Opiniones de Blind Pig Austin
Best decision to have dinner here. Everything we ordered was yumm.. Lamb chops: the best lamb chops I ever had! Salmon and beef was amazing as well. They were pretty generous with us, the cook threw in a salad too which was again super tasty and there was bread n butter made inhouse that was fresh and amazing. The ambiance The girl who served us was so friendly and helping us pick what to eat and all.. really nice experience Location is great too. It's nesting in middle of bars and clubbing area. A must go place! I think the cook rocks Whatever they will cook would be super tasty!
I was raised in a small town. This brought my city life and country life together. Comfort food that is satisfying but not making me feel stuffed. Gorgeous atmosphere great place to hold a conversation with people you cherish.
My husband and I came here for Happy Hour and we're currently asking ourselves WHY did we wait so long??!! Sunday-Friday you can get 1/2off select cocktails, beers and foods and the menu is pretty inclusive of what they offer!! To be honest I'm confused on why the ratings at Parkside are so low. In our first time experience here everything was super yummy and the service was also fabulous! Nico was incredibly attentive and did a fantastic job in his recommendations! We ordered every food item off their happy hour menu and while it was all tasty the standouts were definitely the fresh oysters, 7oz burger, the ceviche (was salmon and bass) and the tartare! The egg sandwich was also really tasty, the crab fritters were tasty, but much lighter and airy than expected. The subbed the fries for the grilled sweet potato and holy crap that dish was a game changer!!! Off the regular menu we ordered the lamb pastrami ribs which were very tasty and tender with a nice crisp. We couldn't finish without dessert and are so glad that we got the candy bar dessert! You can't go wrong with anything here and definitely gotta come back for dinner! Do yourself a favor and be sure to check them out ASAP!
Great food. I had salmon and fries. Lol it's a bad habit. Eat healthy but can't pass up the fries here. Cake was good too.
Such a treat! Parkside happy hour selections are fantastic! We were there to celebrate a birthday and were comped lamb ribs and dessert. Thank you for the generosity, we look forward to returning!
This was a work related gathering and the place did impress. The food was outstanding, the service was also very on point, and the atmosphere was pretty good, butnthe diningbwas segmented and small. The parking was disastrous.
This place was amazing. It wasn’t crowded for a Saturday evening, perfect location on 6th street. The food and cocktails were the best we’ve had in a long time. Cucumber & tomato salad 👌🏼, French fries 💣 For cocktails we had old fashioneds and Rockford Peaches!!!! Would highly recommend!
There wasn't a single thing on the menu (from the 10 dishes tried) that we didn't like. Each menu item was done quite well. I really enjoyed the striped bass, Cod, and chocolate dessert the most!
A great spot. Food was delicious. We had the bacon cheeseburger, tri tip, butter lettuce salad, and a side of mac n cheese. Anthony took great care of us at the bar! Bonus is the happy hour until 6p on the weekdays!
Happy hour offers the best drink and food prices! I reccomend everything on the happy hour menu we tried everything! And the pretzel a few times! Martinis were excellent! And so was our service!
My wife and I found this place on our walk back from our hotel. We were greeted with amazing customer service and sat promptly at their bar, as requested. The service was some of the best I’ve had. They had a fantastic authentic gumbo special and the oysters were delicious. At the end, they let us sample their king cake! Jill was fanatic behind the bar. Everyone in the restaurant appeared to have been having just as much fun as well. Highly recommend and we plan on returning there to eat before our trip ends!
6th St post Thanksgiving was a delight! Quieter than usual, we were thrilled to find Parkside. Sat at the bar & it was perfect!! Their Happy Hour from 5-6 was AWESOME! Half off all drinks & 4 of their top selling appies was perfect! Nico was behind the bar: Friendly, professional & gave the perfect suggestion for my palate. My husband loved his Oysters & Lamb with the WA Hedges Cab & Still Rye from Austin & I ADORED my Austrian Buchegger Riesling with the Ceviche. Fresh, balanced & tasty... we'll definitely be back.
The night I went to Blind Pig was just what I needed to experience 6th street! The rooftop deck with amazing views of the Austin skyline is perfection. The deck has a huge TV upstairs and arcade games. Even though it was a Monday night, it was lively! They had a band playing and their energy was captivating. This place is a must when you’re in town!
After an exhausting workday, I went to the Sixth Street of downtown Austin to escape from life for a while. I was attacked by the live music from the second-floor balcony of the Blind Pig Pub and decided to follow the sound. As I stepped inside, the lively atmosphere and twinkling string lights overhead instantly lifted my mood. The spacious open-air layout offers great ventilation, while the mix of rustic wood and industrial elements gives the place a classic Austin charm. Inside, the bar features a long countertop lined with televisions playing sports, making it a good hangout spot for game nights. A live band plays at the far end of the balcony stage, energizing the crowd. From my seat, I could see people laughing, drinking, and singing along, all while framed by the downtown skyline peeking through the open structure. What makes the Blind Pig stand out is its mix of entertainment—arcade basketball machines, punching bag games, and even a photobooth-style room in a neon-trimmed pod. This place blends dive bar grittiness with vibrant nightlife energy. Whether you’re bar-hopping or staying for a few rounds and some games, the Blind Pig offers a memorable and unapologetically Austin experience.
Really good spot for drinks, spent about 20 bucks on 3 drinks. Which is good considering they didn’t taste watered down. We were able to get a table upstairs where the live music was playing. Great spot. Plenty of cool games upstairs towards the back.
We were there on a Saturday and Chandler and the Bings were playing in the rooftop. What a great time! 90s rock music and a great atmosphere. Everyone was having a fun time and the crowd was friendly. Bar service was speedy and for sure we'll come back! The bar is much bigger than what it looks from the outside.
Had an awesome experience here. Great live music. The band even brought up one of the bar patrons randomly and he was an excellent addition. The drinks were typical of a bar and decently priced. Cool space and all the bartenders were polite and helpful. Great spot for a few drinks and potentially dancing if you go at the right time.
Awesome happy hour deals! Sun-Fri 5-6 PM 1/2 off cocktails, beer, wine glasses; 1/2 off select menu items (east coast oysters, beef tartare, ceviche, crab fritters, USDA prime bacon cheeseburger). Greta ambiance. Downtown street parking. We especially liked the cheeseburger, crab fritters, and beef tartare. Outside of the happy hour menu, I recommend the endive salad (so good with apples, nuts, and dressing) and caramel pear tart for dessert.
Tried Parkside for dinner on East 6th and it’s a good pick if you want something a little nicer but still relaxed. The raw bar is the move here—oysters were fresh and the mignonette options made it fun to mix things up. Cocktails were solid, and the dining room has that brick-and-wood downtown vibe that works for a date or catching up with friends.
No wait for us, there were two barstools available, otherwise it would have been about 25 minutes. The food was very good, the service from the bartender was good. I left no additional tip, due to the 20% service fee added to the bill. I hope that goes into the tip pool, if not, do better by your servers and customers. The prices are high enough, 20% service fee is defeating the purpose, if it is a tip...I would have left more than that, if not forced to pay it.
Went to Blind Pig Pub on East 6th and it’s a great “downtown night out” kind of place. The rooftop is the main reason to come—plenty of space, good views, and it feels more open than most bars in the area. Inside is loud and lively with music going most nights, so it’s best if you’re looking for energy, not a quiet chat. Drinks are solid and the staff was moving fast, but expect lines when it’s packed.
We didn't eat here so I didn't rate that. Just came for a beer and the live music. Music was good. Beer selection was okay. Enjoyed sitting up on the top deck in the cool night air listening to the band play! Stop in if that sounds good to you!
It’s a great pub with great vibe. The crowd is somewhere in their 20s-40s, that don’t leave the bar not until 1am lol. They have a great live rock band every night . You can enjoy great beers snd cocktails with great music. They also have a pizza bar in the rooftop. The bartenders are very friendly, too.
Some of the food here was hit and miss. The macaroni lacked flavor. The squash and salmon were really fantastic. However, compared to other reviews and photos I saw. The portions for the entrees given to us were a lot smaller on Valentine’s Day for the same price. That was a let down. Also while everyone was nice, we were seated very closely to other people. All in all, based on my experience it seemed this business is more interested in turning tables and serving less portions for the same prices. Don’t think I’d return.
Fancy Dining here so it's definitely kind of pricey but some dishes are nice. If you ever decide to dine here, you can get the following: Beef Tartare - It's interesting how they added a tortilla chip as the base. Gives a good crunch to the raw beef Marinated Pork Blade Steak - Found this very tender and filling. Something you can savor. Some things to avoid: Corn - Totally not worth it and hard to eat Lamb Pastrami Ribs - They made it a bit too salty and meat is slightly tough
Super disappointing Valentine’s experience. We chose Parkside because we recently rented the event space upstairs for our wedding, and were truly blown away. I’m not sure where the lines got blurred, but our recent dinner experience was everything but smooth. Our 6:30 reservation was not honored, we finally managed a table about 30 minutes after that. Once seated, it took about 20 minutes to get seen. Thankfully my husband managed to order me a drink from the bar. Once our server came around, we put in our complete order from the Valentine’s menu. We received our oysters about an hour after seating and nothing else. The server never came around again, no management came to speak to us, we never even had the opportunity to know what was going on. After voicing this to a person running food, she simply dismissed our concern and told us the restaurant would cover our oysters. No hospitality, resolution or explanation. Mind-blowing bummer.
I got the lamb ribs and I didn’t like the sauce on top. It was too herb taste So if you don’t like intense herb flavor ask the sauce on the side. I ordered the salmon and it came with a green sauce and I didn’t like it either and the salmon didn’t even had salt or pepper it was plain . The worst part was to wait for our food 1 hour 30 min.
Our reservation was at 730pm and we arrived at 710pm. Got seated fairly quickly then it took awhile for someone to take our drink order. Another 20 mins goes by and finally someone takes our order. Afterwards they tried 3 separate tikes to brings us other people orders. Our food arrives after the 2 couples seated after us already had their food. My wife's food came 10 minute before my steak. When my steak arrived almpst blue rare(ordered medium) I was done and ready to leave. Food arrived an hour after we first checked in. Other only table we could find last minute on Valentines Day was at a Saltgrass location and ended up have a great time there.
I had a horrible experience at The Blind Pig today. I stopped by, in a group of three people. One of our friends is a person of color who is visiting Austin from overseas. There is a bartender (I wish I had thought to ask his name; I was honestly too gobsmacked by his behavior to think clearly) who was working the bar that's directly across from the front doors. He's a white dude, probably in his late 30s/early 40s. He was so overtly racist and sexist toward my friend that that the rest of us were essentially speechless. He acted annoyed with her from the moment she started interacting with him. Based on the way he was looking at her, the tone he used with her, and how short he was with her, you would have thought she was inconveniencing him to an extreme degree. You may also have thought she was being rude towards him. This was not at all the case; she was literally asking him about her drink options. She had never been to this bar before; it was her first time in Austin. I know he wasn't treating other guests this way- there were people sitting around the bar, and they certainly would not have done this had he been directing the same sort of behavior toward them. Amongst several of his comments was one to the effect of, "The drinks you can get here are beer or mixed drinks. If you don't get a beer, your drink will be served to you in a plastic cup." I wish I could better share in this post the way he was speaking to and looking at her. He was talking down to her and being so incredibly disrespectful. The intonation of his speech reminded me of how adults will speak to spoiled children when they've reached the end of their patience. As a friend who was present, I wish I had done and said more to be a better ally. I was so taken aback by this abhorrent behavior that I honestly froze. Something I want to make sure to convey to the management of The Blind Pig: This guy treated a fellow human being this way in public, while at his place of employment. Imagine how he may treat people to whom he apparently feels superior when he thinks no one else is watching. I frankly don't want to think about it. He was an entitled racist, and I don't feel comfortable bringing anyone to this establishment anymore. I'm mortified.
Racist. Just left there today around 3-4pm. I came in with 2 of my female friends. Were there to have our first drink of the day. Downstairs bartender, tall, white, bald on top (note I'm short, white, bald) was racist towards her. Insulted my dark skinned friend, who was visiting from overseas, and was insanely rude. He was short with her when she was asking questions about her order. He acted annoyed with her, immediately. He wasn’t treating other patrons this way- there were other people sitting around the bar. At one point, he was totally condescending and rude, cutting her off as she was asking about what she could order, and said something to the effect of, “Your drink will either be a beer or a mixed drink. If not a beer, it will come in a plastic cup.” Based on that, you would have thought she had been impossibly rude to him. She had literally just asked what cocktails she may be able to order. I informed the bouncer and the other bartender upstairs. They were apologetic and made it better. I wish I had acted better/more quickly but was completely caught off guard. My friend felt not safe the way he was talking to her. She wanted to say she thought Austin was better than that. Insanely uncomfortable. Not the highlight of downtown I wanted to show.
