We were actually headed to a different bar when we passed Escovitchez, but the exterior looked so inviting we had to stop in. I’m so glad we did—it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The vibe was unmatched. They had a live DJ spinning great tracks, and the energy was so high that people were actually up and dancing. I loved that they have huge TVs everywhere; I was able to catch the CFB game while I ate, and then joined the dance floor once I was finished. The Food & Drinks: Oxtails: Absolutely delicious and tender. Jamaican Mule: A great twist on a classic. If you like rum, get this! Shoutout to the two bartenders working that night. They weren't just fast and skilled with the drinks—they were genuinely funny and great company. They made us feel right at home. This place is a 10/10. I’ll definitely be back!
Visited for 1st time early Friday evening and we'll be back with friends. The food was delicious and service friendly and frequent without being bothersome. We started with jerk chicken plantain nachos, an interesting and delicious appetizer, and then ordered the Calyspso Cauliflower vege dish and Ox tail shrimp fried rice. Both main dishes were excellent.
This restaurant is top notch. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I did not have a reservation but my party of 5 was able to get a table. I recommend you make a reservation because they get pretty busy fast. The staff was very friendly, and attentive our whole visit. We were checked on often. If we had any questions they were pleased to give us answers and they made suggestions as well. The food was so good from our appetizers to our main dish. The portions were plenty most of my party had to get to-go containers. Let's not forget how beautiful this restaurant is. The music was good as well.
We had a great time for a lovely birthday dinner. Food and drinks were amazing! Service was top tier, everyone was nice and accommodating for whatever we needed. Music and vibes were nice as well. We will definitely be back!
It was our first time at the atl location and it did not disappoint! My husband and I frequent the Snellevile location. Firstly.. the she service was wonderful our server Kiera, was bubbly, explained dishes on the menu and made recommendations.. the atmosphere was elegant! The food was amazing as always! It was my husbands birthday, thanks for making great!!! Will definitely will be visiting again!
I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant and I'm so happy we chose this restaurant!! It was a vibe!! The food, the service, the music was outstanding!! The wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. The food was delicious and very flavorful! The DJ had us on our feet dancing all night!! The restaurant decor is really nice and highlights our Jamaican icons and beautiful photos capturing the essence of our culture! My friends and I, along with other guests, had an amazing time!!! I highly recommend this restaurant (Tucker location). I will be back!
Me and bae went for dinner couple weeks ago and food was 9/10. We ordered the jerk spring rolls(came cold) and blow wow shrimp for appetizers. The shrimp was the best thing we ordered. For dinner I had the stew chicken and rice, 10/10 just needed the rice portion to be larger. And babe ordered the lamb chops and potatoes, I’m gonna say it was 10/10 for him because he finished his food before me lol.
I was attending a birthday party at sky zone and figured I’d slip out for a quick good time somewhere close. I’ve seen EscovitcheZ online and was like I have to try it when I saw how close it was on google maps. Everything from the service when you’re greeted and the attentive bartender to manager or owner walking around checking on you. The food was great. Shoutout to Sanaiya (Bartender from Saturday afternoon). Best authentic Jamaican food I’ve had in Atlanta. I sent some friends there after the party and they enjoyed the experience as well.
This place is top tier!! The food, the atmosphere, the service!!! Highly recommend everything! This will be a regular spot for us!
Stumbled upon this place while shopping, before they were opened. Looked them up the other night and seen they finally opened on the 5th. Decided to go with my hubby for date night. Food was very good!!! Oxtails were tender jerk Mac n cheese was great and big enough for two. Lamp chop Rasta pasta was chefs kisss! Lamb tasted like it was grilled. Rum punch was authentic and so was the bob Marley. Live music started while we were half way through eating bummed we didn’t get there later to see the entire show. I feel the food was priced accordingly and presented well. If I had to make one recommendation I would say the drinks need to be in taller glasses for the price! Because with ice you ain’t really getting much! Other than that I willl be back very very soon! Also the decor was lovely and the bowls and plates the food were served in were also lovely. Waiters were nice. Annnnnnd the bathrooms were clean iykyk!!! Okay!
Great cozy restaurant. Food is very tasty. Iy was where we celebrate a Holiday event
I’ve been to the Snellville location and the Atlanta location did not disappoint. The Sunday vibes were on point and the service was great. The food was delicious. Our server Damonte was very attentive and did a great job! I will definitely come back!!!
The food was 10/10!! For an appetizer I had the jerk spring rolls and entree I had the oxtail Rasta pasta! I will be back!
Best experience in dining! Staff is courteous; amenities perfect; location ideal; parking free; perfect and beautiful decorations that reflects Jamaican artists, people, vegetation and so much more! Perfect for events, family, individual, couples dining; as well as catering and takeout! I have fallen in love with this place! FOOD IS DELICIOUS and PROFESSIONALY; GRACIOUSLY and PLEASANTLY served to every customer! I encourage people to go and enjoy the delicious food! Listen to Jamaican music and make your body and soul relax in an upscale environment!!!
This place is legit. My biggest issue with going to sit down Caribbean restaurant is often not a lot of food served for the price. The entrees we had could have been split in 2. The best curry goat i have had in the states. The oxtail/shrimp fried rice was ok, it was a bit moist, but the flavor of the oxtails served on the side (which I was not expecting) made up for it. Great ambiance, great music, definitely coming back for a date night to indulge in adult beverages. Blessings and prosperity to the owners on their next.
I really appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, including the host, server, and additional staff that served us for dinner. The ambience was beautiful. The meal was delicious. Each member of our party enjoyed it. I was served the dairy-free pasta with added jerk chicken and the other members of my party were served the lemon butter atlantic salmon and jerk chicken dinners. Additionally, I appreciated that there were ingredient containing labels associated with food sensitivities and allergies attached to their specific menu items. Thank you so much for your kind service!
One of the best Caribbean restaurants in town. The appetizers, the entrée, and the dessert were on point. Not to mention the customer service was a 10 out of 10.
Valentine’s Day — we arrived about 15 minutes late for our reservation, but they still honored it and seated us pretty quickly, even though several people were still waiting. The only downside was that we were seated between two other couples, and the space felt tight with little privacy. However, the excellent service, delicious food, great drinks, and overall atmosphere definitely made up for it. 10 out of 10 — we will definitely be back.
Good people, good vibes, and good food. No place will ever be perfect. Some people just complain too much. In my view, each part of the venue is for a certain level of intimacy. The front section sufficiently separates you from the higher energy vibes where the DJ performs. The partition lowers the volume just enough. I have only eaten at the main bar so far because that's my vibe. There are two bars, by the way. I am not a big drinker but I like to sit at a bar and eat and relax and strike up conversations and still hear the music. I have visited many times since the opening. For any business, in any industry, there will be some kinks in the first few months. To date, any kinks I've noticed are largely smoothed out. When I order food, it comes out in decent time and it comes out hot and fresh. I like my food that way. Sometimes you may even see the top chef come out and make sure everything is good. The bartenders are friendly and courteous. My favorite thing is really not even the food. It's the ambiance and the type of crowd that setting draws. If you are of the mature type (of broad age range) that knows how enjoy and appreciate nice settings, this is the right place. You can dress up and fit right in. Sometimes you may want to dress a bit relaxed, also. There's no judgment there either. Check it out!
I live in the neighborhood & have been eyeing it, to visit. Let me say, from the front door to the exit, customer service was on point! Now let’s talk about those beautiful Bartenders Crystal & Barby…friendly, knowledgeable about the food & drinks menu. Their suggestions for food & drinks were perfect! Thank you ladies & we will be a weekly customer, especially when the 2 of you are on shift! And…the DJ was 🔥🔥🔥!! Let’s patronize this Black business & get out and meet some new friends! Until next time!
We all loved the decor and enjoyed the appetizers. I ordered the chicken soup and Jerk Burger Both were a first for me and both were Awesome! The server conducted herself with the perfect amount of engagement, she was personable and provided good insights to the questions. We all enjoyed the appetizers and our entrees. 2 co-workers chose the oxtails, sides of jerk mac n cheese, and jerk chicken rice. We all agreed, we'd come back for happyhr. There were no surprises with the check. Escovtchez Tucker has a beautiful setup for datenight, parties and large groups.
This week, I had an incredible time at EscovitcheZ! The service was exceptional, especially from Denise, the manager on shift.Despite our large party of 13 people, Denise ensured that we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived until we left. The food was fresh, flavorful, and reminded me of authentic Jamaican cuisine. Kadie and Allyson, our waitress, provided us with great and impeccable service throughout our meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at EscovitcheZ and can't recommend it enough. It's truly a home for authentic Jamaican cuisine!
Just happened to find this gem while driving by. Beautiful restaurant.. great bar! Thanks KJ ! Thursday nights, they have comedy night.. have not been to that yet.But looking forward to! Excellent dining experience. All around!
If you give this place anything less than 5 stars, I’m convinced you’re just a jealous, envious hater. I dined here last night. The food was impeccable and the service was top tier. The menu is very nice and some of the dishes are uncommonly unique. We made sure to get something from each section. Oxtail Rasta pasta 4/5 (a little spicy for me but flavorful), oxtail shrimp fried rice 5/5, ackee and salt fish spring rolls 5/5, jerk plantain nachos 5/5 (mi favorite), pea soup 5/5, Jamaican pudding with vanilla ice cream 10/10. The service was great. The place is beautifully decorated. They carefully planned out this restaurant and I love the consideration they have for their employees. I would come back even if not for dinner and just to have appetizers and desserts. Everything will not always be perfect when you go out, but give credit where it’s due. Why give 3 stars if you had a good experience? Some of you people will never be satisfied with anything.
I came here for my mother’s birthday, and we had a really good time. We’re originally from South Florida and moved here in ’23, and it’s been hard to find really good Jamaican food. I was a little skeptical about how the food would taste, thinking it wouldn’t be that great—but boy, was I wrong! The food was on point!!! It tasted like real Jamaican food, not the bland stuff I’ve been getting. The music and vibes were great, too. We will definitely be coming back.
🔥food, 🔥 atmosphere and really good people who work/own the place. The one on scenic hwy is 🔥 too!! This spot specifically is just newer and bigger then scenic hwy. But for the most part you're definitely going to get what you pay for and more. O! I forgot to mention the women that work there are BEAUTIFUL!! lord have mercy!
The food ***chefs kiss*** This place is top tier! We celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday here and went back the very next night LOL. The first night we tried Jerk wings for an appetizer, the Rasta Pasta with Oxtails, and the Oxtail dinner, then the second night we had the Jerk Chicken and Brown Stew Chicken dinner. All the food was 10/10. I tried the Lemon Drop martini and the Lychee martini, both were good, but the Lychee martini was my favorite!! The staff was so kind, and the DJ kept the night lively. He was so energetic! Amazing night!!
The food is so good and the people are so nice and friendly!! We had oxtails, jam down spring rolls, Jerk Chicken Plantain nachos! Everything was delicious and flavorful we enjoyed and we will be back! UPDATE 1/17/26- we have been back at least twice and the food still is great. Still great customer service but now they added a comedy on Thursday so that was so much fun so we’ll be back again Escovitchez!!!
Some of the best jerk chicken I have EVA, ever had including IN Jamaica. SerVICE was ok. ServER was very nice. We waited a bit too long for our drinks. The saxophone player was VERY good and VERY, very loud. That said….my meal ALONE is deserving of 5 stars.
Enjoyed every minute of our visit on Sunday for brunch. Gorgeous atmosphere, hostess super welcoming, service was great even though they had a large birthday party in progress. We appreciated that they mentioned that it would be a team effort because of the party. We noticed no delays anyway. Food was delicious. They understand the Sunday morning assignment with cocktails and the in-house made Hawaiian-style bread for the table. It is life saving after a late Saturday night out to have food and water pretty much immediately. Will def come back for the evening experience. Decor vibe is island midcentury modern, ah yas, I'm here for it.
Visited on a Friday evening with my homegirl. Our server was Camille and she was fantastic. We tried the soursop margarita (with Don Julio) and it was delicious, well blended, and smooth. I ended up having two of them. The plantain nachos were the best tasting of the apps we got. Slightly overcooked but the flavor was evident. The restaurant is aesthetically beautiful. Much larger than the Snellville location. There was a live DJ on this night. My only suggestions would be: 1. A livelier atmosphere for a Friday night. 2. The staff cleaned the table next to us while we were eating and bleach was STRONG. I would switch to a fragrance free cleaner or wait until no one has their food out before wiping the tables down. I see a TON of potential for this location. Based off the food and service I would definitely go back.
The customer service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean and had a very modern design. As for the food, it was very satisfying. I didn’t really care for the jerk chicken spring rolls. They were not very flavorful. The jerk wings were on point. They were flavorful with just the right amount of spice and they were a very decent size. The rasta pasta was very, very delicious! It was flavorful and the creamy sauce was very smooth. The other people in my party had the braised oxtails & beans and found it to be delicious. All in all it was a very good dining experience.
I am Jamaican so I will always encourage and support Jamaican businesses. The lychee martini was very good Oxtail very good Ambience stunning and played homage to the island of Jamaica. Server: attentive and welcoming I’m interested to see how the company grows. If the owners want additional private feedback on areas to improve: I’m happy to chat!
This was on my list of places to check out. We were in the neighborhood so we came early around 4pm. I have visited the Snellville location and there is no comparison. Food was delicious and so was the service. The atmosphere would be great for a girl's dinner to catch up, which would be hopefully on my next visit. We asked for our seats to be moved as the dinner area was not opened and to much sun where we seated at first. There is live music on the wkend so definitely check out this venue. Plenty of parking.
My hubby and I had date night here! Upon walking in I was pleasantly surprised! I’m assuming it’s the owner (female) she was very sweet and welcomed us and checked on us to ensure we were good! Hubby had jerk chicken w/rice & peas and I had stew chicken with rice and peas! Overall we give a 8/10!! The server was very attentive and the DJ did his thing! Definitely will be coming back and would highly recommend. Wishing this establishment much success and blessings!
I went to this restaurant to celebrate my mother’s birthday, with a party of 10. I asked the waitress if she was able to hold the cake in the back until end of dinner and she asked if I was aware of the cake cutting fee, which was $25. I told her I was not asking for them to cut or share the cake for me, I was doing that myself. I was told it didn’t matter. To have a cake in the establishment, there was a fee but if I wanted, I can still light the candle to sing happy birthday. That rubbed me the wrong way. I felt like every time you find a nice black establishment, they tack on unnecessary fees to push away customers. The cake didn’t even cost me $25. If I revisit this restaurant, it will definitely not be for a bday celebration.
In a nut shell, the sevice was bad, vegetarian options were disappointing, and although the saxophone players was very good, it was loud and we couldn't hear each other's conversation. Was excited to try this restaurant for the first time, but due to the loooong wait for service and food, sorry this will be my last visit. My dish was Calypso Cauliflower, definable nothing Calypso about it, more like sweet and sour Cauliflower.
Tasting Caribbean food for the first time was a delightful and new experience. The place is lovely, making it an ideal spot for dinner and celebrations.
The service wasn't as good as it should have been because we waited an hour and 15 minutes and the food wasn't hot. We were strung along by 2 managers who lied about checking on the food was coming right out and when it finally did it wasn't hot. Dwight Samuel the owner was not very considerate and dismissed our complaints and passed it off as nothing. Nor did he offer any resolution or accommodation. My friend opt out to return because of the lack of customer service
Tonight, January 10, 2026 I decided to visit this establishment and my service was horrible. We sat at the bar there for 15 minutes or so before the bartender by the name of Barbie decided to acknowledge us and give us menus. But I noticed how she was this all over the place someone would ask for something she will start doing something else and not give them their drinks. They had to wait a while before they got their drinks. She was talking, laughing, dancing singing, everything else except for Servicing, the customers that was sitting at the bar. The person next to me had to ask her for a shot three different times before he even got it. I was at the bar sitting there at least two hours before she even asked me if I wanted another drink or anything. I noticed every time someone asked her for something. She wind up doing something else before she got their drinks. I asked for my bill she printed it out was holding it in her hand on her phone. I had to ask the other bartender hey can you please get my bill from her so I can pay she had to tap Barbie on the shoulder and let her know hey she want her bill and even after the other bartender told her that I want my bill I still had to wait till she was finished strolling on her phone to get it. When I tell you a horrible bartender just horrible.
My job had our Christmas lunch here Friday 12.5.25. I recommended this restaurant. A co worker previously visited. The food was good service was decent. What was disappointing is my co worker ordered 4 plates TO GO. They charged her a gratuity of $37. We all ask why it’s to go. I have heard of service charges but not gratuity on a to go. We were told that’s their policy. Although we enjoyed ourselves. I WII NEVER REFER ANOTHER AGAIN.
I attended a birthday dinner at Escovitchez; this was my 1st time eating there. I am vegan, so I looked at the menu online before going & there were a few vegan options. I ordered the veggie platter with fried cauliflower/rice & peas/fried plantain/broccolini & carrots. The cauliflower was heavily breaded/the carrots were not steamed/the rice & peas was not good and the plantain had a weird aftertaste. The staff was extremely courteous & attentive, and the restaurant atmosphere is decent. But...the food was not good & it's overpriced.
I gave overall two stars due to food being lukewarm warm, we had the jerk chicken egg rolls great taste but just warm not like freshly cooked, ordered the jerk chicken (cold) and the oxtails and beans and literally a piece of potato and the meat was not tender. Even though served in a skillet it was just warm. You would think in a skillet it would have some type of steam. The flavor was just ok. Ordered a lemon drop martini that was tasty. The food was Definitely not worth the money spent. We have visited the Snellvile location numerous times, and decided to just stick to that location for overall quality. The atmosphere here is beautiful, however the seating is tight for how spacious this location is, be prepared to hear your neighbors full conversation. The waitress was on point, even with it being Valentine's day they were not overly busy, which is why I was surprised by the food being lackluster.
I went here with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately the entire experience was disappointing from start to finish. Even though we had a reservation, we still waited about 30 minutes to be seated while being told our table was “being cleaned.” Once we were finally seated, things didn’t get any better. Our server seemed completely out of it — slow, unengaged, barely checked on us, and even got parts of our order wrong. We ended up waiting over an hour for our food, which was especially frustrating since the dishes were just okay once they arrived. Overall, it was a terrible experience for my birthday dinner, and I truly expected much better. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for a special occasion.
I was disappointed with the service we received at escovitchez today. We made reservations for a party of nine. The wait time to get our food was long, and when it came, it was cold. Additionally, our waiter was the worst. He did not checked in on us. He didn’t seem interest in serving us and worst of all, our bill was overcharged. On a positive note, the restaurant is beautiful. The ambiance is nice and DJ was the highlight of the evening.
I drove from Marietta with my friend to try this restaurant for our first time and the young lady at front desk stated they were not taking walk ins today on MLK holiday. She stated they had a party of 30 coming in and they could only cook us something to go. So disappointed to make 23 mile drive to try this restaurant for first time and being told they are not taking walk ins around 11:40 am. I never ever been told that from a restaurant in my life! Peace on earth!
Disappointing Birthday Experience!!! We had a 7:00 PM reservation at EscovitcheZ in Atlanta and arrived at 7:05 PM, yet it still took about 15 minutes for us to be seated. The hostess was unwelcoming and attempted to seat us in a very tight, inconvenient area next to a large party, which made the experience uncomfortable from the start. It also was not a busy evening, so the delay and seating choice were even more frustrating. This visit was especially disappointing because it was my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, nothing about the experience felt celebratory. We didn’t see a waitress until around 7:50 PM—almost 45 minutes later—when she finally asked if we wanted water and took our order. There was no introduction, and we never received the complimentary bread. We ordered two appetizers. The shrimp was good, but the ackee egg roll was bland and mostly filled with roll rather than ackee. For our entrées, we had the oxtail with rice and peas and the escovitch snapper with bammy. Both dishes were underseasoned and lacked flavor. The oxtail was tough and tasteless, and the fish only had flavor because of the pickled peppers. Overall, the service was slow and unwelcoming, and the food did not meet expectations. What should have been a special birthday dinner turned into a very disappointing experience.
My goal was to celebrate my birthday with friends and family at this restaurant that my husband and I had patronized last month. I like everything about this restaurant except management who pulled a fast one by giving my reserved area to another group. Supposedly this group booked after me and since they planned an “event” (which requires payment of thousands up front and buffet style food) our reservation which I checked several times in advance was handed over. I was hoping to promote this restaurant by inviting the folks that came - pod cast host, scientists, and others of influence in Atlanta. Just to be clear, I do not think anyone is above anyone else. When I was originally told that my group had not booked the correct way, I thanked the manager and told her that I would consider coming another time. She encouraged me to book for 15 and then get 2 additional tables in the names of other guests in my party. That way we would at least have one long table with spill over to the other tables. I agreed to that and made all appropriate arrangements. One of the spillover tables was in my son’s name. The last time I checked the reservation the day before the dinner, I was told that I had 2 reservations in my name. They put my son’s in my name which was a set up to make it look as though I had not followed the reservation party size rules. In stead of making a big deal out of it, I asked the managers to just apologize for the different seating arrangement that was offered. She simply reminded me of the large party rules and rolled her eyes at me. That is called breaking a verbal contract. In my world, your word is your bond! Upon leaving, my husband showed me a charge of $25 for having the restaurant put my cake in the fridge. A different manager told me that is the cost of cutting the cake. I told him that I cut the cake. He said, anyway that is standard in all restaurants. In any case I won’t be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone. No one should be treated disrespectfully. Dr Imani Ma’at Kynes
The food here was good, but the overall experience was unacceptable. Preston and his supervisor Doralee failed to bring out the cake after 3 request and no apology and still charged the cake cutting fee, and when I returned the next day to speak with the manager, she was dismissive and showed no concern. Preston also made an inappropriate comment about “this is how black establishments are,” which was offensive and unprofessional. He mentioned he had only been there four weeks and that “tomorrow” was his last day. While the food itself was fine, the service, management, and staff behavior were extremely poor. I will not return and do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. On 12/13/25 collectively spent over 600 dollars at this table for crappy unprofessional service! Left restaurant on 12-14-25 with no resolution other than Doralee provided me the email to the owner.
If you have the time to waste and don’t care if your party eats together, wait over 30 min for a drink, almost 2 hours for your food, then this is the perfect spot for you! The food does taste good but not waiting 2 hours good. Management didn’t seem to care for having us wait this long. Not a free dessert or an apology even. Overall, horrible experience as when half the table got their food, the other half of the party was done with theirs so we just got boxes to go since food took so long. Everyone was already disappointed and appetite gone. Would not recommend.
