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and especially kind to students, which makes the entire experience feel warm and personal rather than transactional. On top of that, it’s refreshing to find an Indian restaurant that genuinely offers gluten-free and dairy-free options—something surprisingly rare—and does so without sacrificing taste or authenticity. All members of my party were able to enjoy amazing, authentic Indian food thanks to Dosa Grill strongly honoring dietary restrictions such as gluten and dairy-free diets. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place delivers on every level. If you’re on the fence about coming here, don’t be. This is the kind of restaurant that earns repeat visits and enthusiastic recommendations.
I had dinner here last night and the experience was amazing. The food was great, but what really stood out was the service. Our server, Jassy, was outstanding-friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to get service this good nowadays. Thanks to Jassy for making the evening even better! Highly recommend this place.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the warmest smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, checking in just the right amount and anticipating our needs before we even asked. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attentiveness truly elevated the entire dining experience. The food itself was a celebration of authentic Indian flavors. Every dish, from the creamy butter chicken to the aromatic biryanis and fresh, perfectly baked naan, was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Each bite was a delight, and it was clear that great care and passion went into every dish. But what really sets this restaurant apart is the staff — they aren’t just serving food; they’re creating an experience. Their warmth, knowledge of the menu, and dedication to making guests feel special made the evening unforgettable. If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine served with unparalleled hospitality, this place is a must-visit. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and staff who genuinely care—an experience you won’t forget!
Loved this place! Such a great spot for Indian food! The ambience is super cozy and welcoming — perfect for hanging out with friends or enjoying a nice dinner. The food was amazing — full of flavor, perfectly spiced, and served hot and fresh. I especially loved the naan and curries — so good! The staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, great vibes, tasty food, and a really nice atmosphere. Also, Gulab jamuns for dessert are a must.
We tried to get to the Dosa Man in NYC this week but the heatwave kept us away. We stopped in Albany tonight while traveling and had to hit up the Dosa Grill since we missed out earlier in the week I had the Onion Masala Dosa, wife had Spring Masala Dosa, oldest had Chicken Tikka Masla, and youngest had Chicken Curry. We also got a couple of sides of Vegetable Pakora. The Pakora was so good! Everyone really liked their food. My Onion Masala Dosa was wimpy compared to my wife's Spring Masala Dosa. We tried to order vegan but there was a little bit of a language barrier. She thinks her dosa had some cheese in it. The boys food was really good. They both really enjoyed their dinner. The pakora was a huge hit with them and they liked their naan bread a lot too. The restaurant was pretty busy. It smelled amazing when first walking in. The staff was really nice. And they have Bollywood movies playing so that's fun. I'd be back if we weren't from so far away. Thanks Dosa Grill!
What a great experience. I went with my daughter today and chose to skip the buffet and order off the menu instead. The food was amazing, presented beautifully, and fresh! The service was more than stellar. Our waiter was unbelievably kind and chatty. All in all a great experience and we will definitely be back!
We became a fan of this Indian Restaurant in just two days. Being Indian I can't stay away from my chai, and this place (according to me) serves the best masala chai ever. For appetizers we ordered Chaat Papdi (would recommend) and Aloo Tikki (wouldn't recommend ordering alone, maybe pair with Chaat Papdi. Their dosas and chicken curries are extremely delicious. We tried their Butter Masala Dosa and Podi Masala Dosa. Both of them were 5/5. The curries come with a decent portion of complimentary well cooked rice. We tried their Chicken Chettinadu Curry which was supremely tasty, although having ordered medium spicy it was a bit chilly but I would still recommend it. This was paired with Lacha Parantha, which tasted and appeared more like Naan (see photos) but I can make my peace with it. From the Tandoor Clay Oven menu we tried their Chicken Malai Kabab which comes with this complimentary curry that makes it 5/5 again. Can't wait to try other things from the menu.
Great dinner! Went here tonight with my husband and we were not disappointed. We had two mango lassi drinks, the vegetable pakoras, Minar Naan, the Lamb Rogan Josh, and Chicken Korma. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. Curry was very flavorful and you could tell fresh and high quality ingredients were used. We'll definitely go back.
I have tried most of the Indian Buffets in the Capital District and this is my new favorite. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The variety was amazing. As a vegetarian I was pleased by how many dishes I was able to try. The service was friendly, we didn’t feel rushed and our water glasses were filled frequently
Dosa Grill offers a deliciously filling lunch buffet M-F 11:30a-3:00p. with very attentive & friendly staff. Great variety of cold & hot dishes for you to definitely find something of your liking. If not, there will be something you’ll be very interested to try. The spices are absolutely delicious. Some dishes are spicy🌶️. Some are not spicy. Some have heat & some just spice. They also have the naan on the buffet, which is the delicious edition to a meal at any time. Refreshing salad on the buffet for starters and a palate pleasing selection of smoothes as a great finisher to an authentically delicious lunch buffet. 🧋
Dosa Grill on Western Avenue is a great spot! The dosa is delicious, and the desserts are really good and affordable, especially for students. The staff and service are very welcoming, and the place has a nice vibe. I especially love their naan, curries, and desserts. Definitely recommend! 🍽️✨
We ordered cheese dosa, mysor dosa, idli and medu vada. First two 5/5, later two 4/6. Sambas was flavourful 4.5/5. Mango lassi 3.5/5 was tasty but watery. (More like fruity) Service was absolutely phenomenal. One thing I loved about the place: they offered extra sambar, and two chutney after our meal was served. For south Indian dish I am habitual of this unlimited items. And getting that offer here felt really good.
Traditional Indian food, rather than your average Indian restaurant. Personally I found my korma to be too spicy, but then I can only cope with very mild dishes. However, my husband enjoyed his spicier options. Very good sized portions! The Peshwari naan was amazing! The Dosa was a new experience for us, but not one I think my cousin would like to repeat. Ideal place for those who enjoy spicy food & would like to experience traditional Indian dishes.
I ordered the Medu Vada and Masala Dosa — the taste was quite good. The service was average. I felt the portion sizes were on the smaller side given the price point. The restaurant and restroom were clean, which I appreciated, though the tablecloth at our table was noticeably dirty. Ample free parking is available.
