Il Pastaio in LA is fantastic! 🍝🌟 The atmosphere is cozy, and I never expected a dish called "Justin Bieber" to be this good, but it was seriously delicious! 🤤 And the truffle pasta? TO DIE FOR!! The flavors were incredible. The service was excellent, and the overall vibe was relaxed. Definitely worth the visit—5/5, a must-try for pasta lovers!

I had originally made a reservation for Valentine’s Day, but when I arrived I realized my reservation was actually for the following day (Sunday). Even so, the hostess Cindy and Jennifer were incredibly kind and accommodating. They went out of their way to find me a table, and my wait was less than 10 minutes — which was amazing, especially for such a busy night. The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I was seated outside, enjoying live jazz music, which made the whole experience feel extra special and romantic. Great food, great service, and truly outstanding hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Agnoletti - creamy raviolis stuffed with mushrooms- was really good and tasty! The bread is to die for - homemade and served warm - Our waiter was really nice and classy too! Great dining experience in Beverly Hills!

From the moment we sat down, the experience was impressive. They started us off with fresh Italian bread, excellent olive oil, and some balsami, which made for a simple yet perfect beginning to the meal. The starters were fantastic, each one full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The same goes for all of the main dishes we tasted—everything was cooked perfectly and felt genuinely authentic. We ended the evening with delicious desserts that rounded out the meal wonderfully. The service was exceptional throughout the entire visit. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food paired with amazing service.

Did not make a reservation, but the host was very friendly and seated us right away. Everything was perfect — truly in the heart of Beverly Hills, steps from Rodeo Drive. The food was amazing. We had the lobster pasta, Caesar salad, and squid ink risotto, and all three were delicious and excellently prepared. Service and hospitality were exceptional. Our server, Gio from Milano, and our busser, Lino, took great care of us. When you go to a nice restaurant, you’re not just getting service — you’re getting hospitality — and they delivered exactly that. Definitely coming back and bringing friends next time.

Loved the food here. The pasta was excellent; fresh, comforting, and clearly made with care. Flavours were solid and everything we ordered tasted really good. That said, the service wasn’t great. It felt inattentive at times and didn’t match the quality of the food, which took away from the overall experience. Amazing food, but the service could definitely be better.

We had lunch at Il Pastaio and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is elegant and warm, classic Beverly Hills Italian dining with a refined but comfortable feel. It’s the kind of place that works perfectly for a special occasion or a relaxed upscale dinner. The food was excellent. Everything was well prepared, rich in flavor, and clearly made with high quality ingredients. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were balanced and authentic, and the presentation was beautiful without feeling overdone. You can tell there is real attention to detail coming out of the kitchen. The service was professional, attentive, and smooth throughout the evening. We never felt rushed, and everything flowed exactly as it should. Overall, Il Pastaio delivers a true upscale Italian dining experience with great food, a lovely ambiance, and strong service. Definitely a place worth coming back to when you’re in Beverly Hills.

The drinks were fabulous, the only issue is that the restaurant is load, but that is LA for you. For some reason the restaurant was a bit cramped too, don’t remember it being like that at all. Anyways, the food was good.

The tasting menu is full of surprises and honestly, it was all fabulous. I’ll be back. Nico was a superb waiter.

GO HERE!!! We went to several old school iconic places that were very disappointing like Frank and Musso. This place actually delivers: best calamari, meatballs, homemade pastas you will find anywhere on earth. Its easily accessible location has vibes reminiscent of a Little Italy eatery. Reasonable prices too esp for Beverly Hills! Highly recommended.

I can not say enough amazing things about this place. The food was amazing, great choices, the lychee martini was delicious and goodness the ravioli was to die for. The waiter had great recommendations and was top tier service

Pasta is done very well. Texture chewy and cooked to al Dante. Sauce was spot on as well, aroma and flavor very rich. Would return.

A wonderful Italian experience! The food and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. My favorites were the Cacio e Pepe and the T-Bone Beef — both were simply exquisite!

When you hear about an Italian restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills you are probably thinking overpriced and watered down but Il Pastaio will pleasantly surprise both your taste buds and your wallet. The place is always packed and for a good reason. It's not just because people want to show off but because the food is actually delicious and the outdoor seating is lovely on a wonderful warm California day. Pro tip - make reservations in advance to avoid the long wait! This landmark of Beverly Hills hasn't really lost its shine and luster over the years! Beyond the amazing atmosphere, the staff is exactly what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant- professional yet warm and overly friendly. If you give them that energy, you'll get it back in return and have a lovely time. The food is amazing. The home made pasta is al dente and the sauces are perfectly balanced for each dish. Sorry, if you are expecting Americanized slop, you might want to go elsewhere. It doesn't quite hit grandma's cooking level, but close enough for a mainstream establishment that pumps thousands of these a day. Prices have gone up in recent years but all things considered it's still definitely cheaper than what you'd expect to pay in this area. You are by no means getting the deal of the century but you aren't getting completely ripped off either. While this won't beat the Italian grandma's cooking and won't be the cheapest deal, Il Pastaio delivers on quality Italian food, relatively good value for the area, amazing service, and a lovely atmosphere in the heart of Beverly Hills. Rounding up to 4.5 stars.

Il Pastaio was an outstanding experience! The spaghetti Cacio E Pepe was perfectly prepared. The service was great. The menu and wine list were very impressive. Don't forget to order dessert too! If you want authentic Italian cuisine, this is the perfect destination. Dine inside or outside. 5 BIG Stars!

Il Pastaio has always been one of my favorite restaurants ever! It is not just a place to eat, it's a landmark. A true Beverly Hills institution that somehow never loses its charm. This time, I went with a very close friend, and the night felt even more meaningful. One of the dishes is named after her uncle, David, who used to be well-known and loved here. We also ordered the Justin dish, and honestly? We couldn't decide which one was better, so we got both! No regrets. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauces rich yet balanced, and the energy around us felt cinematic. If I could put a song to the moment, it would be: "This year... ever think I have been wanting, manifested." Because that's exactly what it felt like, something l'd been quietly hoping for, brought to life in the most delicious, elegant way. Service was professional and warm, and every detail, from the silverware to the table conversations, whispered Beverly Hills class. Tip: Try to get a table outside. The people-watching and golden light make everything taste even better. And yes, dessert is non-negotiable.

As an Italian, I can confidently say that Il Pastaio serves some of the most authentic and flavorful pasta in Los Angeles. The dishes truly capture the taste of Italy, with fresh ingredients and perfect execution. Every bite reminds me of home! The service is impeccable—attentive, professional, and friendly, creating a top-tier dining experience. The ambiance is elegant yet inviting, making it a great spot for both casual and special occasions. My only suggestion? Slightly larger portions. Considering the cost of pasta and the high margins on it, adding just a few extra grams wouldn’t hurt the restaurant but would greatly enhance the presentation and customer satisfaction. That small touch would make an already excellent meal perfect. Overall, highly recommended for real Italian flavors in the heart of Beverly Hills!

What a wonderful place, we came across it while in the area on an anniversary, and it was a deliciously wonderful experience. Although, the ambiance was a little awkward, every bite made everything worth it. The little cubicles on the outside make the experience a little too intimate with whatever other table is there, to where both my table and the next would whisper more than talk in order to not be rude. All in all, I’ll be back.

The best risotto I’ve ever had. Truly an experience. Definitely a place you must visit.

I always dine in here, and somehow, it’s always the best dinner ever imagine that. The experience, the vibe, the atmosphere it just works, every time. It’s the kind of place where you sit down, and you already know the night’s going to be solid. And then there’s Felix, the manager making sure everything is flawless, like always. The guy runs the place like clockwork. The food? No notes. The service? Exactly how it should be. It’s my go-to, my easy choice, and honestly, it just feels like home if home served perfect pasta and had someone making sure everything was just right.

Last night, my dear friend and I enjoyed an unforgettable evening in Beverly Hills. Before attending a show at the Saban Theatre, we had a dinner reservation at the renowned Il Pastaio. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the manager, Felix, and promptly seated. Our server, Massimo, delivered exceptional service. A true professional from Milan, Italy, Massimo has been part of the Il Pastaio team for 20 years, and his knowledge and passion for Italian cuisine truly elevated the experience. From start to finish, the food was outstanding, the ambiance refined, and the service impeccable. If you’re looking for a remarkable night out at one of Beverly Hills’ finest restaurants, Il Pastaio is the place to be. Be sure to say hello to Felix and Massimo. Buon appetito! Matthew Productions

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in LA! The seafood pasta is absolutely perfect ~maybe the best I’ve ever had. They also have a great wine selection, and the waiters are always friendly, helpful, and funny. It does get pretty busy around lunchtime, so I recommend coming before 1 pm or after 3 pm for a more relaxed experience. 🍝🍷

Just a hop and a skip from Rodeo Drive you’re wondering if it’s a hype train but I was graciously surprised by the overall quality and service they put on. Indulge yourself with the truffle pasta dish (enough to share). The steak special was a treat. Delicious, clean, and perfectly cooked.

Il Pastaio is a staple Italian Restaurant in Beverly Hills. It is a culinary experience and the food is always delicious. Almost always busy so it is best to make reservations or prepare to wait for a table. It is worth the wait every time, whether you dine indoors or outdoors. Excellent service and ambience. If you are in Beverly Hills and love Italian food, then you should go to Il Pastaio.

It’s rare to find such great value in a place as pricey as Beverly Hills. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors thoughtfully balanced, and everything feels carefully prepared. Highly recommend the asparagus salad

We had our baby shower private event in the White Room. It was stunning! The service was top notch- even helped with some decor placement! They have a TV to do a slideshow if you would like to feature some photos- we showed our baby photos. The food displays were gorgeous- we did a dessert bar and the food and plating were stellar. A nice private entrance to the event space- great for guests and load in and out. They had a beautiful sign marking our event outside of the entrance. Nina and the whole team are outstanding!

05/18/2025 It was my first time eating here, I was asked to accompany someone for an event to celebrate one of their family member's birthday and Juris Doctor (passing the bar exam). Not only I think they serve the best ravioli but their salads were also very good as well as their salmon. The place were packed and I can understand why. I was not personally a big fan of Italian foods but when I saw this place and tried their foods, it caught my attention.

Such a great treat if you’re in the area. The staff were accommodating of our seating request and the turnaround time was pretty quick. We loved the black truffle pasta with the added cheese wheel. Definitely worth the extra $23. Make sure you try the panacotta as well! SO flavourful and fluffy (like a cloud)!

Ambiance, food and service are all top notch. The pasta reminds me of Italy, you didn't feel miserabley full. Great quality and the calamari appetizer is lightly breaded and melts in your mouth.

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant last night with a party of 16. We arrived and were seated in the back. Our server, Lucas, came over and immediately went to work, moving the heater around to make us comfortable and cozy. The food was amazing! Our server decided to make a huge show and our pasta was served in a huge Parmesan cheese wheel. It was all so delicious! The service was impeccable, and we left feeling very satisfied. We will definitely be back and will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dinner. Thank you so much for a wonderful time

Some of the best Italian food and service in LA! Abde is probably the best server I’ve ever had! He went above and beyond to make sure our group of girls had a pleasant experience. He was very patient with us. I’m actually writing this review over 6 months after we dined here, so the fact that I remember his name and his service shows his impact. I highly recommend this restaurant and the wonderful Abde!

We had an absolutely lovely meal here. The menu was very expansive and every item we ordered was delicious. Our waiter was incredible and took care of every detail. It seemed to be a local’s favorite as there were people who had been coming for years.

3rd time visiting. Food: High Quality 👌 Had truffle pasta, and also tried; bruchetta plate, arugula salad, panna cotta, tiramisu. All delicious. Atmosphere: Lovely 😍 Service: Great, yet not excellent 🫣 Server & Busser super nice and professional, yet staff bringing out food was sloppy. Set food on the table between myself and other guest but his body rubbed/pressed on mine a couple times and not in a subtle way. There was also an empty seat on my other side of me so could have easily served food thru that side with pelanty of space. Happened twice, was waiting for a third time to say something but other staff served the rest and they were awesome.

Exceptional variety of unique pasta creations. Penne Calenda Alla Vodka offered as a special of the day beyond outstanding - picture attached Outdoor seating most pleasant but felt too crowded. Vegetable ravioli was not warm enough and lost some of the potential unique flavors. Excellent bar and wine by the glass options Certainly worth a second try.

I had high expectations walking into il Pastaio in Beverly Hills, the location, the crowd, the buzz… everything feels like you’re about to have an unforgettable Italian experience. The reality? A bit more “scene” than “substance.” The pasta was decent, but not memorable. It wasn’t bad by any means just surprisingly ordinary for a place with such a strong reputation. When you’re dining in Beverly Hills, you expect flavors that transport you straight to Italy. Instead, it felt more like a well-executed weekday meal rather than something worth talking about the next day. And the tiramisu.unfortunately, that was the biggest letdown. It lacked the richness and depth you hope for more polite than indulgent. A dessert that should end the night with a wow factor ended it with a shrug. Overall, il Pastaio delivers atmosphere and people-watching at a high level. But if you’re going purely for unforgettable food, you might leave wishing the flavors were as bold as the zip code.

The food was amazing, and the place is so cozy and romantic. However, we had to wait for 15 minutes even though we had a reservation. Also it gets crowded and you'll have to wait a little bit if you want to order something else.

A great Italian place you can’t go wrong with. The food was lovely and freshly made with a great vibe. I was able to customise a dish on the menu to make it just the way I wanted. I can’t fault the food but service wasn’t great. I booked the table two days in advance and was not told I have an option of sitting inside or outside. I have a baby and it’s quite cold in the evening at this time of year so sitting outside was definitely not an option. Upon arriving the waiter immediately went ahead and offered an outdoor table. We declined and it then took them atleast 15 minutes to prepare a table instead. They should definitely ask this question when people are booking. Second issue was the waitress trying to hurriedly serve us and kept asking if we were finished from our meal, really making us feel to rush and leave. This is definitely what you’d want considering the price you are paying. Otherwise can’t say they food was bad, can only praise the kitchen and chefs at this place.

J
Jung Lee

This is a very well run and tasty Italian restaurant. Service is quite good and the atmosphere is quite stylish but not too pretentious. You can go out with the whole family here. Almost all the dishes we ordered were very good. Ossobuco and pasta and cheese wheel were really good. They bake their Italian rustic bread every 40 mins and they are super fresh. Parking around this area is difficult and expensive but it is worth coming.

C

Delicious authentic Italian food. Great service. Could still sit outside despite it being LA winter. When making your reservation make sure you ask to not be seated next to the main door.

N
Nadine Moceri

We had an amazing meal and really enjoyed the atmosphere, however we did not appreciate the way our waiter handled the ID situation when ordering a glass of wine. My daughter is 21 years old and when she presented her California driver’s license, he accused her of having a fake ID. He said he physically could not serve her, which we could understand if she were underage or if it was a fake ID. He later verified with his manager that the ID was indeed valid, but that should have been his first step if he was unsure. It took away from the enjoyment of what would have been a spectacular evening.

P
Prateek Mansharamani

We went for the chef’s tasting menu at Il Pastaio. The food was good and well-presented, though not quite as exceptional as we expected. Our dietary preferences were assumed despite mentioning them, but the server did offer to replace the dish, we appreciated that gesture and chose not to send it back. Overall, a pleasant experience with attentive service, just not the very best as we hoped for

n

This place is truly a pasta gem. I’m very picky when it comes to pasta, but their handmade noodles were incredibly chewy and fresh. We ordered three pastas and a ravioli. Every dish was delicious, but the standout was the morel mushroom pasta with asparagus and spinach—it had a penne-like shape and was absolutely amazing. The crab spice linguine was also fantastic, and the cacio e pepe was pure heaven. The agnolotti was larger than the traditional style, more like a dumpling, but the juicy filling and chewy texture were out of this world. For appetizers, we had the zucchini blossoms and the beef carpaccio. The carpaccio was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the cheese wasn’t too salty. Paired with a basket of bread, tearing off the crispy sourdough ends made it absolutely perfect. Corkage is $30. Overall, it was an unforgettable, flawless meal.

M
May Xoxooo

The meal was underwhelming , the calamari appetizer is okay - For the main course the chckn milanese was dry and completely lacking of flavor and the restaurant restroom needs a-lot of improvement.. a restaurant have reputation for being a good place to eat but not anymore!!

A
Alleah Facey

Had high hopes but left a little disappointed. Like most, I came for the Justin Bieber pasta, it was okay, but nothing special. I actually preferred some of the other pasta dishes more. Service was very slow, and we had to ask multiple times for drinks and the cheque. That said, the atmosphere was lovely.

S
Sara Volpatti Knutson

The pasta was really good, and the panna cotta was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Our server kept forgetting to check in on us, and we had to flag him down more times than we can count. He seemed to have an attitude throughout the evening and was noticeably more attentive to other tables. To top it off, he didn’t even hand us the correct bill at the end of the night.

N
Noam Baruh

The food is very good-looking and very tasty service was outstanding and on point. we really enjoyed it However, the place smells very bad like something is rotting. The restroom looked like the restroom of a nightclub at 2am Parking -2/5* Accessibility -2/5* Atmosphere - 3/5* Clean - 4/5* Restrooms - 2/5* Service - 3/5* Food visually -4/5* Food taste -5/5* Food freshness -5/5* Price - 4/5* Total score 3.5/5

They were great about allowing us to manage our attendance. We went from 6 to 10 to 6 again over two weeks. But they require the full order to start apps (I hate that) and then the server was never around. We ordered a 2nd bottle of wine from the busser, but the waiter was a required part of that process (read as - delay). The food was great. Portions were appropriate and the truffle menu was delicious. The lentil soup was too salty for the senior in the group, but everyone loved the risotto and the tiramisu. Wine selection is short but effective. It feels like a hot spot worth trying, but I think I want to walk down the street for the next dinner.

M
Mark Engel

I am writing this review in hopes that I can save future me’s from coming to this place. I was visiting from New York and was not expecting much, but assumed that a relatively well known Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills would be decent. Even making allowances that I came here on Valentine’s Day, this was just a terrible experience. Arriving here, I fought through the crowded sidewalk to annoy them with the knowledge that another misinformed couple had arrived for dinner. We waited patiently on the sidewalk 15 minutes past our reservation time until they finally got us and sat us in the tables in the street. I dont have much to say about the food, there is not much more to say that it was as bland and mediocre as the service. I just don’t know why this place exists. You would think that the people of Beverly Hills and the surrounding area would know better.

D
Daria D

This place feels quite overrated. The service was minimal and inattentive, and the atmosphere didn’t add much to the experience. The interior looks outdated and lacks warmth or character. As for the food — it is better than average compared to many Italian places in the U.S., but it is still far from authentic Italian cuisine. Overall, it didn’t live up to the expectations.

S
Slime Masters

Worst experience EVER! I shared one meal with my daughter. I was not familiar with the menu or the prices, I asked the waiter what do you recommend and without showing me the price he recommended the white truffle pasta, I had no idea it was over $100 so I agreed to try it. My bill came up to $205 including $18 garlic bread which was not worth it and desert and wine. I requested to speak with the manager, and Felix came and was VERY rude and threatened to call the police on me when I told him I was having trouble with the price. We argued over if the waiter showed me the price or not and he even went as far as retrieving footage from the cameras of the waiter briefly flashing the name of the dish at me before putting it down. He proceeded to brag about people paying $300 for a singular shot as if he was rubbing it in my face that I didnt want to pay so much for ONE meal. I told him if I would have known the pasta was so expensive I would have never ordered it. He even asked me if I had any valuables on me which was very offensive. Yes, I admit i should have looked into the pricing before ordering but it should have not resulted to me receiving so much disrespect. Eventually I paid after a very humiliating conversation, I feel absolutely disgusted. This was THE WORST dinner experience I have EVER. My 15 year old daughter pulled out her birthday money and he said "even the young lady has money", she even put down 40 but he gave her a 20 back as if he wanted to seem like a nice guy. I read other reviews and MULTIPLE people have complained about his mistreatment to customers, and he should NOT be a manager let alone work at such an establishment.

Jerry: I don't understand. Do you have my reservation? Rental Car Agent: We have your reservation, we just ran out of cars. Jerry: But the reservation keeps the car here. That's why you have the reservation. Rental Car Agent: I think I know why we have reservations. Jerry: I don't think you do. You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.
