Excellent place to stop for breakfast on your way up to Mammoth. The chicken fried steak is authentic and yummy (needs a little salt) but it’s the real deal, not something they pulled out of the freezer. My ham & cheese omelette was perfect. I added a bit of salsa, which also is fresh, not canned. The orange cranberry muffin is a perfect side as well as the sourdough toast. Can’t go wrong and prices are great!

Had a delicious breakfast here! Great service. The waitress lowered the blinds when the rising sun got a bit blinding. And my salt shaker cap fell off, dumping salt on my food. The staff was very kind and remade me food, and made sure the give me a working salt shaker. Appreciate how kind they were. The fresh squeezed orange juice is definitely worth getting! Love the warm nostalgic atmosphere. Would recommend and come back.

Coming from a long road trip and needed something to eat for breakfast. Jack's Restaurant was the perfect place for breakfast. The portion sizes are enough for a big fella like me and the price is right. Service is friendly and they automatically serve coffee before I sat down. I highly recommend this place if you are in Bishop.

Great little diner. Eggs Benedict had great flavor but wasnt a very big portion. Waffle was ok very big. French toast was soggy. But the hash browns were ahhmazin!

Jack's has been a Bishop staple for many years. I have been coming here 20 plus years. The food is good comfort food. But its the tradition on why I come here. Highly recommend if you need a good stop for good food in Bishop, CA.

Located on Main Street in the middle of Bishop. The service was FANTASTIC from our arrival to departure. Server and staff ensured we had our drinks refilled often and our food came out quickly. The food taste was average for a diner and the portion sizes were good. Favorites at our table included the chicken strips, french fries, and french toast.

The eggs, coffee, pancakes, and hash browns were all good. However, they mark the chicken fried steak as a specialty item. It was horrible quality, tasteless, and very hard to chew. It almost felt like rubber or cardboard. When the waiter asked us how the food was I told him about the CFS, and he did not care at al, and did nothing about it. Would not recommend this place overall.

Eggs Benedict were awful, ordered regular scrambled eggs instead and got some real mushy eggs. Come on, scrambled eggs are the basic eggs and couldn't even get that right. On a good note, the coffee is delicious. But will not be returning.

Stopped here on Friday at about 9:30am to grab food for our trek home. We got seated RIGHT away...but it took a good 20 minutes to have a server take our order. There were two massive parties sat right before us along with two other booths. We received coffee that we didn't order also. Once we finally ordered, food also took a while to get here. What should have been a 30 minute stop for 2 people took an hour and 15 minutes. Food was average. The eggs and bacon were decent, but they make pancakes that NEED syrup.😬

Dined here with a friend once and I hate to say it but I feel like we were discriminated against. This was during the height of COVID. We walked in and right away were met with hostility by the old hostess or waitress, whatever she was. As soon as we walked in she yelled that we had to wait outside the door. We respected that but soon after us, a family walks in and she didn’t tell them anything. The family was allowed to wait in the restaurant while we were made to wait in the cold. She gave them service and led them to their table soon after. After waiting awhile, we were finally allowed in. That lady was very rude towards us, I don’t know why she treated us so poorly while she maintained a positive attitude with everyone else. We’re not even from the area and we were just visiting family. Food was good but I would not go back and dine there if that bitter old lady still works there.
