The spot that is NOT packed with sugar pump aficionados and ridiculous prices. Good wholesome coffee and friendly service!
He's a very good coffee shop I'm standing when I walk in they already know what I'm going to order so they're already preparing it that I like a place like that
Great coffee! Delicious burrito!
Very good coffee the space is cozy and comfortable. Friendly service!
Excellent little coffee shop. Delicious coffee, friendly service and a cool place.
Coffeetopia has been a favorite if mine for years. I love their spiced chai and their great loose leaf tea selection. And if coffee is your thing, their drip bar is the bomb! It's on Portola Dr., just three blocks up from Pleasure Point beaches and two blocks west of 41st Ave.. Great snack foods and super friendly staff.
The absolute most tasty Latte's ocean side voted by a coffee aficionado. Staff is friendly, polite and always pleasant. Nice seating outside. Haven't tried their food, however I am sure it's as good as their coffee :-)
I very much enjoy the layout of the store and all of the drinks I've had there. The vault room is a perfect quiet place to do homework. And the staff is always super friendly.
Something for everyone. Coffeetopia has a large selection of coffees, tea's, smoothies and pastries. The staff are warm and welcoming and are quite good a remembering orders; just another way they like to make you feel important. Five stars!
Great place just to relax and have some good coffee. The mochas with the chocolate whip and chocolate shavings is great if you want a sweet drink, but their pour over coffee bar makes delicious brewed coffee, too!
Love this place. The staff is friendly the atmosphere is relaxed. It can get busy so have patience!! The coffee is worth the wait 😊
Fantastic coffee place, the dark roast is really dark and delicious. You will love the breakfast burritos... we go every time we are in Capitola...
Love this chain coffee house. Each location is unique. This one has amazing brick work outside. Oh, the coffee selection is amazing. Flourless desserts as well.
Food was good but just got a scone. Friendly owner, wonderful outdoor seating.
Always a great place for an excellent cup of coffee. I lover their Mexican Moca's. Not too sweet - just right.
Locally owned. Always clean. Always ample seating and free parking. Handicap friendly. No dogs inside. Excellent service.
Best coffee in town! All of the locations are varied and unique-looking, but the staff is always friendly, and the caffeinated beverages are always great!
Always a good experience. Great breakfast green Chile burrito. And good salsa. Oh, and excellent cappuccino :)
Peanut butter frozen mocha is a go to on a nice day. Pro tip: add an extra shot to it for a real good time.
Lovely coffee, yummy bagels, fun spot to chill and write postcards. Convenient and plentiful parking.
Hands down best coffee in Santa Cruz other than Santa Cruz Coffee Roasters, Which they source their beans from. I love this place they have pour over coffee as well, which is super strong. Lots of lattes and iced drinks. Great breakfast burritos and pastries. They have a great Matcha. Two locations one on portola one on capitola. No corporate coffee!!!
Macchiato was well-done but delivered in an oversize cup for the drink that it is. The vegan sustainable cookies (Kerri's?) they sell there are attractive and tasty.
Friendly service. Extra smiles. I watched the barista make my simple espresso shot with love and attention. Cool art on the walls. Free wifi and plugs.

I don't buy coffee to often but I've always been a fan of Coffetopia. I used to go to their West side location often. They serve Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Co. My favorite. I especially love their brew bar. Freshly poured with whatever coffee you ask for. I usually get two blended together.
My ABSOLUTE Favorite Coffee shop in town!!! Excellent service, AMAZING coffee and coffee bar, delicious food and pastries!!! Grab a coffee in their ceramic cups, sit down, and relax!! Wonderful atmosphere, great music, and the bank vault is just a cool icing on the cake!!! Bring the kids and they'll love the bank vault door!!! LOVE COFFEETOPIA!!!!!!
Great place. Open EARLY and an easy walk from anywhere you may be parking in order to surf pleasure point. Two huge bonuses for me. The burrito was great and the decaf american also great. Friendly staff and tons of seating inside and even some outdoor seating too. Did I mention they open early? <3
One of the best espresso ristretto’s that I have had since I lived on the left coast. Lauren and Wren are very easy to communicate with. They are strong antennas, and send out good signals.
A small, laid-back coffee shop with a cool, old-fashioned bank vault inside! Aside from the atmosphere, the staff are friendly, and the coffee is good. I've had lattes, drip coffees and mochas from here before and they all tasted great! The wait time wasn't very long and there is outdoor seating as well as seating indoors within the vault, a smaller room and the main area. This is the perfect location to grab a coffee and then go for a walk along West Cliff, taking in the views and watching the surfers! They offer sweet treats and other coffee shop staples as well!
friendly people, pour overs and pre-made coffee, espresso, big clean bathrooms, nice indoor space for the vicinity, and nice outdoor seating as well
I went with my baby today, she was able to enjoy a bagel while I had my coffee. The person we ordered our coffee from was very sweet and welcoming. Our food came out in a rather quick manner even though they were very busy. I enjoyed my experience ❤️
Coffeetopia is one of my favorite coffee places in Santa Cruz area. I love their Mexican mocha. Iced or hot. They have good breakfast burritos and other food items. Friendly staff too.
A bustling cafe with an eclectic ensemble of tables and chairs. The syrups are made in-house, but what really strikes me is that their selection of loose leaf is from Silk Road Teas, a well-respected brand that I haven't seen offered at other coffee shops around Santa Cruz.
Great atmosphere and coffee. My art is up there until August 21st 2025.

Old school coffee house frequented by locals..... good coffee... good smoothies... good selection of breakfast burritos including tofu..... some nice pastries. Good relaxed vibe.
Coffee is always yummy. Never disappointing. Nice hangout spot in front. Good food and delicious smoothie. Also, good spot to study
A fun local place that has satisfying to-go breakfast. Many swear by the small Coffeetopia chain; my loyalty represents about every quarter.
Not as busy as Verve down on 41st avenue. The coffee is almost as good so I tend to go here a lot more and avoid the wait
Another boutique coffee shop but I actually like this one except they don't give free or even discounted refills on their self-service drip coffees. Pretty stingy. Good vibes here and nice staff. I was originally trying to go to cloud and cat across the street, parking was impossible and it looked like a trailer home, happily I stumbled across this place, much better.

I was not amazed. A kind of old school run down aesthetic, $4 for self-serve drip coffee. Meh.
The coffee here is very good. However with the fierce competition of the coffee place right across the street do not serve me a bagel with mold on it!
Love this place & their smoothies but unfortunately the one near me said their freezer broke so they weren’t making smoothies. Drove across town to the other location and they tell me their blender is down. Also they close an hour before google says. I gave them a friendly heads up that the hours on google are not accurate. The reply was “we don’t control that”. Well… someone does!!! Let your management know. I get that the baristas don’t have reign over the google account but “I’ll let my manager know” or “we’ll work on that” would be the professional response. Still love this place though and I understand baristas work hard. Much love just sharing the experience I had. Seems like a lot of things breaking in your business and not getting fixed quickly….

They have all the basics on the menu and their workers are friendly but our drinks were sub-par compared to the other coffee shops around. Maybe good if you like straight coffee/espresso. Ambiance ruined by political messages
The good: Friendly prompt service; good drinks/variety of bagels, close to beach; lots of parking;pleasant atmosphere and lots of locals. Could be better: the front of house is inconsistent-not very clean, filthy bathroom is not maintained, tables dirty/sticky. Overall it’s not bad.The service is good and there’s not much wait time for orders.
Paid extra for onions and cheese neither of which were on my bagel. Barely had any egg. I also asked for 2 iced coffees and they were served hot. I just took them and left because I didn't have the time. I usually have a pretty good experience here however they lagged hardcore today. Very disappointing.
Amazing coffee and smoothie and bagel products. Some of the best in Santa Cruz. Horrible service! One should budget 15-30 minutes to wait for a coffee or smoothie.

I come to visit my mother in law and this is one of the closest places to get coffee. Only reason they are getting 1 star is cause of convenience. I've been here 4 times and they have only made the coffee I asked for once. They either make it 2" from the top or its a mocha when I ordered a white mocha. They offer to remake it but that is super wasteful and I end up drinking a coffee I didn't want and didnt order. Will never go here again. Rather get coffee from the gas station.
Coffee was lousy. Barista needed more training.Had more foam than coffee. The woman who took our order was rude. This occurred Friday the 24th of March morning 11:30.
Walk-in to get coffee with my grandson this morning and the woman behind the counter yells “ our espresso machine is broken so unless you already have a coffee you need to get out!” So I said this might be a silly question but can I just get a hot chocolate? She replies no like i said the machine is broken. So I asked if I can just get a regular coffee and she tells me I am scaring her and being aggressive and need to leave!!! Not sure if it’s under new management but the last two experiences have been rude customer service. Not sure I’ll go back.
First couple times I went here the service was average. But the last time I went there, it was completely empty and I ordered just a simple double shot of espresso. Mind you it’s 5 dollars for that here. The guy who took my order was not busy at all, and he had time to have conversations with two different employees. As I sat there, I continually made eye contact with him, and he never once put effort into starting my simple order. Then a couple other people came in and he started their orders, one literally right in front of me as he looked at me too. It wasn’t until I stood up and asked him when my espresso was coming, and he acted like he forgot about it. Only then, did he start my order which took him less than one minute. I’m sorry, but I don’t believe someone would forget a simple order when I was literally the only person in the coffee shop literally sitting right in front of him. Maybe he wanted a generous tip for such a simple and easy order on an already overpriced, and mediocre shot of espresso. Oh, and by the way, he only gave you one shot not the double shot I paid for. I spent a total of 15 minutes sitting there. I don’t suggest you go here, go to Verve instead.
