Opiniones de Flower Child Austin
This is my first time visiting Austin and needed a place for lunch. My lunch was amazing. I had a braised beef bowl and is was simply delicious! The staff is super friendly and very helpful.
Great place to get healthy vegan food in Austin, they have a number of different vegan options. I've got two main meals so far and they were both great. The 'olive oil cooked vegetables' side is really nice too. Highly recommended.
Delicious! Healthy ingredients. Definitely good. I got three veggies sides and my partner for two sides with tofu. Very good. The roasted veggies are amazing. The Mac n cheese is pretty good, it's parmesan so not too cheesy. The pita bread is good but thin. The cashew chocolate chip cookie was very good but the brownie was not good. It was too rich and honestly calling is an almond brownie is almost laughable. The sweet potato fries were good but some were burnt which is ok. But everything else was awesome, can't complain.
Can’t go wrong with flower child. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious. And the service was great as well. Asked for recommendations and chose a bowl based on the cashiers recommendation. Did not disappoint. The teas are fantastic as well, service was great, prices are decent. Will return 😊
If you’re looking for a fresh, feel-good meal in downtown Austin, Flower Child on Second Street is the perfect spot. The vibe is bright, airy, and laid-back—totally Austin. Whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, or just trying to eat clean, the menu has something for everyone. I had the Mother Earth bowl, and it was packed with roasted sweet potatoes, portobello mushrooms, avocado, and the perfect crunch from broccoli and grains. The avocado hummus is a must-try—super creamy and served with warm pita and fresh veggies. Even the drinks are on point; I went with their house lemonade and loved the fresh citrusy kick.
We were visiting Austin today and decided to try this place for a healthy lunch. Everyone loved everything that they ate! It was all very flavorful without being salty or greasy. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a healthy but tasty meal. Also worth noting they do serve meat, I thought they were vegan… but was pleasantly surprised by they other proteins being offered. We got the Mediterranean kabobs, ginger miso salad, some kind of Chinese type noodle bowl, and a kids meal with chicken , corn quinoa, mashed potatoes… all delicious!
Already started digging in before taking the photo. This looks, smells, and tastes amazing. The price is very respectable to your wallet, and the servers are very sweet. I will be returning every chance I get. I got the Mother Earth Bowl with Steak added, and after finishing, had to get a second bowl to eat for dinner later. It was Too good.
Loved this place. Caught it before we headed out of Austin back to our home in the Hill Country. Back in town in a week and plan a second visit. Great friendly and helpful staff, wonderful layout, and just a fun sunny place. I did note to my wife that while it was bustling with diners, the client tell mix, on our visit was about 90% ladies and 10% gents. And also, folks take their time to eat. We arrived, ate and departed, while a majority of the tables and guest remained in place and were chatting. Just be advised of this and plan accordingly.
I recently checked out this healthy-oriented spot and had an amazing experience! The salmon was absolutely fantastic—cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. And don't even get me started on the Parmesan broccoli; it was to die for! The flavors were incredible, and it felt like a real treat while still being healthy. The service was awesome too. The staff was super friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. If you're looking for a place that serves delicious, healthy food with great service, this is the place to go!
I am an outside Austin guy, not given to trendy or hip kind of places. Nevertheless, we were in the area meeting some friend and the wife wanted to try it out. The place is immaculately clean- I didn’t see anyone else mention this but even the obligatory high shelf of knickknacks was taken care of and free from dust. It’s a minor thing, but it speaks to the attention to detail that sets this place apart. Plenty of vegan and gluten-free options that look great. I’m a steak and potatoes guy, though, so I got the Rebel Wrap. It was tasty and delicious without being overly pretentious. The staff were cheerful and friendly and the prices were very reasonable (especially for that part of Austin.) I’m still not a fan of downtown, but if I need to be there I’ll definitely be happy to stop in again.
One of my favorite vegan-friendly spots downtown! The location is fantastic and walkable to cool spots, like jazz clubs or the library, so it’s a perfect date location. The lighting is also warm and romantic inside. Affordable pricing — under $40 for two full meals and a kombucha! I’d recommend trying their broccoli, spicy sweet potato, and soup of the day.
Absolutely love Flower Child! The food is fresh, healthy, and extremely well made. We’ve had lunch at Flower Child several times now and always seem to choose the same entrée (turkey avocado Cobb salad) because we love it so much!! The menu is fantastic and there are so many delicious entrees…we’ve decided to try something new the next time :)
If you are in Downtown Austin, this is a great spot for fresh food, lots of gluten free offerings, and excellent service in a fun atmosphere. We tried several different things across the menu. All of them were good. The chicken entree was enjoyed with a side of gluten free mac and cheese and the smashed golden potatoes. The chicken was cooked to perfection but a little lacking on spice. The mac and cheese GF noodles were perfect and didn’t fall apart like most corn or rice pasta. The aged cheddar sauce was a little thin to my preference but had good flavor notes. The smashed potatoes were smooth and silky. Aesthetically it was decent but the most boring of our dishes. The Enchilada Bowl was a great success! The way it was dressed and finished was the best of the day. Tons of flavors and spices argued for attention and together made a great ensemble. Definitely having this again. The Yakisoba Noodles with Chicken was pretty successful. The only complaint with this dish was the large chunks of celery. We will probably order it without the celery stalk next time. Despite that, another well cooked and sauced dish that will be on the repeat order list. The only other knock is that if you are driving in, parking can be a bit of a problem so plan to walk a couple of blocks or plan to pay to garage park.
Had the black bean falafel wrap. The menu states: hummus, tomato, pickled red onion, Mediterranean herbs and tzatziki. What I was served was a big tortilla with 4 small falafel and chopped Romain lettuce inside. No tomato, maybe 1 slice of pickled red onion and I didn’t taste or see tzatziki sauce. And it comes with a salad of, you guessed it, romaine lettuce.
I paid $15 for a strawberry and beet salad and a chocolate cashew cookie and I started getting hungry only a couple of hours later. The service was great, it was just the menu I have issues with. I don't like spicy food or avocado. The menu was pretty limited for me because of that. Chicken is almost $5 on top of the base salad and Shrimp $6.75 on top of the salad. I decided I'd be fine with just the salad and a cookie, which was only $3 and unique-sounding since it's chocolate cashew instead of the normal chocolate chip. The poppyseed dressing was not enough for how much arugula and salad leaves they give you. I should have asked for an extra dressing, but I'm kind of worried that would be an extra $2 based on the price of everything else. I find it hard to find beets on things and I like them, so that was nice. Also, the cookie was pretty good! This is also kind of random but if you eat outside or anywhere near outside, watch out for the fruit flies! Two of them kept bothering me even after I quickly ate all the strawberries and beets on my salad. I could just be abnormally really distracted by fruit flies, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention this.
I’m super frustrated with my experience here. I placed an online pickup order around 6:45 p.m. for a salad and a bowl, with an estimated pickup time of 7:30 p.m. (Over 45 minutes for two small entrees on a Wednesday night already felt excessive.) When I arrived, the food wasn’t ready—no big deal at first. But by 7:45, it was still not ready. By 8:00, still nothing. Eventually, the staff had to remake the entire order.
The quality has completely fallen off at this place. I’ve been disappointed by almost every item I’ve ordered. Sweet potato fries, red chili glazed sweet potatoes, and brussels sprouts were extremely hard and undercooked. Not to mention soggy. The ginger miso salad arrived with the lettuce brown throughout the whole thing. The yakisoba noodles just weren’t good and had very little taste to them. Flower child used to be reliable, healthy food, but they’ve clearly fallen off and started cutting corners.
