Worst chipotle I’ve ever been to. Right now… it’s a Friday night, 630pm, they don’t close until 10. The bar is near bare, No steak, no carne, old dry chicken, rice all stuck together, nothing on the grill, this place is ALWAYS TERRIBLE. This isn’t the first time. I don’t expect perfection, I’ve learned to have low standards for pretty much any takeout in Amsterdam at this point, but why chipotle? it’s like the one thing you just shouldn’t be allowed to destroy, yet based off my experiences and the hundreds of dollars I’ve wasted here hoping just ONCE they’d get it right, that’s exactly what has been allowed here at this location, they have destroyed what is the brand standard of “chipotle” I drive all the way to niskayuna chipotle most of the time now just to avoid this one, however tonight I was hungry and it’s 5 mins from home and figured it’s dinner time on a Friday, how bad could it possibly be? Welp. Bad. It was so bad I left with nothing as they had nearly nothing on the bar, dirty dishes strewn everywhere on the prep tables empty grill, two employees who could care less about anything besides serving what was already made and letting it run out. I’m sure this can’t be good for business. The place was EMPTY. No one there on a Friday night… I see why. Take my review and all these other reviews seriously and don’t waste your time at this location. It’s absolutely atrocious. I’ll take a wild guess and say it’s probably the manager they brought here from McDonald’s causing this place to be so awful, she was terrible at McDonald’s and brought that place to its knees. Now completely overhauled, how long sales gonna slump at this chipotle before they kick her out of this place and bring in appropriate management that respects QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE? This place should be shut down. No standards is the standard. You’ve been warned! *UPDATED 02/24 TO REFLECT THE DRASTIC CHANGES SINCE PRIOR REVIEW. This chipotle has made a total 360 in my opinion. I now eat here daily. Lily and her team have really done an amazing job in turning this location around. If you are hungry, Give it a shot. Daytime is Always on point… Night time (6-close) can get a little rugged, they’ll run out of stuff and not want to make more, staff is a little less attentive, unless the manager is there.. when manager is in at night, all good…if she’s not there at night, I’ll usually pass as the bar gets ran thru and shows it.
A mighty fine burrito. Stopped in and placed my order in person, going with a burrito, and a bag of chips with queso. Coming to a little under $20 before tip. Ended up standing at the register for around 5-6 minutes while one of the workers kept yelling for chips to be made, while another one slowly worked on refilling ingredients, another was busy cooking in the back, and another was handling online orders. It was a little awkward, but eventually the chips were acquired and I was out the door. Back home the burrito was delicious, large, and nice and warm. My choice on fillings, the fajita veggies, pinto beans, chicken, queso, lettuce, shredded cheese, and brown rice is on point. The queso for the chips was a bit grainy, and the accompanying chips were a tad too salty. Overall an average meal and an average experience.
Chipotle in Amsterdam is unfortunately by far the most poorly led Chipotle that I have ever been to. Consistently out of food, door dash orders consistently missing items, or made incorrectly. Recently spent ten minutes in line just watching them make food back on the grill and I had to walk out. They had two on the grill, one on the register and two working the drive through.
The gentleman who helped me is destined for great things. Acted well under pressure. Ordered a couple bowls w/ rice. A snobby employee took the rest of the white rice as the employee was making my bowl. The gentleman helping me looked mortified but tried his best to not let me down! Aside from that the entire establishment was nasty and the health inspector should drop by there! Filthy dishes everywhere, and the dining room was grotesque. Upon exiting the building I regretted even purchasing the food but the great customer service I received from the gentleman who made my food is why I paid and moved on. We won’t be going to this Chipotle again.
The employees were very attentive but all the food surfaces were filthy. None of the counters in the back were clean. They were busy sure, but it looked like there was a food fight in the prep area. The floors were really dirty (not a rainy day) and the bathrooms weren't much better. Paid 30 dollars for a burrito and burrito bowl that promptly made us sick that evening. Still not right the next day. Will not go back. Feel bad leaving this review because the employees were SUPER nice... so at least they have that going for them.
I never post reviews ever. But my husband and I very rarely eat here. It’s like a treat for us on date night if we choose it. Anyway this is the closet one around us. 45 minutes. We went to this one a couple months ago. And they were out of everything 2 chickens and salsa and a few other things. We were bummed to say the least but we came all that way and made the best of it. No commutation at all between the employees. The cook was not even making anything when we were standing there. Ok so this past Saturday I was in the mood for Chipotle would you not know it out of everything again. And about 6 people behind us and 3 in front of us. How are you going to be out of everything that makes you Chipotle? Again cook in back not doing a damn thing.my husband noticed that the person doing to go orders had all their trays full of all protein and all the fixings. When we were walking out. So we didn’t get what we came in for and again had to settle. This place is poorly managed to say the least. For what they charge they should have everything available for customers to choose from.
Past 2 times I've been here, staff literally ignored me, nobody in line, nobody in drive through, they weren't working on anything. Stood there for 5 minutes before just leaving
They run out of main ingredients and don't seem to care or want to make it right. They treat the customers like you are "privileged" to eat there instead of offering good customer service with a smile. Until management is changed and new employees are brought in that treat the customers right I will avoid this location.
Terrible all around. Food took forever, dining area was a mess, but really the most striking thing was the terrible attitude exibited by the staff. The guy making to-go orders was visibly upset slamming things around and cursing under his breath. I would have left 0 stars of possible.
This location is total garbage. Do not waste your time or money. Husband stopped to grab dinner for us on a busy Wednesday night and they were CLOSED at 7pm for no discernible reason. If it’s within 2 hours of closing and they are out of something they will not make more. How is this location even making money? Stay away. Go to Taco Bell.
Horrible management, disrespectful staff, calling customers and other names, swearing (not kid friendly) The smell of Marijuana and seeing staff 'high' The rudeness of higher up staff to the employees beneath them, especially this past Friday...ive never seen an establishment so bad, gross, very messy and dirty. We did not order or get anything...I was afraid to. I just felt bad for the staff who were getting yelled at.
I placed a digit order online through my Chipotle account that added up to $154.98. I had placed the order about 10am on 12/17 for a 11:40am pick up through the digital lane. There was a line so I didn't get to the window until 11:50am. I gave my name and was told that my order was not ready. I said "ok but I placed the order early"? The girl at the window proceeded to blame the person ahead of me saying their order was larger than mine. I asked her what she wanted me to do. Wait in the digital pick up lane or pull ahead. She told me to do whatever I want. I decided to wait right where I was. I was then told about noon that they no longer had fajita veggies for half my order. And was asked by another staff member if I would like a replacement. I told him I would take some pico on the side. (I never received the pico). After 12:15pm, the girl finally came back to the window. She again told me the wait was because of the order in front of me. I told her it was unacceptable that I had to wait 35 mins for my order. I told her I would be contacting her manager. She proceeded to tell me to call whoever I want and to never come back and gave in the middle finger.
Absolutely HORRIBLE. The “manager” doesn’t do her job. NO MEAT ON THE LINE AT 6 PM. The place was a disgusting mess, I left without a bowl, how do you NOT HAVE WHITE RICE?!?! NO CARNE? NO BARBACOA?? NO QUESO??? SALAD GREENS WILTED AND NASTY. THIS CHIPOTLE LOCATION HAS BECOME DISASTROUS. Stay away!!! On the rare occasion they actually have anything on the bar I doubt that it has been handled properly. It’s like a cross contamination paradise. Absolutely disgusting. GET NEW MANAGEMENT!!!!!
I should have taken pictures because the condition of this location was absolutely disgusting. The tables, floors and beverage areas were all littered with food, some of the food in the line were dry and crusty on top and beverage containers were empty. I love Chipotle but this particular location is horrific.
i ate a bowl from here last night, woke up fighting for my life. the food tasted off but i was so hungry i didn't think much of it. i'm never eating from this location again. not until they get new management. the current manager used to manage the moe's in amsterdam and that restaurant was always disgusting. i'm not surprised at all. idk who picks the managers and how they last this long but clearly you don't need to do much. meanwhile everyone else suffers the consequences.
Every Sunday after church we head over to chipotle to get food. For the last 2 months it’s been worse and worse. There’s no pride, no joy, no helpful effort, no desire to do their job correctly. The makeline of food is a mess and always looking old, stale and passed its prime. They get basic instructions wrong when asking to assemble an order. Rush and want to quickly slap the next thing on before a sentence is finished. The worker had remake my food 3 times! In a row!! They kept adding the same thing I specifically told them I did not want! Then waited for 5 minutes standing at the checkout while the line backed up before anyone came to cash me out. The 3 workers looked like they could care less about work let alone the customers. Store was messy and dirty. Nothing looked fresh or welcoming. Disappointed not to see pride and eager effort in the fast food workplace. Time to go elsewhere to eat for sure.
I went into this Chipotle at 12:30 PM on a Thursday for lunch. When I made it to the counter to order, I noticed that there was no meat on the line. I asked if more carnitas or barbacoa were available, only to be told that none was ready and it would be at least 20 minutes because they were just starting to prepare it. Really? 1.5 hours into being open and you are completely out of several main menu ingredients? I have no idea how this location stays in business
God awful service. Extremely slow. One of the workers, Liz or something similar, mumbled under her breath when I asked her to remake my order (after making it wrong 3 times already). Not only was she slow, she was insanely rude. If you’re going to talk poorly of customers, do it out of earshot. Not only that, but rolling her eyes, sticking her hands in my food, UNGLOVED. I had a piece of black hair in my bowl, as well. I’m disgusted. I rarely treat myself out like this and to have such a terrible experience is upsetting. I truly expected more from this location and its workers. Food was great, experience was terrible. Do better, Chipolte. Fix your workers attitudes.
This is probably the worst experience I ever had here the whole table where they serve your food was messy and dirty and they had flys all over the cooler food and they did not have anything ready or cooked this isn’t the first time that I went and they were not properly prepared 2 employees where gone line at the door then they come out laughing while one hard worker was on the grill. I really hope management gets this resolved. I am highly upset being that this is the only chipotle within miles and I had to Endor this .
1 star across the board was as low as I could go. This Chipotle SUCKS!!! Never a problem at other locations. I’ve had to have multiple refunded orders. Burritos are never right, now look at this quality of work that they produce. This is BS! Chipotle- fix this location. It’s borderline robbery.
My food was terrible, barely any meat. They were out of multiple items. It didn't taste that great. No chips anymore. I waited about 5min to get cashed out, despite no one being ahead of me in line Then there were no napkins. The place was a mess. They were out of most of the drinks. The whole area was a mess. Stay away from this place.
