A cute, top-notch brunch place in Sawtelle! The food is excellent: we enjoyed one of the best salmon benedicts we've ever had, and a breakfast sandwich that is savory and satisfying without leaving you feeling sluggish. If that isn't enough, the staff are friendly and the place is dog-friendly.

Right when you walk into this place you are greeted with much attentiveness, the staff is very friendly and efficient! Julio's Cafe Belen lives up to the hype. Amazing food all around, and apparently, 80% of the entire menu is organic. The short rib burrito was unique and a perfect 10. The two fried eggs on top satisfied my desire for a breakfast burrito while being on the lunch menu. The French toast and sweet potato fries were fantastic. Our friends agreed that their food was also excellent. Great cappuccino and matcha late. The strip mall vibe was well masked by the attractive decor in the sitting area outdoors.

Café Belen is a true gem in West Los Angeles, owned by a fellow Uni High graduate who I met for the first time, Juan. I learned that Juan is from Belen, Guatemala. Cozy with both indoor and outdoor seating, it's ideal for dining in or taking out for all ages and all palates, too. From the beautiful orchid to the strawberries and blueberries arranged like a flower on the pancakes, we appreciated all of the thoughtful additions to our wonderful meal. What we ordered: I had the Egg White Fit Scramble—a flavorful and satisfying mix of vegetables: roasted broccoli, zucchini, onions, spinach, mozzarella cheese, and avocado, served with fresh fruit and toast. My husband enjoyed Belen’s Favorite, which included sunny-side-up eggs, fluffy buttermilk pancakes with berries, and chicken sausage. From their refreshing and healthy beverage options, I chose the ginger lemonade, which was bright, zesty, and absolutely delicious. I am sharing what's on the menu because there's lots I want to try! That makes it a great choice to eat at this restaurant and try the other foods on the menu as well.

Come for dinner!!! - my ribeye was super super good, tender, perfectly cooked, and the chipotle mashed potatoes were triumphant. Delightful vibe and a welcome evening transformation for my favorite breakfast cafe.

This is a great spot for lunch! Had the perfect amount of options. The lattes are delicious and the calamari I ordered was so yummy. Very attentive staff and friendly. I had the glaze salmon bowl. Very good!

Great new cafe in the area with excellent food, good prices, and solid drinks. I need to try a lot more of their offerings before giving 5 stars, but we came for brunch and really enjoyed their Chinese Chicken Salad (maybe wrong name) and Frittata. A lot of flavor to everything and tasted fresh. Prices: -Drinks: $5-10 -Entrees: $15-25 -Coffee: $5-8 Service was a little slow due to 2 servers for about 12 tables, but that's the only possible complaint I could give. Looking forward to trying it out more.

I know a lot of reviews talk about it, but it’s the kind of quality you have to experience for yourself. The sandwich overall felt very fresh and well-balanced without being too saucy, bready, or leafy. The portion was also very sizable; I saved half for lunch the next day. It felt like a true community establishment; service was great! It also looks like it would be a great place to study or work with the outlets and nicely sized tables. The fake candles looks a little bit odd, but it was an overall cozy ambiance.

First off was the toast, came with runny eggs on top, a nice addition. However, the whole thing was bland. It literally tasted like eating egg yolks mixed with avocado and bread. The huevos rancheros were better, but I wasn't a huge fan of them. I honestly can't say if they are traditional or not since I've had this before, but it was prepared differently. Overall, I'm a little disappointed or underwhelmed with the food. The service was great, though! We got seated, orders taken, and food delivered quick. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but it definitely wasn't for my taste buds.

We ordered the food to go - avocado toast and huevos rancheros. Just like someone else we felt that the avocado toast was super bland. I had to add additional salt from my own kitchen. We were surprised that the huevos rancheros does not come with any ground meat. Overall the food was only OK, we have had way better food in other brunch cafes. Disappointing based on the other great food reviews.

Breakfast burrito had zero salt. So unflavorful, it almost tasted sweet. So many fruit flies landing on my food even inside. Owner is aware of fly problem outside but I experienced it inside as well. Not impressed with my visit. Would love to visit again when fly problem is solved, and I will try another item too.

I ordered the Cuban Bowl with chicken breast, rice, black beans, plantains, avocado, tomatillo sauce, onions in mojo sauce, and Pico de Gallo. It was either the mojo sauce or the chicken. Plantains were extremely sweet. Avocado was canned guacamole. Disgusting. Reported to the health department, avoid, never again.
