Lots of different shops and restaurants catering to the heavily Asian clientele in the area. The MT supermarket has a very broad selection of imported goods from Southeast Asia. There are some live fish/lobsters at the supermarket as well as some whole fish on ice. The home goods section has energy kitchen utensil you could need.
Lots of great shop and restaurants here. Then there's MT....incredibly cool supermarket. I've never seen so many noodles! Needless to say, I think we need to ditch the regular "Ramen" and try some of their offerings!
This place is AMAZING. This is the largest Asian super market that I have ever seen. It has endless bottles, cans, boxes, of every kind of seasoning, spice, fish paste, soy sauce, cooking wine from China, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Vietnam etc. Basically if you're looking for it, you should find it. It's packed with fresh produce (seafood, meats and vegetables), plus lots of frozen items and dried ingredients. There is so much to choose from. Definitely worth stopping by!!!
Asian vegetables are the most popular and the best. By the way no bag for you. Bring your own bag if not they provide box. Don't worry!!
Combination of Chinese and Vietnamese, but good Asian mall, I never failed to enjoy myself here. Authentic business joints, chill and value oriented.
love the annual Lunar New Year event!
I took my sister to this place cause we live out of town. It is awesome. You can find everything you need here in one place. We are coming back here for sure.
Best Asian plaza in the city. Great food all around with quality service and authentic cuisine
This market is excellent. You can get all the ingredients for your favorite Asian meals.
Excellent prices and comfortable varieties, an excellent place to know and try the food culture of another country
Love all the pho,fried duck,porklets..mummmm
I LOVE THIS PLACE. I BUY VEGETABLES, SEAFOOD AND MUCH MORE
My favorite Asain supermarket. Its a bit of a distance for me but worth the trip
This is an excellent market if you want to buy seafood and pork at very affordable prices, and of very good quality, with all the products retaining their natural flavor. The staff provides excellent service and works very quickly.
To me, the trust phoe place to go. There are alot of other places that sell phoe but This is where I go. Flavor is good and plenty of you need. Great for a cold day.
Chinatown prepares great quality Chinese cuisine and provides great hospitality while keeping a clean environment. While dining at Chinatown we also ordered from Street sushi from downstairs simultaneously. Both, great quality food, delicious! We enjoyed having Chinatown apart of our Christmas dinner, we will definitely return. Thank you!
I went for lunch and the combination fried rice was great! As well as the egg roll and hot and sour soup! I definitely recommend coming with your people. The atmosphere was great and service was also top notch! Thank you Monica and Virginia for the wonderful meal!!😋😊
I’ve came here a few times for dinner and more recently for lunch. The food is always great (my favorite is the wonton soup). Nice location, plenty of parking and friendly/ attentive staff. Highly recommend. Keep up the great work! Much respect 🫡
First of all the food is the best we ever had and we order Chinese every Friday!!! We just moved to this area and we wanted to try it out. Tell me why the Mexican martinis here are better then Mexican restaurants!? Also every staff member was super nice Bonnie was super nice and professional. Virginia is also super sweet and made sure we happy even though she was busy and wasn't out waitress!!! Eric was our server and he was so super nice professional funny attentive and wanted to make sure that even though he had a lot of tables that we felt like we were number 1. Also the food was so fresh so good and the best I ever had. No words. If you haven't had had Chinatown North then you haven't had Chinese food!¡! Period. I will never order Chinese takeout again we will always choose Chinatown North! Great staff Great service and THE BEST FOOD!!!
My family likes to get dim sum. This place is one of our favorites because there is usually little to no wait and they have a great selection. They may have fewer carts than other places but we’ve found that the quality is high. We enjoy their dumpling cart because they’ll crisp them up on a griddle table side for you.
Chinatown Center is an absolute treasure 🌸✨ After my visit to MT Supermarket I left with two amazing finds lavender herb that smells like pure relaxation and a beautiful glass teapot that’s the perfect addition to my kitchen. Whether you’re exploring for unique herbs, stunning kitchenware, or just soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, Chinatown Center has something for everyone. It’s a little adventure with a lot of charm. 🌿☕ #ChinatownCenterFinds #TeaTimeMagic
Well executed Chinese food. The prices are a few dollars more than what I would expect to pay elsewhere but the food is tasty and well prepared without falling into the traps that Chinese food often leads to - overly greasy, too salty, or over sauced. All the items we ordered the just right from the lomein to the orange beef.
The trip started by the server very unapologetically letting us know there was no sushi on Sundays, which caught us by surprise. We had to go with other dishes, and we were not disappointed! The lemongrass shrimp soup was a highlight; portioned for two at $8, it's very cheap and has tons of unique additions. A lot of the reviews indicate the quality has slipped, but it was a great experience overall.
Decided to eat here while we evacuated our home town. The dim sum was pretty good. They have 2 types: the steamed and grilled. They go around asking you which type you prefer. We also ordered the honey dipped steak and spicy duck with steamed rice. The service is good for the most part. We had different waits for some reason. Out of the 3 or 4 we had there was one waitress who really wasn't welcoming but maybe that's just how she is.
I wish they still had the ice cream shop there. But alot of parking tho.
Beautiful restaurant with nice quiet ambiance. The foods are too salty especially the Honey Sizzling Pepper Steaks. Actually the Sesame Shrimp is salty too. The Fried Calamari and Summer Salmon appetizers were the highlight of our dinner. My sons enjoyed the Dragon and Phoenix and Black Widow sushi rolls. Service is average. The servers was attentive but did not offer to pack our food, just brought us 2 boxes without a carrying bag. We had to ask for a bag. Not really impressed about this place other than the pretty decor inside.
The Chinatown Center is a spread out strip mall with different Asian (mostly Chinese and Vietnamese) businesses anchored by the MT Mupermarket and hosts several Asian restaurants. Many of the businesses have been there for years and are a comfort to loyal customers, but the shopping center hasn't had any noticeable upgrades or new interesting stores. I saw the recently opened Miniso novelty gift shop which is similar to Daiso, but it has Chinese origins rather than Japan. There's plenty of room for parking, but I think it reflects the declining number of shoppers visiting the center. Unless there's a compelling business or upgrade to Chinatown, the downward trend will continue.
Update: I still believe the food is great, but after the experiance we had on New Years Eve made me so disappointed. We we were never served and waited for at least 15min before we walked out. The servers would look at us but avoid us. Other people seated after us were being helped. We felt so humiliated. I called the place and complained but they didn't seem to truly care. Will never go back. I had to take my stars away because I feel we should always be treated the same. First visit was great I'm just not sure what changed. Food had great taste and the portion was a lot for the three of us.
As I went yesterday This place was okay as I've definitely got alot because of the description of most of the item sounded amazing but it wasn't all. As I got the beef kebab and the meat had no seasoning and I just drowned in BBQ sauce, the pork spring roll was basic especially with the food coloring pork to look like BBQ pork, the shrimp lover's dish was basic and Frozen peas and carrots as it's was rubber and using the orange sauce that's general tso's chicken sauce was on the other half. The better things was the fried pork dumpling as it was amazing and the shell was thick and full of meat and it was seasoned and the salt and pepper shrimp was amazing. The staff was wonderful, but I think this place use to be better but not really worth it now
I have been a loyal customer of your store for over a year. I’ve always appreciated the service and products, but a recent experience has left me extremely disappointed and disheartened. About a week ago, I purchased several items from your store. Since there were too many, I decided to return a few. When I came back to the store to return them, there were staff members at the counter, but none of them offered to help. They just looked at me and did nothing. I politely explained, “I don’t need this item anymore. Please take it back—you don’t even need to refund me.” Yet, no one responded or took action. Even though I had lost the invoice, I showed them the transaction details from the debit card I used for the purchase. Still, they neither accepted the return nor gave me any assistance. To make matters worse, the security guard there behaved in a way that felt rude and aggressive, which was very upsetting for me. As someone who has trusted your store for a long time, this treatment was very hurtful. In the end, I had no option but to throw the item away. After this experience, I’ve lost my trust and don’t plan to return to your store. I sincerely hope you take this complaint seriously and make improvements in your customer service going forward.
It's not the same...should close down and start over again...I was so disappointed 😞 I should've walked out when the bad smell hit me in my face but since we were trying to wait for traffic to die down we stayed and had a drinks and wings instead of what we came for....awful! This place had one of the best Chinese food in austin dont know what happened
TLDR: Don't come here for the dimsum. At the best you'll be disappointed and at worst you'll be sick. My family and I used to come to this restaurant for dimsum almost every month pre-covid for years. It was in our dimsum rotation with New Fortune and It was a favorite of ours. When we saw that they brought it back recently we were so excited to have it again. What we expected was the pre-covid quality and flavor that we had come to love and instead what we got was $170 worth of food items that I would be remiss to feed my pets. Half of the dimsum we ordered was tasteless/stale (somewhat reminiscent of hot water) and the other half was naseua inducing and seemingly old or uncooked. I was the only one to eat the siu-mai out of my party because my sister and dad deduced that it was a bit too raw for their liking. After they said that it made perfect sense to me because the only thing that was coming to my mind while eating the dumpling was that it reminded me of the smell of walking through a zoo animal exhibit. Both of the pan-fried dumplings we ordered were left mostly uneaten because all of us spit out the bites we had taken once we realized how flavorless but offensive the filling was. The second pan-fried dumpling we had actually made me nauseated so I had to stop trying dumplings for a little while after that The quality of preparation for the dumplings was off as well. Each dumpling was likely to fall apart as soon as you would try to pick it up because the wrapper was sticking to everything except the dumpling filling itself. The har-gow is possibly one of the most confusing aspects of this because it seems impossible to mess up. The initial bite tasted like water and nothing else but slowly a funk we couldn't put our finger on built up in the after taste until my dad said, "you know what, this tastes like really old shrimp". Suffice to say we spit it out and didn't eat any more. I could go on and talk about my thoughts for every single item we ate as every one disappointed me massively. We loved the dimsum that this restaurant once had and are never going to come back here again.
