Preguntas frecuentes sobre Counter Cafe
Opiniones de Counter Cafe Austin
This morning there was a 30 minute search for where to eat. My husband wanted biscuits and gravy and my niece wanted a mimosa. Plus it’s a Wednesday so most brunch places are not serving brunch during the week. We found Counter Cafe and headed over. I wasn’t sure from the outside but the inside is good. The menu is fabulous with locally sourced items. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy and 2 eggs (comes with biscuit and choice of meat) he ordered sausage and a side of potatoes. Our nieces had mimosas. One niece ordered the 2 eggs with a biscuit and bacon. She said her bacon was perfect. My other niece and I ordered the tacos and they were amazing! She ate her one taco and ordered another. I also ordered a side of artisan cheese grits and a biscuit. The biscuit looked hard but it was not and had a fabulous flavor. The grits had cheese and jalapeño, they were fabulous. Our server was amazing and I definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Omgoodness...... We need one of these lovely Cafes in NW Austin!!! The food was absolutely delicious! Atmosphere was fantastic. Service was perfect! Love love loved it and will be back to the "downtown" location asap. Loved it! Highly recommend it! Tons of great choices on the menu for both vegans and not. Wonderful!
I absolutely love this place. I am a frequent guest. I feel like I’m at home. The cooks are fabulous efficient they always have the food on point. I’ve never had a time that it was not delicious. The service providers waitresses are friendly. They always ask me if I need coffee because I am quite particular about how my coffee is made. They have the best coffee in town. If you guys know me I always write a review and this is one place I want you all to check out. They’re open from 6 to 3. Saturdays are my best days but remember come early because there will be a line but they will try to get you in as soon as possible. It seems to me the places that have lies are always the place to eat for me. I wanna thank you counter café, and your staff for your hard work your discipline to make fabulous food for all us as consumers and keeping us happy. We will not go wrong if you come here and if you just so happen to find this post and it make sure decisionmy name is Sara. I’m happy to give you a glass place in town my little secret counter café.
Perfect place for a little brunchy lunch. We had the steak and eggs-which was hanger steak cooked to perfect medium rare and very tender. We also had the half turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries- pretty tasty. Katy was our server, she was friendly, capable, and went out of her way to make us fresh lemonade and decaf coffee. We really appreciated her welcoming energy. Local, clean, and chill kind of vibe to the place. Thanks for the great food and service!
A fantastic experience! The chilaquiles were amazing—perfectly balanced with a tangy, flavorful sauce and topped with fresh ingredients. The service was equally impressive; our server was attentive, friendly, and ensured our dining experience was seamless. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving delicious food and excellent service!
This was a great restaurant to eat at before making the trip back to Houston. The environment was comfortable and informal, and I felt that the ingredients were fresh and the atmosphere was relaxing. I will definitely be back and the reason I would mostly come here is that parking is very easy and accessible with food that doesn’t compromise. There are plenty of options for vegetarians. And the bottomless coffee has real cream that comes with it!
I have always wanted to try this place where every time swing by there is no parking left and figured I arrived too late. But this time around I was dedicated to dine here even if I had to wait a long time. When I pulled in to the parking lot once again it seemed like every spot was taken until I found one. It was the last one, but my luck was not over yet. When my wife and I walked inside it was very busy but there was two spots open at the chef’s table which was bar-type seating. We could watch food getting prepared right in front of us. I was excited. The menu consisted of breakfast and lunch served until 3:00 PM. I decided to order a Top Chico and the Quail & Eggs. My wife ordered the Pork Chop & Fries. The place was packed and the attentive staff keeping up quite good with the customers. There was inside and outside seating but not a big place. I just felt lucky everything fell place to be able to park and seated so quickly. I watch my quail as it cooked on the grill and admired the plates of food ready to be served to customers. They all look marvelous and soon mine was ready to be placed in front of me. It was beautifully presentable with a whole piece of grilled quail, two sunny side up eggs, breakfast potatoes and homemade biscuit. My wife’s pork chop looked and smelled good with fries and salad. My quail tasted excellent and was basically boneless except the legs and wings. It had great flavor and with soft meat. The eggs tasted farm fresh for it had dark yellow yolks. Along with the potatoes and biscuit I truly enjoyed it all. I cleaned my plate clean and headed to my wife’s to taste the pork chop. It was a half inch cut pork chop cooked with nice seasonings and tasted really good. Perhaps next time will enjoy the blueberry hot cakes I saw get served to another customer.

Counter cafe is hands down one of the best brunch spots in Austin. There's usually a bit of a wait, but so immensely worth it.

Good breakfast, friendly service, very clean kitchen, small town breakfast joint feel. Got the Joe's special $15. Would recommend
Our server was superb, food was fresh, great ambience. The cafe was clean and the menu had a wonderful array of choices!
Fantastic Cafe! Great food, very very warm staff and amazing diner-cafe aesthetic. This is now my favourite brunch spot.
My son lives in Austin. I visited last weekend. He introduced me to this restaurant years ago and we've been there a few times. However, it's been awhile since a while since I last visited. Fortunately, without speaking about a place to have a meal prior to my return to San Antonio I followed my son to this restaurant, Counter Cafe. A pleasant and welcomed surprise. The welcoming personnel are that and with a smile. The staff are pleasant and attentive. Every meal I've ordered has been hot and delicious. This visit. I ordered huevos rancheros. The huevos rancheros were a bit to different than what I have experienced at a number of different restaurants and I am used to. In fact, I thought the sauce on top of my overeasy eggs were beans. So, I asked the pleasant individual who welcomed us if I could get some salsito. He pointed out that what I thought were beans was salsito. I apologized and chuckled to myself. On top of the salsito were 2 slices of avocado. A pleasant touch and the salsito was quite tasty and pleasant. Now, if there was more of this salsito I would have rated it with a fifth star. Next, time I shall ask for a little more of the salsito.
A new discovery for me. Way out of my way. I was going for another place but they were not quite open for business. Nice counter cafe place. Narrow. Not too much seating inside, additional seating outside (too hot for me right now) Busy and noisy. I guess it goes with this type of business. Service: a little slow to get to me. Nice yound lady. Food was served promptly. Food: I ordered the Joe's Special: scrambled eggs topped with home-made sausage, on top of spinach salad and home potatoes. Everything was fresh and tasty. No complaints. Overall, a good experience. Thank you. Chef Alain Braux
Classic breakfast place! food was good, although my friend mentioned the sausage tasted odd, i didn't get to try it. I had the counter benedict with pastrami and it was yummy! Service was great, and for a sunday morning they had plenty of availability. only thing is I feel like the seats were really close to the people adjacent to us, but nothing too uncomfortable. Would come back:)
The place had a charming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I ordered Joe’s special. It tasted good but it lacked the balance I had hoped for. I found the portion of eggs in my dish to be significantly less than expected, with the plate seeming to have an excess of potatoes instead.
Good freshly prepared food and very tasty. Great service and the location is nice clean and cozy.

The food is very good. The prices are average for what you pay. They have a small seating area inside and some seats on the patio outside.
Food didnt look much like the photos. Crab cake Benedict was mushy and overall didn't feel fresh. Honestly had a shockingly noticeable "freezer" taste to it. Bacon was very expensive. $4USD for two very thin strips. Service was great however! I appreciated the regular coffee refills and polite servers. Atmosphere isn't bad either. It's a nice enough space but it just really didn't taste great.
After being famished from a Sunday morning run on the lake, I decided to grab a bite. Counter Cafe was on a list of closest restaurants. 🍳 The place located in a quaint area with typical Austin vibes. The cafe was full, the people seem happy with lots of chattering (fun surroundings)! 💃 The menu was decent and price was fair. My waitress Katie was nice but took a long time to come by and grab my order. (Let’s just assume she was busy since it was packed) When my food came I thought it was just average. There was no special flavor or pizzazz to it, a bit disappointing. ☕️Coffee was super, so a + for that! I will not advise against going there, but maybe your food will be more tastier than mine. ☝🏼
Food is good, service a bit chattery. The turkey club was excellent with real roast turkey, not deli meat. The Joe's Special, however, does not even remotely resemble a Joe's Special, which does NO…
Average food for above average prices. Service is okay. $17 for small migas plate. Lol there are better places in Austin.
Counter Cafe is well priced. This place has some of the lowest brunch prices I have seen, where entrees will run you from $9-$22, with most being around $12-$15. \n\nAll that said, my group went …
