Opiniones de Shangri La Austin
Christine is knowledgeable and friendly! I’m a bartender too & I gotta give props for her composure during a rush that would have had me stressed!
Shang is my favorite bar. I love coming here. The vibes are great. And my favorite bartender is Beth. She has the best personality and makes amazing drinks.
Shangri-La was a solid East Side stop — good drinks, chill patio, and classic Austin energy. The cocktails were better than expected and the vibe was easygoing, exactly what you want for a casual night out. Crazy part? I only found out after I left that there’s a hidden speakeasy inside. Didn’t even know it existed while I was there, so now I definitely want to go back and check it out. If you’re into laid-back drinks with a little mystery behind the scenes, Shangri-La’s worth a stop — and apparently has more to explore next time.
No one called me momma here, but some drunk guys ordered the Golden Castle sliders from the food truck. Were very proud about it. Came to me. Looked at mine. Asked, “are they good?” One asked for a high five. I gave it. Then he said “hand hug?” So I did. The bar plays great tunes until about 8. Then people take over the juke box and play their trash tunes. We should trust the bar to play the right tunes to match the vibe. They know what they’re doing.
Holland loves this bar. He told me a story about one time going here with a friend. That friend turned out to be Brat Pitt. He told me him and Bradley ate ham sandwiches at this very bar. Crazy right? Holland is a vergetarian too. I guess this the only bar that allows vergetarians to eat ham in the state of Texas. The ham was from Bradley's pig farm in Odessa. I went to the pig farm once and saw Bradley and George Clooney with Holland of course feeding the livestock ice cubes. I guess little piggies like ice cubes. Long story short, Holland loves this bar.
As a local, this is my favorite chill bar in austin. Easily the best music playlist on the east side. They have tons of outlets to charge up your phones and devices for work if needed. Seriously come here if you are in need of a safe space with strong drinks, great-priced food, and want the feel of being around locals. A mix of people here but everyone is always friendly and happy to see you. Huge indoor bar with pool tables, outdoor patio with food trucks (incredible mozzarella sticks) and a whole hidden speakeasy behind the garden. Usually all the real Texans will end up here. Jake at the speakeasy attachment, The Treasury is an austin gem. I love this place and im so happy my friend Joaquin, a bartender at the main bar told me about it. Tons of parking and great location close to hotels, corner stores, other bars/food spots.
We went to check out this place, because we wanted to go to the speakeasy in back. Upon first entry, a man greeted us and asked us about our visit and then pointed out the amenities and told us how to get to the speakeasy. At first, it was a little awkward being greeted that suddenly, but it was kind of cool too. We went straight to the back and didn’t really investigate the front bar or the patio area because it was 300° outside. We went to the speakeasy where it was pretty crowded but plenty of seating available. The bartender got to us within a relatively quick amount of time given that he was the only bartender. He mixed a good Old-fashioned as well. The only thing that I would say is I wish the lights were a little more dim in the speakeasy. And there was a little more music playing. It didn’t quite fit the speakeasy vibe that we thought we were going to get. With that said, I had a good experience overall, and I would definitely recommend stopping there and checking it out. Sorry I didn’t do more pictures…
One of my favorite bars in Austin. This place serves up hipster vibes with a great patio out in the backyard. Come here on a Thursday if you like to shoot some pool. Free pool Thursdays? Can’t beat it. They also have a golden tee like game along with a Photo Booth if you’re looking to get silly. Prices are fairly decent as well.
Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Great bartender. The food truck literally was just opening up (around 330-4pm) and had beef or chicken sliders, hot dogs, chicken nuggets--looks like descent bar food in others' pics. Drinks were surprisingly cheap and unsurprisingly great as I had this place recommended to me for such. Good A/C inside and a cute photo booth and pool table were around--lots of room outside with some shady nooks for hot days. I would make this place a regular haunt if I wasn't always trying new places, but even so, I'll go out of my way to return every month to at least kill 30 min. with a drink. 5 stars.
Really cool bar in East Austin that has the atmosphere of a neighborhood bar that feels like it’s been here a long time and doesn’t takes itself to seriously! The staff was very friendly and the prices of the drinks were also quite reasonable. I will definitely be coming back during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoor patio!
Shangri-La is a fun, laid-back bar that’s easy to like. The vibe is casual, drinks come out quick, and the prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. It can get loud and packed later in the night, but earlier it’s a nice spot to hang out and talk. Staff were cool and kept things moving. Good place to start the night or just grab a couple drinks with friends.
This place still hits. I prefer industry nights for fun skilled pool games (Sun-Tues) but you can have a good time any night of the week.
Cool little bar! Pool tables, outdoor patio with a taco truck. We'll be back.
I went here this past weekend, and it was my first time ever going to this place. I had saw it on a Instagram real where it showed that there was a hidden speakeasy “The Treasury” within this bar, so I messaged some friends asking them if they wanted to check it out. I was super impressed with the overall layout and how cool calm and collected this little hole in the wall was. I was really impressed with their cocktail drinks that they were serving and just the overall vibe of the place. It was super cute and such a clever idea to have this little hidden gem within the bar/restaurant. Look for the greenlight!
This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Everyone besides the door guy is absolutely rude and disrespectful. If you’re looking at reviews to decide where to go trust me on this: anywhere but this place. Never in 10 years of going out have I seen such disgusting customer service.
They only do glass drinks before certain hours. Other than, you get a plastic cup. That’s what I was told when I ordered my drink. Very rude bartender! What a joke :)
