Delicious and adorable location
The food is good!
I love this place!
Amazing staff, new cute merch, and great drinks. This location is sometimes packed. Consider ordering ahead.
I love this place. My to go to for a quick snack bite. Everything tastes good at this location.
The onigiri is big and is good ! The spam is my fav. The boba, any flavor, always hits.
Didn't think I'd enjoy it but I did. They have an amazing variety of drinks, the staff works swiftly, and I got my order in only 5 mins.
Riceballs are amazing, everything here is great! But my fave is the spam riceballs, with spicy mayo on the side.
This place is so lovely I got a bubble tea which is really good quality it was a small but it was the average size for most of these places and they consider this a small and it was fairly priced I also bought one of the rolls that they have rice rolls delicious they have this type of wrapping around it that looks like it was created by some kind of engineer this place is top notch and they even put a little sticker on the bottom of my cup so check your bottom of your cup guys it's a sticker of an affirmation a really amazing place highly recommend.
This place is different but I like the shrimp tempura and the bubble tea unfortunately there is no place to dine in you must take and go
I love this place Food is great Drinks are awesome Definitely recommend
I love that I can customize what I want here. The teas tasted great. Fast service.
Got great food and wonderful drinks. Super nice people and I would definitely go back there.
Nice spot, my son and I love their fruit teas and shrimp tempura.
I love how the store is decorated and I liked the different food choices
Love the rice balls, super nice staff, convenient location for me.
the staff were so nice and the food is good.
Nice stuff great drinks especially because they’re customizable and yummy sushi balls. The only thing that’s missing our dine in tables. Love this place though.
First time ordering at this location and they DID NOT disappoint! We normally just order rice balls and shumai but added spring rolls and dumplings this time, which we equally liked. The sweet chili sauce went great with the rolls and dumplings too. My food was fresh, ready on time and tasted great!! They even included a cool green insulated bag with my purchase! We will DEFINITELY revisit this location!
Chicken rice ball with spicy mayo is so good
First time having a rice ball 🍙 so good! I hear SPAM is popular so I decided to try it and it was delicious. The gyoza and black milk tea were good too.
The staff is very courteous and patient with their customers. Also, this bubble tea shop sells hot meals! The prices are reasonable. For example, I bought a large HULK (green apple/kiwi) with tapioca balls, 25% sugar for $5! This is a great place for a healthy lunch.
The rice balls are amazing. I always get the Yaya chicken rice ball and the small ones are satisfying. Only get a large if you plan to eat it for lunch. Either way it's so delicious. The plum one was exciting to eat too
Service always amazing no long waiting and the food is awesome
I love this place every time I go there, I always get the large rice ball and they're really good and their Boba with the white tea, mango syrup and mango Boba it's amazing
Quick and fresh eats. I love heading to this spot for the Rice balls and fruit teas. Super convenient, reasonable and of good quality. Customer Service is also great.
Where’s the boba at? We were jonesin for some bubble tea (at least my 11 year old was) and we pass by this shop all the time after baseball practice. They have a great system where you can self-order that is very intuitive even if you’ve never been here before. We decided to get a few bubble teas and try the rice balls (that are interestingly not balls). There isn’t a place to eat there so we brought it home with us. We really enjoyed all of the teas and had ordered one from the “secret menu” with pineapple that was yummy. The riceballs were satisfying and still warm after 10 minutes to get home. They have a loyalty program with stamps and possibly with your mobile number too. Overall we felt that the quality and service were excellent and we will make it a treat when nearby.
Love this place! The riceballs are delicious and well priced and the bubble tea is fresh and refreshing! There are so many options of Onigiri to choose from, vegetarian, pescatarian. They also have endless flavors of tea! Highly recommend stopping in! They have deals sometimes too :) - lovely workers, will be back!
Great location, love the workers they are ever so friendly and accommodating and helpful, the drinks are wonderful tasting, the store is amazing to look at and ever so clean. TODAY was opening and they have the best deal of buy one get one free drinks!!!! I LOVE THEM🥰
The decor matches how cute and cuddly the food is. Full of enough flavor to make you smile from every bite.
Vegan citrus spare rib rice ball. So flavorful. And mango boba.
So i love the value and price of these masubi-like rice wraps with spam… but there was so little spam!! But the rice was warm and it tasted good.

I’m so happy there is a new location for yaya tea in downtown Brooklyn. The staff was friendly and of course the food was amazing. My favorite bubble tea is the period pad and my favorite rice ball was the shrimp tempura 11/10.
By far the best Small Speedy Place I have been to it’s so beautiful and fresh and so easy to order and the rice cakes 😍😍😍😋😋 I wish I could have one of these locations in my basement lol
Amazing if you want some food to take on the go. Good prices for nice quality and a large sortiment. I will definitely go here again if I’m in the area!
Awesome rice balls especially the shrimp tempura one Plus the boba tea is terrific.
Yaya Tea is always a go-to spot! The rice balls with tempura shrimp are delicious crispy, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. Their bubble teas are consistently good too. The customer service is always excellent, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend! 🍙❤️🧋
Tried some of their favorites (first love, black milk tea, first car) along with a few riceballs (spam). While their milk tea selection is small, the flavors are rich and sweet. The non milk teas were light and refreshing. It was good enough to warrant a second visit within a week.

It's nice but theirs no seating space
Very cozy and delicious 😋
Service can be really slow if there are a couple drinks in their queue, but hang in there because they taste great. The employees are very nice too, so be patient please, lol.
Glad all these bubble tea spots are opening up in downtown Brooklyn. I like that you can customize the sweetness level and the food was pretty decent also.
it takes a reallyyyy long time to get your food, but becasue its busy. The food is amazing, expecially the milk teas.
The Onigiri here is delicious and fresh. The bubble tea is decent as well.
I got a large chicken rice ball and there was barely any chicken in it. The ratio of rice to chicken was very unbalanced.
Nice place, great menu, but could be cleaner.
i love the food here but there no where to sit really, either way it’s nice to drop by
Place was lowk nasty but the food was good
*Very cute store with a nice drink menu. I actually like that there aren't a million options, less overwhelming. I also really liked that they had aloe chunks for the drinks.. My tea was delicious, though could have been colder (I ordered normal ice, but there was no ice). *Only real disappointment: the line for order pick-up was very slow. Maybe they need to hire more people to make food and drinks, because I had to wait about 20 minutes for one small drink (waiting outside because it was packed inside with other customers doing the same)
Attended DragonFest and stopped by the Yaya Tea stand. My friends and I got Shrimp Onigiris, Bubble Tea and another drink (can’t remember the name). The drinks were great! The shrimp in the Onigiri was so small — it was truly ALL rice, lol. When I finally got to the shrimp, it tasted decent but it left a bit to be desired.
Never tried the place before a friend suggested it and it was pretty decent I never taste seaweed before but for beginners good I did like the hot sauce I wish I had a picture to show you what I ordered maybe next time they also serve a variety of bubble tea
This is by far one of my favorite Yaya Tea locations in NYC. The order is always fresh and they have no problem adjusting the order by adding less sugar to the bubble tea if requested.
I used to go to YaYa's on the lower east side back in my day and was tickled to see we got one down the street. Rice balls are filling snacks or small lunches. Shrimp tempura and salmon are my go tos. The bubble tea here is good, I usually do a black milk tea with bubbles, half sweet. Also, I have to write a fan girl letter to their graphic artist. I love the onigiri stickers. The scuba diving boba. The Thank Ya bags. Every time I pick something else up, I am tickled with joy. You are a gift. ♥️
I only got the large Yaya chicken rice ball. It was very tasty. The chicken was marinated well and hit had a delicious seaweed salad in it. I want to try the spicy prawn one next time. Price was a tad more than what I would have liked to pay but for a unique food item in the area it’s worth it. The service was friendly and I am looking forward to trying the teas next time as well.
Busy location! Delicious riceballs, bubble tea is a bit watered down. Would recommend for a quick snack in the neighborhood.
Haven't had onigiri at yaya tea for a while so I bought a bunch of different onigiri to try out. The good ones are Japanese and crab & shrimp tempura (not pictured). Chicken is meh. Salmon and tuna are pretty dry; they would be better if you ask them to add mayo probably. Highly recommend getting the good ones for a quick snack!
Really liked the freshness of the rice and all the yummy toppings. I loved the cute decor and friendly staff.

Onigiris are not bad but service so slow
Slowww service Only 1 person working @ around 6pm Waited 20+ minutes for 2 drinks.
Ordered a Black Milk Tea and Taro Milk Tea, both were watery. However, the food was delicious.
Rice balls warm and tasty despite being skimpy with the fillings. Black bubble tea just OK, it's on the bland side compared to competitors.
EDIT: Management reached out immediately to rectify issue 👌🏼 When they get your order right, it’s good. But more times than not, my orders wrong. Not to mention, every time I go in there I’m ignored and have to call for someone to come to the front because I can see my order waiting on the counter for pickup. Paid for a large Japanese rice ball, which should have crab egg kewpie and seaweed salad, and all I got was crab and kewpie mayo. Mind you, I paid extra for extra crab and even that part was wrong. $8 for the tiniest piece of crab and mayo with a ton of rice? No time to go back either because I was on my lunch break, so very frustrating. I don’t normally write bad reviews or even really reviews in general, but because this consistently happens I felt inclined to this time.
Can't say too much about it since I only stopped in for a rice ball, but service was pretty quick. The price felt kind of off since the spam / riceball ratio wasn't the best. Worth going into if a change of pace is needed, and if I'm ever downtown again I might stop to try the bubble tea.
I loved their rice ball but the drink wasn't all. I ordered boyfriend one with 50% sugar didn't like it at all. I didn't taste mango and lychee flavor at all I would say.
I'm so happy to see a new Yaya Tea in Brooklyn! I had a seamless experience ordering a drink for pick up. But sadly, I was disappointed with my Kawaii Smile drink -- it tasted like watered down tea, I could hardly taste any mango, lychee, or passionfruit flavor. I also requested 50% sugar, but it was not even a bit sweet. I really wanted to love it, but it was just not it for me. I will try another drink next time.
Riceball!!! Bubble teaaa. Um I went here 2021 and its 2024 now So i actually don’t remmeber exactly what happened. But i do remember the bubble texture wasnt that great. And the riceball had a lot of rice not too muxh filling the ratio was off. But it is nice to have in this are. Its close to Debutea too so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seems like a work in progress for the staff since they were still in training. I got the kiwi and green apple tea. It wasn’t very good, tasted very watered down and there was a few clumps of the powder mix that didn’t dissolve.
I dont know how many times I’ll give chance to this place for bubble tea. Bobas always either too soft or too hard. Their rice 🍙 is good.
Very very slow service \ kitchen (without any wait for previous costumers). Chicken rice ball - very skimpy on chicken, Taro bubble tea - tastes more like water than Taro (and not well mixed, kept drinking purple chunks).. meh.
Didn’t try their food but the drinks.. I wouldn’t call them boba teas. They taste like sugar water. No tea flavor. It was disappointing seeing how many people stopped by this place.
2/5. Me and my sibling were waiting for our tea for 30 minutes and it was on the counter the whole time. They served at least 5 people who had ordered after us. They were out of tapioca and this was an overall stressful experience. Not worth it for bubble tea.

Worse bubble tea experience by far.
The attitudes are a huge turn off.
I visited Yaya Tea at 3:34 PM on April 25 to purchase a quick bite. I asked about the sandwiches which I later learned are Japanese rice balls The employee who assisted me was gracious and professional, and I want to acknowledge that. However, a second employee shorter, with a Vietnamese appearance gave me repeated, deliberate dirty looks throughout our brief interaction. I remained calm, polite, and asked only a simple menu question. Her demeanor was unprovoked and unprofessional. I understand that management cannot monitor every employee's expressions or control their actions, but you do have the responsibility to provide a welcoming environment for all customers. This is not a threat but a reminder it is 2026, and the reality of running a small business is that one social media post following a negative experience is all it takes to bring everything crashing down. you never know who someone is walking through those doors. The actions your employee displayed can have serious consequences. I am leaving this review as a courtesy and a warning: please train your staff or remove those who make customers feel unwelcome.
Artificially tasteless bubble tea drink from syrup and creamer powder that not worth the price
tasted like soap and was so cold
The new pumpkin bubble tea is disgusting. Emailed customer service twice and they ignored. Terrible service
Ordered spring rolls and only got 3 instead of 5 that was suppose to be according to the menu.
Forget the online order, you still have to wait on line to pay. The most stupid store ever seen. 👎👎👎
very bad bubble tea, i got the taro which tasted watered down. limited topping options and very slow ordering service.
Had a difficult time ordering. Kiosks are laggy and even tries to be sneaky by setting an automatic tip. My order didn’t even end up going through. Biggest waste of my time.
The bubble tea was so watered and diluted. I’m not sure this is being called bubble tea. The bubble was tasteless and tea was not good as well. Not going back again did sure.
