Absolutely LOVED everything about The Boxing Donkey! Just entering the front door puts you right in the middle of the pub area. The ambiance is reminiscent of an old, authentic, Irish pub which envelopes you completely! Chalkboards filled with ales, beers, and all kinds of liquid yummies! An old, beautiful wood floor. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They directed us tward the end of the bar, where we could order drinks and food. After we made our drink choices we opted for indoor seating, and made our way to the dining room. I can't begin to explain how much I enjoyed our area, walls covered in personal photos, funny ale and Irish whiskey advertisements, even pictures of someone's dog. We sat at a table for four, got settled in, ordered our food, and my son brought us water and silverware. We talked and waited for our food. I ordered the corned beef Reuben, which comes with fries and Donkey sauce. My whole meal was absolutely spectacular, I just wanted to shove everything in my mouth all at once!! Amazing food, we all loved what we ordered, my daughters whiskey barbeque bacon cheeseburger was absolutely addicting, especially with their homemade barbeque sauce, and donkey sauce for her fries. My son had a fantastic buffalo chicken mac and cheese that looked, smelled, and he said tasted scrumptious. We all had an almost magical moment we didn't want to end. We were able to eat our fill, and still bring home some leftovers to enjoy the next day. All I can really say is that I haven't had food that good in a really long time. You gotta try it for yourself! Prices are a bit steep, but well worth it! I can barely wait to go back again!! My new favorite restaurant❣😁

Really good food and drinks in a great atmosphere. Staff is friendly and the food is very tasty. Prices are fair for the good quality you receive. Their posted specials are always a good pick. A really good place to meet up with friends and enjoy good food and drinks, and occasionally watch the trains pass by.

So much goodness packed into one visit! Patio dining and to-go orders are available right now and we chose the patio (although we have done to-go several times and it was all fantastic). Service was super helpful and friendly as always, and safety and cleanliness was obviously a priority. Check their social media pages for the most current menu and specials as things change weekly. Now to the important part...the food! We ordered loaded spuds and a Magners cider to start. The spuds were PERFECT: hot, crispy tots loaded with bacon, their special Donkey sauce, sour cream and green onion. We always fight for the last one (I won). The only thing I would like to see different is a better selection of cider. Their beer selection is awesome, but cider is a little lacking. Entrees were the Whiskey BBQ Burger for the hubs and the Thunder Cluck for me. The Whiskey BBQ was a generous patty piled high with onion rings and bacon with plenty of sauce. He chose Donkey fries (my least fav but he cleaned his plate). The Thunder Cluck can be ordered with the chicken grilled or crispy and I chose crispy (seriously, you have to have this sandwich). Crispy chicken, bacon, avocado, onion, lettuce, tomato and swiss cheese with a balsamic glaze. I chose a salad with a creamy balsamic as my side. Salad was simple but fresh. Romaine, tomato, cucumber, pickled onion and croutons. Great food, great people. I highly recommend you visit, especially now, and support a great Roseville treasure.

My husband and Father ordered the Patty Melt, as you can see from the photo we were able to order it medium-rare and it was delicious! I ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage... The Meat was juicy and amazingly delicious! The Cabbage was flavorful! Wish I had come sooner 😍

Cute quiet spot, food was good. I really liked the loaded brussel sprouts. I'd honestly just order those as a faux salad! Wasn't an overly Irish menu, so kind of a standard American faire in terms of menu, but some of your stereotypical American Irish stuff.

All around pretty good, not great. Fun place to go for some beers and pretty good food. Service is a bit slow, but the staff are all very friendly and it's not a big deal of you're not in a rush.

This restaurant has cockroaches. I know this because I lived directly above the restaurant for about a year and it was a major problem in the entire building and had been for years and was even worse before. I could not turn my light off while I slept because the cock roaches would fill the floor. Like I said I lived directly literally right above the restaurant. I wouldn't eat at any of the restaurants in this building. I don't know how they pass health inspections because I know there restaurant is really full of cockroaches. I wish I had photos to prove it but I am being honest. I also ate here several times and the customer service is mediocre and it is extremely expensive.

So I was in town from NY visiting family and stopped here. Very disappointed. The best thing was the food, but that was just ok. The worst thing is the prices. $10 for a pint of Guinness is just robbery, and I live in NY...and never pay that much. The place has the two partners as bartenders and they can do whatever they want, but the experience suffers. The thing that put it over the top for me though, was when I asked the owner why they opened and Irish pub. He said they did research and an Irish pub is the least likely bar/restaurant to fail. Now it is a business so fine, but they completely miss the reason for opening and Irish pub. It has much deeper meaning than that. There are a lot of them where I live, and they are special places with meaning. And go to Ireland...it is even more meaningful. The owner needs to take a trip there to understand what it is all about. Do NOT recommend And will not return when visiting again!!
