I got the vegan chik-n parm sub here and it was AMAZING! They 100% nailed it, zero compromises on flavor or texture. When I was a kid I loved chicken parmesan, but after going vegan, I never thought I'd get to taste something like that again. Guess I was wrong! 😁 Everything about the sub was perfect, from the cheese (which actually pulls apart - I think the brand they used is Violife), to the ample amount of sauce that melts into the breading of the chik-n, to the soft texture of the chik'n itself. It's clear that a lot of thought went into crafting something that is so similar to the non vegan version. Also the portion size was great and the price was great as well! So yea. If you're the type of person who likes places like The Butcher's Son or Wish Me Vegan, the chik-n parm sub here is definitely worth trying. I can't speak to other options on the menu like the vegan wings or pizza though, since I haven't had them yet. The store is in a clean, well-lit segment of Shattuck right next to new apartment developments. The vibe inside seems nice as well and there were a few table + bar seats open when I picked up my order. I will definitely be coming back often for the sub 🙌

Extreme Pizza in Berkeley is the best! They have a huge variety of pizzas with lots of veggie options, and their salads are really good too with plenty of choices. The food is always fresh and tasty. Preet gave us the best customer service ever and was super friendly and helpful. Definitely a 10/10 spot for pizza lovers!

Fun place with great pizza. One of the few places in downtown that offers Indian style pizza! I ordered the Aveiro and loved it. Crispy but right amount of chewy crust and great flavor. Nice place to watch a game and have a pint and a slice.

FYI - under new ownership and all new interior! If you see a review that's older than March 2025, it's not for the same place. I've been to this place for pizza four times in the last seven days - it's that good! The pizza is great, the beer is good, and the wine, although a limited variety, is also very good. The owner is also amazing and so nice. This is my new go-to pizza place in Berkeley. Try it!

Extreme Pizza packs a punch! Strong tastes, innovative toppings, and crust that keeps them all in order. Fast service, excellent quality, and vegan/gluten-free too. Definitely worth it for pizza that is anything but boring. The atmosphere within the establishment is great aswell.

This place was recommended by a friend, so decided to give it a try. Got a medium Spice Route very flavorful pizza . Also got an order of the zip line knots which were to die for! Ended the meal with their big chewy cookie . Paul took care of us and had a really great experience. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. If you are in the area definitely recommend this place.

Love their raging rooster especially with Alfredo sauce. Also a huge fan of b-town tandoori pizza. Quantity and quality are great and its pretty cheap compared to other pizza places.

My family has some significant food allergy concerns and the owner and her second in command, her husband, made sure we all at excellent food that was also safe for us. As a bonus they were both very nice people and fun to chat with.

This is a great place. The food is amazing. Great quality and price, and the service is outstanding. Friends and strangers told me to try this place for months. You can get a huge side salad and huge pizza slice for under $13. It's a great location. It's a family business, but the young woman who owns the place and is always there is the real boss. She runs a tight ship and the care really shows in everything they do. Even though she travels a long distance everyday she never relaxes her standards and always has an A1 attitude. 10/10 would recommend this place. Thank you for the great experience -Arman

Great pizza! It’s a must to stop by and try the dishes at “Extreme Pizza.” I would rate it 10/10! The restaurant is under new ownership and has a wonderful staff. It has a great atmosphere, making it the perfect place to bring family and friends for a meal. Everyone is friendly, and the service is top-notch! This place is awesome! The food is fresh and delicious, and they have a great beer selection. The staff are so attentive and friendly! We were the only customers in the store for a few minutes, and they literally gave us the remote to the tvs so we could choose what to watch (we chose the National Geographic channel lol) Super chill vibe, I HIGHLY recommend!!

I went here yesterday and it looks like it was their soft opening! One of the best garlic knots I’ve ever had and the pizza was delicious. I tried the Baja 1000 and loved it. The manager and employees were also very helpful in answering my questions and very nice. Will be back soon!

I was a huge fan of Extreme Pizza back when it was next to the old Staples office supply store. The closure was sad for many in the neighborhood, and when I heard they were reopening after a few years, I was eager to try them again. Unfortunately, my recent experience didn’t quite match those fond memories. It looks like the new location, which may be under different ownership, offers pizzas with noticeably fewer toppings than I remember. For instance, my pepperoni and Canadian bacon pizza was tasty but had much less meat than before—especially for the $27 price tag. Staff mentioned they use an entire cup of pepperoni, but for a medium pizza, it just didn’t seem to deliver the same value or abundance I used to expect. I appreciate that the pizza arrived hot and the staff was friendly, but I hope that maybe the owners will reconsider their portion sizes as they get settled in. I understand that each Extreme Pizza is independently managed, so some changes are to be expected. I’ll give them another chance in the future, hoping they'll bring back the generous toppings that made them a neighborhood favorite. RESPONSE BACK TO OWNER (12/9/2025): As I recall, first, this is not a QUALITY issue at all but a PORTION issue. Now, maybe it is possible that the previous owner was not doing this right, but I remember that the pizzas wer like mounded with toppings and I wasn't paying extra for them.
