Cracker Barrel is pretty consistent across the country, but this location is one of the best. Great food and service along with plenty of parking and amazing gift shop selections. Highly recommend to enjoy a meal here when traveling through Amarillo!!
5/23 Cracker Barrel of Amarillo, TX. Passing by on a road trip we decided to stop and give it a try. We were greeted by Israel our server who turned out to exceed our expectations. He really knew what to ask and when to ask, treated us respectfully and made sure every item we ordered was the way we wanted it. Food was comfort breakfast and tasty. The store was well stocked and the lady checking us out showed us some different items for purchase. We did leave with more than we came in with. Overall good experience all around.
Perfect meal, as always, then we did some shopping at the store. Perfect place for date night!
Food was delicious, per usual. Our server, Nemo, was a gem...very sweet; very gracious.
If you're traveling on I-40 through Amarillo and need a meal break for breakfast, lunch or dinner, then look for the tall sign of the Cracker Barrel Old Countty Store and exit easily with ample free parking. You will find an excellent menu offering exceptional food options that will be served quickly with wait staff professionals that are the hallmark for superior customer service. A manager, Dianna, runs a highly efficient dining room that can process high customer volumes with precision and courtesy. Our server was Yolanda, who represents the gold standard of hospitality, professionalism, and detailed personality plus. When on the road, it helps enormously to find a decent, cost-effective restaurant that will make your journey much easier. I would suggest this Cracker Barrel Store for down-home cooking and Texas Hospitality. Texas is bigger, and better, so ya' all come. Thank You.
I felt welcomed, staff out standing. Breakfast very tasty, will return for dinner.
The food is always amazing and we enjoy the gift and clothing section while we wait for our table to be prepared. It’s always special to visit our local Cracker Barrel. Thanks for keeping the menu creative and healthy.
you can never go wrong at cracker barrel the I-40 location in amarillo is top notch the service is amazing and the food is excellent as I've come to expect from CB.
Our waiter Brian is awesome and we never had to ask him for anything. His smile and genuine kindness is hard to find these days. We loved our food, and the biscuits were hot and fresh.
Always a great experience. Great food, great employees, love to shop after we eat!
Really good Cracker Barrel. We basically stopped going to CB between the decline in quality (food, service, cleaniness) and their decision to spit in the face of Christians, think we've been once in the past year and a half. Not sure if other locations are any better but we had a really nice dinner at this one, food was great and service was excellent.
Brian was amazing! He took wonderful care of us and the food was so good! Great family dinner!
Dolly and I did I usual stop here to eat pancakes and fried check breast. Nothing new except a few cowboy hats and shinny silver belt buckles. It’s Sunday afternoon and the wait was about 20 minutes. We sat outside to enjoy the weather. Our waiter was very nice and has lots of questions about where we were from. Our first time in Amarillo, TX. We are headed to Virginia on 1-40!
We really enjoy the Cracker Barrel restaurants as a whole. The food is always good and the staff are usually very polite and attentive. The only reason the food got 4 stars was that the waitstaff were not informed that a couple of dishes were not available. That being said, we are traveling and got to our destination a little late so we were late getting to the restaurant. My husband and I both wanted the Pork Cjop dinner, ordered and then were later told they were out of them. So we re-ordered only to have the same thing happen again. We did not hold that against our waiter, he was very apologetic. Kitchen staff needs to warn waitstaff when a dish is running low so this wouldn't happen, at least not to the same guest on the same visit. We still love ya.
It was my Birthday and our waitress was so nice. She recommended a meal I had not had before and it was really good. Grilled chicken tenders with carrots. Then we had the chocolate cake that was so good. We did some shopping in the gift store and purchased several fun things and a treat. Wonderful meal, friendly and helpful staff. I will recommend to my friends that Cracker Barrel is a great place to go.
Awesome, excellent experience. Our waitress was very attentive even though it was pretty busy and we were a group of 14. In our group we had a birthday boy. I asked the waitress about the staff singing happy birthday. A few minutes later the wait staff came to our table and announces to the entire restaurant and invites them to sing along with us. Almost the entire restaurant sang along and cheered at the end. It was the best sing along I've ever experienced. Thank you to the entire staff. And the food was great as well. They have the BEST fried okra.
One of the best cracker barrels I've ever been to. Ive been to several and most were mediocre at best. But Amarillo cracker barrel is worth stopping at.
It's. Not perfect, but you try very hard. Great atmosphere had to wait in line a few minutes for just to take out a order that I scheduled in advance. But that was just people checking out and waitresses getting their tips. I'm not mad about. That overall, great experience. I think once you missed a biscuit. I'm not mad about that either. That's one out of like a 100 times It's easy to have some mistakes. I think you've gotten it mostly right. I I'm not gonna take a couple little things and make it all great experience. Great people friendly. And? I've never been there and my order. Not be ready already when they said it would be cause I ordered a lot off a line. We've gone there a few times in person but mostly off line online.
We visited this Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Amarillo, Texas a few years ago, you enter through a giftshop and can browse various items before going to your table, sometimes there might be a short wait to get seated. the food and the service was amazing here, we were even able to pay on our phone, i liked that.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars This was our third time at this Cracker Barrel — we had dinner last night (fabulous manager and staff) and came back for breakfast this morning, basically rolling out of bed and straight to a table after boon docking behind the restaurant. The staff this morning greeted us with smiles and Our waitress Lisa was amazing!! The coffee and food hit the spot! We’ll definitely be back!
Thanks for the clarification! Here’s a revised version that reflects that: Cracker Barrel’s fried chicken on French toast is a surprisingly great combination. The crispy, well-seasoned chicken pairs really well with the soft, slightly sweet French toast. It’s a nice balance of savory and sweet without going overboard, and the warm syrup brings it all together. If you’re looking for something a little different but still comforting, it’s definitely worth trying. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff add to the experience.
Super friendly staff and they have RV parking behind the restaurant. Just be aware, if your pulling a car or trailer, you may not fit. We were around 65 feet and had to park in a side spot. But if you just in an RV, it's perfect for dinner and overnight rest stop.
I brought my mom to eat and she is in a wheelchair which is hard to navigate alone. BREE was our waitress and when introducing herself to us she immediately found a more comfortable table for us. She just took charge and solved a problem I hadnt even mentioned. Bree is so sweet, caring, and went the extra mile to make sure my mother was taken care of, that is what hospitality is really about. BREE IS A GEM!!!
Did not eat, just stopped by for a gift. I love going there for gifts; nobody else has the selection of items that they do. I always come away with a unique gift everyone loves! The store was very clean and organized well. Staff was very helpful, friendly, polite and cheerful especially how early it was.
Crackle Barrel is the best place to eat beakfast, brunch, or lunch. They have gift shop inside as well. The price is really cheap. All the food was great, specially their pancakes. I'm from San Diego but evertime I saw that there was a Crackle Barrel in the place I visited. I always eat here.
Our waitress was MIA much longer than normal cb time after we were seated. Another waitress noticed and this amazing woman, Lisa, came over and took our order. She was literally the nicest person ever and even gave me a hug! I guess she gave our order to our actual waitress, Robin. Lisa even came over after to make sure everything was good. Lisa, you made my whole day! Thank you for being personally invested in the guest experience in your store. You had 4 stars on your apron but you deserve 10!!! Great job! Also, the food was amazing, but that happens every time at cracker barrel!
Food was really good here. Service was great also.
I really do like coming to the cracker barrel . The service is always good even if they are busy they do get to you in a respectful time. I haven't had a chance to eat here in a long time. The new shrip dish is amazing. Comes with rice and one other side. They shrip are nice size. It's got some spice to it but not to much. It's perfect 👌
My absolute favorite place to eat. Ive been eating the same thing my whole life. Yall got to try the hashbrown casserole and biscuits and gravy absolutely 💯 totally amazing. Best Breakfast in the world.
Super cute home style restaurant that taste like both momma and grandma are freshly making the meals in the back. Good atmosphere with a lot to look at, kid friendly, wheelchair friendly and service was friendly and helpful
#DTNLivingLife are at another Cracker Barrel. Dawn had her Hamburger Steak with Mashed Potatoes/white gravy, and fried Apples (Love those Apples). I had Greens again and this place drained better than the last 100+ Cracker Barrel's we have eaten at. I took a second picture to show no juice in the bottom of the bowl. Great going cooks. Our Waitress Trish was on top of everything prior to asking, for her to be new (she didn't have a named apron on), she listened, and planned for our entire meal plus delivered our to go desert with our check, that was ordered when we ordered our food. Management get her an apron, she is ready to build her stars. Being RV Transporters (youtube #DTNTransporter ) Cracker Barrels are a great place to stop for all your meals.
My husband and I have gone to many Cracker Barrel restaurants, but this one is by far the very best! On two different cross-country road trips that were almost exactly ten years apart, this Cracker Barrel didn't disappoint. I don't remember the great server's name from ten years ago, but our most recent server was Crystal. She was everything you want a server to be, but she went above and beyond. The food was amazing, too! I had the trout and my husband had the country fried turkey, and we cleaned our plates. Delicious!
We had a group of ten people and the service was excellent. All orders were served hot and with a smile. Competitive prices.
This location is consistent in providing good food and good service. We pretty much always eat breakfast food here, regardless of the time. My family thinks they have the best pancakes and French toast. I usually get something like steak and eggs or the chicken fried chicken. It's good portions and plenty of sides like fried apples, grits, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, etc.
This is my absolute favorite spot for breakfast! Cracker Barrel has its own unique charm—cozy atmosphere and tasty home-style food. Service is always quick, and everyone’s really nice. Also love browsing the little store at the entrance; it’s full of cool stuff and fun gifts. Makes the whole visit even better. Easy five stars!
Convenient location right on I-40! Ate supper here on Aug 3, 2024. Was quiet for a Saturday night and we were seated immediately with no wait. Waitress was very friendly and took our order correctly. Food was delicious and delivered within 15 minutes. Bathrooms were clean. Store was well stocked and several items were 40-60% off. Everything great you would expect from Cracker Barrel.
This was my first time stopping in to a Cracker Barrel it was very busy, and customers were all enjoying their experience and having a lot of fun. I loved the old-fashioned store and we had excellent service in both the store and the restaurant. This was a fun place to be families, and kids were sitting outside enjoying the rocking chairs. We loved our meal and had classic and authentic southern fried chicken with honey and fried okra, cornbread biscuits, and classic fried pork chops with gravy. The sweet potato with marshmallows was to die for. The food was eaten quickly, served fast even when very busy inside for a Holiday Weekend and very juicy and flavorful. The spot even has a dirt lot to park a semi truck off the road and bus parking in the back

Food was good, but nothing was quite hot enough which is almost always the case at Cracker Barrel. The server was friendly and very attentive. We ordered two pieces of chocolate cake to take home. One piece was good and moist like always, but one piece was very dry and not nearly as good as usual!
90% of my visits are on Wednesday night.80% of those visits are wonderful experiences. On my last visit, I noticed that the lamps were missing and made an inquiry to the manager. The reply was that corporate is making some changes. While I do believe that upgrading is a good thing, please take care of your properties requests for more pressing issues like the kitchen or the parking lot that needs attention.
Good food, great waitress. Very clean! Stopped on our way back from New Mexico. The food "Hit the Spot". Speaking of google, a restaraunt customer informed me I should turn the volume down on my phone. Google Maps Directions kept telling me to make the next left ... while I was in the restaraunt, which magically was exactly the direction of our dinner table!
ordered chicken meal was cooked to well, dark brown and dry, crust fell off away from dried over cooked chicken meat. hash brown casserole was also over heated and delicious but dry. my hubby had fish and fries and loved it, although he had to wait 25 minutes for his meal. The waitress said they were very busy.
Lots of things forgotten that we had to ask for. Seemed like they were distracted. Food has been better in the past. Would be nice if there were glueten free options
Are you familiar with the term "boondocks"? I've heard it's a Filipino word that means "remote mountain" and like so many other words, it's been coopted into the English language. In English, it means "remote" as in "I've been camping out in the boondocks." Following so far? Because the RVers have taken it one further and it's called "Crackerdocking" and it means "spending the night in a Cracker Barrel parking lot." I was still stuffed from dinner and I was on my way before they opened so I did not have a chance to eat here on this visit. Next time, Cracker Barrel. Next time. Inside, the store side was well stocked and tidy. The men's room was clean. And the young lady who rang up my candy purchase (gotta have dessert!) was very nice.
Food was great, service was great. Good old fashioned country food.
Still would like some crispy hashbrown potatoes! Jimmes Egg yesterday and hashbrowns half cooked. Cracker Barrel today and still craving crispy hashbrowns potatoes!
This store is a quiet and cozy place. We had a slight problem with food being cold and not cooked properly. The training coordinator or manager of training did his best to accommodate us. Wish they had actually had the fire place going but they didn’t. Some of the wait staff sure seemed to be scatterbrained the day we visited. Overall it was an ok visit. We prolly will be back but I wouldn’t go Outta my way to visit again. Eggs were ordered over done and turned out runny and was cold. The steak way all chewy and not at all appealing. The French toast was cold, and was all smashed and left slot to be desired. Looked anemic and not appealing. Sausage was cold and gritty
Wait time was about 20 minutes, although is hard to complain about waiting because there is so much to see in the store area. We were surprised that even though our wait time was 20 minutes, once we sat down we got our food in about 5 minutes so fairly fast.
Cracker Barrel is always good and consistent. This place was clean , the service was fast and our server Shyla was great. The portion of meatloaf was generous and the chicken fried turkey breast which is seasonal was excellent . Very close to 5 stars but the carrots and green beans need more seasoning. The 20% off coupon which we brought with us was accepted which we appreciated . I would definitely eat there again
I got fried catfish and my husband got grilled. It was ok, but I should have chosen grilled. The fried catfish and hush puppies were full of grease. The carrots were delicious. The mashed potatoes were also good. This was my first time eating here. It was decent, but I honestly want impressed for all the good things I’ve heard. For that reason I don’t know that I’d stop in again. Maybe I just got the wrong thing.
This is my first time at Cracker Barrel and we placed an order around 12:45 pm and didn’t get our order till 1:30 pm. The silver wear was dirty, and we didn’t even get checked on through out that time waiting. The food was like warm but tasted ok. I got the chicken and dumplings and tbh wasn’t the best was Fairly ok. The lady that served us was pretty nice and there were plenty of staff so I’m not sure why it took so long. It wasn’t too busy so not sure what happened. I did hear from family members that Cracker Barrel is a great place to eat but didn’t quite get that this time. It’s shame as the place looks so cool and I love the theme. You can clearly see they put in a lot of effort into there business.

Good restaurant but needs to hire some help. Took 14 minutes to get cold coffee and 40 minutes to get breakfast. Needs new aggressive management.
Starting with the hostess. As she started to have us seated at the far side of the dining room we asked if there was something closer. There was no response. She just grabbed 2 menus and led us to …
Staff needs to understand that a single woman deserves same service as a large group. Stopped for an early dinner. Waited 15 minutes before someone noticed I had not been waited on. I ordered steak and eggs, probably worst cut of meat I've had in a while and not cooked as requested, this was after waiting another 30 minutes for it to be delivered. I eat at CB across the country and will not stop here again. The young waitress that finally noticed me was very apologetic and saved an occurrence from happening.
We had quit a few hiccups. Food was missing. Things were all on one plate for 2 different people. My country fried steak was cold. The waitress did help correct things but still wasn't quit the best place. Not sure if it was lack of workers or just the restaurant because most Cracker barrels I've been to haven't produced anything like this one.
It's alright but is regularly too busy to really enjoy. Food can be rushed and come out in the wrong order etc and tables are turned over very quickly. This is mostly a gripe because I remember the experience being much more laid back in years passed.
When I saw the restaurant inspection score of 89 I should have left. Maybe it was more psychological, but the tables were not clean, the NY strip steak was ehh. The steak was not sharp. When I paid there wasn't an opportunity to leave a tip on my card. Luckily I had cash. First time I'd been here in about 4 or 5 years, probably won't be back.
My food wasn't cooked like I asked and it didn't really have any flavor. Everything just had the same taste. The bacon was just very "blah" and the French Toast wasn't even fully covered with egg so I was literally eating warm bread with syrup on for a few bites. All that to say, the food was not impressive, not even when compared to other Cracker Barrel Locations. Our server was very sweet and assertive, though.
Dinner was sub par. Chick fried chick, country fried steak and pot roast, all 3 were just ok, but the mashed potatoes very good. Service not good, had to almost beg for cornbread and biscuits. In the past you didn't have to remind waitstaff to bring them. No refills on tea and soda were offered.
Very busy, so service was slower than usual due to all the people. The steak had a lot of tendons. My daughter's fries were lukewarm (must have been sitting waiting for the rest of our food to come out). Biscuits were hot out of the oven and delicious, but the peach cobbler was the cherry on top! The crust was perfectly flaky with sugar sprinkled on top, with the perfect ratio of crust to peaches. 🤤
I eat here once or twice a year. I had a gift card so ordered takeout on Friday night and then used the rest of the card for lunch Sunday. For the to-go order the food was cooked well and the portions were good. For the dine-in experience the portions were also good and the food was good. Flavors here aren't the richest, but everything is cooked well enough to just add pepper and hot sauce. Service was off for the dine-in experience - we had to ask for silverware a second time 5 minutes after getting our food, there were no corn muffins, and no refills. The water tasted unfiltered. It's an OK place to stop in.
The food at Cracker Barrel was good overall, but the service could use some improvement. I asked for my eggs over easy, but they came out over medium. I also had to wait a bit longer than expected …

Okay just a typical Cracker Barrel. Service was OK same with the food. price was reasonable
Blonde lady that was server had an attitude because I asked for extra napkins. We were not given any biscuits or cornbread with our food. Eggs were cold, hashbrown casserole had weird aftertaste. Tables and chairs were dirty with food on them, had to get a chair from another table. Asked for a to go box and the waitress threw the receipt down with an attitude and made a different waiter bring the box to us. She acted like she didn't like us the entire time and that we were bothering her if we asked for anything at all. Worst cracker barrel I've been to in a long time. Update: manager lied and said he would mail me a coupon for a free meal. I guess he just said that to get me off the phone because it's been weeks and I haven't received a thing.
One day last week, I ordered a late lunch around 1:30. I chose the Campfire Beef for pick up. The lovey lady at check out was so sweet. I returned to work, opened the container to my much anticipated lunch and I tore back the foil. What I found was not what my tastes buds were eager for. What lie before me is what I believe to be the scraps, left over from the lunch rush. My beef was overcooked and dry. The portion was sparse. And oh yes, let's not forget the expiration sticker nestled between the 2 pieces of meat. I'll include the stock photo from the website menu along side what I actually received. Sidenote, there was definitely not a discount on my ticket when checking out for unfresh unwell prepared home cooked comfort fare...
I love Cracker Barrel and your loaded sweet potatoes but I stopped Saturday to order 4 to reheat and eat for a few days. All 4 were burnt so much the skin was not even edible. It's usually awesome. The inside was burnt so much 1/3 was not edible. I waited forever to get them and then had to wait another 10+ minutes to get bowls of marshmallows because they didn't have anything on them but the butter even though I just asked for extra of the butter pecan syrup on the side because it is so good. I was over charged this time even though I order extra to take home all the time because I live 3 hours away round trip. I tried to get someone to fix the ticket before paying but 2 people said no they always charge 10.00 for the veggie plate and 1.99 per sweet potato extra. I've never been charged that way and overcharged before. Very upset at the whole experience this time and how badly burnt all 4 were. So disappointing this time
Customer service sucked. Girl who answered phone both times was rude. Manager never came to the phone. Cancelled my DoorDash with no explanation.

Waited 35 minutes for some fresh cold biscuits that felt very doughy then waited another 10 minutes for some cold eggs, apples and hash browns casserole very disappointed will not be back. Server was good. Management sucks.
Not giving stars... usually the food & service are good, however, this last visit had to get the manager to have someone clean the chairs & table again. The chair had syrup on it & table was very sticky! Had to ask 2x, the 2nd time as I walked to manager, he saw me & ducked into the kitchen! Very unprofessional!!! When he came out, he checked other tables around us but not ours!
I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I visited this restaurant hoping for a relaxing meal, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Our server, Tina, seemed distracted and disinterested from the start. We waited a long time just to get water, and she barely checked on us throughout the meal. When we finally got our food, parts of the order were wrong, and it took forever to get them corrected. No apology, no acknowledgment—just a lot of eye-rolling and attitude.
My husband and I stopped here for dinner after a long day of traveling. Disappointment number one was being told the restaurant was out of champagne, so we were unable to order mimosas. Then, my husband asked for a Mello Yello; yet again, we were told the restaurant doesn’t serve that particular beverage even though it is printed on the menu. We started our food order by requesting the loaded tots. To our dismay, they arrived at our table scorched, and there was no way they were edible. When our entrees arrived the disappointments didn’t cease to occur. My baked potato was not fully cooked, had a slim swipe of topping, and was so dry couldn’t swallow it. My husband’s green beans were unseasoned and actually looked like they were pored straight out of a can into his plate. His chicken and dumplings were so bad, I thought he had ordered mashed potatoes. Cracker Bsrrel is usually one of our top choices when we travel, but this particular establishment has definitely made us start to be patrons elsewhere.
We are on our way back home from a big road trip to the West, and we decided to stop by Cracker Barrel for dinner, knowing they always serve good-quality food and that it would be safe for our stomachs during the long drive. We arrived at the restaurant around 9:40 PM on Friday (20DEC24), and with only a few tables occupied, we hoped our food would arrive quickly. Unfortunately, that was a mistaken assumption. We waited for at least 50 minutes from the time we ordered until we received our simple dishes, which were Momma's Breakfast. The quality of the food was far below Cracker Barrel’s usual standard. The bacon was burned, the pancakes were neither fluffy nor thick as usual and seemed like they had run out of batter, and my French toast was soggy. We were extremely disappointed with the food, but we chose not to complain at the time, understanding that it was late, close to the holidays, and they might not have had enough staff. However, I still feel I have the right to express my dissatisfaction. The money I paid for the food was not reflected in the quality we received. I still like Cracker Barrel and will visit other locations, but I will NEVER return to this one again.
New Year’s Day and I am already on my hands and knees. I literally fell and I could not get back up by myself. As my knee started swelling, and the pain grew stronger. I could not believe all the people outside that just sat there and stared at me. However, there was one Angel, YES! only one person out of the dozen came out to help me up. If I wasn’t in so much pain I would’ve given her a huge hug of gratitude. I didn’t even get through the doors for brunch because I slipped and fell hard from this curb in the picture. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, watch out for that curb it’s a slippery one. And to also, give a shout out to that one person that showed up and asked if I was ok and needed help, this world needs more of you. Thank you!
The food there has turned terrible used to be my favorite place to stop while traveling and now it's garbage
I waited 43 minutes for raw chicken. The waitress was overworked and looked exhausted, all of the workers did. The main thing is that i waited 43 minutes from putting in my order to be given raw, frozen chicken. Would not recommend unless you want to waste an hour and get food poisoning.
Walked in at 9am on June 6th 2025. Hostess was very unfriendly and rude. We got sat at 9:02am, never got service and left at 9:20. Did stop one server and ask for water and/or coffee..both preferred, never got our coffee/water. Will not be back to this place. It’s not hard to be friendly, especially when it’s the job. Everyone has a bad day and I understand that, this was however the entire staff.
Terrible! Steak full of grissle, ordered medium rare, came bleu (more rare than rare). Food had no flavor, hash brown casserole was dry and overcooked, and failed to mention they were out of meatloaf, so the peach cobbler was comped because they got our order wrong, but they brought it with our dinner, so it was soggy and slimy by the time we got to it, and no ice cream at all. I don't regret much, but I regret wasting money here.
Service was good but the food was subpar. The pancakes were undercooked as well as the hashbrowns. My wife got a wrapper in her hashbrowns and was told "not to worry it was only pan liner" from the Manager. We love Crackel Barrel but it sad to say we will not be returning to this location again. I strongly recommend others to try a different breakfast place.
Wow....how can a location that is known for speed and iconic menu items change so much from what made them who they are? How can you change your identity and expect to keep your customer base? I came here for the "In a hurry" Meatloaf plate and cornbread muffins. I didn't get EITHER A, it took the server Briona over 12 minutes to come and greet the table. She also spent whole time calling me "Baby." I understand trying to be approachable and trying to connect with your table, but you have to also be professional. She was NOT. B, the meatloaf that is labeled as an "in a hurry" menu choice was going to take until approximately 830pm to get (it was 7:46pm when I asked for it) C, they did away with the cornbread muffins, and "UPGRADED" the menu and the muffins. Now you can't get the muffins you would have expected and gotten for YEARS... Now you have to get a Green Chili Cornbread that is now on the menu as an appetizer for $3.99 Genuinely, I would not mind paying for the muffins, however I can't because they "upgraded." Also, I don't like Green Chilis soooo I won't order it either. The food took 19 minutes to get to the table and the order was incorrect and looked like it was half a portion. It was good overall but the experience was already bad. How can you fail in so many ways. The only redeeming fact was, I was sat immediately, but I know now it's because people stopped coming here because of all the "upgrades."
I ordered bacon & eggs for dinner, the eggs came out cooked different than I ordered, the bacon was soggy and there was a hair in my hashbrowns, when I showed the waitress, she instantly defended thatnit was from when they cracked the egg , it was obviously a hair. I got the check and left immediately. Also the hostess sat me in a closed section when I got there, so they moved me to an open section, that girl was pleasant about it. The waitress seemed like she really didn't want to be there. Cracked Barrel's in general have gine downhill badly in the last couple years , limited menu from what it used to have, and poor service. Too bad, this was probably it for me for good
If you been to one You've been to all of them. Recently, I know better to go to any of them, because it seems like it's always the same. Either the food is off or the service is off here. The food was not that good, and the easiest thing to make sweet tea. Tasted like dishwater, my hash Brown casserole was unedible, and I just get a little bit frustrated when I only get 2-3 biscuits, it is not the server Fault, but Overall, I'm just probably going to stop going to Cracker Barrel entirely. Because it will never be as good as the first time I went there. I'm just gonna have to save that as a very good distant memory.
WORST CB ever!! Avoid this branch!!! Let's start with the hostess; her name is Xyla (or something like that). She was rude, showed no personality, and obviously does not love her job. She spent so much time on her mobile phone that she didn’t even notice the gentleman waiting to be seated. Xyla should find another Job. We arrived at 9:30 AM on June 9th. The restaurant was not busy—there were maybe six tables occupied. We are regulars at the Las Vegas branch, so we know how things typically work. To our surprise, there were no staff members on the floor. We waited a good 15 minutes to see if someone would come to take our drink order, but no one did! They were all inside the kitchen chatting and eating. Finally, after a long wait, a lady named Robin came to ask for our orders. Unfortunately, they messed up our order; the bread I ordered (sourdough) arrived five minutes later, but they brought biscuits instead. The grits also took another five minutes to arrive. To make matters worse, they never refilled our coffee and tea, which is a standard practice at CB. They only refilled it once when we specifically asked for it. Normally, the server would come to the table to check on us, but since the staff was too busy in the kitchen, that didn’t happen. Last week, when we were at CB in Arizona, our server was an older lady as well, but she provided us with excellent service—if not the best we've ever had. Robin, on the other hand, is older and really needs to consider resting at home.

Amarillo's Cracker Barrel: Comfort Food, Sweet Servers, and a Few Quirks
You know Cracker Barrel. That familiar red roof, the rocking chairs out front, the general store beckoning with nostalgia. Here in Amarillo, our local outpost pretty much lives up to that reputation, offering a cozy hug of comfort food with a few delightful surprises and, well, a couple of minor bumps along the way.First off, the consistency is a big draw. Folks often praise this particular Cracker Barrel for being clean and, for the most part, reliably good. If you’re heading in for a classi...
