Opiniones de Wallsé Bloomfield
An outstanding Easter, 2022 meal. Courses well timed, wine recommendations spot on, staff is courteous and professional but not stuffy. Every plate shines, from the flavorful steak tartare to the spectacular apple strudel. No pretentious gimmicks or flavours-de-jour, just solid cuisine in a lovely art-filled setting.
My husband and I had an exceptional dinner at Wallse. We truly enjoyed every dish, the elegant atmosphere ( without being pretentious),intimate lighting and superb service. Lamb was delicious! Octopus was amazing and bread was perfection. We were so pleased with a wonderful Austrian wine. We will be returning for sure, for another lovely experience.
As a NYC local, this restaurant has remained my #1 for the past few years. Menu options will pique curiosity for little-known Austrian cuisine fundamentals, and then pleasantly blow your expectations out of the ball park. This is my #1 NYC restaurant and my #2 in the world.
Each visit offers different surprises. Cooperative, grounded, and sincere. Their dishes are carefully crafted. This restaurant combines nice environment, attentive service and delicious dishes. I appreciate the quality support provided.
Truly a special place. The chef and the staff put pride into their work. I have been coming to Wallse for the past 7-8 years, and the quality has been consistent if not better every time I am back. Schnitzel is a must-try item, and you will never regret. I am so glad that I found this place in my life in NYC.
Dining at Wallsé was an unforgettable experience that transported me straight to Austria. The authentic Austrian cuisine was nothing short of incredible, making it one of my favorite meals out. Our server was not only friendly but also extremely knowledgeable about the menu, enhancing our experience with insightful recommendations. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Schnitzel, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. As a first-time taster of venison, I was pleasantly surprised by its rich and tender profile, which exceeded my expectations. For dessert, we indulged in two delightful options, but the chocolate tart truly stole the show with its decadent richness. The ambiance was romantic and whimsical, adorned with beautiful art pieces that added to the charm of the evening. A special moment was catching a glimpse of the executive Chef, which made the experience feel even more personal. I left Wallsé with a full heart and a satisfied palate, eagerly looking forward to my next visit!
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was really tasty and excellent. However, I I was disappointed that they didn’t have venison (in November) when it was actually on the menu and we had gone to a really early dinner. I also had a mishap with the service when they served a dessert on a piping hot plate and did not let us know and I basically burned fingers on both hands and we barely got an apology. We had the Wiener schnitzel and the pheasant both really good. The SALZBURGER NOCKERL, BLUEBERRIES really good but watch out for the plate. To summarize really good food good sommelier (only Austrian wines) and warm and cozy ambiance. However the quality of the waiters ismediocre.
The restaurant week dinner menu (available everyday of the promotional period) was delicious. All the flavors of the dishes were well balanced and refreshing. -Beef was tender with a delicious red wine sauce. -Cod was buttery with a melt in your mouth pastry layer. -You could taste the corn in the chowder and the cream was not overpowering. The crab cake in the dish was a nice complement. -The melon soup and fruits used were refreshingly sweet. The servers are very attentive. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained.
Came here for dinner during restaurant week and loved the food! The staff were friendly and nice and very helpful with the food selection. I looooved the corn soup! The vibe was great for a date night, but it was on the quieter side, so I wouldn’t recommend it for a bigger group or for girls night
We arrived a bit early for our 7pm reservation and were taken to our table fairly quickly. The staff were all very friendly, informative on the menu, and professional. The aesthetics are lovey; including the fresh flowers in the window still, bathrooms and all the dining room tables. The food was excellent. My mom loved the grapefruit Austrian beer & I enjoyed one of the Austrian dry white wines in the photo. The butternut squash soup is a must & dairy free (made of coconut milk). My mom & sister got the organic chicken and I got the cod, which was cooked perfectly & the sauces & veggies paired so well with it. The atmosphere is not too quiet and not too loud, just right. Would definitely return to bring friends here and try some other items on the menu!
Place is great - staff, food, service, all wonderful. If you’re on the fence remember this has been at Michelin star level for 23 years - the sheer consistent brilliance required to execute that, is unthinkable. The schnitzel is the finest I’ve had & the desert, Salzburg nockerel - DAMN that is delicious. Wonderful experience. Easy 5*
Brunch was such a delight! The atmosphere was so relaxing, the staff so generous and helpful, and the food was amazing. I cannot wait to return and try the dinner menu. I have been twice, for brunch, and the food and atmosphere has been top-notch twice. I am hoping to return for dinner in the not-too-distant future.
First time, but definitely not last. Diners can splurge with many courses, or pick and choose from many items on menu. While reservations are advised, there are some tables available for walk-ins. Eating at the bar seems to be popular as neighborhood meeting place. Staff was friendly, accommodating and handled all requests with grace and efficiency. Delightful experience!
I was here for my birthday last night. It’s a very unusual restaurant in the west village. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in New York for a long time. First of all, if you’re looking for a restaurant with a reasonable noise level, this is a place for you. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. All the dishes were outstanding, from the presentation to the quality of the ingredients. I had the smoked salmon as an entree (excellent), and the schnitzel as an entree. We all had the schnitzel: out of this world! So light. My friend had the strudel for dessert (very good) and I had the best dessert of the house: kaierschmarren. TRY IT!!!!
Delicious food! Beautiful presentation!! And impeccable service! The duck entree was unbelievably delicious! The art decor and background music add so much charm to the ambiance. All around a wonderful dining experience! Pricey, but to be expected for Michelin rated spot. Expect to spend $250 for 2. And it was worth it!!
Simply one of the best Michelin restaurants in NYC (out of 24 we have dined at). Amazing food, successfully combining the artistry of haute gastronomie, national traditions of the Austrian (and broader Central European) cuisine, and down-to-earth sheer deliciousness. Neither will a visit to Wallsé break your wallet, for it is one of the most affordable Michelin star-studded restaurants in the city. Very relaxed and laid-back setting, comfortable dining areas inside and outside, beautiful location. Impeccable service. Since the restaurant doesn't have it dessert menu available on its website, please refer to the picture of the dessert list we included in our review. More than highly recommended. A perfect dining experience. PS. Presently (August 2021), one won't be admitted without a proof of vaccination.
Ambiance (5/5): The restaurant is very small with minimal/simplistic decor. There’s a full bar and several small tables nearby. Might be a little tight on seating but it wasn’t busy on the particular early weeknight. Service (5/5): The service is spectacular with constant check-ins throughout our whole dining experience. No complaints. We came for their $60 NYC Restaurant Week 2025 menu. Overall expect small portions but a really great presentation and a blast of different flavors and texture. Watermelon martini – delish! It was made using real watermelon, which we saw being prepared at the bar. Spicy summer corn soup - I really liked the presentation and it was tons of unexpected flavor, tiny bit of spice. Grilled Bavette Steak – The meat was pretty tender although I did not think it had too much taste. The sides of the root and red cabbage were flavored well and complimented the steak. A little underwhelmed by this dish. Salzburger Nockerl – very unique, light, and not overly sweet Perhaps for a place which used to be a Michelin star, I was kinda expecting more. It was operating and felt like a fine dining experience!
An authentic restaurant with a great interior design. I can tell that the service was above professional. They are so many wine 🍾 options so might want to go there to try them, they also have exotic cocktails with Austrian items. The menu was a little bit confusing to me as a first-time guest but they were helpful to make sure we are not lost. The prices are high so our expectations were excellent seeing and taste the duck was really good and the schnitzel but there were few items in the plate that weren't fresh in fortunately. There's something romantic about this place and it's a great place for a date.
Mixed experience. We had cocktails and a prefix 3 course dinner. As soon as the cocktails were delivered we were asked to order, several times. Then reminded, in no uncertain terms, by the maitre d that we had a strict two hour window to eat a get out, as the table was reserved. We were a little stunned and contemplated leaving. But the waiter was nice and we did not want to escalate the scene. We ordered and were out before our deadline. The trout was excellent, apple strudel was good, the rest of the meal was ehhh! For $180 we expected much better. And nobody was waiting for tables when we left. So we're lied to.
Had dinner here. For 2 - spent $200 The food was tasteless -- had the cod (no flavor), the schnitzel and the celery root salad. The food had no flavor. How do you justify charging $48 for a plain 5oz fish that has nothing with it?!!! Avoid. No reason to here. Michelin was a fluke. Honestly a total rip off.
