Always fun to hang out there with friends, nice music and dance floor!
good for dancing but by the entrance only.... too crowded by dj area
Came around 1am on Thu and had a wonderful time with friends. The bouncers, door staff, and bartenders were all super friendly and attentive, it felt really good. I just have one comment about the service staff who deliver ice to the tables, they should be more careful. I was hit a couple of times and had my drink spilled all over me, even though I was giving them space to pass. No apology or acknowledgment, which isn’t how customers should be treated, especially when we’re being respectful and understand that everyone’s just doing their job. I also really appreciated the great dancing vibe, something that’s pretty rare to find in Manhattan! Overall, it’s a great-looking place with a fully stocked bar and a very knowledgeable bartender (special shoutout to Sean, I hope I got your name right!). Come with a great attitude, and you’ll be treated the same. Cheers! 🍸
I haven't been here in a while. I'm a blonde and like Marilyn Monroe, so I always enjoy this spot. The music is always good, and it's a cute vibe with no issues, even in my sneakers, but I did see people get denied. So if you are a man, dress appropriately. I have never stayed at the hotel.
Let’s get this out of the way: the signature cocktails are $24 apiece. But they’re really tasty and well made, the decor of the place is great, and the bartenders are experienced and friendly and stylish. If you’re staying at 11 Howard, you’d be remiss to not have at least one drink here.
The Blond is one of New York's prestigious venues located in Lower Manhattan. Nestled inside the 11 Howard Hotel, it is reminiscent of Los Angeles Sky Bar. The entrance is subtle but lavish with a healthy set of stairs which leads into a dimly lit bar. We were here in celebration of LaRopa's expansion. Music is a blend of the past, the present and perhaps the future. The staff was courteous and professional, especially the bartender, promoters and bouncers. Remember, the crowd is young and elegant. Do not waste your time if you do not belong to the culture of clandestine clubs and on a list. Bottle service is probably your best course of action. All in all, this is definitely a mood. And, after a crowded night at this spot, you'll feel like the pandemic never happened.
This place is great if you can get in… ridiculous that you want to go inside a bar that has a mandatory spend of $400
Ok music, good drinks and perfect service. I wouldn't necessarily come back but the experience was good. I asked for Hendricks tonic and the bartender said they didn't have Hendricks. I pointed out the bottle behind him and he acknowledged. I found it a bit weird but other than that ok experience.
Too much overrated. It's expensive and not good.
This bar is nice aesthetically but it is OVERPRICED‼️- and NOT worth the admission for the drinks they serve. They sell $30 AVERAGE cocktails.
The hispanic woman who cleans the bathroom physically touched/pushed me three separate times and was horribly rude. She was judging everyone while scrolling through her instagram. There was toilet paper on the floor and she was more concerned about her social media and judging the young women around her. This club used to be fun, exclusive and respectful. Such a shame who they have as the bouncer and in charg of the bathroom. As guests that spend time and money.. Notttt a good look. asked for her name and she scoffed at me and told me to leave. Yikes embarrassing.
Ew? Everyone here was like 18 years old with a weird promoter. The bouncer was also cussing out a non-belligerent 18 year old child. Weird look for you guys
Went for a corporate event so had no issues with lines and getting I think the main problem was that the sound was not very well balanced and the place was way too dark and saw bunch of people just tripping over things while trying to get past each other in the tight gaps. Was def not an atmosphere I’d want to hang out in long
If I could write 0 stars I would. Stood outside in the cold for an hour and had a table upstairs just for the two bouncers to be absolute asswipes saying that they couldn’t let me in and it was just me and a friend trying to check it out for an hour just to see what the vibe is. Don’t waste your time. They ask you to pay $500 for a bar tap for two people and for a party of 6 next to me, charged them $3k. Absolute waste.
Charged me $5 extra on a drink for no apparent reason. No option to cancel it. No dancing. No service other than getting my order and then ignoring me.
Don’t recommend. We are a couple and tried to go here and they wouldn’t let us in without agreeing to a $150 min bar tab at 9pm. People were let in ahead of us without the same requirement.
bar was emptier than i have ever seen it (thxgiving weekend) and they still tried to make our guy friends pay a $500 bar minimum
Got a table with my friends who came out of town for a birthday and got kicked out after an hour because one of my friends bumped into a bartender while attempting to sit next to his gf. Ruined the night with no explanation. Wish I brought my friends somewhere else.
A promoter reached out to us, checked our instagram profiles (5 Asian girls, not abg vibes). The promoter took some time to come meet us outside but it was weird because he said he was waiting for more people but barely acknowledged us. We were constantly tossed around in line with other groups of girls getting in before us even though we had been in line first. When the bouncer was about to check our ID’s, he checked mine but stopped checking the rest of the group. Then the promoter pulled us OUT of the line, to the corner, and told us that the people at the door don’t like our group and only some of the girls can come in. Like what??? If you knew what we looked like and felt like we didn’t “fit” with the vibe of this place then you could’ve told us before we spent hours getting ready and coming here. Honestly it feels racist here because all the skinny blonde girls got in and we did not see any Asian girls get in lol
It’s about time people realize how shallow and classist this place. If you are a woman, you have to share your Instagram with bartenders/organizers beforehand so they can judge your looks and decide if you’re pretty enough to get in here. A group of friends of mine recently had this experience. I don’t know who they think they are, there are much better options in the city with better ambience and exclusivity. If you’re a woman with self esteem just boycott this place
Total waste of time. The staff are arrogant, the bouncers think they’re celebrities, and the drinks cost way more than they’re worth. Even once you get inside, the bartenders act like serving you is beneath them. No shock this place struggles to keep its rating above 3 stars — the attitude alone drives people away.
The moment I walked in, I could tell the bouncers thought they were auditioning for a reality TV show — completely full of themselves, acting like letting people in was some sort of favor. The entire staff came off arrogant and miserable, which rubbed off on everyone around them. They told us we did not fit the standards look wise. Honestly, it’s shocking this place is even still open. Do yourself a favor and pick literally anywhere else in the area.
i was a guest at the hotel and headed to the blond for a drink at around 8:30pm on a friday. i received perfectly good service. obviously the prices are insane, but you know what you’re signing up for when you go to a hotel bar. i invited a couple of friends to join me. i had no idea that the bar would turn over into nightclub service - nobody mentioned that or told me such. when my friends joined me at 9 and 9:30 respectively, they were treated incredibly rudely by the bouncer (who wasn’t even present when i entered the bar). he refused to allow one of my friends to enter, even though i explained to him that i was a guest of the hotel and had ordered food for my friend, which was waiting for him at the bar. he told me to speak to the manager upstairs and she could approve entry. i went back upstairs, did what she said, she seemed baffled but said that she’d text the doorman. in the meantime she told me to bring my friend up through the elevator. i went back down, did that, and the doorman came busting out on the second floor as we arrived to berate both of us - as if I wasn’t doing explicitly what the manager had told me to do. i don’t know what miscommunication occurred with the staff but i’ve never been treated worse or more disrespectfully. Obviously we left and went to the chelsea, a way nicer hotel with a MUCH better bar and far superior service. For what it’s worth, when I came back to the hotel to sleep after a great night at the chelsea’s lobby bar, the Blond was a total nightmare: played-out music, super young, sloppy, basic crowd spilling out on the sidewalk, nobody visibly having any fun at all, just yelling and seeming aggravated. The doorman did us a favor by forcing us to go someplace with a better vibe. tldr: Le CouCou is a nice place to get dinner, 11 Howard is a nice place to sleep, the Blond is a complete hellhole unless you love being treated like garbage and overpaying for drinks while listening to the okayest hits of like 2015.
TLDR: Go literally anywhere else - the staff at this place are extremely rude and drinks are on the pricier side. I will start off by admitting that the space itself is quite nice. If you're able to get in (which apparently is a big "if"), you'll notice it's not too crowded which is probably related to the other reviews mentioning how the bouncers turn people away who aren't conventionally "attractive". This is already terrible, however my issue was that the staff (specifically the bouncers and the bartenders) are on power trips. Towards the end of the night I asked a bartender for two waters that were desperately needed for someone in my group. He proceeded to be extremely rude to me - even when I offered to tip him generously! Hilariously enough, this loser threatened to end my night "the hard way" even though this interaction happened like 30 minutes before closing. It's pretty clear why this place can't even hit 4 stars, and its already low rating will likely continue to decline.
