Delicious food, fresh, hot and big size portion. Recommended place.
My family was in search of authentic Mexican food while on vacation and this place ticked all the boxes! The staff were absolutely wonderful, they gave us all their recommendations and answered all our questions. We told them we like spice and they brought us extra sauces to try! We will absolutely be back every time we visit Orlando.
Very good food. The lady brought out some good chips and salsa and then asked if we wanted something más caliente, but of course, and she brought more chips with this brilliant habanero sauce. Super filling, loved the way they did the rice and beans. The steak chimichangas were great.
Best Mexican restaurant around. So authentic! Food id fantastic! We drive an hour to get here and it is certainly worth the ride! Also they have a fantastic bakery next door. Additionally, they just redecorated and it is even nicer than before!
Stopped in on the way running errands, my fiance said "I'm just gonna have a bite of my burrito before we get going" and that is an empty plate 😆 😆 😆 I wish I'd gotten a before picture lol! Not only is the food delicious, the portion sizes are great, but I personally love the art on all the chairs and tables!!
The food here is SOOO good and authentic! The prices are amazing and the staff is so caring! I love their food so much
Amazing Latino, Mexican food in massive quantities. We enjoyed shrimp fajitas and burritos. Could have easily fed a family of four. Friendly customer service and delicious Mexican food options. Seem to be a local favorite. It's right next to home Depot in the nearby plaza. Highly recommend bringing your family and friends if you are in the area.
We discovered the market place next door while on a trip to Home Depot. It was amazing. Everything was clean and well organized and they have a wide variety of Hispanic products. The bakery items looked so delicious. My son bought a pastry and he said it was very fresh. I also noticed an ice cream counter. We’ll check that out in another visit!
I had the pleasure of dining at Tortilleria Restaurant El Progreso on several occasions, starting in 2019, and I always look forward to returning. My go-to dish is the Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla, which comes with a side of refried beans and yellow rice. I love the consistency and taste of this meal it’s simple but flavorful. The avocado salad is also a refreshing addition, adding a nice balance to the richness of the quesadilla. Over the years, from 2019 through 2021, I found myself ordering the same thing each time because it has become my favorite. The flavors are always on point, and the portion sizes are generous. Whether you're looking for a satisfying lunch or dinner, this place always delivers great comfort food. Tortilleria Restaurant El Progreso is definitely a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Mexican cuisine!
We were at the Home Depot and saw this place, w e love Mexican food, so decided to give it a try. We were amazed!! Service is really friendly, best soft tortillas I’ve had outside of Mexico! Food was amazing and prices are very reasonable. We will be coming back very soon 😀
Oh my gosh what fun I’m here at Progresso Tortilleria restaurant + supermarket, ice cream shop and more… Just had the torta mexicana / cubana omg! Amazing atmosphere. They have mariachis here on Sundays- it’s my first time here and I’m definitely coming back. It’s got a beautiful Supermarket as well with authentic Mexican grocery and an ice cream shop! Definitely recommend something to do for everyone in the family unit!
I was blown away with this place. The food is phenomenal. For a little less than 40.00 both my girlfriend and I ate some real Mexican food and we were beyond full. Serving size was great and the service is perfect. Go for the food at the restaurant, shop at their mini grocery store or their meat and produce section. Everything there is 100% Mexican. We loved it so will you. We ordered the Molcajete.
We ordered the Parrillada de la Casa, and it was delicious and huge (perfect for two people in my opinion). The atmosphere was cozy, and the music made the experience even more enjoyable. I felt really comfortable throughout the meal!
Great service! Thank you Leydi! Authentic Mexican food, great meat in the BBQ, tamales were great, same with the corn with cheese. The drinks are called “-aguas” and they are delicious! Service was great. Leydi was very attentive and provide excelent service, with a great attitude and a smile!
The food was excellent and the service is out standing my brother had the birria tacos and i had the barbacoa torta we both washed them down with 32oz beers

Food is delicious, family ambience, fruit drinks. The service starts after entering, the team work is visible, thats the key to success in the food market. Our server Mey suggested the selected food, 3 Amigos (shrimp, steak and chicken)… and the 2 amigos was for me 😂 (Chicken and Shrimp). For dessert a tres leches was the winner. Definitely this joint is in our list or regular dining.

I love this place! It’s probably one of the best if not the best tacos I’ve had in Orlando. The food is always fresh and very tasty. I’ve tried the tacos and other dishes but my favorite dishes here are the fajitas; the steak, shrimp, chicken or mixed they are all DELICIOUS. Last time we tried the molcajete, and it was so much yummy meats we couldn’t finish it. This place never disappoints.

BRO we are 16 and we came here with only $10 after school and Camila C treated us so well and nice we love her thank you. ❤️
Pretty nice restaurant good food and excellent service from Leydi. Always quick to come out with the food and always on point! Drinks here are also very good!
The food is delicious and authentic. I really recommend this place if you want good food, good service and a nice atmosphere
Everything about this place is perfect. The food is great and the service is friendly. We also love the attached grocery, which has everything from fresh cheese and paletas to chapulinas and epazote. Anyone looking for high quality Mexican food will appreciate this magical spot.
Food is always well prepared and fresh. Viviana served us today and was attentive to our table and kids:) Portions are a nice size and the kids meals are always great.
What a great restaurant! The vibes are family friendly and welcoming. Great hosts and servers who are super attentive. We had Mey, as our server and she was amazing! I have been going here for over a year now and they have never failed to disappoint me.
Best and freshest Mexican food in town. At least the best that I've tried. We brought several people and tried a lot of different dishes. Everything was fabulous. The Margarita was pretty good too. We will be back soon.
Decided to try this place after visiting the Home Depot. Some cooks were grilling whole chickens and we went inside the shop to inquire. The place is split grocery a store and restaurant. The store has produce, a meat counter, canned items, and a bakery. They also sell some household items too. With the restaurant, you seat yourself. We were greeted almost immediately. The menu is in Spanish and English. Chips and salsa are complimentary. I had the beef tongue taco ($2) and bistec burrito ($6.99). The burrito came with refriend beans and rice. My friend had the Pechuga Mexican which was chicken served with veggies, rice, and a side of tortillas. Very large portions and filling!
The food was amazing and affordable. Customer service was also too notch. Lady was my server, she is very attentive, I will definitely be back.
Best Mexican restaurant in the area. Good prices!
Staff speaks limited English but it's worth the effort to communicate, food was great and large portions.

THE BEST AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD DELISHHHH.. Our first time here, but let me tell you... Staff friendly, we were seated right away. They have two seccions for seating, large tables and confy chairs. We ordered the Molcajete, and that thing is for two, has chicken, steak, chorizo, shrimp wrapped with bacon, grilled veggies with melted cheese, with two sides of rice and beans. OMG... Recommend a 100%
Great food! The employees are also very nice, thank you to the manager/boss for helping me out (carnitas)! Atmosphere was amazing too!
For all you Floridians who dont know any better, this place is LEGIT. Moved here from California 2.5 years ago and haven’t found anything close to this. If you want to eat like a real Mexican come here.
If you are craving for tacos this is the place. I order a combo, three steaks hard tacos with rice refried beans. Choice of salsa, spicy or not. Delicious. Server was awesome
Was on the hunt for lengua and tripa tacos and I came across this gem in my google searches. It is a restaurant connected to a grocery store. The restaurant is beautiful painted down to the tables and chairs! I ordered an assortment of tacos to try (carnitas, lengua, tripa, carne asada). The tripa was crispy and light. The lengua was soft and melt in mouth. The red salsa is delicious. I also had a cantaloupe agua Fresca and it was amazing! Highly recommend for authentic street tacos. Service was great. My waitress helped answer any questions I had and was attentive :)
It's a good place to eat only thing I thought was different was there refried beans I've had them in San Antonio Texas and Houston you know in that area and they just have a totally different tastes and what they do in that restaurant but but all good all the rest is good that's the only thing I didn't like👍
Great chimichanga and margaritas! Affordable too. No complaints whatsoever.
I'm from San Diego Originally, and this reminds me of home. Great food. 10 stars.
Great food fast service and great price!!!
I can only rate the 5x I've been here over the past 2 years for breakfast. I get the same thing& juevos rancheros and I haven't found another place that does it better. Eggs are perfect medium and serves with rice, beans, and tortillas.

Pretty good Mexican food! Everything was delicious, and I’m really happy to finally find a great Mexican restaurant here in Orlando. Definitely coming back. 🌮😋

My server was Leidy! She did an excellent job explaining the menu and provided everything needed to make my experience amazing! The food was the best I have ever eaten in Orlando. Outside of Mexico…
Oh em gee! The food was delicious! I got tacos and horchata! \n\nThey have a little shop with a bakery and an ice cream shop. \n\nGave me good vibes

La horchata y los tacos de Camarón mas ricos en todo central Florida. El servicio es excelente y el ambiente muy bueno. Totalmente recomendados.
Food is amazing, service was awesome, ambiance was amazing, prices were good. I also shopped on their market area. They have it all. I love this place.
The decor is beautiful and the service was friendly and helpful. As an American who doesn't eat a lot of mexican food, I really enjoyed my food. It was excellent! I went there with a good friend wh…
Ordered Uber Eats delivery- sooo good had to post. We ordered 2 menudos (Mexican hangover food), a lengua burrito, carne asada platter for a gluten intolerant person, a taco de nopal & a birria one…
Azalea Park, FL. If you ask my friend where she’s from she’ll say Mexico; “My family has lived in Mexico in the same place for generations—-until it became Texas.” When I asked her the best place for Mexican food she said Tortilleria El Progreso. “They have the best tortillas, my son gets them for my birthday.” We live kinda far from the restaurant but her family loves the food here and if she and her gringo husband can make the drive we figured it must be really good. So my hubby and I finally drove up on a weekday errand and came here for lunch. One bite of his chicken flauta and his eyes opened wide. “Ohh Shirley might be right that this is the best Mexican food,” he remarked. He and his brother haven’t had much luck finding good flautas in Florida but these were delicious. Also the refried beans were some of the best we’ve ever had. My pozole was good like as if Grandma made it, with great flavor and lots of fatty pork chunks, two potato chunks and hominy. With it came lime wedges, diced white onion, jalapeños and cilantro. They offered corn or flour tortillas on the side and they were hot and super fresh. The chips and guacamole, red sauce and tomatillo sauce were all great. They didn’t add cumin or a lot of cilantro, just fresh tomatoes, tomatillos, and onions depending on the type of sauce it was. The green sauce packed the most heat. I found the chips slightly tough. Nice music (accordion, soulful vocals and Mexican hits) and the back room is pretty flashy. Our booth seats were cowhide in appearance , soft but kinda smeared with salsa, so if you hate germs bring sanitizer and sit at the tables with black leather seats. Next time I’ll try the tamales. Update on 5/2025: Came here for a friend’s birthday. Thank you to the lovely servers who sang for her with a bubble machine and tambourine!!! My friends and I enjoyed our burritos, salads and enchiladas!
The atmosphere is wonderful, between the details in the chairs, tables, and decor. You can't help but feel as though you're in another region. The staff was attentive, quick, and caring with the service and comfort of their patrons. The only letdown was that the meat in our tacos seemed bland. Everything appeared to be reasonably portioned, but the meat just couldn't be tasted over the other ingredients. Overall, I'll be going again in hopes of getting a better experience in the food, I would still recommend giving them a try.

I buy my fresh made tortillas from her and pick up Juice.
This place is a genuine Mexican market with an accompanying restaurant. Everything is fresh and made to order. For the products all I have to say is if you want it straight from Mexico or Central America this is the spot. By the way the picture of the homemade ice cream does no justice too the flavor. We ordered coconut, elote, mango, and chocolate. The price for the large one is one dollar the price for the small one is 50 cents. I challenge anyone to find fresh ice cream for that much money! check out this hidden gem! Just don't forget to tell me what you thought.
I had a party and needed some prepared food, they sell great by the pound carne asada, pastor, carnitas, chicken, etc. with lime and cilantro, and also side dishes. Save the day!!!
Tortilleria El Progreso is a really good authentic Mexican restaurant right off Colonial in Orlando! Not only is their food tasty, it is quite reasonable in price! We visited right at the end of the day 20 minutes before closing, which at many places would be the worst time to get food (as the food would be the least fresh), but here our food still tasted fresh - way more than many other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to! We got a variety of different tacos: lengua, cabeza, barbacoa, al pastor, and chorizo, as well as a horchata and a quesabirria plate with cactus and refried beans. Out of the food we ordered, I would highly recommend the al pastor and chorizo tacos as well as the horchata - all three of these were the best I’ve ever had!! I would say you can skip the lengua, cabeza and quesabirria (though the cactus and refried beans were great - be sure to try them if you order a different plate). The lengua and cabeza were not nearly as good as the al pastor and chorizo, and the quesabirria had some bones in the meat, so you might want to avoid that one. Overall, still a great place, and I would definitely try it again - especially considering the pricing is good! Check this place out if you’re craving Mexican food!
This was a weird experience as we had ordered delivery, but still called ahead to double check our orders and request something that we couldn't via the online portal. The delivery service was …
Really good authentic mexican food. Their breakfast is great. Try their huevos divorciados. The green chile sauce is amazing. Also, they have the best tortillas in the city. They are made fresh and…
Came here for looking forward to a mangonada. It was good but pricey for a regular size is $8.99 Also got nachos but pricey too. It was also $8.99 just for cheese and jalapeños. Could have just gotten it was 7-11 or something. For the price they charge for the nachos could have added other condiment such as tomatoes, onions, sour cream also chives etc..... They do have variety of Mexican ice cream to choose from to smoothies, drinks and ice cream cones if that is what you are looking for inside while grocery shopping for Mexican items, bakery and etc....

All the food at el progreso was amazing. The food never fails to make my day. Although the pricing is what my real problem is. 6 dollars for a 32 oz modelo in there grocery side of the building but I have to pay 12 bucks! For it at the table. I honestly think that’s a rip off. So WARNING tall modelos will cost you a penny. El servicio es de lo mejor, gracias a todos las mesaras por la dedicación. Se los agradezco.
Food is always amazing. I don't like that fact that they don't clean the tables properly and the floors look dirty. Also some of the waitresses you have to waive them down because the do not check up on you for refill of water. Also two times the guacamole was not good. Was completely left and they still charged it. I notice when they are rushing the service and food lack.
This is a really great spot for Mexican food, not only is really authentic it’s also super fresh. If you are looking for a place to eat authentic Mexican food this is the spot, I recommend trying the tacos, specifically the “Al pastor” and “Carne Asada”. If you don’t speak Spanish you might have issues with the waitress, also, their customer services is not the best but it’s passable because of the good food.
This is a store/meat and goods market. They have expanded and added a meat market with produce, beverages and bakery market and they also have a nicely decorated restaurant next door. They have a wide variety of hispanic foods and other goods. The only bad thing about this place is the customer service, it is lacking. The manager is somewhat helpful but doesn't know exactly what he sells or has in stock and this is makes it frustrating. We have purchased from the market and dined at the restaurant. At the restaurant, we waited to be even a knowledged at the register while all the waitress ignored us and didn't bother to say anything at all. The restaurant is usually packed on weekends and unless you're a big party, the waitress will not bother to give you great service or even be friendly. The market does have lots of hard to find sweets, foods and produce. However, we only come back to the market just for the drinks and conchas.
Food wasn't as Mexican seasoned food, but ok. Service was fast and the atmosphere was relaxing! The art work, decorations and variety of food, meats and bakery seemed reasonable.
Tortillería El Progreso has delicious and authentic Mexican food, no doubt about it — the flavors are on point and the dishes taste truly homemade. However, the atmosphere doesn’t match the concept at all. If you’re looking for a real, traditional Mexican spot, the vibe is completely off. They constantly play bachata and salsa, which have nothing to do with Mexican culture. They should redefine their concept — either embrace a Latin fusion identity or stay true to being authentically Mexican

I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant since I first moved here, and I truly believe it serves the most authentic Mexican food in Florida. However, my experience on Friday evening was disappointing due to unprofessional service. When I called to place my order, the first person I spoke to hung up on me, likely because my Spanish isn’t perfect. I called back, and thankfully, a different employee answered and was much more courteous. She took my order, but when I got home, I realized it was incorrect. I called the restaurant to explain that I wasn’t willing to drive another 40 minutes (20 minutes each way) just to fix their mistake. Instead of offering a refund, I overheard an employee in the background saying, “What are we going to do if she doesn’t want to come back?” As if expecting a customer to make another long trip for something they messed up is reasonable. Now, I’m stuck eating something I don’t even like—steak—frustrated by how this situation was handled.
Ive been comming for years bit today it was super bad i order same fahitas with shrimp chicken and beef neat so today they serve me only 3 shrimps my beef meet almost toasted and chicken over cooked told the waitress and she said they normally give 5 shrimp but they couldn't give me the 2 shrimp o was missing but I saw another table gets same. Plate with like 6 shrimps I would never come back everything wlse was bad I closing the service I credible
Absolutely terrible service, just having good food is not enough, there was a rubber band in my moms food and she almost choked on it, when this was brought up to the waiter nothing was done about it... never ever coming back, that is disgusting and they should be ashamed to disregard that issue.
