I am shocked I hadn’t visited sooner!!! I came on Valentine’s Day Eve for brunch and it did not disappoint. I love the atmosphere as if I went back in time, there was so much variety in what they offer, and the food was delicious!!! This is definitely my newly found favorite and I can not wait to come back to try everything else.
I always pass this place up nd finally decided to stop in nd wow no regrets!! Everything was so good from the pancakes to the ice water! You can never go wrong w/ the freshly squeezed OJ.. Will definitely be back!!
Excellent food and service. Old school vibe. Incredible fried chicken and waffles. Excellent hash browns, fresh squeezed orange juice, and many more items on the menu. Check out the Elvis room.
Great food, Service and Atmosphere! One of my favorite local spots. I like going around 2pm for lunch! Never too crowded then.
It's literally like taking a step back in time. I don't live near here any more so I have to go out of my way to come here. Same friendly staff that has been working here for years and good, down home, old school food. It's currently up for sale and the owners only wish to sell it if the buyer agrees to keep things as they are and keep the current staff in place. I think that is terrific! If I won the lottery, I would seriously consider buying it. Only thing I would change would be to restore the original front doors.
Yummy menu with a good variety in cozy, vintage setting. Definitely recommend for breakfast - clean, friendly staff, free parking, and they keep your coffee full! Make sure to check out the room to the right of the cashier; TV with a lot of Elvis posters!
Amazing service from the time we came in. It was our first time there and server was extremely helpful in helping us order, we decided to go with her advise and got the Titan breakfast which was plenty of food for two to share. Service was amazing and very fast but quality of food didn’t disappoint. We will definitely be back to try something new or share the Titan again.
Most definitely a hidden gems 💎 in San Marino, live not too far from it and been in the area but never noticed it, now my girls and I have a mom's & pop's style resto to go to every Sunday. Food was delicious, service was great and met and spoke with the owner and her son Gavin, pleasant family owner. Thank you
Very welcoming and has a homey feeling to it. Staff were very nice and could speak English and Spanish fluently which is amazing. Food was delicious as well and would make me want to come back for more. I recommend this restaurant to anyone in San Marino or anywhere else.

My boyfriend and I have driven past this place 100 times but have never been here until now. It is absolutely DELICIOUS! The food is absolutely amazing, it comes fresh and hot out of the kitchen. The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. We came around 7:45 pm yet they welcomed us with open arms. The staff is very generous and helpful and the atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy. We are definitely coming again!

Best breakfast EVER!!! SO HAPPY IS OPEN FOR DINNER!! RELAX.. NOT TOO BUSY LIKE ALL OTHER RESTUARANTS.. GET TO ENJOY A COZY PLACE
The old times vibes here are great. Used to come here all the time when I was little. Got their Monte cristo for like $18. Smaller than expected. Came with fries which were unsalted which makes sense since most of the customers seem to be on the older end. The Monte cristo did have a lot of meat but the French toast part could’ve been sweeter. Workers were pretty chill and nice. Still pretty pricey for what you get tho.
Went for brunch, very nice and extensive menu. They even have an old fashion lunch counter. Very efficient wait staff. I had the salsa omelet with a funky potato style hash with peppers and onions, very good. My wife ordered the pancakes and she liked them. '
I can't believe I grew up in the San Gabriel area and had never been here before. This is a great breakfast spot and I will definitely be back. The food was delicious. 😋
Colonial Kitchen Restaurant is a diner that serves good breakfast located in the middle of San Marino district. It's indoor atmosphere is very welcoming, like you're at home. As you enter the restaurant, its foyer is decorated with glass cabinets housing figurines and Elvis Presley commemorative plates; like stepping into an eccentric's personal memorabilia collection. I came here for breakfast on an early Sunday morning and ordered their pancake combo (3 stacks pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 sausage links) and coffee. I am selective in taste when it comes to pancakes. CK's buttermilk pancakes are soft, fluffy and light in texture. Similarly, their coffee, sausage and eggs taste good. Indoor seating is well organized, neat, clean and well lit. Moreover, the counter bar leather green seats are very comfortable and evenly spacious. Service was moderately fast. Staff were very attentive, friendly, nice and professional. Prices are relatively $$ affordable. Parking space is of midsize. Overall, I had a good experience and highly recommend Colonial Kitchen for breakfast.
This place is like revisiting my childhood, when my Mom took us kids out to eat. The dining area is a throwback to the 70’s — and I could swear I’ve seen this place in a movie (just can’t recall which one). The available entrees include classic American, some Asian, & some Hispanic dishes. The prices are not too high — but I suggest trying the specials (if your watching your dollars). Hope you like this place as much as I did. I wanted to give more stars, but the waitress was not very friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day — but try smiling and conversing with your patrons. You might’ve gotten a bigger tip.
Like stepping into the 50's. I thought the food fine, but that's the goal here. Comfort food with spices toned down. A slowed down change of pace for a weekend breakfast

Service was slow when I went today, but it usually isn't, so I think they were understaffed. Food was okay, I'd give it an average score. Parking lot is pretty small.
As it's a long established restaurant, I really wanted to like it. It was ok. The wait people must have been on break when we arrived at 11 am because we had to wait to be approached for our order. Then the wait person did not engage with us! She was too busy entering our order into the handheld machine she had! Not once did she look at us, at our faces! Extra bizarre as she was far older than being in her 20s or 30s. 🤔 Then my order was incorrect as I asked for the Benedict eggs to be over easy/soft yolks & they were hard cooked. . Not a place to which I plan to return.

Updated review i know there are new owners our initial review from 4 years ago... love this place support places like this breakfast are decently portioned kids love the waffles and french toast..! Update 4 years later... Present 2025 The waitress could not stress enough about prices we were seated in the "elvis room" on this day a party of 11 she was just saying kids menu are these prices not those... I guess she figured we would dine and dash or that we could not afford our meals?... portions are way..... Way way to small now over priced and i get it honestly everything is goin up these days but for 4 slices of regular bread aka french toast 12$??? Mmmm no thanks you guys lost a long time customer and normally i avoid posting how much we spend at a place i just wanted to let owners know this is a actual client actual review and we will not return unless you guys change your approach towards clients sorry

We hope our experience will not happen to other customers. We have dined here many times for breakfast, especially after Mass, and have always had excellent service from the Hispanic staff. This visit was our first time coming for dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing rendered by the Asian lady who seems to be Chinese.. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only two tables occupied, including ours. Despite this, service was inattentive and unengaged. There was no welcoming approach, which was a stark contrast to our past experiences and to the level of service we have consistently received from the breakfast staff, who are always outstanding. Our server took our order on a tablet but still had to return later to clarify how I wanted my steak prepared. When the steak was served, no steak knife or sauce was offered, and I had to ask for a knife after the server left the table. I ordered my steak medium-well, but it was closer to well-done. What was most disappointing was the inconsistency in service. The other occupied table received noticeably warmer, more attentive service, including smiles and conversation, while our table felt largely ignored. I do not expect personal interaction, but I do expect professional and equitable service. Given how much we have enjoyed breakfast here over the years, this dinner experience was surprising and unfortunate. We hope this feedback helps improve consistency in service across all shifts.
