Professional, knowledgeable staff, great selection, and awesome location. As someone formerly in the industry, this place is awesome!
Yeah, cool beers. Big selection and nice prices. Better than the other choices.
Great place with a very good selection of beers and a welcoming and knowledgeable host
very nice staff, I go whenever I can. they also carry a lot of seasonal/rare beers
Amazing beer selection, knowledgeable staff and great service
Great service, great selection. A real gem in the West Village. Pairs well with the Blind Tiger
Always a great selection of beer. They even have beers on tap now!
Friendly, calm, warm and inviting beer bar/craft beer store. Excellent quality with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. A place to have a normally-volumed conversation on a Saturday night!
Strong selection of harder to find stuff. Shane (Shawn?) behind the bar is a super nice and knowledgeable guy. I think I stuffed him on the tip…damn. I’ll be back and take care of that
Fantastic bottle / can selection. Great drafts. Nice atmosphere. You can't go wrong. Best bottle shop in NYC.
Great place with great beers. I always look forward to seeing what is on tap. Always something new to try and bring home. Always a good recommendation as well
You can find unique selections of bottles and cans of beer from all over the world. Their tap sellections change constantly so you will always have a reason to come back!
To drink with friendly cool sommelier level people, craft lover central! Awesome selection and staff and more than fair pricing!
Great beer selection. Manager was knowledgeable and friendly. Hung out for a good while socializing. Great experience
Awesome selection of microbrews. The staff was friendly and assisted in picking some fantastic beer.
So many craft beer options and friendly service. Definitely trying to come back here again and chill
Awesome service. Found a nice BCBS to bring back home. Thanks!
Great beer bar. They have a ton of to go options, and a really intimate location.
Fantastic selection of single bottles. 20ish taps with growler filling available. Not too crowded usually.
Excellent beer selection, super friendly staff, one of the best bottle shops in the city!
Great variety of beers, good atmosphere. Love spending Sunday afternoons here with a glass of sour ale.
Awesome little beer bar with some different, interesting, excellent beers. We participated in a beer tasting. Lots of fun.
Been going here for years, chill beer bar with great selections.
Great selection of drafts, cans, bottles, etc. Friendly service. Some hard-to-find beers.
Wonderful place definitely a hidden gem in the village of N.Y. very large scale selection of wins from around the world. The owner and his wife are amazing people that cares for anyone that comes into there business. Definitely recommend checking this hidden gem out
If you're in NYC and like beer do yourself a favor and swing by Carmine Street Beers. Great, small tap selection and friendly staff. On top of that their packaged beer selection is off the charts for having such a small venue. In particular on my trip there, they had 4 bottles of Coton by The Bruery (their 2010 second anniversary beer). If that doesn't mean anything to you, just know that all my beer friend back in Texas were massively jealous. Just wish I could have brought the other 3 bottles back with me.
I dunno where else you're going to go for a very diverse selection of beers from all over the nation in the West Village, but look no further! The dudes working the bar know their beer, have some fine drafts on tap, and bonus points for being integrated with Untapped!
An underrated beer store and bar in an amazing part of New York. There's an amazing choice of beers to buy and also a good selection of draft beers. Friendly staff, good pricing and cosy seating.
The selection here is sure to impress any craft beer lover, and Shane (the owner's son, who runs the place) is both friendly and knowledgeable. Expect NYC prices, but also expect to make return trips.
Always carries a wide variety of wine and spirits. Delivers around Manhattan and a joy to work with. He'll bring in products you request and knowledgeable and personable.
Great spot in NYC to buy/taste some amazing local, and not soo local, craft beer I can't get in the Southern states. Nice staff and cool vibe all around.
Amazing store if you're looking for great craft beer. Easy to find interesting and unique beers. A bunch of great beers on tap.
Great beer selection, friendly and helpful staff, and a very stylish spot. Shane and Bryan are the best! Def a must see and do when you're visiting NYC 🍻🍺🥂🍷🍻
We stumbled upon this bar. We were looking for a bar that was like a brewery. I had a wheat beer from Colorado. The beer was great. The ambience was great and so was the service.
My favorite beer spot in Manhattan. Friendly staff, nice & comfortable location, and always with a great selection of beers. My husband and I love this place.
A must stop if you like craft beer!!! With 14 taps and thousands of different craft beers & ciders you are sure to find a tasty beverage to suit your taste buds. If I could go back tomorrow, I would. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Excellent selection of draughts and to go cans\bottles from across the world. Can easily spend an afternoon exploring the craft beer scene and be excited for your next visit. Knowledgable staff. Seating for a variety of parties although I can see it filling up. Expect to pay a premium for this high quality beer experience.
As a commuter, there are some beer shops outside the city with great selection. I'm thoroughly impressed with the selection of this shop. They had special releases after their first anniversary and I was able to get some Bourbon County Brand Stout with coffee; a hot commodity to say the least. Prices are slightly more than what I'm used to in NJ, but still affordable for Manhattan. The staff puts a lot of love and care into this store.
Very good beer. I tried the Belgian triple. Excellent
Great selection and great place to have a beer. I really enjoyed hanging out here and talking beer with the staff.
A great low key bar / beer depot where the staff is incredibly friendly and is happy to help you find your selection of beers according to taste. Guaranteed to have something for everyone at multiple price points. Overall a hidden gem with a great time.
Great selection of Craft beer in can to go in NYC, there is also a draft of menu that you can enjoy a glass right there. I would recommend this place to anyone.
One of my favorite beer bars/shops in Manhattan. The tap always has a bunch of great options and the package selection is second to none in the area. Great beertenders too!
A true beer lover’s dream. Their selection is second to none and there is always something interesting or rare available. Me and my fiancée have visited Carmine multiple times a month since we discovered it years ago.
Not only they have a superb choice of beers but the staff is both super friendly AND super knowleadgable. Patrons are also super cool and you WILL be invited to try stuff out even in semi private Bootle Share configuration. A MUST if you like beer.
One of the best beer stores/bars I’ve been to! This place is family run and maintains an incredible in store tap list. 14 exceptional beers on tap and a great atmosphere to go along with it. The selection of cans and bottles to go is superb too. Highly recommend!
If I could give more than five stars I would. Great rotating beer selection. And the staff is definitely what makes the place. Shane is amazing. I take the 45 minute walk here just for the great beers and great staff. Just read the bad reviews of this place. It’s kind of funny. WiFi well yea NYC is horrible with cell phone service and it’s almost expected especially from international tourist to have WiFi. As with most places credit card minimums is an honest gripe that I never experienced here. Amazing knowledgeable staff. They definitely go out of their way to make drinking beer about the experience. They have one of the largest selection of beers I have seen in NYC. As far as price point they have a wide selection from inexpensive to rare with a heavy emphasis on mid range local beers. I try to plan out my week when they get a new delivery. It’s always good beers coming in.
Easily one of my favorite beer stops in the city. The draft list was stacked—thoughtfully curated with a ton of range across styles and a really strong mix of producers. Everything I saw on tap felt intentional, with quality and freshness clearly prioritized. I didn’t take any cans or bottles home this time, but the to-go selection still caught my eye: a deep bench of well-chosen options, including some especially intriguing picks from local breweries and standout East Coast producers. And if you’re a stout fan, don’t miss it—the stout lineup was absolutely dialed in, from rich, roasty classics to more decadent, pastry-leaning pours. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates a well-run program and a genuinely great beer lineup. The owner was super friendly and easy to chat up.
Owner is a cool dude and you can pretty much guarantee there is at least one phenomenal beer on tap at all times. Excellent spot!
Love the vibes, knowledgeable owner. Great beers on tap. I loved it here. Would visit again
Great little place with a superb selection of beer. Owner was friendly and great to chat with. Highlight of my NYC day trip.
Very cool bar! There are so many beer options it’s amazing! The atmosphere is really cool too.
Carmine Street Beer is the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down and actually look at what you are drinking. It is a small, family owned bottle shop and bar that has been holding down Carmine since 2013, and it still feels personal in the best way. You walk in and it is shelves on shelves of smart picks, from local NYC favorites to classic European styles, plus a tight draft lineup that changes often so there is always something new to try. What really seals it is the staff. They are the kind of beer nerds who are happy to meet you where you are, whether you want a familiar lager, something funky, or a let me try something weird moment. You can grab a pour, sip while you browse, and they will genuinely help you land on a bottle or can that fits your mood. The space is cozy with a small bar and a handful of seats, more of a relaxed neighborhood hang than a scene, which makes it easy to pop in solo or with a friend. No food, no fluff, just a seriously curated wall of beer and a vibe that says you are in good hands. If you care about variety beyond the usual hazy IPA parade, this place is a yes every time.
Great craft beer store and bar. The family that owns the place is great. Always great beers on draft, ton of cans and bottles to choose from on the shelves too. Def stop by if you're thirsty.
Posting this in direct response to the last reviewer, George Hernandez. This is a family bar that is beloved in the neighborhood and has some of the best craft beer you’re gonna find. Craft beer that costs a fair amount of money for them to bring in. Giving you a sample of however many beers you want to try because you might have a beer you dislike costs them money for no other reason than you are afraid of drinking beer apparently. I don’t know what you do for a living but start doing ten percent of it for free, lmk how much you enjoy that.
I recently visited a craft beer bar that really stood out for its selection of cans and bottles. Their array of choices caters to all sorts of craft beer aficionados. A personal highlight was the Hop Butcher on tap. The service here deserves mention - not only were the staff friendly, but also knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience. Additionally, the glasses provided for the beer were perfect, enhancing the drinking experience. This bar is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good craft beer.
This hidden gem is a must-visit for any beer enthusiast. They have a wide selection of beers on tap as well as an extensive selection of cans and bottles of you're just looking to buy some to bring home. Their menu is fully integrated with Untappd, which is an added bonus if you use the app. The bartender was knowledgeable and seemed like an overall great guy. I will definitely come again.
This is my favorite bottle shop in the city bar none! It's got a great selection of bottles including some pretty hard to get releases, very knowledgeable staff, and hosts great events every now and then that are super fun to take part in and attracts some really cool people from the industry. We have spent far too much money in far too short a time and we'll continue to do so.
One of the better beer selections near west village. Bit on the pricey side.
Owned by a long-time neighborhood local, it always seems to have something I've been looking for, but haven't been able to find. The prices are competitive, too. Oh, and there's craft beers right next door!
Not the friendliest service but amazing bee selection for on tap and to go.
Great Fun. Friendly bar keepers and tasty beers selection. A hidden gem to take a break and chill on a Saturday afternoon.
Nice beer selection off the beaten path of the Village. They need a little more space in the place but worth a visit.
Layout/atmosphere *Large craft can beer selection; 14 taps; window counter seats; another counter space; few tables in back; benches on sidewalk Food/drink *Maine Beer Co. Little Whaleboat (draft) - OK; hoppy
Great place if you're looking to find a new beer. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, microbrews on tap and cans to go.
Great selection of craft beers from all over. Most things are fairly reasonably priced (for NYC). They also have a few beers on tap for growler fills.
I've watched this place evolve over the years. Good place and friendly staff, tho they keep looking at you as if they are anticipating you to steal something (I found this to happen on multiple occasions). I have been confused on multiple occasions as to who works there and who is a customer.
Good selection of beers but their "mask optional" policy really gives me hesitation to go in there, - especially during this Omicron surge. I also really wish they would carry Juneshine!
There's a great selection and a very nice staff, but they don't have price tags, making it hard to know what you're spending. I've found that Good Beer in the east village has far better prices, but both are equal in terms of selection.
Great local craft beer store for West Village locals. Decent variety (though not many of them are priced, so a nice can of beer can run you 4-15 dollars, so you have to ask). They also have a fun bar vibe, with seats / standing room by the bar, or an area in back with a couple tables.
Nice place, very clean and organized with a very good selection of cans. The tap list leaves a little to be desired - would appreciate more New England or NY beers. The staff was quite friendly, but the positivity stops there. Poor policy of no taste samples, $10 credit card minimum, and very stingy with the pours. 5 and 8 oz. only on most drafts. A lot of other craft beer bars at least do 10 oz pours. I would recommend this place if you’re picking up cans, but I won’t be coming back to the bar anytime soon.
Not my style. Fake nice and no taster policy even if you rack up 150$ check.
Have been here a while ago and it was good, with the barman helpful with suggestions when what I wanted wasn't available. Sadly now the service is jaded, lackluster and disinterested. I won't ever visit again.
The owner will not throw out a pizza box for a customer who buys 2 draft beers and 4 to go and tips 10% on the total of the 6. Good new selection. Could fill in bourbon county collections
I attempted to exchange an unopened bottle of liquor two minutes after receiving it as a gift, and Spirits of Carmine tried to falsely invoke a NY State law saying returns of unopened alcohol are prohibited. In fact, per the State Liquor Authority, nothing in state law precludes a retailer licensed to sell alcohol -- beer, wine or spirits -- from accepting a return of an unopened product. He finally relented (having been shown to be mistaken, or misleading) and then aggressively resorted to saying there were "signs all over the store saying No Returns". Very poor service - and for no good reason! The weird thing is, i was not asking for money back - just an exchange - and would have even been prepared to pay a bit more if a brand I preferred cost extra! Total customer service and goodwill #Fail.
I try to visit as many craft/micro breweries as possible when visiting different cities. This is the first place I've been to that doesn't let you taste the beer before buying. Don't go here, you might have to drink a beer you don't like!
