Opiniones de China Hill Austin
I got the beef and chicken fried rice. It's always so much more than I can eat in one sitting. I love it!
By far my favorite Chinese take out. The best crab Rangoon, great egg rolls too. The portions are large and the food is always fresh and delicious.
best hole in the wall chinese place they are super nice and food comes out perfect everytime try the cream cheese rangoons they are to die for!
This place is great; cheap, fast, and cool cashiers too. Happy to have a new lunch/dinner spot
A once a month must in our home. - sesame chicken extra spicy combo egg drop soup - general tso extra spicy combo hot & sour soup - 8 chicken wings for the kid The chicken wings are really really good. I’ve been eating here for nearly 10 years and the quality and price are always fantastic
Wow. This is a huge meal at a great price. It's cooked excellent and it's delicious! The sweet and sour chicken is large pieces of chicken with the thin crispy batter. This was my first meal at this restaurant. I am very impressed with the quality of food and the service. Carry-out order and it was very fast. Beef broccoli was excellent. The beef is tender. The broccoli and carrots are fresh and crisp. The Mongolian beef was excellent. Tender beef onions and mushrooms with the spicy sauce. This restaurant is excellent.
Absolutely best crispy egg rolls in town. Some of the best fried rice if ever had. The sesame chicken was really good too. *Update* 7/18/20 I still like this place but I would stay away from the Mongolian chicken. Tried it today and was very disappointed. The sauce was super runny. After I ate the dish, I was left with half a cup of watery sauce.
Lo Mein is a Chinese dish with noodles that comes with celery, bean sprouts, broccoli, snow peas, mushroom, carrot, green beans, thick yellow soft noodle, and ingredient of your choice. I got only meat, bean sprouts and noodles. None of the other vegetables listed. I also asked for sweet and sour sauce which I didn't get.
Great little place kind of off the beaten path. It has survived and been in the same location for over 25 years, so I think that speaks volumes for its food quality. I I have never had the slightest disappointment in its food. It was take out only, but they now are open again for restaurant dining.
Very decent Chinese food. I've been ordering and picking up food from this place occasionally over the last few years. They give very nice portion sizes and the food is always good. They make pretty decent Egg Foo Young, which is usually a good way to judge a place. Recently they fixed and cleaned up the restaurant nicely. Although you can eat in, they will serve in to-go packaging, so I've never eaten in. I'll be ordering from them again.
Friendly staff, but the food was super under seasoned, everything tasted a little off. The reviews looked good so we tried it out, maybe they just had an off night? With so many choices around I probably won’t go back, but good luck!
Ordered garlic vegetable dish, tofu vermicelli, and crab Rangoon ( cheese puffs.)… The garlic vegetable dish was super sweet, and there was so much sweet juice that it spilled all over the bag and all over everything else in the bag. The vegetables were overcooked, which was unsettling because most people that order vegetable plates or them because they want fresh vegetables. The crab puffs cream cheese things looks like they were made by a toddler, which is fine. They can really look like anything as long as the flavor is there which it absolutely wasn’t. There was nothing seasoning The cream cheese. It was literally just cream cheese and dough. The vermicelli tofu was literally just that as well, tofu and noodles. I used to come to China Hill a few years ago and stopped coming for what reason I didn’t remember. I guess now I remember why. My suggestion is to drive the extra 5 to 10 minutes to whatever other restaurant that you were contemplating before coming to this place
Ask Amy Review: China Hill — I Am Still Flabbergasted 🤯🥡📞 I called China Hill to place a simple lunch order and somehow entered the Twilight Zone. I swear I lost brain cells talking to Kayla. This is not satire… unfortunately. 😐 Let’s break down this absolute circus: • 📞 Ordered Kung Pao Chicken LUNCH (You know… the meal 🥣🥟 not a philosophical concept) • 🧠 Kayla had zero clue what the equivalent lunch order was Like this was advanced calculus, not her own menu 🤦♀️ • 🍗 She offered just the chicken No soup. No sides. Just vibes. • 😮 Then she had an “oh…” moment (The lights flickered, but nobody was home 💡🚫) • 🥣 Still couldn’t grasp that LUNCH = SOUP INCLUDED • 🥟 Then came the egg roll disaster: • pork egg roll order comes with 2 egg rolls • She assumed that because there are 2 in an order, I must only want ONE • Not one order… TWO ORDERS • I repeat: TWO. ORDERS. 🔊 • Math was absolutely not mathing 🧮🔥 • 🥡 And let’s not forget… this is mainly a TO-GO place, yet somehow: • ❓ “Do you need silverware with your to-go order?” • Ma’am… I am not eating Kung Pao Chicken with my hands like it’s medieval times 🥢🤨 My honest reaction: • 😳 Flabbergasted • 😵 Confused • 🤯 Mentally exhausted • 🧠 IQ visibly dropping mid-call Ask Amy Verdict: If you’re answering phones, please—PLEASE—know your own menu. Ordering lunch should not feel like explaining fire to a caveman. The food might be edible, but the phone experience? Straight-up tragic. 🚨📞💀
I'm going to tbh I use to go to this restaurant over 7 years i was a regular. But move out of the area so don't have them regular. I'm disappointed to say the food is not what it was. It has to much oil and has no taste like there's no seasoning. They remodel the restaurant i think there's new owner so I guess they changed the way they cook the food. Will try again but sad to say not good.
Walked in today and was barely acknowledged (I’m black American). Not one staff member was friendly or welcoming. The space is not clean and what I ordered was very bland. The egg foo young is not served with gravy like the typical restaurant, it’s basically served with some type of garlic soy sauce. I do not recommend this place at all. The chicken wings were decent but still huge and unflavored. Would’ve felt more comfortable giving my money to this place had I been welcomed
No taste. First and last time to order. It’s the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant, even worse than fast food. They have a sign on the door saying everything will be served in plastic containers. The cashier said the same thing. I thought they’re just cheap. Then the menus are all at the cashier place. We had to order right away right there. Now I know they are lazy. It was so awkward to look at the big menu and decide. We ordered and waited. It was fast. When we got home, every single dish had no taste. I don’t understand how could they do such a bad job even with soy sauce. My husband threw up right away after taking a bite of the sesame chicken cause there was no taste. My seafood plate, the scallop and crab tasted not cooked. The scallop texture was too soft. We both had weird sick feelings after taking several bites. What a waste of food and money. How can someone cook such bad food and doing a business? Adding this review hopefully to show the true rating. Stay away guys.
I will never ever ever order from this place again. Customer service sucked really bad. The lady that took my complaint order was really nice. I ordered chicken lo mein which I’m about to send you a picture so you can see what it look like and ordered Sesame beef, horrible, horrible food never ordered from this place. Under cooked chicken and the Beef A very disappointment
Definitely one of the worse places I've gone for Chinese food. Ordered beef lo mein, wonton soup, pan fried noodles and crab Rangoons. The only thing edible was the crab Rangoons and soup. Large wonton soup had about 6 won tons and nothingggg else. The crab rangoons were nice and crispy, but had a faint taste of fish oil. The most disappointing was the pan fried noodles, the noodles were so stale that even soaking them in the beef, chicken mixture didn't help. They were gross and thick and tasted old. The sauce the protein came in was super sweet. I stayed away from the sweet and sour specifically because I didn't want anything sweet. Omg even the fortune cookies that my kids were excited about were stale. If a 4 yr old can tell you it tastes weird you know something is wrong. One star because the lady taking my order was very sweet. Unfortunately I will not be coming back or recommending. Oh and take out only.
