Best fried rice I have ever had. Employees were very nice and attentive. Will definitely return
First time here and we were not disappointed. The food was great the service was quick and the restaurant was cool. We will definitely be back.
Food is on point. Service was not up to par. I asked for eel sauce and Sriracha. Took a few minutes to get back with it. Fortunately the food was excellent, so not knocking any stars off for the long wait.
My Mom took me here. This is a real treat for Amarillo! The food took almost an hour to arrive, but it was worth the wait. Hot, fresh and good prices. The Pad Thai was fantastic, as was Moms orange chicken. Suggestion: call in your order early if you're on your lunch hour.
The restaurant is clean and updated. The food is tasty! As it was our first time eating there my kids got the basics. Chicken fried rice, miso soup, and egg drop soup. I had the summer rolls, miso soup, and a California roll. It was all great! Update: Still Awesome
This was our first time here. It was amazing! The food was soooo good. The sushi was really fresh, and I LOVED fried rice. I also tried the egg drop soup. Yummy!!!! Our server San was so nice. He was very attentive. He had great recommendations as well. I LOVE this place. We will definitely be back! We will bring friends and family as well! Young Sushi DOES rock! 😊
Had a great time this evening! Food was great! Our server, Chit, was so friendly and happy to make our dining experience even more enjoyable! Thank you Chit! We will request you from now on!
Always enjoy stopping in here to grab a bite to eat when I am in town. The atmosphere is always friendly, with staff that has tried the food to a degree where they can way in on the decisions confidently. And as for the food it is always delicious when I have a chance to stop by. If you're going to get some quick but good quality Chinese in this quaint little town, make it this place.
It’s admittedly been about a decade since I’ve been here (maybe 9 years) but I used to love coming here. For Amarillo, a place in the middle of the country, this was maybe my favorite sushi spot. Owner was always friendly to me. Not sure how it still holds up, but if it’s the same/better, I’d suggest checking it out if you’re in Amarillo and feel like some sushi.
Love this place. They were so friendly to my kiddos as they made the sushi that they had them laughing. Other places may be a little more high end but for the price and service we loved it. Family friendly. Plenty of non-sushi dishes on the menu.
Fantastic food service and atmosphere one of my favorite sushi places
Thus far one of the single greatest Sushi joints in the great state of Texas! Mr. And mrs. Damn in the whole damn family went on this particular trip to eat out, and we fed the whole crew whatever they wanted for less than $100. Our hostess was on point with her menu suggestions and was extremely friendly. Very clean, and in a highly accessible location.
Who knew you could get such great sushi in Amarillo TX? This was recommended by our hotel so we ordered it in out first night, it was so good we went again before we left!!
We loved this place, might be our favorite in Amarillo followed closely by Sakura. The staff were attentive and friendly. We went around 830 on a Friday and it wasn't too busy. We had gyoza for starters which was good. Nice and crispy but not too oily. We ordered four rolls: spicy scallop, it's the bomb, 911 and live volcano. If you like spicy, it's the bomb was delicious. I really enjoyed the spicy scallop roll, it was refreshing after the mini fire in my mouth. 911 was really tasty and the crunch of the tempura calamari was prefect. My boyfriend has the live volcano and he said it was OK. The hot sake was delicious too. We will be back to try more.
Everything i ordered is very good i will definitely keep going back.
My go-to spot for sushi. Lunch specials are affordable, and the variety is great. And service is good too, but understandably slower when they are busy!
Came from Dallas and hands down I've never had better sushi! If the chef does it right, order the"live volcano" and it will dance when it hits your table! My favorite is the"white angel". For those Southerners looking for a hearty bite and a little more traditional, try the "cowboy roll." Makes for a great date night!
A staple in Amarillo. Great location, lots of options. Good sushi and stir fried. I recommend the stir fried garlic chicken. It has so much flavor. Even my kids who hate garlic love it.
My husband and I went to Young Sushi Rocks for our Valentine’s Day. The place was packed when we went in at about 8pm, but the server got to us quickly and checked back with us frequently to ensure we had anything we needed. The food was amazing. I had the Lonely Boat, since my husband isn’t into seafood of any kind, which came with 12 Sashimi and 7 Shushi, as well as the Egg Drop soup which was so good. My husband had the Green Chicken Curry (which made me want to order one when I saw it) Fried Rice and Egg Drop Soup. In my opinion, this is the best place for truly authentic Asian food, and the fact that the service we got on a very busy day was fast, friendly and efficient says more about this place. A+
Best sushi in town! Great price and cozy atmosphere!
The sushi was delicious! The pad thai was even better!! We are always looking for good pad thai and we were not disappointed. We will be back.
The food was AMAZING!! The place was super clean and staff was very friendly. Prices were good too!!
We went to eat here last night. They were busy! I have not been here when they were busy. Those girls swarmed around like bees keeping everyone happy. They worked so hard to get everyone the food that they had ordered. Then they came back by to make sure that all was taken care of at each table. The food was also so good as always!
Love the food and selection here. Employees are great and quick with service. Food is also reasonably priced. Always a pleasure to visit and have a few rolls when the cravings hit. The apple sake is always a great addition with any roll. Times are good except when business is slow near end of night. On a regular basis, they'll close earlier than stated on their hours. One other issue with this place is when they take their yearly extended vacation. Not the vacation or closing it's self that's the issue. It's the times posted for return, will consistently be longer than stated.
Great little sushi spot! Menu items were reasonably priced and delicious. Yellowtail sashimi was cut thick and very fresh. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely recommend and it will be my go to spot when I'm in Amarillo! Also, if you like sweet teas try the Thai tea with milk. It's delicious!!
We went to dinner last night for my daughters birthday she turned 7 and loves sushi. They really made her feel so special on her birthday i really appreciate the staff and chef for making her something special. We most definitely will be back and everything was fresh and very yummy 😋
I had the Cheeto roll. It was delicious!! First time to eat here. I will go back!
Young Sushi Rocks - A Must-Visit Sushi Haven Yesterday, I embarked on a culinary adventure at Young Sushi Rocks, and let me tell you, it was a journey worth taking! My dining companion and I indulged in the boat for two, fresh spring rolls, and fried rolls, and it was nothing short of spectacular. First up, the sushi boat. Picture this: a vibrant array of the freshest sushi, meticulously prepared, and presented like a masterpiece. Each piece was a little bite of heaven, so fresh you could practically hear the ocean waves. It's clear the chefs are not just making sushi; they're crafting edible art. Next, the fresh spring rolls. These were the perfect palate cleansers – light, crisp, and packed with a garden's worth of goodness. The accompanying sauce added just the right kick to make each bite a burst of flavors. Now, let's talk about the fried rolls. Oh, the fried rolls! They transported me straight back to my favorite sushi spot from home. Crunchy on the outside, warm and savory on the inside, they were pure nostalgia wrapped in a golden embrace. In conclusion, if you're in the mood for top-notch sushi with an artistic flair, fresh spring rolls that refresh your taste buds, and fried rolls that bring a smile to your face, Young Sushi Rocks is your go-to spot. I highly recommend it – your taste buds will thank you!
Went with friends for lunch. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I shared the shashimi mori and a couple more shashimi items with one of our group. Everything was pretty fresh and tasty. It's in a cool spot downtown. I'd go back and explore more of the menu. The price is pretty fair for what you get, and beats a lot of other places.
Great food, good service, will definitely be making this our go-to sushi spot. Sashimi was cut thick with shredded beets. The cowboy roll had medium rare steak and my husband about fell in love. Don't forget to try the plum wine! The miso soup and Gyoza were really good and my 7 y/o even kept going on and on about the chicken nuggets LoL
Every time I visit this place everything is just about perfect. One of the most important things for me is the cleanliness of an establishment and this place is always so clean. Every person who has ever helped me at Young Sushi Rocks have always been very attentive and super nice! The food...the food is so good! From the appetizers to the entrees, it’s all been great! I don’t know why it took me so long to visit this place, but I’m glad I did.
The service was good and the establishment was clean. There was a good variety to choose from as well. The sushi was great! I definitely plan to go back, there's a lot I didn't get to try.
From Florida and on our way down, saw this place...looked full so decided to try it out. Ordered NY steak at a great price and yummy. Miso soup was delicious. The sushi was great! The service was a little slow. Overall great place.
I just got some teriyaki chicken and fried rice and it was pretty good. Nothing amazing, it was a bit plain and was hoping for more teriyaki sauce but it did the job and there was a good amount of food.
This is my favorite sushi place in Amarillo. The service is always great and the food is amazing. Sushi prices are average but there are no cheap sashimi options which is somewhat disappointing. Even so, I will continue to come here for my sushi fix.
I would have gave 5 Stars, but I was very disappointed on the calamari Appetizer. No flavor and very little of it for $6.99. Fried Gyoza and Egg roles bomb af. Everything was fresh. The wait time was a lil long but not bad. Will come back again.
I finally had a chance to sit down and eat here. The food is great and I would say 5 stars, however, the customer service is cold and stand offishness. I know culture can be cold, however, I tip on service not the food.
Good and fresh sushi. Staff have always seems sorta urgent to get you cycled out even when there are only a handful of people, so be aware if you're going here to just sit and talk for a while. Parking isn't great, from what I can tell your only option is along the curb.
The food was good, really good in fact, the menu though was ridiculous, overwhelming....WAY too many options... And it looks like an old truck stop diner inside, like they don't want to spend the money to have a modern dining area, but they want to charge modern dining prices... I would probably eat there again, as the food is really good, but I think they need to update....
The sushi was amazing. Best I have had in a long time. We got the “make my day” roll and it was really great. The egg drop soup was warm at best and the Edamame was fairly cold when we got it. Other than that, it was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
This place has a wide variety of sushi and Thai options. I usually have one of the lunch sushi specials, monkey balls (deep fried sushi rolls), miso soup and spicy edamame. All of which is delicious.
Wide selection of delicious and unique sushi rolls with a pleasant staff. During peak hours there usually isn't a wait for a table but there may be a slight wait for your order. Best Ton Katsu sauce in town
This place by far had the largest sushi list I have seen in Amarillo. The sushi was good and I enjoyed the service. However the restaurant had a disturbing smell like they were having sewage problems. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was noticable.
People great. Food good but this trip lack their usual greatness.
The food and service was exceptional. We had the volcano roll. My only complaint is that the atmosphere could really use to be updated.
I love the food but nearly every time we eat here one entree comes out way later than the other.
Sushi was good, but not as good as sushi house. Service was simple, no complaints. Atmosphere could use a bit of an update.
The food was top notch! Best sushi I have had in Amarillo. The atmosphere is very American diner vibes. It was pleasant because it was relaxed. I would say the nicest touch is the photo booth/station next to the door! Makes a fun date night memory opportunity 📷 🤳 Would highly recommend taking a date here for a casual meal.
Overall great place. It does smell strange when you walk in. We sat away from the door and it was better. I'm thinking the bathroom was the cause for the smell. The food was quick and simple. Excellent presentation. Kids food is $5. The miso soup tasted weird. It was very red too. We didn't finish it because it was sour.
This is the best place in town for sushi. It's not the nicest looking both outside and inside and needs major updating. The fried rice is something to be desired. However, the sushi 🍣 is hands down something my wife and I go back for almost on a monthly, if not weekly basis. Service is good and friendly and we've never had an issue waiting for a table. The poke bowl is my absolute favorite and highly recommend!!!
Normal prices for sushi in this city. The sushi was as expected, but the pickled ginger was dry. The green curry was incomplete missing lemongrass, kefir lime leaf, and red peppers. It also contained jalapeños officially making it a Texas style recipe and not authentic Thai. We sat in front of the sushi chefs, who totally ignored us. Part of the custom of sitting at the sushi counter is interaction with the chefs, while they are creating their masterpieces with pride generating tips from the customers. Plus, encouraging loyalty and repeat business.
The atmosphere was okay. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We had the Japanese Hibachi chicken, thai fried rice with chicken, Sushi:Dishwasher, Philadelphia, and California roll, ginger salad, spring rolls, miso soup, beef broth, and egg drop soup. The food was great. We have been back several times since. The staff isn't too attentive so you may be thirsty for a little bit. Overall it's a good place and we will continue to go back.
I used to love this place so much and would go multiple times a month. Now these past recent times I've been I've noticed how poor quality they became. Today I got the sushi I always used to get and I must say it was poorly put together and extremely soggy. Sad to say but this place went downhill. It's also sad because there hasn't even been a change in staff so there's no reason for the quality to go down.
It is okay. It is not even close to the best sushi I've had. I'd choose other places before I would go here again. Although they do have good lunch specials if dining on a budget.
Ordered a take out. Hot & Spicy stir fry - beef and chicken fried rice. In stir fry - I couldn't taste anything other than mushrooms in it. I won't suggest this even if ur a mushroom lover. Toooo much of low quality shrooms in a stir fry. Fried rice - Taste really good. The preparation time was so quicker than i expected.
I definitely could have chosen a million different ways to spend 90 dollars. I did take my family of 5 here. The sushi was so bland. I basically ended up putting soy sauce og everything just to add flavor. We ordered the busboy and dishwasher rolls, chicken fried rice, two salads, miso soup and hot sake. The sake was the only part that had flavor. The staff were very kind. Atmosphere was average. I'm glad I didnt splurge and buy a sushi boat.
I was really disappointed with my food. The rice had coagulated pools of oil, we ordered food for four people and received ONE set of silverware. The soup was good but there was almost none of it in the container which was incredibly disappointing... I won't be ordering again from here.
Not sure what was different. Normally, the sushi has been wonderful. This last visit was a total disappointment. Change of prep guys? Change of ingredients? Dunno. Sushi was bland and gummy. Again, normally it has been great.
The sashimi was not good. The fish tasted old, it was rubbery and shiny, and two of them were "torched" and extremely dry. We brought it up to the server, and they said that was normal. I do not recommend this place. The servers were nice and attentive, which is why it's two stars instead of zero stars. I would not go to this restaurant for food. Three manager blew off our concern and did not try to make it right, we didn't eat the fish and were still charged.
Very disappointing dinner. I have eaten at this restaurant several times but decided to take it home this time and boy was this a mistake. Worst meal ever. The sweet andcsour chicken was terrible. The chicken was so overcooked and overdone it dod not resemble chicken. The egg drop soup was so tiny. I ordered a large egg drop soup and i dont know what they gave me. Not enough for one person let alone three. No egg in it. Combo fried rice was lacking in meat. Had to send a search party to find much. Egg rolls on decent thing i had that night. Will definitely not eat there anytine soon.
Wow, with all the affordable places to eat Thai/Chinese food in town don’t waste your money on this place. The amount of chicken in the PrioWan is hysterical! More chicken is found in a budget frozen meal. We asked for fried rice and got all white rice instead. Called to complain and they said fried rice is a 1.00 extra per plate! What? Not what I remember dining in. The chicken Panang is suppose to be noticeably spicy but not so spicy that it’s inedible. We basically wasted almost 60.00 bucks for substandard food and meek proportions. Any fast food value menu would of been better. The management really needs to re-evaluate how they serve the public and maintain a viable, busy and successful restaurant.
Waited 20 minutes nobody ever came to greet us or take our order.
I'm from Oklahoma and wanted to get some sushi and I have to say I was very unimpressed. Both rolls we got didn't taste right and one of them tasted like it had been rolled through that ginger and wasabi, which I can't stand either. So $50 down the drain. I wouldn't recommend
My favorite part of this experience was the gross sushi roll I had that I asked my sweet server to take back and remove from my check. It was poorly rolled, over sauced, and had about .00 ounces of any real seafood included. She seemed afraid to take it back and then brought me my check with the roll still included. I told her, I didn’t eat that, you took it away, and she said there was nothing she could do.I refused to pay for something I couldn’t stomach to eat, and the owner/manager came to my table to argue with me that there was a piece missing so I needed to pay. I’m…how would I know that it was inedible if I didn’t eat a piece???? It wasn’t about the money, tipped my server 30% but the manager or owner on duty was condescending and rude and the sushi roll I had was in no way authentic or edible. Pass.
Food was cold and over priced. Sushi was gross. If you want good food in Amarillo go to Bangkok Tokyo. This was expensive and gross. So disappointed! Service was not great but not horrible. Won't be back! I'm praying we dont get food poisoning from this 🤬
Average food. Horrible customer service. The only time our waitress came by our table was to take our order, and bring us our food. On top of all that, she brought me an entirely different sushi roll that had Jalapeños in it. When I told her that the one I ordered didn’t have jalapeños in it (according to the menu) her response was “well we have a new guy in the kitchen”.... and she paused for a while and asked “well do you want another one?” 🙄 By the time they brought it back, everyone on the table was done eating. I will NOT be going back to this place EVER again.
This is absolutely the worst restaurant in Amarillo, after waiting 45 minutes for my hibachi salmon, we ask for it to go, it was not good. The meal was supposed to come with soup and salad, NOTHING. And I guess they expect you to eat with your hands. Please, do not waste your time or money on this place. Apparently , we are not the only ones, they had very few customers.
I came here with some friends who worked nearby. They said that they had ordered the sushi and it was delivered incredibly fast. We are here and it was easily the work Asian food experience in Amarillo, which is an achievement in and of itself. My tonkatsu was the toughest and blandest pork I have ever attempted to eat, and our food came out at varied times ranging from 20 minutes after we ordered to well after an hour. I imagine they get most of their business from take out so that's all they care about, however the food I ate was terrible. Also the bill was 80 bucks for lunch menu. I didn't go over it with a fine comb to make sure we were charged for lunch prices but the friends had to go fast due to the time and you shouldn't have to ever do that. We were assured multiple times that this was the lunch menu. Would not recommend to anyone.
Might be the worst place in Amarillo. Service is terrible and the sushi is even worse.
Ordered sweet and sour chicken and got a box full of breading, barely any chicken. I live close by so I've tried a lot on the menu and it's been extremely mediocre for the high price. There are plenty of better restaurants close by so don't waste your money.
Combination fried rice. Super oily Deep fried sushi. Harddddddddd
I do not recommend ordering from Young sushi through Uber Eats. All of my items I ordered spring rolls, a couple lunch specials, yellow curry, and pad Thai. Temperature was good, but Pad thai had no bean sprouts, no peanuts just noodles and a few pieces of tofu. The yellow curry doesn’t have one potato in it just tofu and curry sauce, which is a great portion if they add veggies. The spring rolls, I was reluctant to order because those are always, hit/mess. The food is a hard pass for me. The food was so high scorched, the Styrofoam. Seemed like it would be a great lunch special but turns out it’s just rice noodles and curry sauce with tofu. This may partly be an error on the Uber Eats app, considering it had a section that said remove the items that you do not wish to be included in the food and I think it meant add all the items you want in the dish, which doesn’t make sense to me. Hope you have a better experience. Cheers!
Ordered my favorite dish tom yum soup as I'm currently sick. It's usually the best in amarillo and I usually sing their praises to anyone hoe delicious it is. Not this time. This time they made it so spicy it's not edible. The waitress did not care and said it's suppose to be that hot. They have lost a customer for this and I will be telling others about the decline in service.
Missing half my door dash order, I call and their answer? Oh our bad yea it’s sitting here. Cool. We already waited an hour and paid a premium. Half the people at my table don’t have dinner. The customer service here is a freaking joke.
