Opiniones de Farmhouse Kitchen Berkeley
I love this place and I come here whenever I go to Berkeley or Oakland. It is the most amazing Thai food around. The dishes are prepared with some skill and expertise and it really shows in not only the presentation but also in the flavor combinations. Today I had the Madame butterfly Gin cocktail and that was a so fabulous. I also had the pork larb And I really love all the different taste that come with this dish. I also had the mien kum that is a powerhouse of amazing flavors topped with a shrimp. You got to try this place and your taste buds will thank you a thousand times over...... You can do a taste testing for lunch and try a whole bunch of different things for 28 bucks. A real deal. Get on over here and get happy!
The lobster here is very fresh, i like that. the staffs are friendly and polite. the environment is also cozy.
This restaurant truly impressed me! The presentation of the dishes is beautiful, with vibrant colors and fresh ingredients. The beef rolls were flavorful and tender, perfectly complemented by the crisp vegetables. The cozy atmosphere and attention to detail make dining here a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to come back!
Best Thai in the East Bay. The menu is huge- as in they have many different menus to give you and it’s a bit overwhelming. But everything we had here on multiple visits has been great. Some dishes are quite expensive but you can have a great meal here for under $30/person if you want. I recommend the green papaya salad with prawn- it’s an appetizer but huge. And the curries are all delicious ($20) There’s lovely outside seating on nice days and an upstairs room that’s lively and nice. Plus a full bar. Definitely worth a visit- and not just for special occasions.
We love this place! The food is delicious! We love the butterfly pea jasmine rice. Our server Mind was pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere is beautiful with an open patio with heaters. Red curry is the perfect amount of spicy and the Thai fried rice has tasty chunks of tomatoes. Absolutely recommend this spot. I think my son eats here at least once a week.
Amazing and definitely returnable. Best Thai food in the area! Food was authentic and Thai ice tea was great too (not too sweet). Would recommend the lunch tasting menu where you can have an entree, two appetizers and a hot soup. Some dishes may be a bit too hot for some (for us it was okay), but the server fore-warned us about it.
Vibrant flavors, warm service—our new favorite Thai spot! We dropped into Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine tonight and loved every bite. The beef rolls arrived hot and crispy, with tender steak and a punchy dipping sauce that set the tone. Next came the Tom Yum soup—bright, aromatic, and perfectly balanced between tangy and spicy. For mains, the fried chicken was ultra-juicy with a light, crackly crust, while the Pad See Ew delivered that ideal smoky “wok-hei” flavor in every chewy noodle. Portions were generous, presentation was Insta-worthy, and the staff checked in just enough without rushing us. A sweet finish capped off the meal, and we left already planning our next visit to explore more of the menu!
I love this farmhouse kitchen! I’ve been to all the locations except Berkeley, and my colleagues and I finally got to try this one. OMG—the food was amazing, and the portions were perfect! Everything was incredibly delicious; we all ended up in a food coma, haha, but no regrets! Every dish was fantastic, and the sauces were packed with flavor. The service was impressively fast—our food arrived right after we ordered, which was a huge plus! We also made a reservation in advance, and there was plenty of street parking available.
amazing food! lots of vegetarian options!! I had the pad thai and the spring rolls, which were burn wonderful!

Best thai food in Berkeley with great ambience and wonderful service from Kanya! \nCan't wait to come again
Excellent service, and amazing food!! We got the Thai roti as appetizer, and for the mains ordered fried rice with chicken and the beef noodle bowl. Would come back!!
Great food and service :) staff was friendly, everything tasted very yummy. Would recommend pad thai and Thai tea.
Great vibe, delicious food. James gave us great service! Had the samosa, pad see yew, and yellow curry.
Amazing food and great service I tried the Pad See Ew and Yellow curry with chicken, they were delicious and service was fast as well.

The food was delicious and presented very well. The portions were perfect for sharing! The environment is welcoming and enjoyable. The sticky rice with mango was my favorite not too sweet and cooked to perfection!
Colorful food and decorations. Very welcoming Thai food. Exquisite menu options. I would come back again! It is mostly a younger crowd here but I still enjoyed being here with my family.
I liked their tom yum soup and rice noodle + broccoli + egg item on the kids menu. Top-notch service and good ambience. +they’ll take away your leftovers and pack them up for you +they will clean the table up before your dessert I wasn't a big fan of their Pad Thai (too saucy) and green curry (too spicy+greasy). Writing the review gives you a free coconut ice cream, which is worth getting!
Lovely heated, dog-friendly outdoor seating with plenty of vegetarian options. Tom Yum soup – flavorful, though it had more veggies than broth which was a bit distracting. Pad See Ew – delicious, with perfectly cooked veggies. Choco lava cake – rich, creamy, and tasty, though the lava was less than expected. We waited about 15 minutes for a table (just for two), and the cake took a while to arrive. Other than that, everything was great!
The food is good- the sauces are great. The service is also great, but one discrepancy was that the menu outside contains old prices. Notice the pad Thai is $2 more in person/online than the menu photo we took outside the restaurant. It’s misleading and drew us in falsely thinking we could get a pad Thai for cheaper. The ambience is nice and would bring someone here for a date!
Excellent food and friendly service in a pretty space. The outdoor seating was already filled when we arrived with a reservation at 6:30 on a weekend evening. We were escorted upstairs to a large, pr…
We can hear because we wanted the whole crab they said they don’t have. Then we wanted the lobster pad Thai they said we have to order the special version with whole lobster and price is now $69, not per menu. Eventually we got the crab fried rice and looked like it’s using shrimp to supplement the lack of crab meat but it’s actually quite a lot of crab meat. Mango sticky rice was so tiny and mango had no taste.

We chose Farmhouse Thai on Shattuck to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. Based on glowing reviews showing a 4.8 Google rating with several thousands of reviews at the time, I had big hopes. I love good Thai cuisine. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype. I have a gluten free diet. Farmhouse Thai is currently listed as #3 for Top 10 gluten free Thai restaurants in Oakland and #4 for Yelp’s Top 10 gluten free restaurants across all cuisines. Given that reputation, expectations were understandably high. There were not many GF options. There were no basic curries. When we arrived around 5:30 pm on a Monday evening, a loud alarm was already going off. It was not clear whether it was a car alarm or a security system, but it continued uninterrupted for about fifteen minutes while we were seated. Not knowing what the noise was, and having it persist for so long, made it hard to settle in. We were close to leaving before it was finally resolved. Not the best way to start an anniversary dinner, but I was hopeful. Basil Bomb, $43: The menu photo shows a full, seafood forward plate listing Tiger shrimp, pork belly, and multiple shellfish. What arrived was very different. There was not a shrimp to be found, and a large bowl of plain broth took up nearly half the tray. While the broth itself was excellent, it felt like filler. The butterfly pea rice was plentiful but plain. The seafood that was present tasted good, but the pork belly was the biggest disappointment. It was dry, overcooked, and underwhelming. My partner and I both love pork belly. I cook it at home as a treat. Neither of us wanted the last bite. The dish is listed as M for medium heat. Our server, who was genuinely kind and attentive, warned us it might be spicy. It was not even close. We found it mild. For forty three dollars, the dish did not deliver what the photo or description promised. Tom Yum soup, small, chicken, $12: Fairly priced. Lots of chicken, and the breast meat was well overcooked. Flavorful, but not memorable. Pad See You, Wagyu beef, $25: The portion was modest for a noodle dish at this price. Sadly, the beef was dry and overcooked. The dish comes with Chinese broccoli, but what we received were slivers, barely present at all. The noodles were tasty but leaned sweet. I used the accompanying chili oil from the Basil Bomb to add heat here. Even then, the dish felt good but not great. Overall: The food was consistently underwhelming and overpriced for what we received. This was a splurge, and it did not feel worth it. I have spent about five months traveling in Thailand, and I know that finding local Thai food that is not overly sweet can be a challenge in the Bay Area. Farmhouse Thai uses good quality ingredients, but execution matters. Daughter Thai, run by the same group, has been far more consistent and satisfying in my experience. The space itself is lovely and genuinely upscale, and visually it felt like a special occasion spot. That made the contrast with the food more striking. The menu images and dish descriptions on Google and Yelp look divinely mouth watering and suggest generous portions, which set clear expectations. Given the price point and reputation, this visit was a disappointment, especially for an anniversary dinner. We have other Thai restaurants we enjoy and will return to those. One final note. Each table had a placard offering a free vegan dessert in exchange for a Google or Yelp review. In reality, the only desserts available contained dairy, which is not an option for me. Even that felt like a miss. It does, however, help explain the sheer volume of glowing reviews. 4 Stars for Service & Atmosphere.
1. Posting full receipt of prices on my DD. I prefer genereic receipts for privacy. 2. Happy hour extra chicken got me less chicken. 3. The meal was packed 30 minutes before it was pivked up. I got it 15 minutes after that, 45 mins later. Either your systems need refinement, or you think im stupid and wont notice.
