I'll be honest, I have only ever had the opportunity to order ahead and drive through pick up, so uhh, atmosphere is a 4/5 because I haven't seen the inside. Food is excellent, I'm an egg guy. Put an egg on basically any of the burgers and they're pretty damn exceptional. Sides are good, non alcoholic drinks are good, unsure on the spiked shakes as I have never had one. They seem to be pretty consistently busy, both drive through and those eating in, so maybe just check busy times ahead if you don't want to wait.
Food is always on point. Fast service. The crew is exceptional.
Food was great and helpful staff. Rachel was our waitress and very accommodating.
Shroom Burger was spectacular. Doddy Melt was great, as well.
My burger had high quality ingredients and tasted delicious. The attendant that deliver my order was smiling and kindly attended to my requests. Service was fast and ready on the time the online ordering stated.
LOVE Lil Doddy. My favorite burgers. Also the fries are perfect, thin and handcut. And they do roasted Brussels sprouts, which are delicious. Good vibes inside and out.
If you’re in South Austin and your taste buds are bored, drag them to Hopdoddy. I grabbed the Cadillac Wagyu, and it did not disappoint. The steak sauce is borderline addictive. (A1 better watch out.) It’s definitely the kind of sauce that makes you briefly consider licking the parchment paper in public. The truffle fries deserve their own spotlight. Crispy, golden deliciousness, hit with just enough truffle oil to make their taste elevated above boring old “French fries.” Almost perfection. Make sure to try the chipotle ketchup while you’re at it. It’s got a fun little kick that sneaks up on you in a good way. (Unlike your credit card bills each month.) Now… let’s talk about buns. (Not those…) When you get a big honkin burger, the bottom bun tends to not survive. Kind of like your favorite TV show character. (For me it was Derek Shepherd). So halfway through the burger, the bun surrendered to the juice and turned into something resembling mushed-up zombie brains. You’ll still eat it, but you might need a fork. Definitely get a shake! I went for the cookies and cream shake, which tasted like someone put an Oreo factory through a blender and hit it with some milkshake magic. Thick, creamy, and sweet but not soo thick that you cannot slurp it up a straw. Now for a hot take: Hopdoddy is not exactly kid-friendly. Sure, they can accommodate, but between the noise, funky seating setup, and tight spaces, it’s not the easiest place for little ones unless your toddler thrives in chaos. Great for a casual adult hangout, but not so much for sippy cups and strollers. Quick notes before you go: This location can get crowded and loud, because apparently everyone else had the same great idea. It’s not open seating, so you will get a table assigned when you order. It’s Not cheap, but the flavor does its part to make up for it. Summary: Cadillac Wagyu burger? Excellent and yummy and beefy and flavorful. Truffle fries? You are crazy not to order them. Cookies and cream shake? If you want a dessert this the correct choice. Not so Kid-friendly. Only if your kids enjoy mild chaos. Would I go back? Yes. With extra napkins and zero toddlers.
Went during lunch hour and got the Buffalo Bill burger to go. Surface was quick and friendly. The burger itself was top notch. Expensive, yes, absolutely was. But, still a five star review because of the taste, the quality, the service.
Absolutely loved the brussel sprouts leafs! The burger was good, I think the sauce flavor is what made it!
Was a great way to end a very busy weekend and to celebrate a Birthday. Our son wanted a Double Cheeseburger but we didn't want to do the fast food thing. So we googled and thought Lil'Doddy Burger Lab sounds cool. It did not disappoint at all. Burgers were AMAZING, Super awesome selection of different types of fries. As a family of 6 and many different tastes and likes, we are trying to find our Go To spot that everyone loves going to. This is in our TOP 5 for sure. Thanks for being part of our Special Day and weekend
From the guy who took our order , to our servers , to the food … A1. Drinks were strong and food was perfect. 👌🏽
Awesome dinner at Lil’Doddy. I’ve been a long time fan of Hopdoddy but since having a child heading to South Congress and waiting in line is a luxury of time that we’ve only found once or twice. I was flipping through last month’s Community Impact and saw that Lil’Doddy had opened in April near me and I immediately took my daughter there for dinner. I had the Wild Mushroom Truffle Aoli Burger and it was fantastic. The loose packed, coarse ground, meaty yet tender burger with flavorful mushrooms and ever present but not overwhelming truffle oil was amazing to enjoy after a multi-year Hopdoddy drought. Most importantly, my six-year old ate nearly her whole kid’s burger which looks just as big as a regular burger - so you know it’s good! In addition, she ate her fries without ketchup or any sauce. They were that good.
I'm a regular at Hopdoddy. But this was my first time at this specific location. The food was not on par with I'm used to. The Saltillo location is much better. That being said, after leaving some feedback, Josh, the General Manager refunded my meal. Absolute stellar customer service and it's one of the main reasons why I keep coming back. Things didn't work out this time but the grace given via a refund and the desire to be better is what a lot of companies are missing. Josh - thank you!
Always great service and food! I love sitting at the bar - Jeff is a great and attentive bartender!
Jeff was an amazing bartender and treated me like a king! I got my food and drinks wicked fast. You can tell the staff does amazing work because it was a full bar on a Thursday afternoon. The best thing was that they were playing Bombay Bicycle Club over their music system, which is one of my favorite bands that not many people know about. 100% will return soon.
Food was delicious, staff was great. There are two sections in the restaurant, one is full service and one is self service. I tried the full service seating area; staff was attentive; as they got busier they came around less frequently but it wasn't difficult to grab a someone when/if needed. The 110 min egg fries were great, they did take a little bit to come out but overall it was a great experience.
Well, you’ve done it. You’ve made the perfect restaurant. You already had the perfect burger. Now it’s much faster, closer the portions are perfect and there is a drive through. Not sure what witchcraft made that possible but it’s a game changer(Especially for families) Keep doing your thing Hop!
The most amazing burgers. I wish they had some in Ohio. Can get pretty crowded at times.
It is really really great. Wagyu burger is fantastic, truffle fries were perfecto, service was really fantastic. Very kind and helpful staff. Would recommend. 100 percent.
giant portions these burgers will not leave you feeling hungry!! also, delicious!!! big flavor and all unique. milkshakes are also delicious and perfectly portioned - but also available in mini size if you're not feeling quite so gluttonous 😁 this particular location is the smallest of all the ones in the chain hence their sign does say lildoddy. that was a little bit confusing but we made it!!
Had an El Diablo. Really loved all the grilled onions. Sweet potato fries also excellent. Service was friendly and efficient
Awesome food, location, and friendly customer service. I wish they had more appetite/side extra options like fried pickles, mushrooms, onion rings, and a gourmet mac-n-cheese. Perhaps a burger themed mac, an angus, wagu, or chicken. Also, maybe a aoli side sauce and grilled onion and or mushroom option too.
Hopdoddy offer some excellent selections of burgers. I am a big fan of their spicy El Diablo burger. They have several options for shareables (fries, crispy brussel sprouts etc.) to pair with your burgers. They also offer an option to get burger’s in a salad bowl if that’s your preference. All burgers are customizable, I had their El Diablo burger switched with bean & corn vegetarian patty. Food is delicious, ambience is similar to what you typically find at a burger joint.
This is a really good mix up from the Hop Doddy experience that i know. Hop Doddy always has a such a long line and a stressful over stuffed environment. Whereas lil doddy just feels so spacious with easy walkways and just an overall better vibe. The menu is different and and honestly quite better. But i believe it to be a rotating menu assuming this is a text kitchen. Either way Good Job Team!
Great fries. Any burger can be made in a bowl with greens for +$2. It's a "Lil' Doddy" because it is a smaller store than a regular "HopDoddy".
We had a great time at Lil Doddy, we went just before the dinner rush and had no wait at all to order or be seated. The waitress taking our order was very helpful and friendly making suggestions for us. We appreciated the patio seating. Our food came quickly and was very good, definitely a place we'll be visiting again.
Menus at door. Stand in line to order. Drinks & food are delivered to your table. We had a classic burger (came with mayo) and a classic cheeseburger (I sustituted mustard for the mayo). We had frozen margaritas and water. We shared a large fry - served in a bowl and more than enough for two. Tables are very close together. We had parents with a baby on one side and parents with a college student on the other side. Food and Drinks are great. Atmosphere is very casual and friendly.
Thoroughly enjoyed this place! It was a different experience than most fast casual burger places I've been. When you walk in, you're almost immediately walking into the line. Try to get your hand on one of the small menus, or take a look at the one that's uploaded to the pictures here on Google. As of this review, their website doesn't have a Lil'doddy specific menu on it. If you've been to Hopdoddy, you'll recognize the burgers but there are fewer options. Once you get towards the front of the line, someone with a tablet with assign you a table based on the number of people in your party and take your order. The table assignment is unique but nice because it eliminates the stress of needing to find and choose one on your own. You'll get to the cashier, tell them your assigned table number, pay and they'll give you a pager. When your order is ready, your pager beeps and you pick up your food. There are bottles of ketchup, mustard and their signature "sassy sauce" on every table, with more options (like ranch etc) in pumps elsewhere. Overall, the process from walk in to sit down took about 5 min, and we were there at prime dinner time (6:30ish on a Saturday). Wish there had been signage to explain how it worked (like the assigned table thing) but otherwise no problems. I loved the food! Ordered the Goodnight burger and sweet potato fries. After your meal, someone busses your table for you so you don't have to clean up after yourself. Will definitely return in the future.
I have never had a bad experience at this location. They had accidentally brought out the wrong for me for my lunch today and we're so quick to get it fixed and taken care of. The manager and staff for today were the nicest people, always checking on me to make sure everything was great. Love this place!
One of the best burgers we’ve had in Austin so far. We got Magic shroom and Thunderbird(with chicken) burgers. Both of them had juicy patties and perfectly chosen combination of veggies. We also had fries complemented with cream cheese, avocado, mustard and pepper for share. As for the atmosphere they have enough indoor and outdoor terrace space (it’s too hot outside now though), not too loud music and nice staff.
Great happy hour with a variety of food options, including grass-fed burgers, pasture raised eggs, salads, fresh cut french fries, and more. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Bartenders are always kind and do a great job! Food tastes fresh.
I brought my boys here for an easy Sunday dinner. The restaurant was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was really good! We enjoyed burgers, fries, and shakes. They boys said 10/10, they highly recommend!
Great customer service, variety of items on menu and beef seasoned well. Got a classic, magic shroom (as a bowl) and a thunderbird. Was a beautiful day and they have outside seating with music not so loud that you could have a conversation without screaming!
We loved every part of our lunch experience. Service was absolutely amazing! The food was fantastic, we loved every bite. Awesome chicken, great burgers and the best sweet potato fries we’ve ever eaten. Margarita - perfection!
Excellent! We always love this as a great family place. The small fires on the tables are great for cold days. Their food is delicious, good staff, and when our fries were cold they happily replaced them with some delicious hot fries. The lines can be slightly long but it goes quickly and this is a great place if you’re craving a nice burger. Nashville hot chicken and Brussels sprouts are delicious. Highly recommend
Hop/lil’ Doddy never disappoints. They have something for every palate and a great selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It’s the kind of casual place you could bring people to who are visiting from out or town. Top tier burgers, fries, busses sprouts, and margaritas.
This place is so consistent for gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches and sides. I’ve been here well over a dozen of times and am never disappointed with my meal. Also really appreciate the options they have for alternate buns (gluten free or lettuce wrapped) and making any sandwich a salad bowl. Fries are phenomenal as well!
Friday, October 17th – We had an impromptu birthday celebration for our daughter, who just turned 19, and she wanted one thing: burgers and fries from Hopdoddy with her sweetest friends—her absolute favorite. From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond to take care of us.They quickly arranged enough tables for our group, made ordering a breeze, and created an atmosphere that was warm, welcoming, and fun. But the real standout was Sundi, the manager. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely interested in making the evening special. She asked what we were celebrating, if we had a cake, and even got all of our daughter’s friends to share something they loved about her. It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming touch. She made us feel like we were celebrating with an old friend, and her presence truly elevated the entire experience. Our daughter had an amazing night, and so did we. Thank you, Sundi and the team at Hopdoddy (Lil Doddy) for making this birthday so memorable. We’ll definitely be back—until next time!
We stopped in for dinner on a Friday during ACL, assuming it wouldn’t be too busy - boy were we mistaken! The place was buzzing, but somehow the energy felt welcoming rather than chaotic. We had our dog with us, and Hugo went out of his way to help us snag a table outside, which was a big win for us and our pup. The staff maintained a steady, friendly pace even as the crowd grew, and you could tell everyone was working hard to keep things running smoothly. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, with the outdoor seating giving us a nice view of the evening crowd and just enough buzz without feeling overwhelming. The servers checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. When the food arrived every bite lived up to the reputation and experience we’ve come to expect. What stood out most was the consistency of the experience: despite the bustle, the timing remained reasonable, the drinks were well-made, and the staff projected genuine warmth. It’s clear the team takes pride in keeping guests fed and satisfied, even on a busy night. We’ll definitely be back - the combination of friendly, efficient service, a dog-friendly outdoor option, and reliably tasty food makes this a standout.
Went out to treat myself after a long day of work and sat at the bar. This was my first time here and Julia did an amazing job guiding me through the menu. I really wanted to try the “Mother Nature” but unfortunately they no longer had it. She made great recommendations. Julia was amazing and made the experience all the better. 10/10 would recommend.
You can’t go wrong with what you order at Hopdoddy! We ordered classic burgers, the wagyu burger & the double bacon jam burger. The wagyu was the best! We also ordered a side of truffle fries & the honey sage sweet potato fries, I love the sauce that comes with them! Make sure you order a cold beer to pair with your delicious meal!
Even on a crisp, cool afternoon sitting outside at Lil Doddy' is pleasant. The atmosphere is chill and laid back. Fire pits around help keep it warm. The food here is always great. The burgers are the best around. They are always juicy and tender. Delicious! The arugula was fresh. The fried onions gave it a nice crunch. The French fries were fries. They were ok, but the sweet potato fries were amazing. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside with the perfect amount of salt. Great place to spend an afternoon.
There plenty of places to get a burger. I am happy with this place because of this close to my home. The decor is simple and clean. The menu is easily understood. except if you accidentally order a giant pile of truffle fries when you think you're just getting a regular french fry side. All told, despite being a little pricey, it is a quality dining experience that I intend to repeat.
Burgers were solid, really good in fact. However the $7 fries were cold, and the $8 Brussel sprouts were so salty they were hard to stomach.
The burger patty is fresh and delicious, the bun is really good. They could work on the condiments a bit. There was so much mayonnaise on my burger I couldn't eat it without it running down my arm, which is not ideal. Had to use 5 napkins. The lettuce is shredded so finely that it gets soggy and does not add anything to the Burger. My mushroom burger had a total of three mushroom slices. Don't be so cheap.
The FOOD got us to return twice. Happy Hour pricing was a good deal. (4-7pm, weekdays) I loved the beef "sliders", family and friends tried many different foods. Chicken, beef, fries ALL delicious. Staff friendly, needs a reminder to REALLY clean the tables. A little crazy/confusing ordering system, first order has to be done at counter, get table number then.. Staff comes around to add to your order if you want anything else. First night, a party of 10, a lot of food and drinks, 2nd day 3 adults returned because of the FOOD!!. YOU got to eat here!!
Visiting friends in Austin and noticed this place. Been quite pleased with our Hopdoddy experiences in Los Angeles so decided to give it a try. Called in a rather complicated order for 5 people. Lots of no this or that. When we picked it up it was ready on time and they had nailed it. Everything was as it should be and very good. I had the Buffalo Bill bison burger and it was tender, juicy, tasty in a great bun with all the seeds.
The fries seemed to taste high in sodium, and the burger I ordered also tasted high in sodium. I'm sure Lil' Doddy can do better than that. It all depends on who's cooking the food. Wish I didn't have to say this, but it's true. I've eaten at this place several times, never did I taste high sodium in the food til now.
I wanted a take out burger that was more elevated than Whataburger but would be ready quickly at 8:30pm on a Friday night. Lil'Doddy was the perfect choice. I got a Good Night, Good Cause burger with a few modifications, truffle fries and a milkshake. The food was ready quickly and right on the estimated time. The drive through is awesome and made it so easy to get my order. The burger was juicy and delicious and the fries held up pretty well during the drive home. I'll definitely be back here for more burgers.
it's a good burger. but at the end of the day, we had 2 burgers, one order of fries to share, 1 beer and 2 waters and it was $50 after tip. just feels like a lot. probably just me being an old grump, but it somehow made the burger less impressive. didn't feel like it was $50 good.
So me and my buddies decided that we wanted to come here today because it was national cheeseburger day. We had our eyes set on the smashburger special because it looked really good and we were super excited to get it. Little did we know showing up pretty late in the night because we were both working they were going to be running out of stuff which was sad so we didn't get to eat that burger we wanted to eat and we didn't get to have regular french fries I ordered a order of sweet potato fries but I was thinking about getting regular fries I'm sure this doesn't happen a lot. Service was super quick food was hot and fresh My burger was just okay I don't know I just felt like it could have been a little bit better maybe I'll try something else next time. The restrooms were very clean. All in all though I just wish I'd gotten to get that smashburger maybe next time.
Solid patio down south. Great hostess who made sure we were seated where we wanted to be seated on the patio regardless of the wait when we arrived. Food was amazing. Sweet potato fries were sooo good. The burger with Brussel sprouts was shockingly good. Regular fries were also solid. Big giant beers. Pretty good spicy pineapple marg. Great spot for a patio dinner in South Austin.
I used to love going hot daddy. This was the first time that I was not impressed with the burger. I was very disappointed paying almost $20 which I don't have a problem with but when it tasted like a regular regular and not even. Really hot I have a problem paying that price. Now the fries they came out tasting fresh and I did enjoy them. I loved how you had both options of sitting, indoor or outdoor. There's a small bar for anyone who wants to drink.
We’ve been here multiple times and the food is always good. The portion sizes are good for the pricing. We always get take out because the music is so loud that it bothers our son, who is sensitive to noise. It’s actually too loud for me as well. You have to yell to have a conversation. The interior has hard seating, hard tables and little acoustical dampening. So it gets loud quickly. If you’re sensitive to loud noises, skip eating in and take your food to go. Because we always get the food to go, we don’t usually get to eat it hot. The fries come with instructions on how to reheat. Even slightly cold the burgers are still good. Love that they have options for those who are low carb. It’s always busy when we go. We just don’t eat here a lot because of the volume and eating kinda warm burgers isn’t the top of our list.
I love Hopdoddy and their food. I don't know if it's because this one is a "Lil Doddy" or what but service was horrible. Normally fries and appetizers come out before the mains- we wouldn't have even received our sides if we didnt ask (and burgers came out before the apps). I'm used to them asking if you need anything (I usually get extra aioli for my fries) but they just dropped the food off and that was it. Never checked in to see if we need anything else. Fries were overcooked (perhaps sat under a hot light until I asked for them?) and chewy. Brussels were good. Burgers were good. I just have higher expectations for Hopdoddy and they definitely were not met. At all.
The food was really good, highlights to the hot honey and sage sweet potato fries (I'm not big on sweet potato fries). Burgers were really flavorful and cooked to my liking. Spot on on the drinks. The only thing somewhat negative is that burgers came out before the drinks and fries came out even later.
Their a/c has a huge condensation problem. All of their exposed overhead air ducts were just dripping condensation and we had to switch tables. But took some family, 4 of us in total, all of em said it was the best burger they've had this year. My vegan burger was delicious and everyone couldn't get enough of the watermelon drink and lemonade and that chipotle ketchup was something nice.
My brother and I came here today for a first time experience. We barely beat the crowd. We each ordered the Blazing Pineapple margaritas and got Parmesan Truffle Fries and Hot Honey Sage Brussels to share. My brother got a Classic burger while I got an El Diablo. The burgers were fabulous and I could live on the Brussels! Neither of us liked the margarita as we felt it was too acidic or unbalanced. There was no spice to it whatsoever. Having said that, I think I have a new favorite burger joint.
Visiting hopdoddy after 2 years. We got the truffle fries, wagyu burger and Nashville chicken burger. The food came out quickly. The fries were great just as before. Our burgers were delicious. Really enjoyed the crispy chicken, it was pipping hot. My only negative would be the size of the burger. It has reduced a lot and doesn't fit the price I am paying.
I am just a little disappointed in the veggie burger. It's a little dry and for $11 I'm not sure I'll try this place again. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. Maybe they do meat well, but for the price point, I don't think it's worth it.
I ordered the bacon jam Burger which only comes as a double, ask for a single and they told me they charge the same price for double or a single. I guess that's fine I've got a single anyway cuz I can't eat two big giant beef patties. The burger itself was great the bun was great. The bacon jam was okay. We also got the nacho fries. They should have had the sour cream guacamole and nacho sauce on the side. The fries came in a big bowl with queso poured over them and big scoops of sour cream guacamole and Pico dolloped on top. Very difficult to eat the fries at the very bottom or to get any queso which it all gone down to the bottom of the bowl. I liked the flavor of the fries my husband did not care for them. Wait staff was very nice. Restaurant cleanliness was nice. The booth was good.
They are having difficulty managing online orders. Not ready and have you pull to a spot. Bring out partial order and say they’ll be back. Never come back. Have to go retrieve your own items. Not even busy with full staff. Get home and order is still wrong. Meat is tiny (and cold) for the price (usually better).
Was disappointed with the food here. Went in first thing in the morning and got stale fries. The veggie burger was dry as well. Recommend finding another location if you want their burgers.
Like a beer before or with your meal. Don’t expect that here. Your beverage is very likely to show up after your meal is delivered. No, you can’t get it while ordering, you have to wait. They are consistent, been here twice and this has happened twice. Nothing special about the burgers here either. Popular place with lots of kids. Update from a hot July 2025. Beer arrived after burger was delivered, this is the third time. I asked if I could get my drink at time of ordering or least before the food shows up, I was glibly told, sure. No, nope, not going to happen. My mid-week hiking group is not coming back here.
Very clean upscale burger joint but the menu does not really stand out much from the crowd. The truffle fries are pretty good though. The burger was okay but again not outstanding. Someone in our group had the spicy Nashville Chicken Burger but although they said it was okay, it was not something they would order again.
Seriously, Hopdoddy. It is 2025, and at this price point I expect a better veggie burger. El Bandito tastes like someone's first attempt at a veggie burger in 1990. As a vegetarian for over 30 years, I have eaten MANY veggie burgers. El Bandito rates at the very bottom of my list. The texture is a bit grainy (does it contain flax?) and it severely lacks flavor. I was happy to dine here when you offered the Impossible patty, but I think now I'd rather spend my $20 elsewhere. There are many places in ATX that offer a better options for vegetarians while still catering to the carnivores. What would bring me back? A better vegetarian patty option (Beyond or Impossible) or maybe even just a grilled portobello mushroom cap or bell pepper + grilled onion rings would make a nice swap option for the beef in any of your sandwiches. Or a grown-up grilled cheese sandwich.
We ordered two burgers, a fry, and Brussel sprouts totaling around 54 after tip. You heard it - 54 dollars! I was excited thinking they were going to be amazing. One of the burgers came out missing all of the toppings that we ordered and was overcooked to the point where it was like rubber. The brussel sprouts were dripping soggy in hot honey sauce which ruined them. After sending the burned burgers back, they came out less burnt but still way overdone. We ended up eating them anyway since we didn’t want to wait again. Something has happened to Hopdoddy. It’s not the restaurant it used to be. The attention to detail and quality ingredients in order to create a true gourmet burger has been lost. We won’t be going back. Austin Tip - Hatcreek is MUCH higher quality and half the price.
Burger was bland. Patty melt was very good. Chipotle ketchup and the queso fries were on point. But .. .the booth we sat in smelled like a dead mouse. We took a few bites and then got to-go boxes. We moved to the bar and told the bar tender why we moved. Absolutely no contact after that. Cold beer mugs for our flat draft beer.
This is the second time we've received fries that have been dropped in the fryer two or three times already for reheating before being served. For $10 frenchfries please just make a new batch for your customers instead of redropping the old fries. It makes them flavorless and gross. Please change the oil in the fryer. Our burgers were also so overdone that they were inedible. Spent $50 for two people. All the staff was very nice and friendly. It was just the food that sucked.
This is the first time I've ever been in and I don't believe I will be back. The burgers were just burgers, cookie cut and plain. The fries were soggy and unflavorful and greasy. The people behind the counter really didn't seem to care much. No smiles or greetings. I feel that it cost way too much for a burger and fries when I could go to Fuddruckers... When this burger bar first opened I remember it was kind of a big deal but I see no reason why.
Oil Change Destroyed the Chicken Quality They switched to grapeseed oil two days ago and completely ruined what was once the best chicken tenders we've ever had. The breading is now thick and soggy instead of thin and crispy, and there's zero flavor. It tastes like frozen grocery store chicken now. We called to complain, but honestly, don't order the chicken until they switch back. Went from a 5-star signature item to barely edible. Huge disappointment.
I got painfully sick from the happy hour sliders and my friend found long pieces/strips of plastic in hers the next day - upon going to heat them up in the microwave. We both ate two and took two to go. Gross. Insanely gross.
I tried to come here on father’s day, this was by far the worst experience i have ever had at a hopdoddys. this place is so poorly managed… first of all, we waited in line for 50 minutes when there was only 12 people on from of us… that’s over 4 minutes per person ordering, the register girl was soooo slow. and the sad part is she was up there all alone with no one to help even though there were two registers. the manager should have seen this and made an adjustment to get her some help asap. I understand places are understaffed as i am the GM of a fast-casual restaurant (cava) in the austin area but there could've been SOMETHING done different today to make that line move faster. when i finally got to the register they told me they were out of the kids tenders, which is incredibly inconvenient because i have a two year old autistic daughter that is lactose intolerance and doesn’t like red meat. so we left once this revalation occurred. Again i know how hard it is to run a restaurant given that i do it as a career and i love hopdoddys and have had good experiences with this location but this visit today left a very bad taste in my mouth and im not sure when or if ill be back.
First of all let’s talk about the place. the place not clean at all all the floor is very dirty And they not care to clean. Food was really bed the tuna burger was frozen and not able to even bite over it. Wish they were cook it a bit more and make it warm and not level it cold. Now let’s talk about service, David was really with attitude when I was complaining about the way the burger was cook and I really feel like I even didn’t need to come and ask for fix it. They can give better customer service and it will help them get better results. The only thing that was good it was the sweet potato fries. And let’s say that they didn’t have a regular fries when we try to order too.
I can’t even make this up. This is the “second chance” I shouldn’t have given Lil Doddy. This kitchen receipt was smushed up in my TWO YEAR OLD’s burger. It’s like it was caramelized with the onions and just slopped into the bun. I wouldn’t have caught it if I weren’t tearing his food apart.
Atmosphere was cool. The employees all looked like they hated each other, and life on general. Dull and frowns everywhere. Not friendly or kind at all. The food looked and seemed really good. Fries were decent, we got 3 different burgers to try. The ingredients on each of them mostly was cold and seemed not fresh. The grilled onions were limp, and seemed old. I do believe the burger mixes seemed like a good mix but need better cooks and fresh ingredients. The double bacon burger was way over cooked. Immediately walking to the car both of our stomachs were hurting. And when I got home, the outcome was not good. Definitely will not eat there again.
I eagerly ordered my burger and fries. However, to my dismay, the burger was hastily made, and some items weren't fully cooked. Despite Hopdoddy being my preferred burger spot, this particular location left me disappointed. I'll opt for the downtown experience, willing to invest a bit more for the quality I expect.
Very disappointing! Let me first say that the food is good, however the environment is unbearable and disgusting! This is the second time coming here this week and AC still not working and sooooo many flies! I couldn’t enjoy my food at all due to the environment. My husband couldn’t even finish his margarita because it was so hot and so many flies on our food and drinks. Even the ice in his margarita melted in the 15 min we were sitting there. Tables and floor were sticky. Very unsanitary! I won’t be coming back. Shame on the owners!
I have never been more disappointed coming home with food we paid a pretty penny for. Friday night my husband left the house to try this place and we were soooo hungry! The Buffalo burger looked amazing ON THE MENU and I ordered the doddy melt which was suppose to have 2 different cheeses. Here is what we picked up and came home to for the “Buffalo” burger which online and there has a picture of Buffalo sauce DRIPPING down the burger. The Pattie’s were over cooked and dried up. Just unbelievable. I am SHOCKED this place has treated our order like this and that anyone thinks this is acceptable especially when we paid $60 for our meal. We are local and it’s truly such a disappointment.
Closing at 9:25PM is crazy. Their normal business hours indicate they close at 11pm. The outdoor patio was closed, all the chairs were put up. Condiments were put into containers, and sweet tea was in a wide open pitcher with no lid— talk about germs. Service wasn’t the greatest but that’s typical. No salt and pepper shakers. Want salt? Go up to desk and they’ll just give you a condiment cup of it. On your last bite? Don’t worry employee will come and snatch your plate right off the table! At 9:25PM all employees were definitely MENTALLY CLOCKED OUT. Don’t spend the $50, take your business across the street to P.Terrys.
I hope this was due to the Friday night crowd but the food was awful. The burger and chicken lollipop came ice-cold. Probably they forgot them on the counter for half an hour at least. One more thing, Hopdoddy; please don’t fry fries that much. They become a tasteless wood in the end; brown, dry and tasteless.
We waited for almost an hour, and in the end it felt like our hamburgers had been waiting for us too — they were SO cold, and the fries were all burned. We used to be Hopdoddy fans, but this one is a big NO!!
An employee swiped my credit card information and used my card numerous times. It was the first time I used that card and only used it at this location and business so it's pretty obvious where this occurred. The employee was rude and malicious. Credit card fraud is a crime. Management and corporate office did NOT return my phone calls regarding this gross abuse and criminal activity. I will avoid all of their restaurants forever.
The quality in this place has gone down every year it has been open. The burgers taste pre-made and everything is always soggy and old trashing. My ahi tuna was minced fish. not a nice fillet and it was well done. Almost $20 for a terrible sandwich, yet again. Don't go here, downtown location is way better
Went in a couple weeks ago and the manager made us uncomfortable by randomly coming up and sitting in the booth with us ??? She talked our ears off and I felt like she might have been inebriated. We also heard her yelling at the staff which made us feel bad for them; because of these things we left early. Food was pretty good and the bartender was super nice but I dont think we'll be back if Sunday is working.
