Really nice place. Wish we could have eaten in the restaurant, but I guess the have a policy that if you come in after 10, you have to order for takeout. Just remember to keep that in mind if you visit. Pizza was great and the environment was nice and welcoming.

My wife and I sat here regularly. The pizza is always great and the salad bar is awesome. It's competitively priced with other pizza shops, but better than most.

Pizza is delicious. My fiancé and I got the couples combo and it was perfect more than enough. Our second time eating here we will keep coming definitely one of our favorite spots now. Update 5/3/24: Ordered a pep pizza via DoorDash and I will say the flavor was great! One of the best tasting pizzas I’ve had. Only issue this time was it wasn’t cut all the way through. When grabbing a slice the pizza would just tear…flavor made up for it though…Also, I have been there for the lunch pizza a couple times and it was also delicious.

Great food & atmosphere. A little pricey. A 1 trip to the salad bar is $10. You have to pay for every condiment, like ranch for your fried pickles. I bought the 1 trip salad bar & asked for something to put ranch in, I was told they couldn't give me anything cause you have to pay for extra ranch, you can't get it from the bar, even though I already paid for it. Other than that it was good food.

I accidentally placed an order at the wrong location and immediately called both stores to try and correct it. The team member at the Hageman location was incredibly kind and willing to help transfer the order to the Ashe location without issue. However, when I called the Ashe location, I spoke with an employee named Chris, who was dismissive and unhelpful. He claimed confusion and asked me to call back. When I did, I was fortunate to get Leslie on the phone, who was more than happy to assist. Unfortunately, I could hear Chris in the background pushing back against her efforts to provide great customer service, saying he wouldn’t approve the transfer. This experience left me deeply disappointed. Two team members were kind, understanding, and willing to fix an honest mistake. Meanwhile, Chris’s unwillingness to help and his negative attitude stood in stark contrast. I live just two minutes away from the Ashe location, and it’s disheartening to be treated this way—especially when both locations are part of the same company. I truly hope Chris receives guidance on how to better support customers and work as a team. A simple act of grace and cooperation would have gone a long way.

For the price you pay for the pizza here I would think you would be better served across the street at Pieology.

Good tasting pizza but skimpy with toppings.

Pizza was pretty good, service was not great. They were out of what we ordered originally. Had to keep reminding them to bring the rest of our order.

Everything tasted great but it comes out on a crazy timeline. We ordered the pizza, wedges, and wings & the crispy green beans appetiser. Told the girl up front I might come back up to order a beer but I wasn't sure yet. After sitting down and waiting on the pizza, decided beer would be good with pizza so I went back to the front to order. After waiting in line the same girl said, "oh you can't order that here you have to go to the bar." She couldn't have told me when we first ordered? Go to the bar, bartender is great, beers are all one standard size, come back to the table. Pizza is eventually delivered. It took about 20 minutes or so. I get it, it's decently busy and there are to-go orders as well. It is by far the best pizza in town. Over 5 minutes after we finished our pizza the wings showed up. They had crisp skin and lots of sauce. The garlic wings tasted bright with a hint of lemon. A few minutes later our appetiser & wedges showed up. The green beans were fresh crispy & bright, served with tasty ranch. The wedges were crispy outside and hot & fluffy inside. Best wedges in town. After the woman dropped them off a guy from the kitchen walked over to us and grabbed the basket of wedges and said, "we're going to go ahead and let you keep this because we messed up and dropped it at the wrong table." I looked at him and said, "You mean the wedges that are part of the pizza, wedges, and wings?" He looked embarrassed and put our food back on the table and said, "oh, you got that? Yeah." Don't ever-EVER-grab a guest's food after when they're eating it. The food is great but the service (outside of the bar and the woman delivering food from the kitchen) is subpar. At the end we closed our tab at the bar after just the 1 beer. The bartender was running around the entire restaurant bussing tables but saw me walk up to the bar, and let me know she'd be right with me- which she was. Tl/dr: food is great service is meh.

Was asked twice if we asked for fresh mushrooms. Pizza came with CANNED mushrooms! 😡😡

Waited and hour and didn't get our food. I requested a refund which they gave me, but never once did they apologize. The girls in the back were too busy chit-chatting but their personal lives instead of trying to help the customer. Never will I go there again.

I ordered a pick order of Pizza and buffalo boneless chicken wings. They were good! Service was slow. Since my phone order was taken by the bartender I had to pay at the bar. I was waiting in line to pay my bill the bartender was cashing customers out taking cash and credit cards. The bartender continues to cut oranges never once washed her hands prior since she was handling cash and credit cards. She was even drinking out of her water cup. I understand this is week 2 of grand opening but they is not good hygiene. The manager should think about doing a reset on cleanliness and sanitation. I’m glad I didn’t order a drink there that was made unsanitary.

Pizza not up to par.Been eating pizza at 6 different Straw Hat locations for 40 years and by far this has been the most disappointing. Pizza kinda taste the same but service really slow and hot hats have been the worst . I would suggest the owner go to Cerritos location or even Exeter’s or even Santa Maria’s location and taste there pizza and hot hats . Was a customer. I ordered some cheesy bread but it was cold by the time I got so took it back. When they brought it back to me, 2 of the slices didn't have cheese on them. Oh, I wish they would sell the cheesy bread individually for like $1.29 or something like that. It's more of a appetizer, not a main meal

You come here and spend $40.00 on a little pizza and potato’s and they won’t give you any ranch without paying extra which I feel is not good business. For me it’s the little things that make a place worth going back to. The food has to be good and the service should be great. This food was ok but overpriced for what you get. Placed an online order, website said order would be ready 15 mins after placing order but in fact wasn’t ready for 45 minutes. Employees have zero urgency to produce orders, and zero apology for not doing their job. Employee blamed management for not scheduling enough employees. Go figure!

Placed 100 dollar order. Wife wasn't aware of what was ordered. At the time of pickup, she signed the merchant receipt, but wasn't given a receipt and brought home the food she was given. Noticed 2 liter soda was missing, no biggie. We called and the lady was reactive and rude, stating she gets busy and we could come get a 2 liter today or tomorrow if we wanted to. She blamed my wife for not checking the receipt, she never gave her, rather than apologizing or taking any accountability for her own mistake. We will never return. Make sure to check your food for hair got a salad. Went with hubby to get 2 lunch specials at 11-11:30 am today. The pizza took about 25 minutes to arrive, which was fine but by the time my family and I finished eating and went to ask for a box, the kitchen staff suddenly ran out and brought the wedges and pickles we had been waiting over 40 minutes for. It honestly felt like a tactic to avoid giving us a refund. The woman at the front counter wasn’t very welcoming and lacked basic customer service skills. On top of that, the booth wall where we were seated had grease stains, and there was visible trash on the floor and around the ordering area. For the price, the quality and portion sizes just didn’t match up. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

We asked for a Salad mind you it was 7:30pm and her response was “it’s already the end of the day and I’m not cutting anymore lettuce” I found that unprofessional could’ve worded it different. (Lady had colored eyes might need a bit of training)

Two days in a row. I've tried to place an order for pickup while I'm on my lunch break and I'm on hold forever. I finally had to click over get another call. I call back again and they placed me on a hold. Again, if you're trying to place an order of the phone it will never happen

LOCATION : STRAW HAT PIZZA, 6314 ASHE RD, BAKERSFIELD, CA 93313 INCIDENT : 09/16/2025, AROUND 1 TO 1:30 PM THIS IS MY FIRST TIME TO VIST STRAW HAT PIZZA. I WENT IN AND ORDERED A LARGE "ALOHA CHICKEN PIZZA" FOR $28.99. I TOLD THE LADY RECEIVING MY ORDER IF I CAN REPLACE BACON AND HAM, SHE NODDED IN AGREEMENT. AS SHE WAS PUTTING THE ORDER IN THE REGISTER, I REMINDED HER AGAIN TO REPLACE BACON AND HAM WITH PINEAPPLE AND ONION. BEFORE SHE FINALIZE MY ORDER, SHE ASKED ME WHAT WERE THOSE TOPPING THAT I WANT TO REPLACE, I SAID PINEAPPLE AND ONION. SHE HANDED ME THE PRINTED RECEIPT FOR ME TO SIGN. I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THE BILL CAME OUT TO BE $35.62. I ASKED HER WHY IT CAME OUT TO BE $35.62, SHE SAID THAT I WAS CHARGED $2.50 FOR THE PINEAPPLE AND $2.50 FOR THE ONION. I TOLD HER I REQUESTED THAT FOR A REPLACEMENT , NOT AN ADD ON. SHE TOLD ME THERE IS/WAS AN EXTRA CHARGED OF $2.50 FOR EVERY EXTRA TOPPING , OF WHICH, SHE NEVER EXPLAIN THAT TO ME. ON THE RECEIPT, IT SHOWS NO BACON, NO HAM, BUT SHE DID NOT DEDUCT $5.00 FOR BOTH TOPPINGS THAT WERE REMOVED . I TOLD HER I WANT TO CANCEL AND ASKED HER FOR A REFUND. SHE SAID SHE DO NOT DO REFUND AS SHE ALREADY COMPLETED THE SALE. I REQUESTED TO TALK TO THE MANAGER ( FOR CLARITY SAKE) . SHE SAID SHE IS THE MANAGER AND LEFT THE REGISTER AND WENT TO THE BACK AND LEFT ME AT THE REGISTER ALONE, FOR A WHILE. I DID A QUICK PHONE CALL AND CAME BACK TO THE REGISTER RIGHT AFTER. I REQUESTED FOR HER TO ASKED HER NAME, SHE SAID SHE DO NOT AND WILL NOT GIVE HER NAME TO ME. SHE ASKED ME IF I WANT IT IN THE BOX, I RESPONDED TO HER " DIDN'T I TOLD YOU I WANT TO CANCEL THAT ORDER ?" SHE IS/WAS COMPLETELY INSENSITIVE TO THE NEED/S, REQUEST/S AND CONCERN OF THE CUSTOMER, ALONG WITH HER VERY UNPLEASANT AND UNWELCOMING ATTITUDE AND APPROACHED TOWARDS THE CUSTOMER WHILE REPRESENTING THE BRAND SHE WORK FOR "....STRAW HAT PIZZA." WHAT A CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE IN ANY PIZZA PLACE , NOT ONCE BUT AT STRAW HAT PIZZA IN THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION. AFTER MY FIRST HAND EXPERIENCED AT THIS PLACE, I HAD TO SHARE THIS INCIDENT TO THE REST OF THE CONSUMERS HOPING THAT THIS POOR ,UNJUST AND UNSATISFACTORY CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE.

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed. I spent $77 on a large pizza, wedges, fried pickles, and four drinks.
