Friendly staff fantastic food. Only been here a couple of times since discovering them. Most definitely will be returning. Thank you!
I'd come back. We stopped for a quick bit of lunch around 3pm, they were still serving lunch. The server was so kind and quick. The food was so tasty. We went with a lunch special that was on the easel out front. Chicken enchilada mole sauce Garden side salad honey lemon dressing They offered tortilla chips before the main course came out from the kitchen. The chips were warm and tasted very fresh. They provided a generous portion of red salsa in a mini wine carafe looking container that we poured into a colorful stoneware bowl (several refills of the bowl were in the mini caraf).
Delicious food, fun ambiance and wonderful service! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile and it just got better and better. I had yummy tacos and the complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and tasted great. I highly recommend Tortilla Flats!
Stopped by here after camping for some more substantial food. Tortilla Flats did not disappoint! All the food was really good with large portions, and the margaritas were strong. Would definitely come here again when in the area.
Love a place that has vegan options, and clearly defined too. And the gentleman that waited on us even doubled checked because their guacamole has a little bit of sour cream added in, so no guacamole for us. You know you’re at a place that 1) knows their menu and ingredients and 2) cares about peoples restrictions when they double check things like that. This place is so cute and quaint inside. Friendly, fast, and excellent service. The tofu marinade is slightly sweet, the flatwood protein has a nutty taste and texture. We had one super burrito of each, and they were both delicious and full of flavor. The mushroom taco on special was also tasty. The mushrooms had a nice grilled flavor, and the presentation was gorgeous (see photo). I wished they would have had a separate guacamole without the sour creme, and I wish places would discount a price that includes dairy that is then excluded, but it’s nearly impossible to find a place that does. With that being said, the prices are really good for the portion and great flavor, so I can’t complain much. I’ll definitely be back!
I'm local. Had my dogs on a walk. They accommodated me on the back porch. Had some crazy crepe carne asada mismatch deliciosa. Definitely redo.

Absolutely our favorite place. The young staff is the absolute best. I ran a restaurant/bar at one point and I can see the staff is efficient, professional, and well trained. And the margaritas really do deserve the award. The menu has expanded and offers many interesting new less common options. Ignore that nasty negative review. This is great laid back place with good food and service.
Quite good inauthentic Mexican food... The Enchiladas Mole, and the Green Enchiladas are both very good
Great food, but we go for the margaritas. Always excellent service.

love it here. We stop by often when driving between SF and Monterey. The Durango enchilada is so good. The other food is good, too. The bicycle riding skeletons are cool, and I want a full length sleeve tee of it.
The burritos are huge! Plenty left over for lunch the next day. I ordered the Flatland - a "meaty" nutmeal, a bit like trail mix. A lot of seeds. It's really good, but I love nuts and seeds etc. It's very unique and worth ordering.
Pricy for moderate portions but good quality. Exceptionally prepared classic Margaritas with fresh squeezed lime juice...no cheap bottled mix, thank goodness. Would recommend a return, maybe to try Tapas menu. The pic is pork enchilada and chile relleno. Good but not exceptional.

I ordered enchiladas, one cheese and one chicken. The cheese was good and the chicken was not. The consistency of the meat was very mushy and wet. Very unappetizing. The beans and rice had no spice or salt:( The margarita was very strong and worth the money. The wait staff took care of us. So bottom line, don’t order chicken. Otherwise decent. Can always spice up rice and beans.
Great menu with food being super fresh and delicious. Small place so expect to wait on busy evenings if you get there after 6:00.

Cute restaurant, very small. Sat at the bar and took a while to get acknowledged. I didn’t want a drink but apparently margaritas are good here. I was excited for the vegetarian options and being able to mix and match enchiladas I mean I know enchiladas have a lot of cheese but was so much that you couldn’t taste the mole or even the nuts base of the inside. As a cheese lover this was just too much, I was not able to finished and got a little gross out.
I think they are still good but after COVID the flavoring has changed and their margaritas seemed water down. The pitcher is filled half with ice which isn't a full pitcher and the prices did increase. Still overall good.
Ok, great drinks, but it's a matter of more alcohol here, which is why a margarita is more expensive. The food was not the greatest, but not bad though, but you can get better around here.

They accommodated our party of 6 on the back patio, which was nice. Had outdoor heaters. Complimentary chips and salsa was nice. Salsa was rather bland. Our waitress was very friendly. Ordered a round of waters, one of which came with no ice for some reason, and 4 margaritas. One margarita was supposed to be a frozen strawberry with salt on the rim, we received a frozen mango with no salt. Another was supposed to be a mango with no salt, was delivered with salt, and mixed very strong with a low quality tequila. The 3rd was fine and the 4th was forgotten. 2 of us ordered the seafood burrito special. Presentation was fantastic, beautifully plated. However biting in to it was 95% cream cheese, 3% tiny little salad shrimp, and 2% of who knows what. Another meal was the taco's ordered with corn tortillas, but served with flour tortillas. Another was the #5 enchiladas with very dry refried beans, though the seasoning was great the rice was also very dry, and the beef was overcooked. With that being said we are all from out of state and perhaps our pallets were not prepared for this version of Mexican cuisine, but none of us enjoyed our meals, and we did not receive very good service. Maybe they had an off day, but cannot say I would recommend.

I went for a weekly special menu that featured seafood burritos, prickly pear jalapeño shrimp, jalapeño ribs, and a prickly pear margarita. First, when we ordered the shrimp as an appetizer, we were not informed that it would be served as a full dinner plate. It was passable as an unbalanced sweet shrimp dish. Then, my seafood burrito arrived stone cold in the middle, suggesting it had been reheated. The sauce was thick and unappetizing, with unrecognizable pieces of seafood mixed in. The ribs were covered in a lot of unrendered fat. The margaritas, however, were a saving grace. Overall, for $170 (and that was without dessert), it was an underwhelming lunch experience, and we will pass next time. The restaurant was very slow, which is no excuse for serving reheated seafood that isn't at the proper temperature. There are too many dining options in the area to put up with this kind of experience.
This place used to have great service & cheese enchiladas back in the day but the male manager sucks now. I ordered cheese enchiladas to go and got chicken. I’ve been a vegetarian for over 20 years & was pissed, so I called them to tell them & they said they’d have the manager call to refund me. I heard nothing for 48 hours and had to go back in there and demand they call the manager and refund me. Horrible customer service.
My wife and I have kept trying to like this place. It’s close to our home, and we love the little Soquel Village strip. We’ve had a few unpleasant experiences here over the years, and I guess we forget about them, and keep giving this place the “second chance”. We headed down there tonight. My wife is pregnant, and was craving a non-alcoholic margarita with salt. She ordered that, and I asked for one with tequila. Mine came with a salt rim, hers didn’t. When the waiter came back, he asked how we liked the drinks, and my wife commented that she didn’t expect it to be blended, but that it was okay, she just really was hoping for the salt rim. He said he’d be right back, and brought back one on-the-rocks, with no salt rim. (Must’ve been that it was loud in there with the live music; maybe he didn’t hear.) So he walked away at that point, but we were definitely ready to order (maybe he needed to check on another table or something, but it seemed weird that he would drop stuff off and not stick around to see if we were happy.) We had originally asked for waters with our drink order, and had wanted to remind him that we still wanted those. My wife ordered the vegetarian enchilada and a fish taco combo plate (she’s pescatarian). She got a chicken enchilada, instead. We told the waiter, and they remade it, and didn’t make us pay for that meal. (Which is cool, but not great.) We also got some guacamole. It needed salt. There was no salt on the table, and my wife finally hassled a bartender/server to find us one, because our server was hard to pin down. We never got the basket of chips we asked for, to finish our guac. Her fish taco was particularly “fishy” to her. I think I’ll try to eat it later, but agree that it’s a fragrant fish! We were disappointed to still pay $70 (even after her veggie enchilada was comped) for such a crummy experience. Not trying to be a jerk at all. I hate leaving bad reviews, but when you go to a place, a few times, trying to like it, and keep having sub-par experiences, you feel like you should tell your neighbors, if you care about them. We’re willing to consider that maybe they have some great meat dishes that we don’t order.
Been going here for decades, maybe a hundred times, always been great. Ordered a burrito, got a taco. I understand costs are up these days but come on. Always been willing to not get chips and salsa for takeout, they're excellent but been dine-in only. Sadly won't likely be back.

In response to the owner: I WATCHED the margarita get poured out of a pitcher! So great you won awards for your margaritas, but on the day I was there, I didn't get one. And yes, you are correct, I posted the same review on Yelp. People do that you know. It is this cool thing called copy and paste. Why in the world would I waste my time writing 2 completely different reviews for such a terrible experience? And for your information, even when using fresh limes, when they have been squeezed and sitting for a long time in a pitcher (remember I watched them pour it with my own eyes) they start to taste stale like out of a bottle even if they were fresh to begin with. And the vegetables in my burrito were bone dry bland flavor. Had nothing to do with spiciness level. I come from the restaurant industry. I know what I am talking about. And finally, part of the reason my review was long was because I actually took the time to write polite and nice things too. I could have left those out after having such a bad experience, and had a much shorter review. Maybe you should have thought about that before your snide comments. You would have done better not to reply at all then to come at me the way you have in your reply. Sorry... more than 3 strikes, and you're out. I wanted to sit outside and have a good margarita, plus I eat plant based, so with a full bar, outdoor seating, and mentions of good veggie options, I decided to give this place a try. I arrived, and the sweet, young girl working was quite overwhelmed with just 3 tables. It took her a VERY long time to even get me a menu. I come from the restaurant industry, and I know people have off days, so I cut her some slack. I had wanted to sit outside, but I knew just by how overwhelmed she was with only 3 tables inside, that there was NO way I was going to be able be able to eat outside, one of the big reasons I chose this restaurant. I was disappointed, but I understand understaffing and not great staff options can be a real challenge these days. I was happy they had an ACTUAL grilled veggie burrito, not just rice and beans, so I ordered that. I asked a question about a tequila that she had no answer to but told me another server who was coming would know the answer and that was that (she never asked the other server when that server did arrive.) When the burrito arrived, I was pleased with just how big it was. Sadly, the seasoning was quite bland, so I POURED salsa all over it to add flavor. As I began to eat, the next (big) strike happened when I found a very large hair in the food. It is so disgusting when this happens. Hair nets in kitchens are for a reason. I do understand this still happens sometimes, though, even when trying really hard, so I didn't make a big scene, but I did completely lose my appetite, showed the newer server, told her to please take it away, and take it off my bill, and that I would just order my drink. Because she was quite busy, I decided not to ask her about the other tequila from previously and just stick with a classic margarita which was described in the menu as sounding good as the old style classic margarita as tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice. She turns around asks another man to make it, and he POURS IT OUT OF A PITCHER. And mind you, they charge SIXTEEN DOLLARS for this drink. And on top of that there are still only like maybe 7 tables total in the whole restaurant, including the ones who were already there and eating when I arrived. I took a sip of the margarita, and it was AWFUL. Tasted mostly like lime juice from a bottle. i am dumbfounded they charge $16 for a pre-mixed margarita. I can go to a chain restaurant, have cheaper and better tasting food and drinks, better QUALITY drinks for the same price or even cheaper, plus better service. I will NEVER go to this place again. I am amazed this place is able to remain open.
