Loved the General Tso chicken! I requested white meat instead of dark meat. This is the best I've ever had!
🍜 China Cafe I don’t write reviews often, but when I do, it’s because a place deserves it — and China Cafe absolutely does. As someone who’s lived in New York City and New Jersey, I know what real, authentic Chinese food tastes like. Since moving to Texas, I’ve tried Chinese food in Atlanta, Phoenix City, Houston, and multiple spots here in Austin… and nothing came close. Until this place. China Cafe is the closest I’ve had to that authentic, back-up-north flavor. The food is rich, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and straight-up mouth-watering. You can genuinely taste the passion in it. It doesn’t feel rushed or commercial — it feels like someone back there actually cares about what they’re cooking. I usually get takeout (sometimes DoorDash), and let me tell you — it’s always hot, fresh, and still absolutely delicious when I get home. That first bite? Instant nostalgia. It takes me right back to NYC/NJ Chinese spots. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is clean, calm, and not overly noisy. Parking is easy. The whole experience just feels smooth and comfortable. And let me be clear — I am not a paid reviewer. I’m just a real person who appreciates great food. If you’re from up north and miss that authentic Chinese flavor, or if you just want some genuinely bomb, flavorful food — this is the spot. Worth the drive. Worth the vibe. 100% bomb.com delicious. 🔥🍜
10/10 beef and broccoli absolutely divine. Tender beef, crisp broccoli. Crap rangoons 9/10. Fried rice super fresh and fresh crisp vegetables. The best Chinese I’ve had since I moved to texas
China Café: The Reliable Hero of Weeknight Cravings China Café has been our long‑running takeout MVP—always dependable, always delicious, the culinary equivalent of that friend who never flakes. But this week, we took things to the next level: we actually dined in. And let me tell you, China Café did not blink. It simply flexed. We walked in and were greeted immediately, seated before we could even finish saying “table for two.” The service was so attentive it almost felt like they’d been waiting for us specifically—like we were the season finale of their evening. We kicked things off with an egg roll and crab rangoon. The egg roll was the quiet kid in class—polite, behaved, didn’t say much. But the crab rangoon? That was the extrovert who shows up and instantly becomes everyone’s favorite. Creamy, crispy, and exactly what you want it to be. My wife ordered the vegetable and beef over steamed rice, and I went for the beef lo mein. Both dishes arrived fast, hot, and in portions so generous I briefly wondered if they’d mistaken us for a family of four. Nothing makes you feel like you got your money’s worth quite like a plate that could double as a small mountain. The dining room surprised us too. Clean, calm, and just upscale enough that you feel like you made a good life choice by eating there instead of inhaling takeout in the car. Bottom line: China Café continues its undefeated streak. Whether you’re grabbing food to go or sitting down for the full experience, this is where you go for fast, tasty, consistently satisfying Chinese comfort food that hits every single time.
I absolutely love China Cafe, this place holds a special place in my heart. I've been coming here for over 12 years and it's always been such a gem. Such great food and portions for how affordable it's always been, and has a really nice aesthetic inside. I really cherish the time in my youth that I used to just be able to walk over here from my apartment and get something really decent to eat when I didn't have much to spend. So glad to see China Cafe is still open. Thanks y'all!
Quiet and relaxing atmosphere, incredibly attentive staff and the food is to die for! We tried this place two years ago and it continues to be the same quality on all aspects. Decent prices with how much food you ge as well. I'm honestly surprised this place isn't overwhelmed with people but you owe it to yourself to give it a shot!!

I went in this morning got kung pao chicken, lunch special. The egg roll was Crispy Crunchy on the outside and soft and yummy on the inside. Kung pao chicken I substituted no celery and no bell peppers for mushrooms and broccoli. It was delicious! Spicy just how I like it. However, the lunch special with a coke cost me $21 + tip...🙄 I would definitely recommend
Delicious. 2 lunch specials $27 they come with an entree, soup and egg roll Sweet and sour chicken w fried rice chose wonton soup, chx and sauce was great too Veggie lo mein perfection nicely chopped, so tasty. Wonton soup was really great and they have the good soy sauce packets
Absolutely fire! Just had the Mongolian beef and sesame chicken — both were packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and came out hot and fresh. The portions were great, and the sauce on the sesame chicken was spot on. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely coming back. Hidden gem in Lakeline! 🔥
This place is a treasure! The food is such high-quality. My wife and I usually go at lunch and the cost is $13 per person, which includes the main meal along with your choice of rice, and eggroll, and soup of your choice. I’ll attach a photo. This place needs to get busier and stay busy because it would be a shame for them to go out of business when they serve such fantastic food!
Quiet day to myself had me venturing inside China Cafe for table service. Started with a Shirley Temple, not bad but no cool garnishments even though there was a bar; then ordered Pot Stickers for an appetizer. Pot stickers were pork only and lightly pan fried just the way I prefer and 8 came on a bed of shredded cabbage with spicy soy for dipping. Meal was Sweet & Sour Chicken which came with stream white rice and no egg roll so I ordered 4 to complete my meal. All very tasteful and juicy with plenty to take home. I would absolutely recommend this place for dine-in or take out.
I ordered from DoorDash because I was craving Chinese food and trusted the reviews. The food is absolutely wonderful!! The steamed dumplings were Perfectly done and the accompanying dip sauce had just enough spice to it that made it wonderful. I hurried up and took the pictures because I can’t wait to eat!! But I wanted to give an excellent recommendation to the quality of the food. I highly recommend.
My fiance suggested this place and I'm glad he did. Not only was the food good the atmosphere was elegant. I really enjoyed the great customer service from the sweet kind lady that took our order. I can't want to go back and dine in and take in the beautiful decor and surroundings. Thank you China Cafe.
China cafe used to be reliable and consistent, but it has been in decline. After today, I will never eat here again. The sesame chicken in the picture was 1/4 chicken and 3/4 fried mushy bread. It was absolutely disgusting! I was using a fork and knife to try and find the chicken inside by pulling the bread away.
Okay this place is a joke. I went in order kung pao chicken and literally waited 32 minutes for my to go order. They are slow as molasses and customer service there is poor. $19 it cost me with an 18% tip for a Kung Pao chicken lunch. So many other places to go around here why waste your money here
We ordered chicken wontons, and one of them tasted awful; I think the chicken was spoiled. We also ordered fried rice, and it was tasteless. Then we ordered shrimp with cashews, but the shrimp weren't fresh. When we told the waitress, she made a funny face and still charged us. In short, the food and service were terrible.👎🏻
I ordered sesame chicken and it was absolutely terrible, super dark and gooey! I also ordered Wonton soup and received something I had never seen at any restaurant. Furthermore, utensils and napkins missing!
I went here for dinner — the food was good, but the experience was disappointing because of the service. The server was polite at first, but after we paid the bill and had already left a tip, she repeatedly asked for more, saying she had a low salary. We felt uncomfortable and ended up giving additional money just to avoid an awkward situation. I don’t think it’s appropriate for staff to pressure customers for extra tips. Also, I couldn’t find a manager or owner on site to address this issue immediately. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and ensures a better experience for future customers.
Order $90 worth of food via Doordaah. Food was all bland and predomint color was brown. No other flavor but soy sauce. i ordered salt and pepper calamari. it came looking like very thin oily spaghetti. Odd way to prepare calamari. Tasted old and frozen. Fried rice had no flavor except soy sauce it was brown. Beef with pepper- cheap cut of beef. Again brown with no flavor Something other calamari dish that was mostly bland with barely any calamari
