I thought it was only fair that I leave reviews for every time I’ve ordered from here. I think a 4.3 rating truly doesn’t do their food justice, first time I ordered I got the dumplings, wonton soup and sesame chicken and coconut rice with mango sticky rice. I usually use a lot of dumpling sauce with my dumplings so when I got one small cup of dumpling sauce, I felt a little disappointed however to my pleasant surprise the dumplings and sauce were so flavorful, I didn’t even have to use all the dumpling sauce for the dumplings; I got a small of the wonton soup but have been ordering larges ever since: something simple done right will always win every time and this is a winning bowl of comfort . The sesame chicken and broccoli with rice was good, the broccoli was really fresh, perfectly cooked w a bit of crisp and a subtle coconut flavor to the coconut rice . The mango sticky rice was the refreshing ending to a great meal. After 3 connecting flights, I will be sure to order from them again for another bowl of comfort and some good grub. lol I promise I’m not like one of this ppl that give praises to restaurants, I just truly enjoy quality food, being a Jersey/New York girl recently moved from Houston-> I’m a foodie at heart and this def is a place to try.
Amazing food and service. They have such a good variety and some non-thai dishes if you want as well. I was pleasantly surpised how fast everything delivered while the quality and freshness is excellent. The staff are Thai so you know it is authentic. The lighting at the tables is a nice touch giving it a pleasant warm ambience. Their pad kaprow is one of my favorites among the many dishes on offer.
So Ive ordered them three times this week and just wow: the food really is so good, simple classic Thai dishes that are really really flavorful; the wonton soup is the epitome of comfort food: I don’t usually order wonton soup because I feel like most places kind of underseason it but I can legit just eat this and be happy: first time I had the sesame chicken w coconut rice and mango sticky rice. Everything was fresh and delicious, second time I got the pineapple fried rice , a bowl of the wonton soup , and chicken satay. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I’ll be leaving two other reviews for the two other times I ate here since I didn’t get to for the first two times i ordered and didn’t leave a review: new favorite Asian spot 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Staff is extremely extremely nice! food is great and fast! i was a little worried when i walked in and it was crowded with only 2 waitress but she was amazing running around and did not forget anything! Only thing i personally dont like its not a negative i justr dont like can sodas i preffer fountain. but food is amazing got Pad sew ew and spicy edamame and it was so delicious me and my girlfriends new favorite spot! if you want thai food you cant go wrong here.
Green Mango is a great Thai restaurant out near 620 and 2222. It is in a shopping center with lots of stores and restaurants kind of on the southwest end. They have a specific lunch menu, which is excellent as well as a full dinner menu. There’s also a bar and a lot of outdoor seating which is very nice if it is not too hot. Every time I come here, the food has been great, and the servers are fantastic. It’s best to come with a few people so that you can try multiple dishes. The Pad Thai is excellent as are the curries that I’ve had. Next time I will try the Thai fried rice. It’s well worth the trip here even if you do not live nearby.
Me and my sister's go-to for a night out! Delicious and large rolls (the seaweed salad is incredible), mouthwatering Thai tea, perfectly crafted mango sticky rice, and flavorful curries! The sushi bar does open after 4 pm, so if you're visiting for fish, come in the evening! Also, the food does take some time to arrive, but I believe they are perfecting each detail.
This is my favorite thai restaurant in Austin. Every single dish here is super good. You can tell them how much spice you want (mild, medium, hot, extra hot). Don’t underestimate their sushi. They’re 10/10!! Server’s are very friendly. Sticky mango rice is the best dessert here on my opinion. I love coming here with my whole family.
I recently dined at Green Mango and tried their spicy kani roll sushi, basil fried rice, and pad thai noodles. Spicy Kani Roll Sushi had Well-balanced flavors with light spiciness of mayo sauce added nice kick, visually appealing presentation Highly recommended. Basil chicken Fried Rice was with generous portion, deliciously satisfying. Pad Thai Noodles, a Classic Thai dish perfectly cooked. Tried Thai tea crepe cake for dessert.. loved the layers! Overall, a delightful dining experience with great flavors, visually appealing dishes, generous portions, attentive service, and pleasant ambiance. Highly recommended for Asian cuisine lovers.
Had a good dining experience here. In the appetizer, the curry puffs were really good. The hot n sour soup was not that great. The green curry was also not good. However, the pad thai was good, and we really liked it. The chicken tenders and fries were also crispy and tasted good. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are a bit on the higher side, considering the taste and portion size of some of the dishes. But will definitely visit again to try out some other items that caught our eye.
We went here on a Saturday night and the place had plenty of seating available. We had the cheese rolls, green curry and Pad Ke Mao. The cheese rolls were good and the dipping sauce was excellent. The green curry despite asking for medium was spicy. We loved that it was spicy and we were glad we didn’t ask for it to be spicy to begin with. Pad ke mao was good and had a nice Smokey flavor to it. We felt the food was good but was pricey for the portion sizes.
Looks like it was a bar at one point. Since it was in October, they had a huge animated Halloween figure that seemed out of place for a Thai establishment. The seated reminded me of a mid-century diner. There is outdoor seating as well which is good during the right times of the year. We were there on a Friday night and it was maybe 20% occupied. There were some take out orders being processed as well. I had the hot and sour soup which was spicy and sour. There was plenty of tofu, but it lacked the depth and richness I've experienced elsewhere. The garlic chicken was very good. My wife had a curry which she really enjoyed. The waitstaff was friendly and accomodating to special dietary requests
I was really excited to try this place and arrived full of hope and optimism. That fizzled out pretty quickly. The host was standoffish and seemingly put out that they had to talk with customers. It did not get better. The server seemed unhappy having to explain items on the menu. My friend's chicken dish smelled a bit off and was perhaps overcooked. Mine was average. Last thing: no free refills on lemonade and ice tea either. I won't be back.
Has the quality of this place gone really down ? Have dined in a lot of times before and also ordered take out . Our recent experience was really not that good . Weekday night dinner and we were asked to first switch tables, which is okay . Then we order all the food together and they did a good job of bringing one by one . The wine glass for $10 is totally not worth it, it was not even quarter glass and it was not even that expensive wine and I felt this is the smallest glass of wine we have ever ordered . Next comes the chicken satay which is okay and nothing great but usually they add cucumbers to the sweet sauce and this time there was only onions..bummer. The worst was the basil fried rice. Totally lacking flavor and was Panda Express kind of fast food quality and cannot even compare to the fried rice at other Thai places nearby . And $16 for that fried rice is totally not justifiable . Finally.. the mango sticky rice . With the mango season in full bloom I was expecting a mango on the sweeter side and this one was sour and they just left some rice on the side which is not the quantity we get in other restaurants for the price point . The waitresses kept putting the food on the other end of the table and we had to get it to our side every time and it was not really a great experience . Might end up ordering the curries for takeout but probably never dining in again . Better off going to Thai restaurants which give quality food for the same price and a better experience . Hope they improve this in the future as this used to be one of my favorites before .
I went to pick up an online order, and the host/server saw me but kept coming and going without really doing anything. There were only three tables with customers who were already eating, and she wasn’t attending to them either. Then she disappeared into the kitchen, and even though she had seen me, she left me waiting for what felt like an eternity. When she finally came back, I asked about my order, which was supposed to be ready 10 minutes before I arrived. After the additional 15 minutes she made me wait, it still took forever for her to bring out my bag. As for the food, I thought it was a bit expensive, $26 for rice, but ok, it was delicious at first until it got nasty. Unfortunately, after three or four bites, I found a very long black hair in it. That immediately ruined it, and my $26 went straight into the trash.
Came here for dinner last night and was quickly given a table however waited 15 minutes for a server which never came so we had to flag down a person to help us. They said they would be right with us. We waited another five minutes so I went up to the bar and let them know that we were ready to order. Finally, someone came up to our table and took our order and we need a refills on our water, no one refilled the water finally after some time later someone brought water to our table when we’re ready to pay for our check again no one was checking up on us so we had to flag someone down again. Meanwhile, there was a table of four that was immediately sat at the bar and their order was immediately taken we don’t understand why we weren’t helped at all. The food was great, but the service was terrible.
I have been to Green Mango a few times in the past for Thai dishes but I don’t think I will return again. I am now on my second day of suffering from food poisoning. Thursday night I ordered three sushi rolls and miso soup from Green Mango via Uber Eats. Big mistake. I first noticed the rolls were not well formed and fell apart easily, but didn’t mind that as long as the taste was ok. But after eating about half of a roll, I noticed the texture and taste were off. When I looked closely I saw obviously rotten avocados in all the rolls that contained avocado. The fish and rest of the ingredients didn’t look or taste fresh either. Even though I stopped eating when I found out, it was too late. I am very concerned with the lack of care to food safety. It is hard to give a benefit of the doubt when you can see the avocados used were clearly off-color and have slimy texture. It is worth noting that Uber Eats was not at fault with this transaction and it was delivered in a timely manner. I hope the management will correct this and take food safety seriously. As of now, I do not recommend eating sushi here.
