Manager is awesome! She made sure to tell us what meats were available and which ones were sold out. Get here before 10 am! The brisket goes fast. Their half order of ribs is MASSIVE!
The Fat Pig Burger with pulled pork was excellent! And the kids meal menu is good too. Be sure to ask for a side of BBQ sauce with the Fat Pig Burger. The service was great! We didn't have to wait at all. But I didn't like the new digital menu system, they say they are working on it. Hopefully a paper menu with descriptions comes soon. I will come again!
Despite a few options for some beers and bites in Big Bear, I'm glad we came across this spot. Service was quick and food was delicious. Brisket sandwich was saucy and smokey with a nice touch of homemade mac and cheese with a little surprise of a peppery hint. Our server was quick, thoughtful, and made us feel at home. Although we were a ways from home, I'm glad we picked The Bone Yard
We came on a Sunday for lunch. I got wings and fries and my husband got the fat pig burger. It was incredible we like to split our meals especially going somewhere new and the brisket on the burger was amazing. The staff is chill fast and funny definitely recommend.
First time eating here but we will for sure come back. The BEST brisket my husband and I have tasted. So soft and amazing taste. We ordered the mac-n-cheese and mashed potatoes as our sides, they were delicious. Great taste.
My family and I stopped here for lunch while visiting big bear on a very busy Saturday. We walked in and at first I was nervous because it was almost completely empty. Within about 15 minutes of being seated the place was packed. The food was top notch. Everything from the salads to the sandwiches to the BBQ items we ordered were awesome. The fried pickles and artichoke dip were delicious. Definitely recommend this place! Only complaint I had was that they were out of about half of their beer options. Other than, the food and service were great!
TLDR: You are going to want to eat here!! The chocolate lava cake is THE BEST We started with the fried pickles. They are homemade with thick dill chips and a light, crispy batter. My bf thought they were a little greasy, but I thought they were some of the best I’ve had (and I order them every time I see them on a menu). We also got the buffalo pretzel bites. I’d never seen these on a menu. They were stuffed with the perfect amount of buffalo sauce and cheese and paired perfectly with a sweet and tangy dipping sauce. It reminded us a little of the chick fil a sauce we like so much. I personally thought that they were also really fun to eat and a unique and yummy combination of flavors. I’d definitely get them again. I ordered sides of grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes for dinner- both were excellent. 5 out of 5. My bf ordered the BY grilled cheese and said it was fantastic. It was filled with perfectly smoked meat and the best tasting bacon. He loved their BBQ sauce. He dove in so fast that I didn’t get a photo. We ended the meal with the chocolate lava cake. It was absolutely delicious! The BEST. Homemade. Perfect chocolate cake and melty chocolate, homemade whipped cream, and a ripe juicy strawberry. It’s clear that the chef is committed to excellence and quality. We stumbled upon this place because everywhere else was crowded and had a wait. We really lucked out. Our server said they had updated the menu recently, and I think whatever they did is working! The staff were also very friendly and our server/bartender gave great recommendations for drinks and food. The cherry old fashioned was great, the painkiller was tasty but strong, the prickly pear cider was just the right amount of sweet and tang. I thought the prices were reasonable too. I will definitely be eating here again (we visit big bear monthly). If you haven’t been here, or if you haven’t been since they revamped the food/menu, I can’t recommend it enough.
Came here on a Saturday night for a party of 10. Everyone's food came out on time, and the customer service was excellent. Our family also had the lava cake but we ate it so fast I never got a picture. We had the lobster roll, Mac and cheese, pulled pork sandwich and fish. All were delicious. We will definitely be back!
All other restaurants had a long wait so I just came here to try it out. They sat us right away. Got a side of full onion rings and they were amazing. Nice and crispy on the outside with a side of ranch which was delicious. Got the pulled pork sandwich and it was AMAZING with fries that were really good. Burger was well crafted and they had a wide selection of beer. My experience here was great so I would disregard the review. Definitely coming back to eat here.
11:30am on a Saturday before Christmas, was dead when we walked in, but picked up quick. Was seated quickly, drink orders taken fast by our server, Yuri. Orders were promptly taken, and came out quick. Bone Yard Grilled Cheese was awesome, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, and cup of chili with cornbread. Onion Rings were A+++, & Fries. Great service and food. Thank you Yuri for our wonderful experience.
We had a fantastic dinner featuring BBQ ribs, brisket, creamy coleslaw, soft cornbread, bacon green beans, and garlic mashed potatoes. The ribs and brisket were perfectly smoked and flavorful, and the sides were the ideal complements—especially the creamy coleslaw and garlic mashed potatoes. Our server, John, was both personable and professional, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. We also had positive interactions with Manager Allysa and Ben, who made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience with delicious food and exceptional service! I should mention that we shared our meal so my plate only represents a small portion of what we were served.
Service was slow understaffed one server at lunch. One cook. Burger fell on floor accidentally. Chef didn’t remake burger for replacement but made for other tables burgers who sat after us. One person on our party didn’t eat. All burger have same patty. Wish they would have made burger a priority that they dropped. Waited and waited. Finally ate our food. Fish and chips all batter. Tasty and great presentation. Avocado burger excellent. Music 90s. Outdoor patio great and nice street view if you have a small pet. Fried pickles were amazing! 😍Picked up a Brie pear sourdough sandwich at Barrel 33 AMAZING! Wanted dessert but server didn’t come back. Not servers fault understaffed. Need 2 servers for lunch. Great otherwise always patronize when in town. Huge parking lot and bathrooms behind this establishment. Walkway through corridor. Easy street access.
Came in on our drive through Big Bear Lakes, Vegas from LA. I think overall we were really happy with the service as they were so friendly and very patient with us. The food was good but not sure if I'd have the smoked meat sections from there. Sadly the briskets weren't available so a lot of the food options weren't there so we can't tell for sure of it was worth it. P.s. HUGE drinks selection there!
Service is very slow, and we went during non-peak hours (3-4pm). Pulled pork was good, collard greens were excellent but the brisket was dry. The elote dip was extremely oily. Cocktails were delicious (albeit expensive, $15-$20 each) Overall I don’t think I’d come back here again with so many other options in the Village.
Very good seating both indoors and outdoors. Also, we were seated within a few minutes upon arrival. Spacious seating seating for families. Other nice things were dog-friendly and awesome 90’s country music! Now for the negative: this place had OK food, but not great. It was more like a diner than a grill in that the two salads we got were basically a head of iceberg lettuce. Good, but not $18’s good. The brisket was good and the mashed potatoes were delicious but the serving sizes were small. Next, the service was OK. Our waiter sat us but we didn’t see him again for the remainder of dinner. Others would pop in or we would go to the bar for a refill. Again, OK but not amazing. The place was hopping but it was not a grand slam. I would guess the location is the primary reason people go here. Sorry, don’t want to be negative, just hoping to be helpful here.
This is no fault of the employees themselves, however the idea of 40 taps being the largest draw to a bar can be misleading. My girlfriend and I got the 808 and SpecialX beers which came to a whopping $14 a piece. On that note, there was a skunky or unclean taste to the beer. Having such a variety of choice can lead to overly long standing life of drinks which leads to this taste. was not helped by the clearly understaffed staff at all Go to a place with fewer taps or choose the cheap frequent movers for the best tasting bang for your buck. Or, just go somewhere else
Stopped by here today after boarding, hoping to end the trip on a high note—but the food was a real letdown. Portions were fine, but the flavors just weren’t there. Everything tasted bland and forgettable. For the price and the setting, I expected way more. Kinda disappointing way to wrap up the trip.
This is a nice sports bar/restaurant, the servers are friendly, good atmosphere… the silverware is dirty, we asked for 2 new sets. The food is absolutely disgusting, especially considering how pricey it is. The $16 side order of Mac n cheese tastes like a mix of craft with velveeta. I am honestly surprised that it’s as bad as it is. Our bill was $135 for 4 people and we aren’t leaving satisfied. 🤮
My family and I went to the Bone yard tonight for the first time and it was not good at all they do not have menu's you have to scan a QR code to see the menu I ended up ordering the beer can rotisserie chicken plate the chicken was very over cooked it smelled even worse I thought maybe it was because they "smoked" it. So i tried a bite of the chicken and literally gagged it was as bad as it looked on top of being super dry. I was thankful they took it off my tab because it really was horrible and i couldn't eat it. Our Bill was still 65.00 and that was for pulled pork French fries and a fat pig burger and 4 non alcoholic drinks.
this place was terrible. We went in as a large group there was 10 of us. This place was empty in front of all of us 2 servers were going back and forth with eachother how they didnt want a large party right in front of us. (i know a large party can be hectic but again it was empty and if I was a server id want the large groups any groups at that point) The waitress took our order for drinks and food they ran out of ketchup and a few selections of beer. Another group came in had them wait 30 min for a table even though we were the only ones there. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place by any means. Lots more places to choose from in the Village.
