Stumbled on this place enroute to another restaurant & thought it looked more interesting and authentically Basque. We were not disappointed & it ended up as one of our best meals in Spain. Highlights were morcilla, patatas bravas, stewed rabbit, and the coffee flan/fried milk for dessert. But everything was great. Laid back but cool atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
I came for a quick bite and was a bit confused when I walked in, as everyone seemed too busy to greet new customers. I found a spot at the bar and enjoyed the pintxos, which were all flavorful and exotic, all at once melting in our mouths. After all, it's Barcelona—you really can't go wrong with pintxos here.
Great basque restaurant in the heart of Barcelona. We really enjoyed the outstanding pintxos with boquerones and the star dish for us was the grilled calamari which was perfectly cooked. Service was attentive and easy going! You’ll also notice that there is a loyal customer base that frequent this restaurant.
Nice and cozy restaurante with a great variety of tapas and a delicious sangria. The staff was friendly and for once we felt welcomed at a restaurant in Barcelona. The croquetes are extremely delicious! Will definetly be back there whenever a visit Barcelona gain. I’d recommend you to visit it
If you want to sit and enjoy a delicious meal and atmosphere in the heart of Barcelona, this is the place. with a sober atmosphere to the rhythm of soft and pleasant music by Bruce Springsteen. Good atmosphere, delicious food, good price. A clean and familiar environment. Not least, if you want to watch your soccer game there is TV but without invading the atmosphere. when local people enter a place that is a good sign.
walked here because of the nice rating and we where not disappointed 👍 vigilant service with a smile and good tasting food at a nice price.. lots of people came including locals.. there where small "sandwiches" 🥪 with a big variety (at the entrance) that you can grab to get a quick bite and they where very nice.. i really like the catalán styled bread with tomato 🍅

I recently visited this restaurant with my partner, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It had an instant charm of rustic cuisine, offering authentic flavors that felt both traditional and inviting. The standout dishes for us were the artichokes with ham and asparagus, along with the peppers stuffed with cod — a delightful blend of ingredients that showcased the kitchen’s skill. The tortilla was also quite tasty, providing a solid addition to our meal. While the bread with tomatoes and croquetas were good, they were not as good as the other dishes
This place is cozy and nice for a quick bite. It is old and is located in the hear of Gothic Quarter. Th food quality is acceptable. Some of the food that we ordered was slightly salty, but maybe that’s just the nature of cured meat. Anyway, everything is simple there. Definitely worth the money u spend there.
Coz little spot... not to busy. A great selection of tapas. However the bread was a little too hard for our liking. Biting into the tapas with the hard bread at the bottom makes it a little challenging. We got 4 different tapas and el cuatro sandwich which my husband and i split. Overall good food, just wish that the bread was a little softer.
Friendly staff with reasonable pricing. We ordered a liter of sangria, two tapas (roasted spicy green peppers and mushrooms with ham). The green peppers are light and crispy..not greasy. The mushrooms with ham were a bit salty but moist. Got a sauteed cod and for $13.50€ was a bit disappointing. Not to our liking. Other skewered items at the counter were also very nice for 1.50€. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Overall, a positive dining experience!
Very delicious tapas at affordable prices. The ambience is cosy. Their speciality, the tortilla huevos with patata bravas is delightfully tasty. We also had the pan con tomate, a Catalan dish consisting of toasted baguette with tomatoes. Definitely a nice staple to go with the Serrano ham with mushrooms.
We went here on our way to Picasso museum! We went by the ratings but we were a little disappointed! I think it’s great if you are looking for a local diner experience… They forgot our appetizer, sangria did boot have any fruit, and the food was decent in taste. Service was decent … music was great that was the saving grace! Ambience was very dinner like! Not sure I would rate this higher
My wife said “I haven’t eaten canned vegetables since I lived with my mother.” We came here because the neighborhood paella place that some locals sent us to was closed for the month of August, and it was getting late, and we were both cranky and hungry. We found this place here on Google Maps, rated 4.4 stars as of this writing. I’m not gonna sugar coat it. The food was pale, salty, soggy and gross. “Paella” dish was in a paella pan, consisted of grey canned peas, green beans and artichoke, and inconsistently-cooked eggs. Pan con tomate is a no-brainer. Chain coffee shops use great bread. This place served it on a spongy “Italian” white-bread roll. I ordered a dish that purported to be a delicacy made with baby eels, spicy peppers and fried eggs. The eels were mostly flavorless, and could have been buttered noodles. The peppers were sliced red bell peppers in vinegar, like the type you might get on a sandwich at Subway. The eggs were... not great. Our starter was a 9 euro “pastry pie” with crab sauce, leeks and langosteen shrimp. What came out was a very soft sliced loaf of mush drowned in thick beige sauce. This was not a cheap meal. Everything came out of a can, and tastes bland at best and gross on balance. My wife and I are torn between trying to find better food, to wipe away the memory, and just heading back to our hotel, as we’re both feeling a bit queasy. I’d give it zero stars if possible. My second regret, after eating here, is that I cannot drag the average rating down far enough to save others from this experience. Do yourself a favor and look up Story, which is right around the corner, for delicious, fresh, inspired food with friendly service for comparable prices. Plus, their house vermouth, made with fresh rosemary, is excellent.
